Stopped in with friends for lunch and I have to say that the food and service here are as good as it gets. Out waiter, Eli greeted us with a smile and took the time to answer all of our questions. A better than average diner in the middle of Long Island, an area where you can't sneeze without hitting a diner. The menu is extensive, the service is good, and it always seems clean. The prices, however, are truly something to behold. True, ordering a complete dinner will bring enough food to last your family for three or four days but will cost a month's worth of grocery bills. I realize it is probably a lost cause since the world is going in the opposite direction but I would far rather have a reasonable sized portion- 1/3 the size - at 2/3 the price. You are paying fancy steakhouse prices for a larger version of food you can make at home. But I suppose that is the charm of diners. Homestyle food in a casual atmosphere, and someone else does the cooking and cleaning. Hundreds of choices, something for everyone. And it is so nice to occasionally take the time to be at a table with your family or friends instead of in the kitchen. The Premier does a good job at delivering that experience. The diner standards are all there, in a standard format. Very few creative options, but that's not what you came here for. The one area where they do show some panache is in the breakfast specials. Baked oatmeal is a favorite of mine, but the kids drool over the stuffed French Toast and my wife enjoys their omelette concoctions. The bill will be staggering, especially after the well-deserved generous tip, but your full, happy belly will help you recover from the shock. read more

Huge portions of mediocre food. They are known for their french toast but it was nothing special - and served with corn syrup. The veggie burger patty was fried pureed vegetables - YUCK! The Greek chicken special was half a roasted chicken (way too much for a lunch portion) with a gelatinous lemon cornstarch sauce. It was supposed to come with oven roasted potatoes - a Greek specialty - but the chef burned them and so they were not available (I was not told this until after my meal was delivered to the table). I chose this diner because I was meeting a friend and we wanted a place halfway between where we live. We were seated immediately and greeted by a friendly waiter. When I opened the menu, I was SHOCKED at the prices and I do eat in diners quite often. My teenage daughter was going to order a plate that cost nearly $30, but I told her to go and order some overpriced appetizers, at least they were still under 20. I ordered the basic cheeseburger and my friend ordered a pizza burger. When I saw the prices, I decided to skip the "dinner specials". Those specials were over $25 each. I would expect to pay those prices in a fancy NYC place, but not a LI diner. The food was plentiful and ok tasting, but definitely not any better than the California diner I frequent in Patchogue. I noticed that a lot of the patrons were elderly (wealthier older crowd). I suppose management thinks they can get away with such high prices with these type of customers frequenting the place. When we got the bill, I soon realized that 2 burger supremes , 2 appetizers and a cookie cost us nearly $60. No thanks, I am going back to my California diner the next time. read more

It is a typical diner but it is cleaner than most. I find the food quality to be poor. For instance the gyro is frozen and pasty not like real meat but more like the consistency of oatmeal. You would think Greeks would have pride with their country staple. The owners are nice but they want the people who order the dinner special for $29.00 stuffed fillet of sole kind of person. Not me! I want to say premier saved Father's day .The 4 of us went to the diner & they were busy & told us it would be a wait & was put on the list.I asked the young lady if I can have a table not a booth if possible. She kept on top of it and we were seated at a table in maybe 15 minutes.The place was packed and the service was excellent and all our food was really good.they had plenty of servers & all friendly & efficient and we were not rushed. We all loved food we ordered & happy we ate there.We had reservations at Bonwit for the brunch but I made my family leave because of one employee who showed us were to sit in a booth right next to steam tables & would not try to accommodate with the seating even if we waited because it was too hot there for me. So my family was angry with me for making them leave, especially my husband .So I want to thank premier for saving the day. This is the best diner in the area. The quality of the food is top notch. Everything is fresh and tastes delicious. The menu at appear to be a bit pricey, but the quantity of food equals the menu price. Almost everyone leaves with a container of leftovers. It's enough food for another meal. The wait staff are friendly & attentive. Peter, the owner, your table to check to see if you are pleased. I love the chicken kabob dinner: soup or salad, chunks of marinated chicken over rice or pasta with pieces of tomatoes, green pepper, onions, & mushrooms served piping hot. You also get desert. Went here this past Saturday for dinner with four companions. Wish I hadn't. I chose the "Yankee Pot Roast" dinner. Never again. First, the wait service is lack luster, we couldn't wave down either the waiter or the busboy for water refills even though the place wasn't really packed. Prices were fairly high, which I wouldn't ordinarily mind if the quality was good. It wasn't. What I got for 21.95 was a good cup of Orzo soup, a cold plate of beef with congealing gravy, and a dish of rice pudding that was perhaps of Cozy Shack quality. I sent the meal back to be "nuked" and the waiter brought it back semi-warm. Wasn't a great thing to eat, and I didn't finish it. As mentioned soup was good, and one of my companions said the rice pudding was "homemade and excellent". They must have run out of the "homemade" stuff and instead gave out something that tasted like it was taken out of a gallon pail of Cozy Shack brand. Bill for the five of us came to just under $125 dollars, and this was with most of us just drinking water. Not an experience any of us will be eager to repeat. read more

I ordered a custom wrap, not a wrap they normally carry on the menu. The avg. price of the wraps was $12-14.95. I ordered a simplistic wrap, chicken and cheese, that's all! When we got the bill they had charged me $16.95 for my wrap, $16.95 for 2 simple ingredients! When I questioned the owner at the register he said it was an additional charge for the French fries, I point out to the menu where it showed the wrap prices and said all wrap prices include French fries. Then he tells me it was $2.50 more for the cheese. Ridiculous. Overpriced, was nothing special compared to the 100s of diners on the island. Will not be returning. Poor customer service, waitresses dropped off food, never came back to check if we needed anything. Cross off of places to visit. read more

I've been here a couple of times before for breakfast because I found they had great oatmeal. Today I stopped in for an omelette. Since I'm currently on a diet, I told the waitress to skip the home fries and toast and asked for some asparagus instead. I was told there would be an up charge for the asparagus. Went there for a business meeting with a client. Ordered coffee, my client ordered decaf. They gave her regular, coffee was old and burnt. I was not going to complain, when the owner came over and said in a rude, obnoxious way "are you going to order?, I need the table! As I looked around, half of the tables were empty. I said "don't worry, we'll finish up shortly." my client said "alright, I'll order a meal" I commented about how rude that behavior was and told her not to be coerced. The owner, who was apparently eavesdropping, marched right over and exclaimed in a loud voice "I'M RUDE?" ...NOW YOU HAVE TO GO", I was thoroughly disgusted at such a boorish display and frankly, felt embarrassed for their lack of manners. We got up to go and as we went to the counter, my client politely told the owner's son: "I agreed to order" he replied, "no, I don't think you were going to order" Unbelievable! As we exited she told me "I think this was because I am black" I was shocked. Needless to say, my shadow will never darken the doorstep of this outrageous place again. Pathetic. read more

This diner is a really good Greek Resturant. It usally gets alot of business and when it gets busy the waiting line is not that line. The Waitress I had was super nice and polite also friendly. The waitress I like is one that could a quick conversation with me and take my order and treat me well. This waitress was fast and quick. She took are order and came out super fast with food. She has great balance on her arms and she is also and super nice to kids. I could tell she takes her work very seriously. The bathroom was very clean and outside windows and floors were clean.
