    Mushroom Empanadas De Setas
    Taniesha L.

We came here in a large group and was immediately welcomed and seated quickly. The first thing I noticed is that this is not a tradition Mexican restaurant like I had imagined. It is much more. Our waiter was great, good customer service and attentive, we were a large party and he handled us all seamlessly. I ordered a peach lemonade, the chicken dish and empanadas. My husband ordered the steak kale salad and my kids ordered chicken and fries. Everything was soooo bomb! That peach lemonade? The best I have ever tasted in my life, I want to go back to get a pitcher of it. It was THAT good. I had the veggie mushroom empanadas delicious , the whole table wanted to try. My chicken dish was equally as good. The whole experience was a 10/10 . We will definitely be coming back here and highly recommend

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant from start to finish. The food was absolutely on point, especially the fried chicken Benedict perfectly crispy fried chicken paired with rich hollandaise and soft, fluffy bread underneath. It's one of those dishes you don't expect to be that good, but it really stood out and was easily the highlight of the meal. The ceviche Trio was just as impressive. Each portion had fresh, bright flavors with the right balance of citrus and spice, and you could tell the seafood was high quality and very fresh. The service was friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed, which made the whole experience even better. Everything came out at the right time and the staff checked in just enough to make sure we were good. The ambience was also a big plus clean, comfortable, and had a nice relaxed vibe that makes it a great spot for brunch or a casual meal with friends.

I had the most wonderful time dining here the atmosphere is so peaceful vibrant and perfect for a friends gathering. I tried a few dishes with friends and was blown away with the amount of favor each dish had to pack!! The pork belly was tender and crispy a perfect blend seasoned to perfection. The mushroom empanadas were definitely unexpected but very tasty. I would highly recommend trying out this fantastic spot.

My first time going here so I was really excited since it's a Latin vibe! First off, parking was not the greatest. A little on the shady side. Dark and the parking is somewhat tight. I was not liking the location but still excited. Ok, inside is much better. Loving the vibe. The hostess was very friendly. She seated us right away. Our waitress was superb. She was very friendly, chatty, and helpful. We ordered our drinks. My go-to cocktail right now is Hibiscus Margarita with tajin rim.... So yummy! I also ordered their Noche en Paradiso....omg! So good! Now for food. We ordered their beef and also mushroom empanadas for our appetizers. Both are delicious. For our main dish we ordered the Parrillada Mixta. It had a grilled half chicken, Italian sausage, steak, papas bravas, roasted garlic and onions.... So yummy! The men ordered Midwestern Angus Ribeyes.... delicious! Apparently they have salsa lessons and dancing on Sundays so we will definitely go back for that lol.

    Inside time for bottomless mimosas

This is by far the best brunch spot in downtown Hayward. Liliana was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing top-tier customer service. Armando was also great and made the experience even better. Bottomless mimosas for $26 you really can't beat that. The guava mimosa was my favorite. The short rib Benedict was incredible, and the Desayuno Del Toro was packed with flavor. The chimichurri sauce, the spicy potatoes everything was mouthwatering. The atmosphere, energy, and overall vibe were amazing. Highly recommend this place definitely a must-try for brunch.

Food was excellent. Alittle pricy but worth it. Outdoor seating was perfect for my little dog companion. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable of menu with suggestions . This place has a full bar and holds evenings event with a DJ and dancing . Great atmosphere.

Came here for brunch and had a great experience overall. This Latin American spot in downtown Hayward has a beautiful interior and a really nice outdoor patio, which makes it feel perfect for a weekend meal. We were able to get seated without a reservation on a Saturday around 11:30am, which was a pleasant surprise. The steak and eggs were excellent--cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The papas bravado were a standout too, with just the right kick of spice. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. It's a tad on the pricier side for brunch, but honestly, I think it's worth it for the quality of the food and the great, attentive staff. I'm definitely planning to come back to try their dinner, especially since I've heard nothing but great things about it. Solid spot and worth checking out

Came here on a weeknight during dinner. It wasn't busy. We ordered the calamari and ceviche for appetizers. The taro chips with ceviche is always a good pair. While browsing the menu, the server came to take our orders and I told him I wasn't ready yet. He didn't say he could come back but instead started taking others' orders instead. I felt pressured and rushed but I ordered. No problem. The entrees were good. Really enjoyed the skirt steak and beet salad. The only strange thing was that our server asked me if I wanted a box for my food literally while I had my fork in it pre-bite because I was still eating. My friends just looked at me and laughed. I accepted the box but it was such a weird interaction. Our waiter seemed like he was in a rush to kick us out all night. Glad the food improved since the last time I came! But the service is still mid. Weird experience.

Came at 10:30am on a Sunday for brunch. The restaurant was pretty empty at that time but it was getting quite full around noon when we left. Overall, I enjoyed my food. I ordered the short rib benedict. The egg was cooked perfect and I like the hollandaise sauce. However, the short rib was quite salty. The potatoes were seasoned well.

I would say it's a strong 3.5 rounded up to 4! We came on a random Thursday night for a date night. I've heard good things about Casa Del Toro so I wasted to try. Street parking was easy to find at around 8pm. Seated right away. They have two sections separated by a wall. The bar area that looks like it would be nice for drinks and apps. There's 2 large TVs to wach sporting events. We sat in the dining room which was pretty cute. It wasn't that busy when we went, maybe 6 tables while we were seated. Overall food was above average but nothing I'm overly excited about. I had the deconstructed paella. The flavor was good, I like how the sauce had a hint of citrus. The fish was a bit dry but the mussels, scallops and clams were good. My husband the short ribs. Flavor was good but too salty. Short ribs were soft but could be more tender. He usually likes carrots but these ones weren't seasoned well. I like how their menu has suggested wine pairings for each entree. Bread pudding was really good! Service was okay over all. Server was nice but didn't check in as often, even though I noticed he rounded at the other tables more often. I'm used to servers checking in after the first few bites of food but he came when we were more than halfway through our meal. It wasn't that big of a deal but it would've been nice to get a second glass of wine to go with the rest of my dinner. I wouldn't mind coming back if someone invited me to dinner but it wouldn't be my suggestion. I hear this place gets busy on the weekends or holidays, I'd come if we already had a reservation but I wouldn't wait in line for it.

I came here for a work dinner and this place was very nice. It was easily accessible with a parking lot right behind. The waiter was very accommodating and attentive. We came on a weekday and it was also not too crowded. We ordered lots of different appetizers like brussel sprouts, pork belly, ceviche platter, and empanada. I liked the brussel sprouts best. I ordered for my main entree the winter squash ravioli. I really liked it and it was flavorful.

Quality/Quantity - My buddy has been wanting me to try this place since forever... So here we are. And we made it for happy hour, so lucky. But ended up ordering from the main menu. We got the following. I was going to order the Saffron Seafood Pasta, until my buddy said I should get the ribeye eye. I said ok... 35 Day Dry 16 oz Ribeye $68 - It was good, but not $68 good. But I am glad it came with a generous side. I chose the mushrooms. The steak was of good size. Cooked well, medium rare. Enjoyed both sauces, but the chimichurri sauce was the better of the two. The other sauce was Casa Del Toro Steak sauce. Paella Del Toro $38 - Good, but it was only one portion. I felt they could have been more generous with the seafood. And interesting "deconstructed" paella?!?! So no socarrat?!? Isn't it just seafood with a side of rice? LOL. My buddy finished it all. Atmosphere - Cool space, but still similar to ALL the previous unsuccessful businesses that I frequented here. But because you are a successful business person/entrepreneur, I know you will do well. Open 6 days a week, closed Mondays. Plenty of shared mall parking in the rear. Service - Good. Weird, but good. Not sure if we got here during shift change, but we had 3 different people helping us with minimum communication. So I had to repeat myself a few times. Lastly, there was a mistake on the bill?!?! And the last waiter blamed it on the second waitress... But he corrected it. These types of mistakes are happening more and more frequently with my travels, a shame... It makes me NOW check all my receipts before paying. Price - $150 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats to Alejandro Gamarra and his team's success with this restaurant and all his other 8+ businesses since 1993. After dinner we went to Buffalo Bills for a last beer (and garlic fries) which is another Alejandro Gamarra business now.

I calmly approached the owner and said I wasn't trying to cause drama and simply wanted to express how hurt and unheard I felt. His response was, "I don't want drama," before walking away from me while I was crying and trying to explain myself. That moment honestly broke my heart even more. I completely understand businesses have rules, closing times, and boundaries. But when someone is grieving the loss of a person who helped create such a loving environment there, compassion and kindness matter deeply. Drew always made people feel like they could take up space and be themselves. I just wish my first experience returning after his passing had reflected even a fraction of the warmth and humanity he gave to others.

She was extremely nice and accommodating, even outside of the bakery's business hours since we were super late. We taste tested and loved ALL the flavors, but ended up with matcha, ube, and vanilla. During the day of the wedding, Natalie and her team promptly delivered this beautiful 3 tiered custom themed cake. It was completely hassle free (I don't even know when she dropped it off on the hectic day), and exactly how we imagined it to be. Additionally all the guests loved the design and especially the flavor, so we were definitely feeling a little proud for choosing for this place. Thank you Natalie for this amazing cake!!

Hands down they have the best drinks, cookies, macarons, cakes, and now salt bread! I always come to get treats for my kid's teachers (for their birthdays, teacher appreciation week, just because, etc.). I've brought friends visiting the Bay Area to this bakery, which they have loved. Always Yours also has fun cup sleeve events, macaron classes and afternoon tea from time to time. We love supporting small businesses and this one is definitely worth supporting! P.S. with all these drink places popping up in the area...we still think the drinks at Always Yours not only taste better, but also are of higher quality.
