BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!! I want to share AWFUL experience with Honda World in Downey, this is a letter I wrote to the manager Oscar Ramirez. Case and point, recently I went to the Honda service as I always do for an oil change, as most of the time after they check the vehicle you're "Certified Mechanics" make recommendations of what needs to be repaired "urgently." In my situation your mechanic assured me and advised me that my engine was leaking oil from the "O-Ring" and that it needed to me replaced FAST, ASAP. I asked for the cost and the service advisor said it would cost over 1,200.00 to replace the "O-Ring" because they needed to remove the timing belt to get to it. I told your service advisor that it was a lot of money and that before repairing it I would like to get a second opinion which I did. I went to a certified Honda mechanic and after inspecting the car he said that the problem was not coming from the "O-ring" instead it was from the oil pan seal, I went back to the dealer and requested another inspection and your "Certified Mechanic" insisted that the leak was coming from the O-ring and not the oil pan. Your service advisor even took me to see the car to show me where he thought the oil leak was coming from, when I saw the oil pan it was clear to me that the leak was coming from the oil pan seal, but despite the obvious your "Certified Mechanic" INSISTED it was not. Your service advisor recommended your mechanic to clean the area and for me to return in two days to see what was really happening, I complied. I left and came back after two days and finally your mechanic admitted after seeing CLEARLY that the leak was coming from the oil pan seal. He had been WRONG, a mistake that would of cost me $1,200. After that exhausting process and a lot of time wasted your service advisor told me that my warranty on that part expired and that I had to paid for the repair, I told him that I didn't think it was fair since I had replaced the whole part at your Honda dealer about 3 years ago and that perhaps it was not done properly, and/or perhaps your mechanic failed to communicate the issue prior to my warranty being expired. Your service advisor, "Freddy," told me that he would try to talk to you to see what could be done and your response was to offer a 15% discount like if that would actually resolve and erase all of your "Certified Mechanics" lack of professionalism to really address the oil leak. I ended up paying over 250.00d to repair the oil pan seal that was leaking oil and 3 years ago I had replaced the oil pan completely, all amounting to over 600.00 dollars to do it. If you don't believe me about this events that occurred ask Freddy C. regarding your "Certified Mechanics" mistake and his unwillingness to see his mistake until he was backed up against a wall and his mistake completely unveiled. Not only did your mechanic fail, but you as a manager failed in not properly handling this matter when you were made aware of it. Would you like it if a professional attempted to charge you $1,200, and then claim that something is defective when the problem is coming from another source; PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES. I ask myself. Are your mechanics well trained and how much knowledge and trust do your certified mechanics have to offer to the clients? If I would have not been the type of customer that always asks and gets a second opinion, I would have had spent $1,200 because of your mechanic's irresponsibility, shall I repeat I would have spent $1,200 and the leak issues would have not been resolved. This is RIDICULOUS, and on top of that your mechanic was still trying to deny his mistake to Freddy and myself. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. It is so disappointing and sad how someone who lacks the knowledge about cars could easily be taken advantage by another, who supposedly has the education and training to make profession recommendations about your car. Wow, is that what Honda Downey has lowered it standards too? Why should I continue to trust my car at your service department or what would make me want to recommend Honda World to others. You may be saying to yourself this is one bad experience, but believe me I have had several at your department...a year after I had bought my car, my gas pump stopped working just and I had bought the extended warranty on my vehicle through Honda care. I was supposed to be covered not only by the extended warranty, but the warranty that comes from the vehicle, instead I was told repeatedly that-that specific issue was not covered by the warranty and that I had to pay for it which I did only to find out after, that you service advisor had lied and that the warranty should have took care of the repair . Conclusion: Honda mechanics are no different than what is outside, your "warranty" is a joke and a rip off, Customer service rep. we feel it's important that you and the general public are aware of the corruption, fraud and negligence that's happening at a local Honda dealer (Honda World Downey) when it comes to their "Certified Pre-Owned" Used Cars. On their Web site and on their commercials, Honda makes claims that their certified cars go through a rigorous inspection, are trustworthy and will give you the peace of mind you're looking for when purchasing a vehicle from them. We fell for that hook, line, and sinker, and I think you'll see that our current experience would instead leave most people disgusted, angry and skeptical. What's most sad is that the very greed and corruption that has sent this economy and country into a tailspin is still being practiced right in our own backyard and it needs to stop. It's a bit long but forgive us. Here's our story... On February 13th, 2009, my fiancé, Kirk Rossi and I purchased a 2006 pre-owned Certified Honda Ridgeline RTS from the Honda World Downey dealership located at 10645 Studebaker Road, Downey, CA. Our desire to purchase a pre-owned certified vehicle was premised on our belief that certified vehicles are put through a rigorous inspection. The certification and inspection process was of extreme interest to us as new parents who intended to bring their new born baby home from the hospital in this certified vehicle. On February 12 and 13, we spoke with the dealership to discuss the purchase of a certified Honda Ridgeline, making our intentions regarding our baby clear to both Vincent Santos and Mark Hay who assisted us with the purchase of the vehicle on February 13. I wish to make special note that it was raining that evening as we drove our baby home in the certified Honda that we had just picked up from the dealership. Upon inspection of the vehicle the following morning, Kirk noticed a two inch piece of rubber missing from the side wall of the rear passenger side tire. Upon closer inspection, Kirk also noticed cracking on all four tires. Furthermore, when reviewing the dealerships own inspection report, we have noticed several inconsistencies, most notably a certification that the sunroof and heated seats were in working order despite our vehicle not having a sunroof or heated seats and the additional key being held together by scotch tape. Kirk immediately contacted the dealership and returned the vehicle that day so they could see for themselves the unacceptable condition of the tires. After Kirk asked for a new key and four new tires, Vincent Santos and a service technician informed a manger of the situation, looked at the truck tires without raising it on the service lift, and said the only tire they would replace is the one with the chunk missing from the sidewall. They acknowledged that the rest of them had cracking but met Honda standards since they did not have "excessive" cracking. Honda World subsequently replaced the right-rear tire with another unsatisfactory tire that contains cracks within the treads and said if we wanted anything else done, they would rather unwind the transaction and/or we would have to discuss it with the managers. As for the scotch taped key, they said their only requirement was to simply provide it; regardless if it was taped together or worked, which it doesn't. During the week following the transaction, we made numerous calls to the dealership to remedy the situation, but our claims were ignored and summarily dismissed. Most concerning is the fact that the dealership knowingly allowed us to drive our new baby home in a vehicle that on a number of points had not passed the Honda certification safety standards. We have offered Honda World the opportunity to review the vehicle and bring it up to standard; however, Honda has denied that opportunity, further failing to deal with its customers in a reasonable fashion. Only after receiving a similar letter to this one, and finally returning our calls, has their Sales Manager, Steve Shabazian, asked us to drive almost 30 miles back to the dealership for a second time so that they can inspect it for a third time and/or unwind the transaction without replacing the vehicle. Since we now know this to be an unsafe vehicle, we think this is a ridiculous invitation and once again demonstrates their unwillingness to resolve the matter, and again, put us in a dangerous situation. We encouraged them to inspect the vehicle once more by retrieving it themselves which we know is a basic capability of any dealership. They claimed to not have that capability. Furthermore, on March 9 and March 12, a customer service representative from American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Jonathan Yu, 800-999-1009, ext. 117755) contacted us and tried to defend the dealership's actions by stating that American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has no leverage against the dealerships regarding situations of this nature. Honda World Downey is representing the Honda brand, maintains a franchise license to conduct business under the Honda name, and as such, is ultimately responsible to uphold the values and standards set by American Honda Motor Co., Inc. As of today's date, the dealership has refused to acknowledge that this vehicle has not met Honda's strict pre-owned certified vehicle standards (a list of the points that failed the inspection has been included for your review) despite notifying the dealership that we had the vehicle reviewed by a third-party garage, who can also verify that the vehicle does not meet Honda's certification standards. Through this, my fiancé and I are not only disgusted and angry, but now seriously question the legitimacy of the Honda certification program and its dealers. We believe Honda World of Downey was grossly negligent in the inspection and delivery of this vehicle and likely committed fraud with respect to the 150-point inspection report and checklist that was provided. Surely, Honda would not condone the dealership's behavior as it is in clear violation of established consumer protection laws. After review by a third-party garage, we no longer feel comfortable driving this vehicle, and certainly would not entrust it with the safety of our new born baby. Because of their unwillingness to deal with this matter and simply give us what we paid for, we are now forced to file a lawsuit with the appropriate Los Angeles County court. Is this the type of business we need or want in America? And should hard-working young families have to deal with this kind of situation and be put in harms way like this? I think the unanimous answer for the general public is "no". Evidently Honda World Downey thinks its ok. Our lawyer's initial research found that this dealership has been sued multiple times before so they obviously have not learned their lesson. Please let them know this is not ok. Third-Party Review List of items that do not meet Honda Certification Standards: 1. Body damage to the underside of the right rear door. 2. Brake fluid was not serviced. 3. Left, front tire had 3/32 of tread depth and a large crack within the outer tread. 4. Right, front tire had 2/32 of tread depth, a nail in the tread, was cracking along the entire sidewall and had been plugged from a prior flat. 5. Left, rear tire had 4/32 of tread depth and a nail in it. 6. Right, rear tire (which Honda World replaced because of the chunk missing from the sidewall and said was new) had 5/32 of tread depth and a large crack within the tread. This was clearly not a new tire. 7. The second master key did not open or lock the doors when the lock/unlock buttons were pushed, was taped together with scotch tape and the metal part moved within the plastic housing. 8. The required 60,000 mile service had not been performed. 9. The windshield wipers were not replaced and left streaks on the windshield when activated. 10. The radiator coolant reservoir was empty. 11. The transmission fluid was over filled. read more

The first time I came here was with my mother and came out very disappointed as they were not helpful. I decided to give it a try again and I was amazed that it actually went great. I went in asking for a trade in for something reliable & used... they gave me a 2025 HRV my "approval"was quick I was even surprised cause I know this takes time but turns out that Tedy Julian Arturo and Daniel weren't having the right communication so I got called back to go return the car cause I wasn't approved after all. I went looking to save my credit and they ended up affecting my credit even more. I took it back New Year's Eve all to confirm they didn't even know what they were doing. They retuned my trade in car with low battery & very few gas mileage left they also seemed in a rush so they didn't even allowed me to get my stuff out of the new car so I had to walk in and look for help to get my stuff out. So inconsiderate! I had a horrible New Year's Eve and they have horrible communication they don't even know what they're doing!!! I thought they improved during time but no I was wrong. Another thing! To get my deposit back I was told I needed the physical debit card and I didn't have it cause my friend who turns out she also had a very bad experience there had lend me her card. She has kids and works a full time but she still tried her best to go with me the next day. We show up we're about to make the refund and all for them to say "Oh you didn't need the physical card look it's done" in seconds! Like what?! I honestly was very fucken upset at this point but I kept my integrity. They also kept insinuating and saying things like "you need a rich husband" "you need to get married now" like that's very disrespectful for a woman. I ignored and responded "I will be the rich wife". Why are they having options over a woman's life like that's very disrespectful! Seems like they don't have a wife and daughters themselves. My name is Ehab and I have been looking to buy a used car for the past 3 month and I have been turned down in every dealer that I visited, at the beginning when you call the dealer you will hear every thing that you want to hear over the phone,once you visit the dealer every thing will change. to make the story short and because of my CR. and the Score that I have I decide to put this purchase aside, in another meaning I give up and decide to fix my little car that I have and spend more money in a car is not worth any more than $500. at work one of my co-worker told me about his experience at Honda World in Downey and he recommend me to visit that dealer and to meet with one of the internet Manager ( Ashraf Shaker ) just for the HK of it I went there and all what I asked for is used car for max. of $10,000 because of the monthly payment that I can afford. I met with the sales manager ( Vanessa ) which was very helpful to my situation, also the sales director ( Joseph ) he played a part of this sale, after 1 hour I found my self in the finance office with ( Tanya ) one of the finance manager signing the contract and all the paper work. Very nice and great experience i had with that dealer, special thanks to all the Managers and the team work to make this happen. I end up in a new Civic 2013 with a less payment than what I was planning for a used car. I love it and I recommend that dealer to any one is looking for a new or a used car, very friendly and they know what are they doing. Thanks to every one who helped in my situation to make it happen. Bought what I was lead to believe was a certified used Kia from this dealer in December. Horrible experience. First, I found the sticker they had ripped-off the window when I bought the car and discovered that they charged me $1000 MORE than the sticker price. They blocked my Grandmother into her house when they delivered the car (they refused to deliver it to my home in Burbank) leaving her without a way to get food after sitting with me for 6 hours at the dealer and then an hour and a half to return with my trade-in. A few days later I had a minor heart-attack when I received a letter asking me to return my car or it would be repo'ed. Called to ask about it and was told not to worry, they fixed "it", whatever "it" was. I have driven it less than 2,000 miles since the day I bought the car (it has 58,000 total), and lo and behold, on my first long driving excursion, the engine throws a rod, stranding my friends and me late at night. I had purchased the largest extended warranty I was offered, but was told by the warranty company to take it to Kia because it was still under factory warranty. Kia roadside assistance valiantly raced to rescue my car from the gas station parking lot it was about to be impounded from, but, alas, Kia refused to pay saying that the engine had been abused. Next, I had the car towed to Honda World at MY expense, where they changed the oil and sent it back to Kia (which Kia?), hoping they'll change their mind????. My extended warranty is refusing to cover this because it is still under factory warranty. Factory warranty is saying that the engine with a mere 58,000 miles on it has been abused, so they're not forking out. So, here I am, stranded, with my new car (with TWO warranties which are no good) at who knows which dealer, a week and a half later, and no one knows anything. read more

I was very excited to visit the dealership and purchase a new car. The salesman I worked with was excellent -- I explained exactly what I was looking for, and he helped me find my dream car. The shopping experience was smooth and enjoyable. However, the financing process was extremely disappointing. Mel Cabalar, the finance representative, did not demonstrate the level of professionalism or effort expected in his role. I was informed that if the dealership couldn't secure financing within 10 days, the vehicle would be repossessed. I remained patient and hoped Mel would follow through. Two days later, I submitted the remaining required documents and waited for feedback. Unfortunately, days passed without any communication from him. Despite leaving multiple voicemails, emails, and messages, I received no response. It wasn't until the ninth day that Mel finally contacted me, stating that I either needed a co-signer or an additional $4,000 down payment -- even though I had already paid $2,000. Following that, he repeatedly called me, trying to follow up. At that point, I chose not to respond, as I found it frustrating that he only reached out when the deadline was approaching, despite my prior efforts to communicate. I decided to visit the dealership in person and was fortunate to receive assistance from another staff member. Within two hours, he not only found a financing solution but also secured a better deal, requiring just an additional $500 down payment. What Mel failed to accomplish in two weeks, someone else resolved in two hours. If you are considering financing a vehicle at Honda World, I strongly recommend requesting a finance specialist other than Mel. While the rest of the staff was incredibly helpful, my experience with him was unprofessional and disappointing read more

When I first came here everything thing seemed to be going great. Everyone was very nice and pleasant I thought they were actually their to help me. I was wrong ... I understand that it is a car dealer their suppose to sit and tell you what you want to hear how you want to hear it but this situation was not only a waste of time but very unprofessional and very fustrating. Basically I went in on a Thursday gave them all the information they asked for they told me now this make take some time give us to the end of today I did. I went ahead and gave them a call that day before closing they stated that it will have to wait until tomorrow. I understood and waited until the next day. The next day which was Friday they stated to me the next day finally Saturday they stated the latest Monday. When Monday came around they stated some bs that things didn't work out with the loan I came in to speak to them about it then I get word from a financial rep that they never even processed the information so I had to wait another day. When speaking to the financial rep told her I wanted my down payment she stated which ever way the situation went she guaranteed it would be ready. In the mist of all this I waited a total of 5 days. Yesterday when requesting to get my down payment back she stated even tho I gave it in cash they have to apperently give it back in check. Not only have they been giving me a run around for 5 days but today when I went to pick up the check they told me it wasn't ready or available so again I would have to wait until tomorrow. There are usually two things that prompt people to create a YELP account, one being exceptional customer service, the other being a terrible one. This is the latter. Definitely one of the worst car buying experiences to be had. Steer clear of Bradley (Salesperson) as his lack of professionalism was palpable. Having been referred Honda World Downey through the Costco Auto Program, I came in with the expectation of receiving professional service which the program is known for, however the opposite was received once I set foot on their sales floor. It was made clear from the onset that I was looking at their vehicle through Costco and was refused the price sheet which they must show once requested. This price sheet was refused not once, not twice, but three times. The third time coming after I presented my Costco card, at which point Bradley began to fill out a credit application with my name taken from my Costco card. (This after I had previously mentioned to him that i did not want to fill in an application). This being the las straw, I got up and left my seat and promptly requested the business card from the people had I had spoken with, none of whom had one. It is at this point that the appropriate Costco representative came out to talk to me, by which point I was no longer willing to spend any more time at Honda World Downey, he proceeded to write his name on a blank card in the chance I still wanted to bring my business to their dealership. It is unfortunate that one person can ruin the reputation of business, which is absolutely the case with Honda World Downey and their salesperson Bradley. read more

Few days ago I was shopping for a new accord sport, I contacted one of the sales persons via phone (CARLOS) with the price I'm offering, he called me after yelling "no, I can give you that price but I won't " what a response . They are so rude and lacking the basic customer service rules and as previously said "Carlos Murillo is a nightmare! He is a pushy stereotypical salesman. He tries to bully you into making a decision NOW using threats. So unbelievably rude! I can't believe they allow him to interact with people." . If you're in the market for a new Honda don't waste your time at this place and my advice to you is " You can find all car prices.... MSRP vs Invoice price at nada.com for new car pricing. You can also read reviews/ incentives on any vehicle. There are several factors that will help or hurt you in new car buying . Getting that real good deal / lowest price depends on Supply and Demand at dealerships. Knowing how to Negotiate ( getting as many dealerships involved as far as your willing to travel to. ) Using the Internet's emails and direct phone calls to the Int. Mgr. Buying closer to months end. That is the formula for having less stress finding a good deal and getting a good price. Wait till the end of the month to nail that good deal. Your target price is 1500 to 2k below DEALER'S INVOICE PRICE (NOT MSRP). If you get the low or high end of this target price you have done well. Use this as your guide "") Good luck read more

I'm writing this review (my first yelp review) after purchasing three different cars at Honda World Downey. I can say unequivocally, that this is one of the best places to buy or lease a car. In each of these different times that we have gone to Honda World Downey, the experiences has been courteous, professional and with my best interest in my mind. I especially want to thank the Manager, Vincent, for running such a great organization and to Joe for his recent help in getting our third car. Honda World has a great variety of cars available, the dealership is very clear and has wonderful popcorn! From the moment you arrive, someone is there to greet you and to provide guidance if you needed it to get a car. Whether you do or do not have the best credit, these professionals truly help to make the car buying/leasing process haggle free and thorough. Then there is the test drive - a pleasant experience and a real help to make a decision about the car. At Honda World Downey they will help you to achieve your goals. If you are on the market for a new car (or used) you want to come here. Each time we have had a great experience. So much so that we are planning to return when we need another vehicle. I was looking to purchase two Honda Accord EXLs last weekend and started the dreaded contacting of dealers. I had already contacted 15 other dealers and been through all the normal games when I got a hold of Tony N., Internet Sales Manager. I contacted him via e-mail to start and was very surprised at how upfront and honest he was. He gave me a quote which was too high for me but after a few back and forths we came to an agreement. We then talked on the phone to finalize the deal and again I was amazed at his professionalism. When I got to Honda World, Tony already had the vehicles washed and ready. Everything that we had agreed upon was as we had agreed with no bait and switch or shady tactics.The whole process once we got to the dealership took about 3 hours. This was way too long, but it seemed they had a few challenging finances going on, so I will give them a pass. Mel C., Finance, completed our paperwork in a timely manner and was a funny(a rarity for a finance guy). The overall experience at Honda World Downey was excellent. I would recommend this dealer to anyone looking to get a no nonsense deal. If Tony ever left this dealership I would actually buy a car from wherever he goes. After having been rejected from a car dealer, they recommended that we go to Honda World that is located at Downey. But before making the long trip, I decided to give a call. Antonio Teposte was the dealer who received my call and was patient enough to listen to the whole story before giving us a confirmation. To our surprised, he guaranteed that we would be able to get a car on that same day. He even told us to make a list in what to bring in order to not make the process any longer than it has to be. As soon as we arrived, he treated us with respect and like a friend. He was really kind and went through the paper work as quickly as possible but also correctly. I had an amazing experiencing at Honda world because not only did they keep their promise but were able to let me buy a car that was in my price range. Although I might have been too picky, he was still nice and patient enough to finally show me a car that I wanted. Thank you Antonio Teposte for making my day and for letting me have my first car!!!! I would 100% recommend anyone who is looking for a car to shop at Honda World Downey because not only are they friendly but also try to give you the best car deals as they possibly can. I came to this dealership to purchase a brand new Honda Accord on 08/24/15. This is the second car I bought at this dealership. The first one I bought was Honda Accord 2007. It was eight years ago but it is still in excellent condition now. The reasons I like to come back to buy car at Honda World Downey are the price, the kindness of the salesmen, the service, and the warm and welcome environment. I am very happy with both purchase for the cars at this dealership. That is why I always referred many relatives and friends to this dealership whenever they asked. I am pretty sure the next cars I buy for my sister ( when she has driver license) and my daughter ( when she goes to college) will be Honda at Honda World Downey. Mr. Antonio is my salesman at this time. He and his manager Mr. Saul (manager) are very nice and helpful. They helped me to buy a very wonderful car. They made me love Honda more and it will become the first car I think whenever I plan to buy or recommend to anybody. They will be the ones we refer to our friends and relatives.
