Been a long time since I have been in, years! Soon as I walked inI noticed it still was the same like I remembered and I liked that. Was not too crowded, very calm a relaxed vibe. We started with the oven roasted artichoke and crab dip. Comes with thin slices of toasted bread. I took one bite and closed my eyes... off to flavor paradise. So so so good! My wife had the shrimp and crab fettuccine. She is VERY picky about her pasta but the sound she made after her first bite "mmm mmm hmmm" I knew there was not going to be any for me to pick at later. She loved it. The fisherman platter is what I ordered. Everything on this plate, the fish, the shrimp, the scallops all done to perfection! Maybe.. the best scallops I have ever had! No... for real! We visited Horatio's because we had a gift certificate. Our server and hostess were both really nice. But, unfortunately, the food was pretty disappointing. We probably won't be going back. We ordered a Maple Pear and Blue Cheese salad and a Grilled Chicken Club sandwich. The salad was ok, but had some wilted lettuce. For $12.75 it was not a very good value. The grilled chicken sandwich was flavorful, but they split the chicken breast very thin to reduce costs. The result was that it was quite dry. Not a good value for $16.50. Our meal included a crispy garlic bread, which was similar to a Vietnamese baguette with garlic butter. It was good. There are so many other good restaurants in the area. Don't let the 3.5 star average rating fool you. This place is pretty good. The buttered bread starter was yummy. The salads were super unique and really tasty. I had the pork chop entree and it was delicious. Our server Kayla was fantastic. To be fair, the visit did have a couple flaws. My wife's steak was overcooked and the soda came in super small glasses which resulted in lots of refills. Such a lovely and spacious nautical-inspired restaurant overlooking the waters by Marina Park in San Leandro. Came on a Saturday with a noon reservation, and there were lots of parking. Once entering the restaurant, I really enjoyed the ambiance and feeling like I was in a beautiful old-school ship with tall windows letting in a lot of natural light. We got grilled salmon, fish and chips, and key lime pie for dessert. Service was warm and attentive, they were really wonderful. This is a great spot with an upscale feel in San Leandro, perfect for dates and nice outings. read more

First time visiting Horatio's and it was nice to try. We believe our server may have been a little new because we made some alterations to some of our orders that did not come through, but she was very pleasant and was trying her best, which we appreciated! The food came out nice and hot, which is always appreciated, and overall we enjoyed our meals. Would recommend the oven roasted artichoke and crab dip to start. My friend said the cajun chicken fettuccine was on the spicier side, so just be aware if you don't like to eat very spicy foods. Both my companions ordered the clam chowder and agreed it was well worth it! We had lunch on a lovely day too, so we could enjoy the views of the marina. We found this place online and liked the idea of the ambiance setting as it's on the water. BIG MISTAKE. Mediocre food, mediocre Service, and DECEIVING!! Drinks from the bar took quite awhile, although it was legitimately busy on a Sunday afternoon with a lot of church folk. (Got a modelo at one point and it was poured in like a hurricane glass, not a real pint glass which just irked me.) We started with the trio appetizer which was honestly good! The crab and shrimp artichoke dip was a bit on the oily side, but good tasting all the same. The problem were the entrees. The food took long as well. The waiters at one pint came to us and said "I saw your food in the window but we've got runners today so they should bring it out shortly." Basically saying that she was going to leave that for them entirely instead of her just bringing our meals out herself. That really confused us as to why one around even admit that, and we still just hope we interpreted wrong. My brother in law got the burger and asked for medium, it was way overcooked so much to the point where he asked for them to make a new one. I get it this happens from time to time. They also put my Cajun seasoned fries on his plate when I was supposed to get them; instead of just making some new fries they brought me out a whole new French dip which was nice. The French dip was ok, a little too heavy on the horse radish for me. My brother in law told me his burger was average at best. Here's where it went south for us. My sister ordered the shrimp scampi, expecting a shrimp scampi. Instead she got some shrimp with mashed potatoes. We inquired with our waitress immediately who told us, "oh no that's definetly a shrimp scampi." We immediately asked again and she poti de out the menu description where it did indeed list it as pretty much shrimp and masked potatoes. Accepting the fact that we didn't read the menu description, we also told her we never really thought that a shrimp scampi would require a look in on the description. We then told her nicely and politely, that's just not a shrimp scampi. She then chose to gaslight us, saying that the way we know shrimp scampi's are "from back in the old days" whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. After that she continued to insist and gaslight us further. Us being Sure of ourselves we looked up shrimp scampi's on our phones and didn't see anything that fit the image of what my sister had in front of her. We got annoyed at that point, lost our appetite with the mediocre food and the deceiving menu and asked to close our tab and take the food home. Someone should have a serious talk with the chef and explain to him/her what shrimp scampi is. And from now on if you insist on still naming it a shrimp scampi while still serving an entirely different dish, at least communicate with guests on what they will actually be receiving. My brother in law asked for an Irish coffee and instead got a watered down coffee with some Jameson in it. We came here for dinner on a weeknight and were seated promptly. They have tables overlooking the Bay which make for a great view of the sunset and the water. They also have some kind of an outdoor patio seating. Parking is plentiful and the restaurant has a nautical themed decor. Our server, Jessica, was great! She walked us through the menu, informed us of the popular dishes and checked on us often. We got some drinks which were well made. We started off with the crab and artichoke dip - a tasty dip with some crispy baguette. They also bring you their house garlic bread which is delicious! We got the Admiral's feast - a three course menu where you can choose a soup/ salad, main and dessert. The clam chowder was good and the Caesar salad was standard. Next, the sirloin was perfectly cooked as requested. This was served with some asparagus (which sadly lacked seasoning) and mashed potatoes. The salmon was also cooked to the desired done ness (medium rare) and served with fingerling potatoes and fresh vegetables. Dessert was creme brulee the only option in the set menu which was standard. Portions are decent sized and I needed to take some of my food back home! Haven't been to Horatio's since I was a teen. It's sits off in the marina by El Torito's and Marina Inn. Nice size parking lot but not very well lit. The restaurant itself is a little on the darker side but the aesthetic gives port or ship vibes. The service was a bit slow. It took an hour to receive the incorrect order, while noticing that larger tables sat after us already had their food. We received the taster platter but the bread was burnt. 4/10 I had the grilled shrimp scampi with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Good flavor but wasn't hot. Nice size shrimp. The potatoes had seized and the asparagus- thin and overcooked!! 6/10 Lobster bisque was flavorful but came late. 8/10 The crab and shrimp pasta was well seasoned and a nice portion. This spot is quite close to Oakland Airport, making it a convenient stop on our way home. We've visited here four times, but my husband has said it will be our last. I genuinely love the cozy feeling of sitting in a boat's hull and enjoying the beautiful view. Our waitress, Angelina, was incredibly sweet, though she seemed overwhelmed with too many tables, and we saw the bartender step in to help. Our son's Fisherman's Platter came out first, and he finished it before our Lobster Bisque and Salad arrived. Everything was good, but the timing was off--we prefer to dine together. I had the Duckhorn Cabernet, which was $17 a glass; I didn't take a photo, but I felt the pour was fairly short. My husband enjoyed his Expresso Martini, which he said was delicious. Horatio's is a very nice spot at the San Leandro Marina, that we've had the pleasure of visiting a couple of times now. The location couldn't be better. Overlooking the water, this is a great place to have a romantic dinner or drinks while watching the sunset. The interior is very nice, with a nautical motif. The restaurant is very spacious, a good choice if you're hosting a party with a large group. Horatio's is affiliated with Skates on the Bay and Kinkaids, of the Landry's Restaurant Group, which I picked up on right away, since they have a similar menu and motif. Skates fell out of favor with us after a really bad service experience there years ago, but we won't hold that against Horatio's. So far we've only been in for drinks and appetizers, but I'm looking forward to having a full dinner here soon. Appetizer-wise, their crab and artichoke dip is a must. They also start you off with warm garlic bread, which is yum. They have a very nice menu of creative craft cocktails. Reminds me of a really swanky cocktail lounge called Petrus we went to when we were in Serbia a few years ago. Service is excellent. Staff is welcoming, attentive, and professional. Cool spot I found off of Yelp for a last minute lunch. Food was good, and so was service as staff was kind.

This is one of the prettiest restaurants I have been to. The view as the sun was setting was out of this world. All of the food we tried was quality including the sampler, Cesar salad, and the fettuccine. The only downside at the time was the waiting. It took our food about an hour to come out with little to no check ins and we got so hungry. Luckily the complimentary bread was able to keep us occupied for a bit but other than that it's worth a visit! read more

What a great find by the marina! This seafood spot totally nails the coastal vibe -- the interior feels like you're dining inside a ship, with tons of nautical décor that makes the whole experience feel fun and immersive. My daughter chose this restaurant for her birthday dinner. I asked for a table near the window when I booked the reservation, and we were seated near the window. It was a nice view at sunset.The wait staff were very friendly. They did forget some things. For example, the waiter forgot to put in an order the entree for one member of our party. We have been here no a few times and I have to say it is on the list. It's closer by but out of town. Need to meander through San Leandro neighborhoods to get there. The drinks, food and service are all great. I guess it's been here for close to forever and not sure how many people know about it unless they live close by. It does seem to have alot of regulars. A great view of an empty marina due to I think a bankruptcy and legal issues but hey, still on the water. The other perk is watching the planes coming in to Oakland, low and slow. We have only sat in the bar area but they have a massive dinnig room also. Overall a very nice place to hang out with a very chill ambiance to escape the daily crap. read more

Made reservation but they were not ready to seat us until 15 minutes after reservation. And we intentionally did early dinner time slot. So my advice is to plan accordingly and just show up early for an earlier reservation time since they may not provide you your table at the appointed reservation time. Food was a mix bag. The slow roasted herb crusted ribeye was delicious - had it cooked medium rare. But the seafood trio was a no go - taste was mediocre. We ordered kids a pasta and a fish and chip. I would say it's kind of a joke - pasta was cooked on the mushy side and too salty, while the fried battered fish seemed like those frozen ones pumped with water (it had that slight spongy and watery texture that my kids didn't eat it after the first bite). Service was poor. Server had to be reminded multiple times just to bring either a coloring sheet for the kids, or for some napkins. The evening that we went seemed to be on the average loud side and since we were seated at the corner upon entry to the lower dining space, it was a constant buzz - one would have thought being in such a spot there would be greater service but nope. This was our first time eating at Horatio's and it didn't disappoint! We have always driven by this place when we go to the marina but never stop in. We went on February 12 for an early Valentines dinner and chose to get their Valentines Special dinner. The special dinner was $130 for two people and included 3 courses. Our waitress Maria was very nice! I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, they played good music choices and very clean. First Course: The warm bread with garlic butter is delicious and is the perfect shareable size. I had the Pointe Reyes Blue Cheese Salad and the toppings and dressing was amazing! My husband got the Romaine Caesar and it was very good also, I am just a blue cheese fan! Second Course: I got the filet and shrimp, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. My steak was cooked perfectly...very juicy and tender on the inside and char on the outside. I loved that it was not over seasoned or salty... it had such a great flavor I didn't need to add anything else to it. The shrimp was seasoned nicely, the mashed potatoes tasted perfect and were very creamy, and the asparagus was very tender. My husband got the prime rib and it was delicious. I really enjoyed the creamy horseradish sauce it came with. Third Course: I got the crème brûlée and was so creamy and just delicious, loved the fruit on top! I stole a bite of my husband's chocolate dessert and it was perfect... very moist and chocolaty! Overall, I highly recommend Horatio's and give the food a 10/10! Have been patronizing Horatio's for decades now and will continue to keep going! It's a hidden gem in the east bay, a seafood / steak spot everyone needs to try. They have a food menu, full bar and epic maritime decor inside. I always would do the ole steak & lobster, also scallops. One of my favorites, for my birthday & other special occasions - is their crème brûlée. Such a damn good dessert. Excellent restaurant, has been around for an eternity & we definitely hope it sticks around. read more

Party of 10 and had one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. We were the first table seated in our server's section, yet she took orders from at least three other tables that were seated after us. Those tables received their drinks and bread while our group sat waiting for over an hour without even having our order taken. When we politely asked about it, the waitress responded with an attitude and told us she was busy with other tables. The service continued to go downhill from there. Drinks arrived very late, and when the food was finally served, no silverware was provided. By the time the silverware arrived, much of the food was already getting cold. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing and not worth the long wait. It felt like our large party was treated as an inconvenience rather than valued customers. Since large parties automatically receive an 18% gratuity, it seemed there was little motivation to provide decent service. Very disappointing. We won't be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to others. read more

Back in the day, this was my favorite 5 star restaurant with the Restaurants Unlimited brand because it was the most convenient. Kincaids in Jack London Square had the best menu. So it saddens me writing this review and I am probably still being generous with its rating. Quality/Quantity - Today we came for Happy Hour and got the following: Complimentary Bread - This is not automatic any more, you have to ask (in this case, ask twice...) Not as good as it was in the past. I remember I was able to eat like two loaves of this bread in the past. Today we each only ate a slice. HH Crab & Artichoke Tots - My daughter really likes this. I gave her my share. I could not taste the crab, but it did have generous slivers of artichokes HH Crispy Calamari - My favorite of the dishes, so good I ordered a second one. The second dish was even more generous in portions. I liked the combination of squid and artichokes. Am I sensing a theme tonight? HH Prime Rib Sliders - Generous meat, thank you. But the quality was just okay and the flavors were just okay. Definitely needed the Au Jus sauce. And to wash it all down: Hen House Stoked IPA. Hen House Incredible Pale Ale. Exotic Mojito - My daughter's choice, made well and strong. Atmosphere - Decent size. Actually the bar and lounge area is huge! The dining area is fairly large also, see pictures. Service - This is where they suffered the most. Our waiter could not handle his 5 tables. Service was amazingly slow. We had to flag him down several times for service. Sales would have been higher if he came more often as we were going to eat dinner here also... I also had to order my second beer early as I did not want to have to wait. He also forgot some of our requests. The silverware was not clean (water spots all over), we cleaned them ourselves as we did NOT want to wait while our food got cold. Lastly he must have either gotten off work or gone on break...? As a new waitress came later and she was just as slow... Even had to wait to pay and leave. Price - $58 + tip. Expensive for what we got. I guess people are paying for the "atmosphere" here which is less important to us locals. Owner Comment - Congrats on Landry's success since 1980. Horatio's has been part of the Landry's Family since September of 2019, who now own 600+ restaurants in 36 states and 15 countries, mostly upscale waterfront restaurants. I remember when Horatio's were more of a local small owner business under the Restaurants Unlimited Umbrella. We used to frequent Skates, Kincaids, and Horatios. Kincaids (now closed) was our favorite of the 3 as they had the best kids' menu. But we used to go to Skates on Thursdays as they had the best Thursday Happy Hour.
