If you want amazing hibachi grilled flavors... head to what I call The Block on Paseo Grande and Hesperian in San Lorenzo. An entire block on weekends and some week nights. Such a humble family, all smiles and amazing authentic tasting eats! The hustle and bustle of The Block makes for a fun night! Someone else Claimed our order so while we waited for them to remake ours, we had a Michẽ from another truck, and sweet mini donuts from a stand around the corner. Look at my other reviews for how that worked out!! Thank you for taking care of us so well when someone else took our order!

Last week, they sold out by noon, so this week, I made sure that I got there early. There were plenty of options at around 10:30 a.m. The team is so nice and friendly. Their system is highly efficient, and there are just the right amount of cooks in the kitchen. The cashier was so sweet. He remembered my family from last week even though I came without them this week. Support this business, and they will not disappoint. They have crispy pork, tofu, and chicken banh mi. They also sell Vietnamese coffee, which I will have to try next time. The large banh mi is $15, and a small is $10. Come support this business so they blow up, and I can get a good sandwich any day of the week at a brick and mortar location

The food was incredibly fresh, and the bun was just perfect--crispy on the outside and soft inside, just like the ones in Little Saigon in San Jose. I'm so excited to have something like this nearby! The business is family-run, and you can really feel the warmth and care they put into their food and service. The coffee is out of this world--so delicious and definitely a must-try! The pickles in the banh mi were flavorful and balanced everything perfectly. Service was friendly, quick, and welcoming. I can't wait to come back next week and wish them all the success they deserve! There are picnic tables for folks to enjoy their banh mi nearby to enjoy farmers market vibe.

They cook these over charcoal and the chicken is spatchcocked. (split in half) I was expecting for them to pull chicken off the grill but instead, they pulled them from a cooler. Evidently they cook them up and chop up into the strangest sized pieces and throw in coolers. I had no idea what we were eating. The half rack of ribs was all the gristel and cartilage cut off the ends. I received no bones and very little meat connected to the cartilage. So now they don't have anything to feed their dogs.

The music was bumping, people were lined up and genuinely excited to order, and the whole setup felt lively in the best possible way. You could tell right away this was a place people really love. This spot came highly recommended to me by friends, and now I fully understand why. Before heading out, I called ahead to ask whether they could accommodate my girlfriend's seafood allergy, and Kemi, the owner, picked up and immediately made us feel taken care of. When we got there, Victor, the onsite chef, and the rest of the staff were so friendly, thoughtful, and careful about everything. That kind of hospitality means a lot, and they handled it with so much kindness and ease. And the food? Ridiculous. In the best way. I had the egusi, plantains, and fufu, and I finished it in what had to be about seven minutes flat. Honestly, I'm still shocked there weren't bite marks on the container. That food was so good it nearly had me questioning my table manners. Every bite was comforting, rich, and deeply satisfying. What I loved most was that Jollof Kitchen felt like more than just a food stop. It felt like one of those places that reminds you how powerful food can be -- how it brings people together, lifts the energy of a whole block, and turns a night out into something memorable. I'll absolutely be back every chance I get. Safe to say this first time trying Nigerian food, this is now my favorite Nigerian food spot by far. Amazing food, amazing people, amazing energy. So grateful for the care they showed us and very, very excited to come back hungry.
