Order time 6:55 pm March 1st 2025, after finding a spot to sit, and waiting for what felt like an eternity we got our food at 7:58 pm over an hour waiting, no communication, no apologies for the wait no nothing. The actual food was delicious but customer service was non existent, the lady preparing hotdogs was clearly upset to the point where you could hear her complaining about the patrons waiting for their meals. Parking was difficult due to the slow turnover for the evening, but also the parking area is extremely small. Overall my experience was rather unfortunate for this visit, waiting a hour for a meal anywhere without communication is absolutely unacceptable.

It may not be an ideal location, but the food is amazing! From the delectable smokey flavor of wood grilled beef, to the perfect salsa bar, if you're a fan of Sonoran style tacos this is the spot for you! We sat down next to a couple that came out from Brentwood, so you know it's good!

Im not happy w this. Literally no toppings just meat and cheese.

Had a nice lunch date with the wife-- showed up right at 1pm and ordered a couple carne asada tacos a piece, made sure to top them with the pineapple salsa. There is definitely a general kick to the tacos, but those picked onions are on another level and NOT recommended if you're not into spicy food (you need to love spicy food). My wife put them on her taco and was eating-- although the food was good, her mouth was on fire. I had them on my plate but didn't put them on my taco. Tried one of them at the end and started coughing. Definitely will be coming back to have a quesadilla but will leave the onions alone... not for the weak!

Saturday at 520pm. Waited 1 hr to order and almost another 1 hr for food

Very long wait -- Drove by this establishment a week ago and saw that there was a huge line. Drove by it today (still a long line) and decided to wait and see whats good. Waited in line at 5:24pm and ordered at 6:39pm then waited for my food until 740pm. Whole process took 2 hrs. Food -- ordered the special burrito w/ carne asada and 2 carne asada taco and 2 al pastor tacos. Make sure you check your order after you pick up they ended up just giving 4 carne asada. They also didn't include any toppings on the taco so you would have to put it on yourself at the salsa bar. The burrito was very heavy and dense and the bacon was crispy. The burrito is not like a traditional burrito, this one did not have rice and they load it with ALOT of melted cheese ( which is a plus). The meat was good, you can taste the bbq char which i loved. The salsa at the salsa bar all made fresh. Overall -- I wouldn't wait 2 hrs but if you drive by and see a short line, I would recommend giving it a try. Just make sure you double check your order and load up at the salsa bar. They also prefer cash but you can ask to pay with mobile pay.

Tacos Mamá Cuca is in their new location on the Oakland/Emeryville border. They continue to serve up unique Sonoran delicacies, but I cannot deviate from the delectable taco yaqui. Their salsa bar is second to none, and the service is always super friendly. If you plan to eat on location, be prepared to dine on small plastic stools. It's worth it though!

Tacos Mama Cuca sells traditional eats from Sonora, Mexico. they make their flour tortillas in small batches. their carna asada is grilled over mesquite coal. they are @Korner Kitchen (1014 Fruitvale.) on the weekends. the posted address is wrong. offerings: burrito especial, chorreda, taco yaqui, lorenzas, carmelos, tacos asada. eats: burrito especial (15) -large amount of grilled carna asada mixed with a smoked green pepper, melted cheese, avocado slice, chorizo flavored beans. wrapped with bacon strips on the outside. all grilled on a flat grill till crisp. -lots of garnishes available: grtilled onions, avocado salsa, salsa roja, lime squeeze, smoky salsa from a large molcajete. -size of burrito is bigger than average. the grilled bacon added another layer to the flavors embedded within burrito. salsa on the side added another dimension. almost couldn't finish. -my tummy really enjoyed the burrito. my tastebuds didn't taste much. it didn't register much of the flavors. not surprisingly, i tested positive for covid 2 days later. (loss of taste is one of the symptoms). teke outs: -outside seating was available. there was a pop up faire of sorts @Korner Kitchen. -parking lot nearby as well as street parking. -Tacos Mama Cuca is on Chron's list of recommended tacquerias.

The food here is amazing! We went around 3:45 pm today so there was no line and super speedy service. We had friendly employees take our order and friendly regular customers chat with us about what is in the SERIOUS spread at the salsa bar! My husband was in love with the Taco Yaqui, which is their most popular dish, and I had the carne asada tacos, which were so flavorful. Everything came out piping hot and fresh - we loved it! Can't wait to go back!

I'd like to start off by saying that I have been a loyal customer for a while now traveling up to an hour to go eat from them. I've been going to then since before they were in Hayward. I had never had a bad experience but what happened this past weekend was just unacceptable! I ordered a marinated pork taco and immediately knew the pork had gone bad by the taste and smell. As soon as I bit into it I spit it out into the plate. My husband then took the plate back with the FULL taco with my bite also on the plate to let them know about the meet and the unprofessional and rude response he received was unbelievable. The lady came out and said that choosing that meat was optional and that no refunds or exchanges would be made. He tried to explain the meat was bad and she kept making the same remark of it being our choice to choose marinated pork! WE DIDNT KNOW WE WERE CHOOSING ROTTEN PORK!!! I will proceed to contact the health department because their lack of accountability will be making people sick. No acknowledgment or apologies were made. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!! You can see in my photo that none of the taco was eaten, so I can't understand why they wouldn't believe us.

Food: Al Pastor Taco - good, generous amount of meat, topped with diced onions, cilantro, and salsa verde, the al Pastor had good flavor, wish there was a bit more char and pineapple but pretty tasty, corn tortilla was excellent, soft and pliable with nice toasted corn flavor Carne asada - very good, perfectly cooked steak that was tender with a char from the grill, also topped with onions, cilantro and salsa verde, same great corn tortilla, favorite of the proteins that we tried Suadero - okay, brisket was a bit dry and had the shredded texture reminding me more of carnitas, same toppings as the other taco, generous portion of meat, this one benefited from an extra squeeze of lime juice and some salsa roja from the salsa bar Service was solid, order at the truck window grab a number and wait for your corder to be called. Wait for our food was about 10-15 minute. They do have a topping and salsa bar with two types of salsa, limes, radishes and cucumber. Overall really enjoyed Tacos Gonzales, more of a 4.5 star overall, food was flavorful and freshly prepared. The carne asada was some of the best I've ever had in the bay area.

We were brought fresh tortilla chips to start, which were great, along with a Lazy Susan-style setup of salsas and toppings. Unfortunately, this was a bit of a miss for me--there were raw onions, raw jalapeños, a green salsa, and more of a plain red hot sauce rather than a true salsa. I would have preferred something more traditional like a good pico de gallo or a more balanced house salsa. Ordered a bottle of Dos Equis, which at $7 felt a bit steep. Most entrées were priced between $17-$25, which is pretty standard. I had the carnitas and they were excellent--really flavorful and well-prepared. I also tried a bite of the chile relleno, which was solid as well. Overall, the food was good and the service was strong. That said, it's a bit out of the way for me, and while I enjoyed it, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back.
