Avoid Precision Honda - Unprofessional and Retaliatory My husband and I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Norwalk Honda over the weekend, followed by completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior from their team. My husband had been in communication with Ashley prior to our arrival, and they were supposedly expecting us. We went in specifically to test drive a Honda Pilot. Upon walking in, we were greeted a few times but never actually helped. When we asked for Ashley, she never showed up. Eventually, a manager came over and asked if we needed assistance. We told him we were there for a test drive, and he walked away, leaving us waiting yet again. After 20 minutes of being ignored and shoved aside, we decided to leave. We drove straight to Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos, and the difference was night and day. Within 5 minutes of arriving, we were sitting inside a Honda Pilot. The real issue, however, started after we left. My husband sent a follow-up text to the Norwalk Honda team letting them know he would be leaving a bad review due to the lack of service. In retaliation, someone at Norwalk Honda entered my husband's contact information into a mass inquiry system. He was then bombarded with non-stop spam calls from other dealerships. My husband has been in the automotive industry for many years, so we know exactly how the process should work and were expecting a completely different experience. We are serious buyers with a lease expiring soon, and Precesion Honda completely lost our business. So much for the "Helpful Honda People." I went to their website to order parts. I filled out a form that requested contact info and parts information such as part number and description. This was strictly to order parts, a parts inquiry. Few minutes later I am receiving automated email from Jessica providing me information on vehicles I inquired about and asking to set up an appointment. I unsubscribe, I never inquired about a vehicle, it was only for parts. The email was trying to sell me the vehicle I inquired about for parts. I know it's all automated so they need to fix their system. The following morning, I received another email (after I unsubscribed) this time from Janet, again offering me information on vehicles I inquired about, trying to sell me a vehicle instead of offering me information on the parts I inquired about. So don't even bother using their parts order request form, they will just use it to spam you to sell a car instead of the parts you need. read more

Great buying process ruined by zero post-sale support and Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) non-compliance. BUYER BEWARE! The Good: The initial buying process was smooth. Anthony in sales was low pressure, and Hugo in finance handled the paperwork quickly and efficiently. The Catch: After taking delivery of my 2024 Honda Civic, I was only given 1 key fob and remote. I reviewed my paperwork and discovered the entire "Documentation / Keys / Manuals" section of the official HondaTrue 182-Point Inspection checklist was left completely blank. American Honda CPO rules explicitly mandate two working OEM key remotes upon delivery, but they only handed me one. When I asked about it, I was told the previous owner didn't turn in both keys. That is not how Certified Pre-Owned works. It is Precision Honda's responsibility as a certified dealership to cut and program a second key prior to listing and selling a vehicle as CPO. The Ghosting: I reached out administratively to resolve this, sending 3 separate follow-up emails this past week to multiple team members, including Anthony, Juan, and General Sales Manager Dennis. They have completely ignored every single communication attempt once the ink was dry on the contract. The Concern: If Precision Honda leaves CPO inspection sections completely blank and bypasses corporate rules on keys to save themselves a couple of hundred dollars, how can buyers trust that they actually inspected the critical mechanical and safety systems on the car? This behavior is non-compliant and dishonest. I will gladly update this review if management reaches out and fulfills their HondaTrue CPO obligations. Unfortunately, the excellent customer service ended the moment we signed on the bottom line. Two weeks ago, we purchased a certified 2022 Honda Civic for my daughter before she returns to college in August. We were pressed for time, and Precision Honda had a vehicle that met our needs. Our sales associate, Jose Magallana, was friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the sales process, so we decided to purchase the car. However, on the drive home, multiple warning lights suddenly lit up on the freeway, including the check engine light and several sensor warnings. My daughter immediately called Jose, who said it was probably a battery issue and advised us to bring the car back Monday through Friday because the service department was closed for the weekend. He also recommended having a diagnostic test performed to be safe. Although we don't live far away, the dealership is still about a 40-minute drive. The following Monday, I texted Jose to ask him if I could take the car to the nearest Honda dealer instead. He said he would speak to his manager, and later called me back to say it would be fine. He also told me that if there were any charges, to contact him because either the two dealerships could work it out internally or Precision Honda would reimburse us. Because of my work schedule, I wasn't able to take the car in until the following Saturday. By then, the warning lights had disappeared. The Honda dealership tested the battery and found no issues. They explained that a diagnostic scan would cost $160 and that dealerships typically do not reimburse customers for that expense. They recommended taking the car back to Precision Honda if the warning lights returned. We also discovered that the second key fob Jose gave us did not work. Unfortunately, we didn't test it before leaving the dealership. I texted Jose, and we agreed on a date and time for me to bring the car in so the fob could be programmed. When I arrived, Jose wasn't there. Instead of honoring the appointment, the floor manager, Chris Gonzales, immediately questioned me as though I was lying about the appointment. I assured him I had a text from Jose. I explained the reason for the appointment and he took the fob. He returned and repeatedly asked where I got the key fob, who gave it to me, and whether I owned another Honda. I explained several times that Jose had given me the fob, yet I still felt as though I was being accused of lying. Eventually, Chris informed me that the fob Jose had given us was actually for a Honda truck, not our Civic. They were able to solve the issue, and Chris told me he would not charge me for the "inconvenience". While I appreciate that the issue was ultimately resolved, the way I was treated throughout the interaction was unacceptable I have owned Hondas and Acuras my entire driving life and have purchased several vehicles over the years. I have never experienced customer service this poor. It's disappointing that a certified pre-owned vehicle had issues immediately after purchase and that our concerns were met with skepticism instead of professionalism. I'm writing my second review for Precision Honda of Downey, and unfortunately my experience has only gotten worse. Like most dealerships, they are very friendly and helpful when you're buying a car. But once you drive off the lot, everything changes. I purchased a used car and, knowing it might have issues, I also bought an extended warranty. What I did NOT expect was for problems to start within the first 30 days. First, the check engine light came on. I brought it in, and they said it was a sensor. It was supposedly fixed, but the SAME DAY, the light came back on. I called them and had to bring the car back again. This time, they said it was another sensor and that they would submit it to the warranty and get back to me. Two weeks went by--no call, no update. Then a new problem started: a noise coming from the front passenger wheel. At first I ignored it, but it got worse. One day on the highway, the vibration got so bad it honestly felt like the wheel might come off. I called and made an appointment immediately. The service rep drove with me, heard the issue, and had me pull back into the lot right away. They said they needed to inspect it and send it to the warranty department. I asked for a loaner car since I rely on my vehicle for work--denied. They told me to get a rental and that insurance would cover it... which turned out to be completely false. After three days of hearing nothing, I had to call them myself. They told me it was a suspension issue--but conveniently, the extended warranty wouldn't cover it. No real explanation, just "it's not covered." When I asked what they could do, considering I had only owned the car for about 45 days, they told me to talk to the salesman about getting into another car. That turned into another nightmare. I showed up on a Saturday, and the original salesperson wasn't even there. They had someone else show me cars, and after test driving a few, they brought in a used car manager named Saul. The interaction was uncomfortable from the start--he randomly insisted on speaking Spanish, then immediately started commenting on my credit. I stopped him and made it clear: I already know my credit situation, and the ONLY reason I'm even considering another car is because of the issues with the one THEY sold me. He came back with an offer: $5,000 down and $556/month. He called it a "good deal" because they were "taking the car back." In reality, that down payment basically covers what I already paid--so I'd be paying all over again. Then he made a completely inappropriate comment: that the finance guy said I "make good money" and should be able to afford it. That is absolutely none of their business. Overall, this has been a terrible experience from start to finish--poor communication, lack of accountability, and zero customer support after the sale. My aunt bought a 2020 Nissan Sentra from here and if I would have read the reviews before going I'd definitely never buy a car here. A few days after purchasing the car she was already having issues. They had to replace the battery. Now the car brakes out of no where and I have taken it to Precision Honda where they said we don't work on that car ,take it to Nissan. Not only did we have to take it to Nissan I have to keep paying stupid diagnostic fees. Tried to go get an oil change and was told they only service Honda and Acura. I don't understand why would you sell a car you don't work on or can't even help out with ? They have been no help and now I'm afraid to drive my car because the emergency brakes just go off on their own and has became a driving hazard. I normally never leave reviews, but what happened today at Precision Honda Downey was one of the most unprofessional and misleading dealership experiences I've ever had. I came in with a very simple request: complete a lease buyout using my approved outside financing from SchoolsFirst Credit Union. What I experienced instead was: Repeated pressure to sign a dealer financing contract I did not want Despite telling multiple employees that I already had a credit union draft check, I was repeatedly presented with a LAW 553 retail installment sales contract, which is ONLY for dealer financing--not a lease buyout. Staff, including manager Dean El-Hayek, and another man, pretending not to know how to process a standard lease buyout I was told things like: * "We've never heard of a lease buyout purchase agreement." * "You HAVE to sign our financing contract first." * "There is no other paperwork." This is completely false. Honda dealers process outside-financed lease buyouts every day. A forced hard credit inquiry they now admit was a mistake Even though I told them I was not applying for dealer financing, Alex Rios ran a hard credit pull which was NOT required. They later provided a written letter admitting it should NOT have been a hard pull and asking Experian to remove it -- which says everything about how unnecessary it was. Being pressured, misled, and talked over whenever I asked questions I was given contradictory information, shown "example" contracts designed to look like real financing agreements, and pushed to sign documents that had nothing to do with my lease buyout. I ultimately had to walk out because they refused to process the buyout correctly After several hours, it became clear they simply would not acknowledge or complete the standard, simple, outside-financed buyout process. At first everyone is so nice just because they want to make the sale but once something goes wrong with the vehicle and you tell them they seem annoyed. I purchased a 2025 Prologue 8/15/2025 The vehicle was still in the parking lot getting charged. When I noticed that they had scuffed the passenger door. The sales representative named Jen said she would go speak with her supervisor to see what we can do. She came back and notified us that if we wanted to get it fixed, it would be a whole process and it would take long so she offered us compensation which she said I could go ahead and provide you with gas for another vehicle. That what we agreed for that issue. August 19,2025 the car was taken in because we noticed the rear ac wasn't working. Also there was a gap in the headlight and the bumper and also a crack in the back of the middle screen. They couldn't provide me with a rental because the don't work with INFINITY Insurance so they proceeded to contact there 3rd party car rental place they weren't answering. We were so frustrated because not only did we have to take a care back that was purchased 4 day ago but we had both kids there through this process. It took them three days to return the vehicle. Mind you when we took in our prologue we had just spend $50 to charge it whent to pick it up didn't even bother to charge it back up to the miles it had. The day we dropped it off the sale person Jen told us she would see what she can compensate us with due to this issue. Never Heard from her. I've txted her and asked if she would be able to ask her supervisor if they can compensate us with a portable charger. That probably dosent coast them anything to give out for free. NOPE didn't hear from her. When the vehicle was pick up they asked if they would give us a charger for free for the inconvenience. NOPE what did they do they sent a Honda greeter to tell us that the sale person Jen wasn't in. Not even a supervisor was able to come and speak with us. Prior to purchasing the 2025 prologue I had a 1996 Toyota Corolla. Dam if I knew I was gonna go through this I would have just fix my old car. Do I recommend this place NO. As I sat in my chair waiting I saw other customers completing their deals and their salesmen putting their big bows on their car and taking pictures of the customer with their new car. It felt like my salesman wanted to complete the deal and send me off. I wanted my picture taken with my new car as it was a proud moment for me so I asked him for the bow. As we were finishing up and almost heading out of the lot Armando Gutierrez walked near me and congratulated me on my new purchase and car, he asked me if the salesman explained to me all the features and buttons and I said actually he didn't. He also noticed that my paper plates did not have a plate cover and when Armando asked why it didn't have covers the salesman said "oh we ran out" Armando then went out of his way to make sure I did not leave without a plate cover. Armando took his time and explained everything about the car so well to me, I was extremely happy and it made up for the service I didn't receive from my salesman. During the sales process, I was told I'd receive EV credits for purchasing the car, but that never happened. I understand that I bought a used vehicle, but that should've been communicated more clearly upfront instead of being promised something that didn't apply. On top of that, I was surprised to find out the car didn't include a charger. I know it's common for either chargers or ev credits to be included with new models, so I assumed there would be one--again, better transparency would've gone a long way. I've followed up several times since buying the car regarding the above, but the dealership has been dismissive to my messages every time. When I drove the car off the lot and tried out the moon roof... the button literally fell off which was a bit alarming. All in all, I'm happy with the car, but I walked away feeling like the process was more about upselling and less about building trust. A little more clarity and customer-focused communication would've made a big difference. read more

This was our second purchase at Honda World Downey and the experiences were both great. They are kind, helpful, informative and not pushy. We showed up with a vehicle in mind and decided to proceed with the purchase, they did everything in their power to negotiate for us (not against us) to walk out with the transaction we were happy with. While we purchased the vehicle "as is", there were still a couple of things that sales made sure to create a "due bill" for then let us know. That was very kind of him to notice something wrong and bring it to our attention. In finance was great too, very helpful and detailed. After taking it home, a light went on for the tire pressure system, an appointment was made and all sensors were replaced with no hesitation. The manager of pre-owned vehicles, Brad, personally made sure that that EVERY promise made to us was delivered. He's friendly and his job didn't end when we drove off the lot.
