Baja fish bowl

This place is just down the street from my office. It's in an industrial area so it might get overlooked. It's one of my go to spot for lunch as it is just down the street from my office. The guys here are supper friendly and the service is always great. I order online and my food is ready when I get here. The dining area is huge and outdoor seating is also available. I've ordered the avocado toast, veggie sandwich, salmon burger w/ fries and falafel wrap in the past. But today I ordered the baja fish bowl. It's tasty and always consistent. It's got Spanish rice, citrus slaw, corn & black bean salsa and pico de gallo. The cod is perfectly fried w/ a spicy aioli sauce. So good. They offer a variety of dishes on their menu. I have never gotten a bad meal. Stop by if you're in the area, you will not be disappointed.

New to working in this industrial area, been having a tough time finding a close lunch spot until today. Saw this place driving to work and decided to try, well worth it! Got a breakfast burrito and iced coffee for less than $20 which is nice. Burrito was flavorful and good sized. Coffee was good! Can't wait to explore the menu more soon. Would recommend.

This place was a nice surprise in the midst of an industrial business park. We needed to pack some sandwiches for a hike across the bay and chose Bay City Bistro because it's proximity to 92. We were sad to hear we were their first customers in two days. That being said they built my veggie sandwich to perfection. The carrots and cucumbers were nice and crunchy and there was a generous amount of avocado. It held together quite well for the few hours it sat in our backpack. We will be back next time we're in the area!

VEGAN REVIEW: Obscure exterior, clean and contemporary interior. From the outside the small cafe looks like another white-walled business - sort of camouflaged among the similar-looking buildings. The inside is very clean and organized. The interior reminds me of a hotel cafe. There are fountain drinks, bottled juices and waters, packaged chips, cookies, and candy that can be purchased separately from the meal. Empty at 11AM on a Tuesday, but started filling up around the lunch hour: ~12pm. I had the falafel salad which was marked "vegan". It is the only vegan item on the menu. There are also 2 or 3 vegetarian menu items. I actually really liked the falafel salad - it came with sliced cherry tomatoes, pepperoncinis, and 3 small falafels sliced into fourths on a bed of romaine. It also came with a tahini dressing. The falafels had a really yummy flavor; they were slightly dry but fine with the tahini. Tomatoes were fresh but sparse as were the pepperoncinis. Overall, a good and satisfying meal for vegans. Creamy tahini was really good. Wish it didn't come so sparse.

Yes that is the amount of Salmon that is on the Salmon Cobb!!

Has COVID caused a Salmon shortage? Can we add a disclaimer to the description on the menu that the salmon on the Cobb is the size of 2 croutons? And the cucumbers were s

This was probably one of the best BLTA croissant sandwiches I've ever had. The croissant was buttery and flakey. The bacon was crispy but not greasy. The lettuce and tomato was fresh and they put the right amounts of mayo. They could have put more avocado but whatever. It was 6 plus tax plus tip. Great lunch! Also my lunch date liked his Cesar salad wrap with added bacon! We love bacon

I love all places that have a theme that sets them apart from other establishments. Especially ones that have names for their menu items that are jovial. There's ample seating and the place is fun inside, with comic books on the walls, toys displayed and bright colors everywhere it really gives a burst of dopamine when you come in. We were greeted initially by the gentleman at the counter. He was super friendly and asked if we had any questions. Idk bout yall but when we go somewhere and the person refers to you as "boss" you can kinda feel the vibe that you're gonna get good service. And it was exactly spot on. The dude helped us with questions we had and after ordering let us know he'd bring our food to us. We waited a couple mins and our food came out! Initially my first thought was "damn, they're not stingy with their portions here!" We opted for the Goku fries and a regular Deadpool sandwich. It being our first time we wanted to try different flavors. BRUH, that food smacked SO HARD! We slammed everything and kept saying, wow this is good. The ingredients were fresh, the green sauce (whatever it is) was delicious on our sandwich! We will for sure be back & tell all of our friends about this place!

We tried the Ed Edd and Eddy and the Mr. Burns. Both were really good on Dutch crunch. We also customized our sandwiches by adding pickles, banana peppers and onions. I believe the sandwich comes with the standard lettuce and tomato. Easy place to grab a solid sandwich in my opinion. Can't go wrong with any of them. We'll be back to try their fries and other sandwiches.

Stopped here real fast to grab lunch while at work and was not disappointed. Fresh bread. Fresh veggies. Right amount of cheese. Generous meat. Neatly packaged. Great staff. All things that make for a great deli! So many times we see things on yelp or online and take that chance to try them and end up disappointed- but this was NOT the case! If you're here on yelp and are scrolling by to see if this is your next lunch spot, take this as your sign that it absolutely is. This is my new favorite spot in SL!

We walked in at about 4:10 on a Monday afternoon. There were several people scattered around the…read moredining room. Some were chatting, others were apparently waiting for their orders. We noticed two self-service ordering kiosks to the right but decided to check out the menu board and salad case first. When we were done, the cashier asked if she could take our order. That's always my preference over poking buttons on a impersonal screen. We placed our order, paid, and stood aside to wait. My name was called when our order was ready. It was bagged and ready to go. We thanked the cashier and went home. Normally, I'm not a sandwich guy. Today, after working outside in the sun, I was hungry and had a craving for something filling and cold. Macaroni Salad was on my mind. I looked that up on Yelp and Bara's was reasonably close. I also saw a Shrimp Salad that looked pretty good online. When we arrived home, I proceeded to take pictures of our meal. Sigh. Instead of Macaroni Salad, we got Potato Salad. Not quite the same. A quick peek at my receipt and I saw that the wrong key must have been pressed. I should have checked my receipt after I paid. The cashier should have repeated the order before sending it. The Potato Salad didn't satisfy my craving for Macaroni Salad, but I wasn't about to drive back to exchange it. The flavor was unique though, in that it had a cheesy flavor. The Shrimp Salad was not good. Flavor wise, it was okay with a little bit of heat. But texture wise, it was a mess. If Shrimp was supposed to be cooked for two minutes and then dropped into an ice bath, these had been cooked for four minutes and not iced. They were cooked to death. I got a Bay Area Special with Swiss. It was okay. A ton of meat, not so much on the veg. I would prefer more balance. But overall, it was pretty good. She got The Gobbler. She also felt that the meat overwhelmed the veg. Additionally, the cranberry sauce was overwhelmed by the cream cheese. We came, we saw, we ate. It'll be a long while before I go after another sandwich.

But don't think there are multiple locations...yet. Upon receiving my sandwiches, it was wrapped in a paper with their company logo, and from a quick glance it is super similar to the Jersey Mikes logo in terms of color, so it has a real familiar vibe. No hate just an observation. This used to be another restaurant (maybe even several) on the edge of an industrial zone/business park, but also not too far from several shopping strips. There's spacious seating inside, but in the later afternoon when I went, nobody was eating in. But quite a few take-out and third party pick-ups. I even saw a poster showcasing their catering aspect for common work lunches on the company dime. Good for them. Niles Canyon ($14.50/4*) I opted to up this to their combo meal which includes a bag of chips and a soda for another $5. So this was easily a $20 lunch meal without tipping yet. Pricey yes, but not because they are pricier than most, but that is just the going rate for eating a meal outside these days. $15 - $20 per person are common and anything under $15 is now considered cheap eats and getting harder to run into. This sandwich had slightly warmed up deli turkey that when stacked with the swiss cheese slices, kinda softened the cheese. It wasn't ooey gooey but the cheese wasn't firm and cold either. There was another layer of prosciutto as well which wasn't too noticeable but did add another dimension. I chose to go with the full produce choice, as I love the freshness of veggies to go with meat sandwiches. There was also a layer of fresh avo slices which lent a creamy richness to the bites. I tried one of their sliced breads to go for this sandwich, as I tried a sourdough roll for another sandwich that I got to-go for my work lunch the next day. That way I got to sample their bread offerings. Their sliced marbled rye bread is thick sliced, very soft and moist with a good bread chew. They use a good bread supplier for sure. On top of mayo and mustard which is common, they also put their Bomb Sauce which seems like a garlic-y spread of sorts. I can definitely smell it, but the taste isn't overly strong. I'd say super similar to Mr Pickles. Prosciutto Sandwich ($13/4*) This was an all-cold traditional sandwich. I took a couple of bites there to see how it was fresh from the counter, and I ate the rest the next day at work. I gotta say I liked it better the next day as all the flavors melded more together. Even tho the veggies get a bit mushier, I've always liked a well dressed salad sensation in sandwiches, kinda like a Muffeletta sandwich where it is refrigerated overnight, meant to be eaten the next day. Their prosciutto isn't the old school imported version, or at least I've never had one quite like it. I'm assuming a domestic version, even seemed more like cappicola to me as I sensed a tinge of fennel up in there. So pretty satisfied with my first visit. I'll definitely get sandwiches here again for work or day trip lunches. Pretty much on the same level as Togo's or Mr. Pickles, but just more local. With sandwich names as The Quarry Lakes, The Decoto and The Dumbarton, just pulls on my local lovin' heartstrings. Props.
