    Sheppard Pie - Lamb

A unique food shop in the Bay Area. Walking into the store, you have a sense of personality to it. The owner of this shop reflects the friendly atmosphere of it. The cook too. I got two pies from there, you can get it either frozen or cooked. This place has the most unique pie flavors and classics of course. I found the curry the most unique, and fresh. There is both indoor eating and outdoor eating, and parking wasn't an issue when I was there. I would recommend this place. Love the food, and friendly staff.

My client said he'd buy me lunch if i promise to drop him off at his stylist after our appointment. According to Yelp, this restaurant is along the way and i like pot pies so we stopped here for lunch. We ended up getting the Tuesday Lunch Special of Swedish meatballs & noodles for $12.50. I wanted the pies but my client placed the order & paid before i made up my mind. Oh well, now i have a reason to come back

Cute little pie shop and deli, hidden in an industrial building in Hayward, with plenty of savory options for lunch last week. Got the classic american chicken pot pie, and it was served hot (50 cents extra for heated pies vs frozen) and ready in less than 10 minutes. It was delicious, filled with large chunks of white meat free range chicken and potatoes, as well as bits of carrots and peas, the pie crust baked just right with a nice buttery flavor... a perfectly satisfying meal. A welcoming atmosphere where the staff felt like family. The space is bigger than it looks, including indoor seating and a fish tank with various fish I heard the worker, possibly the owner, telling stories about to a customer. There's even an additional room full of tables and seating and lovely decor and artwork on the walls. Hours are limited (only open till 3pm), but the steady flow of customers on a Thursday afternoon, many of which were seemingly regulars, tells me that this place must be doing something good that has people coming back for more.

I finally stopped by to try this pot pie shop near my workplace. I found them while searching for local eats and was really intrigued by all the different flavors they make into pot pies, since I've only really tried the classic chicken pot pie. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of most of the flavors but I ended up getting a ready to eat bavarian roast pork pot pie. The lady at the counter explained most are sold out right now due to timing of the farmers markers they sell at and the holidays. But you can always call in to check what flavors they have! The bavarian roast pork pot pie I got was 5" and was about $12 total. I believe they charge a small fee to heat up the pot pie for you, as you can buy frozen ones as well. The pot pie was nicely baked upon pulling it out of the bag (I ordered togo). The top was crispy and perfectly golden. After removing a part of the top, I was really surprised to find that the inside was loaded with toppings! Huge chunks of pork as well as carrots, peas, and potatoes. They really didn't skimp out even though the pot pie is only 5" and I'm super thrilled about that. I thought the pot pie had good flavor and the filling was cooked well. The only things I would say is it probably could have used more salt and the dough on the bottom and sides were a bit soggy. I think it's par for the course but I would have liked it a bit more crispy so that it could hold up to the filling better. The store has a seating area if you want to dine in and staff are super nice. They have a TV display showing what's available so you choose what you want. I'd definitely go back to try more unique flavors!

Found this hidden gem on a drive one day going to work and I knew I had to make time to stop by. I was very excited to try the various pies given the range of flavors and options! I decided to go with the classic American chicken pot pie, because I figured you can't go wrong with a classic for a first try. And it definitely held up to my expectations! The crust was flakey, buttery, and so savory and the chucks of chicken were hearty and plentiful! Paired with the peas, carrots and melt in your mouth potatoes. It definitely hit the spot on a gloomy day! I ate it in the store so there's an additional $0.50 charge for that but they also have plenty of frozen pies as well! It's a cute little shop ran by some of the nicest staff and the sweetest owner who is often seen at the register. If you have the chance, make sure to stop by to find your favorite pie! It may be hard to locate because it's in a very industrial area and on the corner of a warehouse type building, but once you find it you'll be glad you did!

I wanted to love this chicken pot pie more but it was dryer than my liking. Would love to go back and try other flavors such as their bulgogi!

Came here for a quick lunch at the recommendation of a friend and was blown away! If you like pot pies, this is truly a pot pie paradise, one you won't soon forget. Tip: They are only open until 3 p.m. most days and popular items tend to sell out quickly so I would swing by earlier if there's a specific menu item you wanted to try. I wanted the lamb shepherd's pie and the lobster seafood pie, but they were both sold out so I settled for a traditional chicken pot pie with a side of soup. The menu items are of a decent size; I was full after both pie and soup (and I tend to have a heartier appetite than most). The service was friendly and relatively quick, and while I didn't opt to eat in, there are plenty of small tables for those who want a dine-in experience (probably not good for large groups though). Best of all, the menu is extensive with a list of pies galore - and so many interesting flavors and combinations to choose from (including Kobe beef, chicken masala, and much more). I'm definitely coming back again when I next have a craving for pot pie!

What a GEM! And a hidden one at that. Celebrated Thanksgiving a bit early with #ThankYouThursday and decided to check out pot pie paradise after seeing the great reviews on Yelp. I'm not normally a pot pie type of person, but with the cold weather, it was definitely the way to go. Pot Pie Paradise is nestled in an industrial part of Hayward so it's a bit of a drive through back roads to get there. They've got a decent parking lot and when I stopped by after lunch time, it wasn't too busy. They have a really helpful menu that shows all the options they have for pies, sandwiches, and other lunch choices. It's also updated to show which pies they're sold out of. I wanted to try the bulgogi beef but unfortunately they were sold out that day. Instead, I went for the Thai chicken curry. The Thai chicken curry pot pie ($10) had noodles, green beans, chicken, and carrots in it. It was delicious! I don't usually have noodles with thai chicken curry but it worked here. It's a pretty good portion for lunch and can maybe even be shared with two people. Though for me, I ended up just having the rest later for dinner. The service was great and the staff was very helpful. I loved reading the newspaper articles they have posted around the shop as I waited. They've got lots of seating inside if you prefer to dine in but I opted to take it to-go. Such a great local business! I'll definitely be back to try other pot pie options.

Delicious Lemon Caper - Chicken pie.

For a long time I avoided this place after ordering a weak sandwich.. But obviously this place is known for their pies, so I finally gave-in to try a pice today because I wanted something comforting. Unfortunately their menu does not offer much of a description nor pictures of the food items... I wasn't enthused about ordering the Lemon Caper-Chicken but now I may order it again soon! It comes with rice, kale and zucchini! Idk the amount of calories but I am satisfied. I would be careful about any possible aluminum sticking to your pie on the sides of the crust... I noticed a speck on my pie and picked it off. Other than that, I plan to be back again. Menus should be more descriptive so the food items sell itself on display. Picture visuals help too!

Yum, we came here for Pi Day and were surprised to find so much variety. I'm a big fan of savory and they had so many non-traditional savory pies we couldn't try them all even though we bought six! A sweet lady owns this and she'll make your day better just with her kind and humble attitude, her effort and hard work apparent in each pot pie you buy. They taste "homemade" in a very good way without all the preservatives and unknowns from store bought frozen pot pies. The mini Pies are $8 and the larger ones are $32. We bought these minis: -2 Classic American Chicken: Kids loved it, would repeat, taste much better than any frozen grocery store one. -Country Style Pot Roast: Wife loved this one, nice big pieces of beef with potatoes, carrots, green beans, and onions. -Lamb Shepherd Pie: I loved this one, lamb was excellent and the potatoes came out perfect with a nice char layer on top. -Creole Gumbo: Would have just liked the gumbo by itself, it had a lot of Okra but it needed to be washed and dried more to minimize the slime. -Pork Chile Verde: Surprisingly spicy, only I could eat this and it was too hot for the kids or wife. Note the heating instructions are for thawed pies, our seemed thawed but where still frozen and took longer to heat than the 25 minutes at 365 on the packaging.

I first was introduced to pot pie paradise by trying them at the local farmers market, so I was glad to finally make it to their actual store front. They're located in a more industrialized area but look to be a favorite of the nearby businesses. While they're of course known for their pot pies (soooo many different flavors!), they do also serve salads, soups, and sandwiches. Currently because of the pandemic they don't have any indoor seating, but they do have an outdoor seating area on the side where you can sit and enjoy your meal. So far I've been able to try their Thai chicken curry pot pie, their spicy duck with red curry pot pie, Hungarian beef goulash pot pie, and today their classic American chicken pot pie. No matter what you pick here, you won't be disappointed!

But don't think there are multiple locations...yet. Upon receiving my sandwiches, it was wrapped in a paper with their company logo, and from a quick glance it is super similar to the Jersey Mikes logo in terms of color, so it has a real familiar vibe. No hate just an observation. This used to be another restaurant (maybe even several) on the edge of an industrial zone/business park, but also not too far from several shopping strips. There's spacious seating inside, but in the later afternoon when I went, nobody was eating in. But quite a few take-out and third party pick-ups. I even saw a poster showcasing their catering aspect for common work lunches on the company dime. Good for them. Niles Canyon ($14.50/4*) I opted to up this to their combo meal which includes a bag of chips and a soda for another $5. So this was easily a $20 lunch meal without tipping yet. Pricey yes, but not because they are pricier than most, but that is just the going rate for eating a meal outside these days. $15 - $20 per person are common and anything under $15 is now considered cheap eats and getting harder to run into. This sandwich had slightly warmed up deli turkey that when stacked with the swiss cheese slices, kinda softened the cheese. It wasn't ooey gooey but the cheese wasn't firm and cold either. There was another layer of prosciutto as well which wasn't too noticeable but did add another dimension. I chose to go with the full produce choice, as I love the freshness of veggies to go with meat sandwiches. There was also a layer of fresh avo slices which lent a creamy richness to the bites. I tried one of their sliced breads to go for this sandwich, as I tried a sourdough roll for another sandwich that I got to-go for my work lunch the next day. That way I got to sample their bread offerings. Their sliced marbled rye bread is thick sliced, very soft and moist with a good bread chew. They use a good bread supplier for sure. On top of mayo and mustard which is common, they also put their Bomb Sauce which seems like a garlic-y spread of sorts. I can definitely smell it, but the taste isn't overly strong. I'd say super similar to Mr Pickles. Prosciutto Sandwich ($13/4*) This was an all-cold traditional sandwich. I took a couple of bites there to see how it was fresh from the counter, and I ate the rest the next day at work. I gotta say I liked it better the next day as all the flavors melded more together. Even tho the veggies get a bit mushier, I've always liked a well dressed salad sensation in sandwiches, kinda like a Muffeletta sandwich where it is refrigerated overnight, meant to be eaten the next day. Their prosciutto isn't the old school imported version, or at least I've never had one quite like it. I'm assuming a domestic version, even seemed more like cappicola to me as I sensed a tinge of fennel up in there. So pretty satisfied with my first visit. I'll definitely get sandwiches here again for work or day trip lunches. Pretty much on the same level as Togo's or Mr. Pickles, but just more local. With sandwich names as The Quarry Lakes, The Decoto and The Dumbarton, just pulls on my local lovin' heartstrings. Props.

Every single ingredient was fresh and high quality. The flavors were unmatched. And the bread was perfectly airy and crunchy, without scraping my entire roof of my mouth. We thanked the cashier and went home. Normally, I'm not a sandwich guy. Today, after working outside in the sun, I was hungry and had a craving for something filling and cold. Macaroni Salad was on my mind. I looked that up on Yelp and Bara's was reasonably close. I also saw a Shrimp Salad that looked pretty good online. When we arrived home, I proceeded to take pictures of our meal. Sigh. Instead of Macaroni Salad, we got Potato Salad. Not quite the same. A quick peek at my receipt and I saw that the wrong key must have been pressed. I should have checked my receipt after I paid. The cashier should have repeated the order before sending it. The Potato Salad didn't satisfy my craving for Macaroni Salad, but I wasn't about to drive back to exchange it. The flavor was unique though, in that it had a cheesy flavor. The Shrimp Salad was not good. Flavor wise, it was okay with a little bit of heat. But texture wise, it was a mess. If Shrimp was supposed to be cooked for two minutes and then dropped into an ice bath, these had been cooked for four minutes and not iced. They were cooked to death. I got a Bay Area Special with Swiss. It was okay. A ton of meat, not so much on the veg. I would prefer more balance. But overall, it was pretty good. She got The Gobbler. She also felt that the meat overwhelmed the veg. Additionally, the cranberry sauce was overwhelmed by the cream cheese. We came, we saw, we ate. It'll be a long while before I go after another sandwich.
