I've worked in business management and HR (with a focus on corporate culture, employee relations, staffing, etc.) for over a decade now. Chris at PostalAnnex+ here in the Bayhill Shopping Center, hands down, has the best customer service, patience, earnest desire to help customers, and a great attitude. The store itself runs efficiently and at very reasonable/comparable prices as well, for the experience I would pay 2/3 more, but I'm ecstatic knowing Chris keeps his rates on par and competitive with his counterparts at FedEx and UPS centers (who 9/10 treat customers like infections to cleanse and take so so long to do basic packaging and data entry) If you live in the area, don't go anywhere else. I dropped off a Fedex package on Friday. It's Tuesday and the tracking still show nothing. So Fedex only come here only when they want. Dropped off a UPS package here. The recipient told me that the box arrived empty. My husband has also had issues here. THIEVES! Dropped off a box with valuable shoes that was shipping out via UPS. When the recipient received the box. It was "empty". Went to the store to further investigate. All the front desk worker could say was they didn't have cameras and they were not liable for any loss or damages to packages in their possession due to "it was probably stolen by UPS". Seeing other reviews of cases like this happening at this store is absolutely ridiculous. This store should be investigated and or shut down due to thefts such as this. DO NOT COME HERE. I'm doing business here whenever I can instead of UPS. They don't charge for printing labels, won't charge you to tape your box, and sometimes provide free boxes, along with a smile. This @UPS / Postal Annex "+" should change their name to Postal Annex "-"! Utter disregard for customers and our time. I have a package to drop off so I check www.ups.com to locate an authorized drop off location and this store is listed with a pickup time of 4:30pm, one hour earlier than other pickup locations in the immediate area. I call ahead this morning to confirm and the phone call alone should have been a clear indication to stay away. The phone is answered without even identifying the business by name. No greeting, just a surly "Ya?!", as if I caught him at an inconvenient time. The employee confirmed that UPS picks up daily at 4:30pm so I plan my afternoon accordingly. I arrive with a smile at 3:20pm and stand at the countertop scale. It takes a moment of me standing in front of him before he finally acknowledges me with a wave of his hand to the piles of other packages by the door: "Leave there... Not going out til tomorrow..." Me: "Tomorrow? Both you AND UPS confirmed your location's pick up is at 430pm daily." Him: "No. 3pm to 315pm every day." With a heavy sigh, I mutter "Thanks" and leave with my package still in tow. Do yourself a favor and take your mailing needs elsewhere. There are plenty of other options nearby. If my package wasn't so large, I'd use the neighborhood drop box instead of having to come in. I'm not sure what's up with all of these other people complaining, but I've been going here to ship out packages for the past 3 years and nothing has been anything but great. Zach, the guy in charge, is actually a very nice guy. He knows what he's doing and tries the best to help me find the cheapest, yet efficient way to send out my packages. At times when the store gets busy, he tries his best to accommodate all of his costumers as quick as he can - which is terrific since he is usually the only one working. He has many regulars which I've noticed he is very friendly too, occasionally sparking up pleasant convos. Organization is great in the shop, and has a clean atmosphere. read more

Do not go to this location!! Worker tells me they aren't responsible for my package!! WTF!! You scanned my items and can't print a receipt for me and then you couldn't even reprint!! I demanded him to write the tracking numbers on a post it they have. I said, well I dropped it off here and you scanned it. So UPS arrives they will scan it. MAN...if moving isn't hard enough! This postal annex also rents out U-Hauls for your moving purposes. I called to see if I could reserve one for Sunday and the guy that answered the phone was totally rude. First of all he wasn't very enthusiastic and it was hard to get out any information from him! Unfortunately they are closed on Sundays so I cannot rent the U-Haul for them. Then he told me to go somewhere else but didn't give me anything information on another Postal Annex I could go...so before he hung up I stopped him and he gave me a number finally! MASSIVE RIP OFF! You will be charged double, and will be treated like garbage. I went here today to mail a 1 pound package from Millbrae to Sunnyvale, Yup, the Sunnyvale that is 30 miles away. My one pound box (weighed already at home on a postage scale) and small box rate was $5.80 per the USPS website. I go here, the very, very rude Indian owner weights my package looks me up and down and apparently decided "this very pregnant lady with the nice car clearly is a good candidate for my scam." and announces the postage is $10. Since when is postage a flat rate? Anyway, I ask him the weight and he says "2 pounds" i tell him that is impossible, and ask him to show me the scale. He refuses. I tell him usps.com give a rate of $5.80. He says they are wrong. (huh?, the post office generally is the expert at the cost of postage.) He tells me its $10 for next day, and I must be looking at 2 day pricing. I try to explain to him where Sunnyvale is located and that all mail from the Peninsula to Silicon Valley would be "next day" and that besides, I don't need it there next day. I ask him to charge me his "2 Day" rate and he tells me that isn't coming up on the computer. The entire time this god awful Indian music is blaring through the store, just as an added non bonus. I finally just paid and left as I did need the package to go out and the post office was already closed. Please avoid this place. CVS in the same strip mall can provide shipping services, go there. read more

The "Plus" in their name adds rude service, inability to help customers, and failure to follow up on promises. I called the place and asked whether they can do UK passport photos, which have different dimensions from the US specifications (35x45mm). Zach, the owner, ensured me that it is doable, so I sent my wife and daughter there to do their UK passport photos. When I got home, I was surprised to see a few uncut, as well as a few improperly cut pictures. When I asked my wife what happened, she told me that Zach read the instructions from the UK consulate that she brought with her, then took a few pictures. When my wife asked him to show her the digital images, he refused, telling her that "everything is fine!" However, when he printed the photos, my wife had to ask him to retake hers, as he did not properly take them! After retaking the pictures with attitude, he tried to cut them, but failed miserably, getting mad and impatient during the process. Finally, he said, again with attitude, that he is not going to do it, "you have to cut them yourself". Even after that, he grabbed the photos and wanted to throw them away, but my wife asked to keep them (so we'd actually try cut them ourselves) and paid him $20! She was almost in tears, shocked by Zack's rudeness. I called Zach the next day and asked him what happened. He did not provide me a clear answer; and then, when I asked him why he was rude to my wife, he said that "he reserves the right to refuse service to anyone!" I told him that he is unreasonably rude and unprofessional and should refund us the money for the pictures that he failed to produce as promised. He agreed to refund us the money by saying "come here and get it". Such attitude, rudeness, and lack of business sense is simply shocking! And especially if this is his business, I don't understand how customers can be treated in such manner! Avoid this place at all cost! read more

I went here to send 3 packages to Los Angeles each was 1.5 lbs. I usually send my ups packages from a mailstore near work ( in san mateo) my packages usually go ground to LA and get there the next day (maybe 2 days). But this place was easy to stop at on the way home and I didn't want to wait til the next day to mail it.... I have NEVER EVER paid for UPS to LA and had the package take 7 DAYS!! this is because he didn't get the package out he let it sit in his store for however many days. I should have known better when the creepy guy gave me an angry nasty look as I said Hello when I walked into the store. Hes a jerk and gave terrible service, I knew something would go wrong, and it did. I will never go there again. I could have drove the packages to LA and back in the time he got my mail out. I will be processing a complaint with UPS about this. they need to know this person is ruining their reputation. read more

My new rule of thumb is to be less impatient. I am the type of girl that hates to wait in line, gets annoyed when there is a slow checker, or when the cashier chats with the customer unnecessarily after ringing her up while I'm waiting and just overall is a crabby ass when she has to wait. With that said, when I went into Postal Annex to send out some packages, I saw a line of 3 people. The old me would have gotten mad, but I just reminded myself that the world does not revolve around me as much as I would like it to, and got into the line. It appears to be a one man shop, which is fine as it's a small location. The man was good in the fact that he was multitasking and helping 2 people at a time. While one was filling out a form, he was weighing a package for someone else. But then while he was multitasking so much, when one person was done with their form, he would have to wait while the guy was weighing the other package, so I don't know if this method saved him time or if he would've been better off just helping one customer at a time. At least he gave it an honest effort to quicken up the process. They do standard Postal Annex stuff, ship and mail stuff, they have mail boxes on site, sell a few packing supplies and wrapping stuff. Good place to go if you don't want to wait in the mile long line at the United States Postal Office. Which is always my goal: to avoid that long line. A shorter line, I can now handle. read more

first time i sent money through western union. fees seemed overcharged here compared to what the official website told me. i mentioned it to the person and replied it was a computer thing and denied any wrongdoing. but i shrugged it off since i was in a hurry. next, i told the person that the receiver should receive it in dollars, the person confirmed this during the setup stage although i wasn't comfortable with the persons answer. once the receipt came out, i wanted assurance that they'd receive it in dollars since it said different on the receipt/info paper, the person then took back everything agreed on and insisted I said otherwise. this happened a week ago and i am still pissed. so pissed I made a review. i'm glad am not alone. hoping for the best for them. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! PERIOD! Can I give a place zero stars? Or perhaps negative 5 stars? If I could that would be my rating for this place. This place should honestly be shut down by the Better Business Bureau, and in fact I think I may put in a complaint with them as soon as I'm done here. I've been to this Postal Annex about half a dozen times, and every time I've been ripped off and/or disrespected by this old guy, Zach, who appears to run the place. This guy is a DESPICABLE CROOK. Period. For starters, he is passive-aggressively rude and disrespectful to his customers. He plays up this whole I'm-an-old-nice-man act, when in reality he is anything but! And his favorite thing to do when someone calls him out on his shyster ways, is shrug his shoulders and proclaim "I don't know, my friend" with a goofy-ass look on his face, as if he's clueless as to why you're focusing your blame on him. Worse than his demeanor are his blatantly dishonest business practices. I've given this a-hole so many chances. I've shipped through UPS, Fed Ex, and USPS with him, and he's purposely overcharged me on EVERY type of delivery service. His favorite crook technique when shipping Fed Ex is to claim that Fed Ex Ground service is not available for your package. Only the more expensive services are available. Isn't that convenient! Before every visit I calculate my shipping costs on FedEx.com or UPS.com and always bring in the exact quote from the website based on the weight and dimensions of the box I need to ship. And, wouldn't you know it, every single time he grossly overcharges me and claims that the less expensive shipping service I desired isn't available. "It's not on the computer, my friend. I don't know, my friend." "You're not my friend! My friends don't lie and cheat people all day! When shipping USPS he also tried to overcharge me by weighing and measuring a FLAT-RATE box instead of simply plugging in the flat rate price. Then he told me USPS Delivery Confirmation was $1.30, when everyone knows it's 65 cents. I had to call him out on both of these to get him to put in the correct price. In addition, after requesting USPS Delivery Confirmation he tried telling me that UPS was the service I needed to use in order to have tracking on a package, which is a complete lie. And as if lying, price-gouging, and an arrogant demeanor weren't enough, Zach's customer service is horrible. He gets off on trying to service 14 people at once, while simultaneously making all of them wait twice as long as they should have to. Instead of completing one task at once, he makes a pathetic attempt to multi-task, randomly stopping one task he's in the middle of and going on to half-complete the next. I've had several people who entered after me served before me simply because Zach felt that their services would take less time to complete! And I know 4 other guys in my office who have had the exact same experiences with this slimeball. So don't go thinking I'm some raving lunatic. I used to be a calm, understanding guy, but that was before I walked into the Postal Annex on 851 Cherry Ave. read more
