Unfortunately, my experience has continued to get worse. Since trading in my vehicle to Downey Hyundai, I have continued receiving traffic, parking, and toll violation notices for the vehicle I traded in. To date, I have received six (6) citations, with the most recent arriving just two days ago--nearly two months after my trade-in. This indicates that my trade-in was not properly processed or the ownership was not transferred in a timely manner. As a result, I have spent countless hours disputing violations and worrying about my driving record and financial liability for a vehicle I no longer own. Since yesterday, we exchanged countless text messages regarding a specific vehicle. In addition, I made a confirmation call at 8:12 AM this morning to verify whether the vehicle was available and ready before visiting the dealership. Based on these communications, we were instructed to come in. However, upon arriving at the dealership at 10:05 AM, the assigned sales representative, Andrea Rodriguez, was not present. After waiting, around 10:15 AM, an assistant informed us that the vehicle we came to see -- a 2023 Chevrolet Express Cargo 2500 RWD -- could not be sold due to a transmission issue. This information should have been confirmed and disclosed before asking us to make the trip. Checking the condition of the vehicle and confirming whether it is sellable is the most basic responsibility of a dealership. Failing to do so, despite extensive communication and a same-day confirmation call, shows a serious lack of internal coordination and professionalism. Additionally, contacting a customer at 8:12 AM for confirmation is inappropriate. Any confirmation should be made after at least 9:00 AM via call or text to ensure proper acknowledgment. Because of this poor communication and lack of verification, we spent a significant amount of time traveling in the LA area unnecessarily. This entire situation could have been easily avoided with proper vehicle inspection, accurate information, and respectful communication. Instead, our time and effort were completely disregarded. I am extremely disappointed with the service department at Downey Hyundai. I brought my car in because Apple CarPlay stopped working. I paid for a diagnostic, but the technicians were unable to repair the problem. They determined that the next step would be to replace the USB assembly. I never received a call from the service manager when the part became available, so I scheduled another appointment in March. When I arrived, I was told the part was unavailable. The staff apologized and said they would reorder it. Unfortunately, I became busy and wasn't able to return immediately. This week, I called to schedule the repair. I was told I would need to pay another $250 diagnostic fee because, according to the service department, diagnostic results are only valid for six months. During the call, I assumed that timeframe had already expired. However, after I got home and checked my receipt, I realized my original diagnostic was from February, so it is within six months and should still be valid under the policy they described to me. I then attempted to schedule the repair online, but my appointment was never confirmed. I also left a message for management asking why they would not simply schedule the repair using the existing diagnosis or explain why another diagnostic was necessary. No one returned my calls. Poor communication, lack of follow-through, and an unwillingness to return customer calls have made this an incredibly frustrating experience. I don't usually leave reviews but after the incident with Tony from Downey Hyundai last night I feel like I have to, to warn other people about Tony at this location. Tony tried changing the original price I had agreed to with the other salesman. After I raised concern, Tony insulted me by yelling and cursing at me telling me F you and calling me an A-hole and did it in front of my family. The crazy thing is I hadn't even dealt with Tony until the last minute. He came into the finance guys office angry trying to intimidate me into a price I hadn't agreed to. He was rude and hostile from the moment he started speaking. He screamed the entire time and as we were leaving he was still screaming from his office yelling for us to leave and saying that he ran the place. It seems like I'm not the only person that's had issues with Tony. There are several reviews showing how he comes in aggressively trying to intimidate people. Brought my car on Tuesday May 19th at 8:30 am because my fuel door was not opening. After 3 hours they did confirm that the part was defective. They told me they had to order it. On Saturday May 23rd I got a call and they told me the part was in. I asked if they were open on Memorial Day and they said yes. I asked them to give me the earliest possible as I needed my car right away. I got an appointment at 7:30am. It is now 1:30pm and my car is still not ready. I came in person and they said my car won't be ready until 3:30pm. Over 8 hours to fix a latch on a gas door is ridiculous. I told them why can't they communicate that to me that the part they received was defective so I would make the determination if I should come back. That's where the positive experience ended. When we got to pricing, I received the classic "let me talk to my manager" routine. The salesman returned with what he called "great news": they would sell me the vehicle for $5,000 over MSRP, plus financing at 1.25 points above Hyundai's advertised rate. They never even ran my credit to justify this inflated interest rate. When I asked for an explanation, the best they could offer was that the color combination was "in high demand" (which apparently justified the markup) and that their interest rate was "a great rate" (it absolutely was not). No real answers, just sales tactics. I left and drove to Southbay Hyundai in Torrance. They found me the identical vehicle in the colors I wanted, treated me with respect, and earned my business with straightforward, honest pricing. Do not buy or lease a vehicle from Downey Hyundai. I initially avoided this dealership because several people warned me that they sometimes change agreed-upon terms at the last minute. Unfortunately, that was exactly my experience. I only contacted Downey Hyundai because they had the exact vehicle I wanted. After negotiating a lease, we agreed on both the amount due at signing and the monthly payment which was approved by the GSM. Those terms were confirmed in writing via text message. However, when I arrived at the dealership to complete the transaction, I was told that the GM would not honor the deal and that the monthly payment would be approximately $80 higher than what had been agreed upon. I ultimately leased the car there but due to their classic bait and switch practices I had to pay more than the previously agreed in writing amount. The salesperson I worked with was professional throughout the process, but my interactions with management were overwhelmingly negative as even after admitting they had initially approved the original price, the GSM would not speak with me face to face. Also I tried to reach the GM for over 3 weeks to discuss my experience but he never returned the call. If a dealership confirms a deal in writing, customers should be able to rely on those terms. Kenny, our salesperson, was very helpful from the moment we arrived, and his manager worked with us to get the deal we were looking for. This was the third Hyundai dealership we visited, and needless to say, we finally found and purchased the car we loved. We've been enjoying our new ride ever since! However, I'm disappointed in how a post-purchase issue has been handled. The car I bought was pre-owned and already had tinted windows. A warning sticker placed directly on the window by the dealership got caught when the window was rolled down and tore the tint. I called as soon as it happened (9/4) to ask how it could be resolved, since the sticker was put on by the dealership. After multiple follow-ups and a visit to the dealership yesterday (9/16), I was told the only option was for me to pay for the repair because I "bought the car that way." This has been frustrating because: * The damage was caused by a sticker applied by the dealership, not normal wear and tear. * I was initially quoted for all four windows, then later told only one window at full price with no discount. * Communication was poor; I had to repeat the same information several times over nearly two weeks to get a clear answer to the same individual. For a dealership with such great sales service, I expected the after-sales support to reflect the same standard. My experience with Hyundai Dunway was extremely disappointing. I came in to lease a brand-new car and ended up spending almost the entire day at the dealership. The process kept getting delayed, and by the time everything was finished it was already dark outside. After signing the paperwork, the car was brought out in the evening. While the sales manager, Pamela, was distracting me with conversation, another employee was installing the temporary plates. Because it was dark and I trusted the dealership, I didn't realize anything was wrong. The next morning, in daylight, I discovered damage on the rear bumper and noticed the license plate lights were missing, which made the car illegal to drive at night. When I contacted the dealership, they did not deny that the damage had already been there and offered to repair it for free. However, I had come to lease a brand-new car, not a damaged one. The very next day I asked to cancel the deal. Instead of resolving the situation, I was pressured and told that since I had already signed the paperwork, canceling the deal would result in serious penalties and could damage my credit. I was essentially made to feel like I had no choice but to keep the car and accept their repair. The situation dragged on for about a month. During that time I was already paying for the lease but could barely use the car. From the moment I discovered the problem until the car was finally taken to the body shop, I had to drive to the dealership five separate times trying to resolve the issue. No customer should have to go through this when leasing a new vehicle. Based on my experience, I strongly do not recommend dealing with this dealership, especially with the manager Pamela. read more

In my opinion,this is a dirty dealership. Don't ever come here. My experience was they tried to tell me my engine needed to be replaced and got my vehicle warranty branded in the process. They also tried to sell me a new engine when my car only needed a new sensor. Also, during the process of all of this happening, I found out that they forged my signature and ordered a part off of my warranty for a service that I didn't get. I have the proof. Back in 6/2021 when I made the minsinformed choice of going to them to get my AC fixed, they kept my car for almost a month and gave it back to me with no gas and 200 extra miles on my car. They tried to say it was because they had to run my ac. I had to contact Hyundai on Twitter to get movement on my car. Then they ordered another compressor a year later, and forged my signature on the service order when I never went back to them for an ac or service after I got my car back the first time. At the time, I wasnt aware of this. I only found out because I was forced to return to them in 12/2024, because they are the closest to my house and my check engine light was flashing and I thought it wasn't drivable. Right away the tech told me because of the code( that I got from the diagnostic device at auto zone) that it was going to need a new engine, without even checking my car. Aftter my car had been there over the Christmas holiday,Downey Hyundai tells me that corporate refused to replace my engine because of missing oil change records that I didnt get even have a chance to get because it was Christmas and I wasnt made aware until after the fact. I took my car to 2 other dealerships because I had a gut feeling that Downey Hyundai was being deceptive. Both dealerships ran a requured bearings check on my engine and confirmed my car only needed a sensor. In the process of Downey Hyndai trying to get an engine I didnt need, corporate branded my warranty because I didnt really need an engine. Even though Hyundai was sued for these exact problems relating to their engines. Now, if there is an issue that should be covered by my warranty, I have to pay out of pocket because my vehicle has been branded, even though though there were manufacturing issue with these cars. I will never buy a Hyundai car again and I dont recommend using Downey Hyundai ever. Go to Norm Reeves in Cerritos or Garden Grove Hyundai. They were excellent in assisting me with my car. There was a tracking device most likely left by previous owner of vehicle it was duct taped to the back in a very sneaky way. My wife and daughters could potentially be in danger because the previous owner has been tracking us for the last few days since we bought the vehicle from Hyundai Downey. Apparently they don't think it's of any concern that their inspection of the vehicle left a tracking device that was working and my phone kept notifying me that someone was tracking me whenever I drove anywhere. I brought this up to Ali the sales guy that sold it to me and he said "it's been three days, this should have been noticed immediately. Nothing we can do to remedy the situation, it's on you that it wasn't found for days." This is really wild.
