    Renting a filthy truck and I was "charged a cleaning fee" this is a joke

    I have rented the boxy type of trucks from this location before. A few days ago I needed to rent a truck to transport a few pieces of furniture. I was in a hurry when I rented (checked out the vehicle). The first thing I noticed was dry caked mud on the foot step and floor mat but a few mud spots on the driver seat. I thought the last renter must have used this Chevrolet truck through wet mud some where. As I was driving (day) I could see that the rear view window was so filthy. I couldn't see through it and had to use caution while changing lanes. Then to add more grief the warning light came on (oil change due soon). After dropping off the pieces of furniture I turned on the ignition, put my seat belt on and I could not move the handle to (D) Drive. It was stuck! This happened on several occasions and it was frustrating because I had driven several trucks in my lifetime but never had an issue with not being able to move the handle attached to the side of the wheel to (D) drive. I had taken the emergency parking brake off so that was not the issue. I originally intended to rent the truck for one day but life happens and I ended up with 2 days rental. I returned the truck. I checked (rented) the truck at 5:37 pm on the first day and returned the truck before 5:37pm. If their surveillance camera is operating the recording will show that I returned the truck before 5:37 pm. When I received my receipt by email I was shocked to see the charges. The truck advertises $19.99 /day. Now I was thinking the who purpose of "renting a uhaul truck (not the boxy big truck but a "regular truck". Looking back at the amount I was charged i could have rented a "full size/luxury SUV/truck at Walnut Creek Enterprise. I was charged a "cleaning fee" I drove away with a filthy truck both inside and out and was charged for the last renters mess. Yo make matters worse I spoke to a lady over the phone. I didn't get her name, she was polite. I explained all the issues I encountered and all she said was, "I will make note of this" I thought, "make note"? I have had better service with car rental companies including other uhaul stores. I was expecting her to tell me, "I'm sorry about your experience, we will not only note the issues but we will also ADJUST the fees imposed. I was wrongfully charged for 3 days not 2 and a "cleaning fee"? I don't think I will rent a regular truck" from uhaul and stick with the economy boxy uhaul trucks in the future ‍. The lady at Postal Annex told me that she would have the store manager call me back regarding the issues I have. So let's wait and see if they will follow through and correct the issues/bad experience I had during my renal period (2days). A lesson for me is not to be in a rush and avoid issues like this in the future.

Then yesterday I walk in to pay our box and pick up my diabetic supplies only for her to tell me they closed our mailbox and sent ALL our mail back to the center. Mind you - NO notice nothing. I show up and find out we no longer have a mailbox there. I told her I was picking up medical supplies and I need them as a diabetic my life is on the line without them, she was incredibly rude and dismissive in her response. No empathy, no "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused". Just "ok well it's not my problem" basically. Then the owner called my husband and explained that our mail was actually still there and wasnt sent back. So she looked me dead in the eyes as I told her I could die without my supplies and still lied and said it wasn't there and smiled. No empathy, no humanity. She saw a brown girl and that just didn't seem to sit right with her. She almost looked joyous that I could possibly die without my supplies when I told her. The amount of hate and racism in her heart came before her duties as a manger. All because of the color of my skin. There was a white woman in line before me and she was so kind to her I actually thought last time she may have just had a bad day or something but no, she's just another racist woman in Walnut Creek. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! This is beyond racism, it's just plain disgusting and she had absolutely no empathy on a human level for someone who's out of diabetic supplies and her life is on the line. We went in to the store after the owner called us and he gave us our packages and said he'd talk to her and write her up. So if you still send your mail here, be sure not to send ANY sensitive packages because the owner clearly has no intention of taking any real action to prevent her from harming anyone else in his store.

This office is conveniently located to the freeway, Bart and STARBUCKS! 2. Parking - has an abundant amount of parking. Out of all the places I looked at, this is the only one that had parking. 3. The office is very nice and professional in appearance. It has a good size waiting area with enough seating for clients, but isn't overwhelming. 4. The space we rented was large, with everything we needed close by and the most beautiful view of all the different trees that surround the area - it made the place relaxing. 5. The staff are professional, very helpful and welcoming. 6. Many options are available to all businesses when renting a space here. Their answering service was my personal favorite and is something we have chosen to continue with. Thank you IO, we enjoyed our time here! I have gotten to know the great people who work here, especially Nary who always greets me with a smile. In reading some of the prior reviews, something didn't seem right - in my opinion (having been to this business hundreds of times over the past 5 years), the negative reviews are not at all representative of this business or the people who work there. The team at the UPS Store in Alamo is simply outstanding. Nary, Jennifer, Vishwa, and Kianna always go above and beyond to make every visit smooth and pleasant. They handle everything with professionalism and genuine friendliness, whether it's shipping, printing, or problem-solving, or dropping off that Amazon return. It's refreshing to work with a group that takes pride in great service and remembers their customers by name. A huge thanks to this hardworking team for consistently making the experience quick, reliable, and enjoyable!
