    Carne Asada Tacos

Best tacos in Northern California and best chicken wings in California. Servers are always beyond kind and attentive. They have a fantastic happy hour menu with legitimately good deals. And their taco Tuesday doesn't require a minimum purchase amount! I bring everyone to this restaurant.

Wow we love a restaurant that gives complimentary chips and salsa!!! The chips and salsa tasted soooo fresh. Food came out quick and it was hot. The birria queso was yummy. Only note is that it wasn't as crispy and the consome was a little bland. Overall, I would come back!

Great food! Very delicious and nice friendly staff. Definitely need to comeback and try their menudo.

I hadn't been to this restaurant in a long while but had driven by and seen the signs that it was under new management. I hadn't realized it was an ownership change until we walked in for dinner tonight. It was kind of empty for a Friday night. We were told to sit wherever we wanted. It took a few minutes but eventually we were greeted with menus, chips, salsa and a miniature bowl of refried beans. They took our drink orders as well. By the time she came back around we were ready to order. I was hoping to find a good salad. I'm glad I went with the tostada Especial. It was very filling. The chimichanga was full of meat and filling. Of course the crispy tortilla helped with that. Tacos were also very good. We were pleased with everything. The best part was the price. All the food we ordered was surprisingly lower than we expected. It was well Worth it! The presentation of the food is much nicer than before. Staff and our server Andrea was very helpful and nice.

I had Birria De Res. They were really good. Lots of meat. And good sauce. They brought chips with beans and salsa to my table right away. And they have cold beer with good music. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We ordered the carne asada famoso burrito, the enchiladas rojos, and menudo. The burrito was pretty good and the menudo was fantastic. They also gave us complimentary chips and salsa, the salsa you can grab yourself at the salsa bar.

Our entire order was the worst Mexican food we have ever eaten. Burrito and enchiladas were so gross. Hugely disappointing.

Do you have buffets on weekends (how much)? If so, please update your business information - it will help us/you?

I know they have a breakfast buffet on the weekends, and a Taco Tuesday special but not sure if there is a buffet on the weekends?

I noticed they have burgers on the menu now. How are they compared to other places that make them?

My grandson is 18 years old, and he absolutely loves them. The patty is good size, flavorful and has all the fixings to go on it, the fries are the best, they taste like old fashioned real fries, not frozen and they give a generous portion.

We each got the salmon bagel, tea, and a latte, then found a table on their cozy and beautiful back patio. The drinks came out in beautifully painted drink ware. This place was such a nice spot to catch up and chit chat over good food. The servers were super friendly and helpful, and we never once felt rushed to leave or vacate our table. The noise level was just right, too. You would think being on A St would mean we'd hear cars the entire time and would have to talk over other tables, but everyone was respectful of each other and my friend and I could hear one another speaking just fine. Parking is limited; there were maybe 4-5 spots on the side of Sandra's Barberia, but you can park on the street and walk over.

O cambiaron ? Es un servicio muy diferente . I got to go to this cafe in Hayward recently with family and thought it was very cute. The food was very good and I felt satisfied. I was sad to see that the service has changed so much since my last visit. A worker commented negatively on my sisters tattoos, another opened a bag of tea with her teeth, and one waitress made me get the plate out of her hands/seemed inexperienced with serving food. I wonder if there is new management or new owners? It's a very different service from last time.

Integrated into downtown Hayward just a block from the theater and other eateries and drink spots, Khao Hom has made a strong impression in the local community drawing a good following for weekend brunch as well as weekday lunch. With street parking right in front as well as sharing free public parking in the lot behind the restaurant, once you've slogged through traffic to get to this area, you'll be able to easily park and venture in for your food experience. As you enter, you'll likely need to wait for one of their staff members to seat you in one of their two dining spaces. The rooms are well lit and enhance the ambiance of your meal (and photos) with natural lighting. When seated, you'll get their food and drinks menu in addition to finding their dessert menu at the table. As standard, each table gets a carafe of water for you to serve yourselves. Their menu is quite extensive in representing popular Thai flavors with a bit of flare. You'll find curries, soups, noodles and chef specialties in their own sections of the menu. They also have some alcohol infused drinks for those looking for a full brunch experience. As a novice to some Thai dishes, I did have to ask the staff to explain a bit about certain dishes, but there were a few that caught my eye and never let go. Thai tea - flavorful and bold; rich but not too sweet Matcha latte - rich matcha flavor and creamy; best sipped and can be packed in a to-go cup if you don't finish Tom yum crab omelet - beautifully crafted omurice-esque dish where you'll find white rice encased in an egg omelet topped with succulent pieces of crab meat and smothered in tom yum soup. This dish is not only a pleasure to look at but the taste and textures in each bite will have you salivating for more until the dish completely disappears. This unique take is a must get for first timers! Roti gai tod - crispy fried yet succulent chicken served with a small serving of creamy yellow curry, white rice, and a roti alongside their delicious chili sauce. Fantastic balance of textures and flavors will have your tongue dancing from the spices. Tom kha soup - a bowl of comfort with a whole lot of shredded chicken, red onions, and mushrooms with a few big quarters of fresh tomatoes. It's not as creamy as I would like but the flavor is there with its abundance in lemongrass. The portion is large as one order can easily split into two bowls. Fried ice cream - a meal topper and sweet indulgence for those looking to try something new and rarely found elsewhere. This giant meteorite of a breaded and fried ball of vanilla ice cream is topped with chocolate fudge, powdered sugar, a generous helping of whipped cream and plenty of fruit (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, grapes, and cantaloupe). Definitely shareable and a surprising star of their dessert menu - they could definitely do more to advertise this! The staff were super friendly and quick to take dirty dishes out of the way. They kept the place clean, served the food promptly and treated all of their customers with respect and smiles. Top notch crew from the front of the house to the back. Furthermore, should you need the restrooms, they do have two gender neutral rooms that were decently maintained. Overall, Khao Hom is not your everyday Thai restaurant nor is it your run of the mill brunch spot - this is a unique experience with food created out of passion to merge these together. The result is an aesthetically pleasing yet hunger extinguishing meal that will have you discovering new flavors and craving for more. With its proximity to the city center, it's a great a spot to plan out a lunch or brunch before a nice stroll around or a movie. Thai food has never looked and tasted so good!

It was really flavorful and it all came together really well for us. I think we were a bit underwhelmed with the omelette. Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! Especially if you bring cash for a 10% discount off a dozen :)
