The owner was above and beyond helpful and wanted my picture to look nice so took my photo a few times to make sure I was happy. I can't believe this! Every single time I've used FedEx or UPS directly, it's been smooth, but the one time I drop off a return at this particular location, it gets lost? An iPhone, headed back to Apple, vanished! Something clearly went wrong here. FedEx says they never picked it up, and the location claims it was picked up from their store. Really? Let me start out by saying I am truly not the type of person that lets little things bother me. However, I just had an insane experience at this Danville location. I went in with two packages- already taped up with label print outs ready to go. I asked the female employee, may have been the owner of this franchise, if she can help me affix the labels to the packages as I didn't have a plastic sleeve to put them in. She handed me two plastic sleeves and told me to do them myself. I started folding them and asked how to open one of the sleeves bc it had several places to peel off. Her response -" It's not rocket science!" I brushed it off and asked if this is generally a task they don't help out with anymore. With a straight face, she replied that they are having customers affix their own labels because the busy holiday season is approaching and they won't have the time to help customers do it. I had to rent a truck to empty out my recently-closed office in San Ramon and this was the place UHaul's website directed me to. While the people who work here are incredibly nice, the UHaul rental was a bit of a cluster Eff. I made the reservation for 9 AM but the store didn't open until about 9:30. Not a huge deal, but then I was told that the truck I had reserved had not been returned yet so I either had to take a small van or look elsewhere. I am only in California for a few days, primarily to close my office, so I took the small van. Because they didn't have the right sized vehicle I ended up having to make three trips instead of one. When I went to drop the keys off at the end of the day, there was a long wait. Moving is a PITA and having issues like this make it even less pleasant. read more

You included the envelope in my shipping cost which was ~$25, and then called me back an hour later asking for more money, a total of ~$50. By the way, the envelope was $2 and is inconsequential to me and probably to you, but it is the gesture that matters. Over many years I have used this locations services for anything from notary, to shipping, to purchasing gift bags, etc. CAROL was the first owner I remember and she was fantastic. I had an unusual experience at this store the other day. I was there to mail a package and I accidentally Knocked some hand sanitizer over that was unseen, by me, because of my parcel. I felt embarrassed and sorry. A kind girl said it was ok, accidents happen and I helped her clean up the mess. When I went to check out, I had purchased a number of items, I was told I needed to pay for the broken sanitizer which was around $14.00. I was also told this came directly from the owner who was not there, but that I could receive a 25% discount. So essentially I got a 25% discount on a product that I could not take with me because it was broken. Kind of unusual store policy. I would have been ok paying the owners cost, so she was not out any money, but for her to make any profit on this just seemed unnecessary. It just irked me. Yes, this was my mistake. Yes, I felt badly about it. I just think it could have been handled better. I guess I will consider it a donation. read more

I thought I would save some time by not going to the post office & buying my holiday stamps at Postal Annex. I purchased 5 sheets of the Santa stamps (20 stamps per sheet) and was charged $13 per sheet for a total of $65. I didn't think much of the total until I returned home & checked the cost of the stamps online on the USPS website. I was so surprised & disgusted to find out that one sheet (20 stamps per sheet) of the Santa stamps are only $11. I was charged an extra $2/sheet for a total of $10 EXTRA that was completely unnecessary. Had I known that Postal Annex was charging extra for the same stamps that I could purchase at the post office or at Costco - I would have NEVER purchased them at Postal Annex. This information needs to be posted and the customer needs to be informed of the price difference. read more

How do I get the attention of this store? I selected this store from the list of iPostal1 mail forwarding locations. For the first 6 months all I needed to do was stop in once a month and pick up my mail. $2 to pick up... double what everyone else charged, but it was convenient. On Jan 1 they raised their prices for mail and package pickup, $3 to pick up mail $6 to pick up a package. TRIPLE what every other location charges. I'm overseas now for 2 months. A week ago, I paid for a scan and shred package and requested they scan 2 of my mail items and forward to me. After 3 days, nothing. So I emailed them, as these are time sensitive mail items that I need ASAP. Another 3 days, and NOTHING. So now a week later and it's complete RADIO SILENCE from my mail forwarding service that I am paying to forward my mail. I will be sending a complaint to iPostal1 about this location. In the meantime, I have no idea how to get my mail from them. What I do know is how fast I'm pulling my business out of this place when I get home. 2 stars because the owner is a nice enough lady, but I'm sorry, you have failed to do anything that I hired you to do and raised my costs for you to not do it. read more

I went to this store on a Saturday to mail out a bunch of documents. It was about 300 pages. The guy at the store first told me it would $108. I hesitated, then he said maybe we can give you bubble wrap and it would only cost $62. I had to mail 3 of these, so the total cost came out to be $185 approx. I had no knowledge on the cost of it and I went with this option. A week later, I had to mail out the same number of documents to the same address. This time I went to a fedex store in crow canyon. It costed me $14.85 for the same. I really felt ripped off by this store. The person at the store was nice but what good it is when you rip off people like this? read more

My husband and I's first experience at this place was very nice, as we rented two dollys and furniture pads from a nice young man who was working that day. We had a 2pm pick up time, and an 11am drop off time the next day. But, he had told us that we wouldn't be charged for another day until 2pm, the 24 hour mark of when we would have rented the supplies. So, my husband and I came a little late to return the supplies at 1pm. When we walked in, the employee that was there was helping a customer with his finger prints. She never acknowledged us as we walked in, and so we had let her know we were there to drop off our supplies. She then just told us to set them down in the back. Once we did that, we just stood there awkwardly waiting for her to be done with the other customer. She never once told us she would be with us in a minute, or ever communicated that she was going to help us close out our rental. As we are waiting, another customer walks in. She doesn't acknowledge him either, and just keeps helping her first customer. Now there are two other customers waiting, and we stood there for about 10 minutes before she finally acknowledged us and started to close out our rental. However, we wanted to keep one of the dollys for a couple more days to help with our move. She complained that our 3 supplies were all on one contract, and I had then tried to ask if we could just close out the first one and then make a new one for the one dolly, and she told me that she has too many customers and she would not be able to close the contract and open another one. My husband was then fed up and had told her we would just return all three supplies and be done with the transaction. He said he would go get the other dolly from our car so her and I could finish closing out the current contract. She did not say anything to acknowledge that, and once my husband left she went back to helping her first customer and not closing out the contract with me. As for the customer that had walked in after us, he had asked for a packing slip to fill out and was doing all the work himself. He even weighed his package by himself and went behind the counter to read how much it weighed. She didn't even give him a receipt or help him while he was doing this. He just left the package on the counter and left. Once my husband came back with the dolly, she was still with her first customer literally holding his hand and showing him over and over how to do his finger prints. My husband and I then waited 10-15 more minutes before she finally closed out our contract, and she tried to charge us double even though it hadn't been over 24 hours. That action, to me, is very very disrespectful. We told her that we were told we wouldn't be charged twice until 2pm, and she acted like she "changed" the time so it would only be one charge and not double. She acted like she was doing us a favor in not charging us double even though on our receipt our times say differently. She has absolutely no concept or education of good customer service. Considering the other reviews on this place about her, she needs to be replaced. She is not respectful and does not know how to run a business. read more

It was a painless experience picking up my reserved U-Haul at PostAnnex+. I called prior to heading over there notifying I would be a couple of hours late. They informed me not to worry and that my U-Haul is reserved as requested. Upon my arrival, there was only one person working. There was a total of 4 customers including myself waiting to be helped. The employee was pretty quick processing everyone. Next thing I knew it I got my keys and I was on my way. Excellent customer service. For those picking up a U-Haul, I suggest parking at the back parking lot. That's where they keep all of the trucks. There is also a backdoor entrance into PostAnnex+. Beware that the trucks may be parked very close together; therefore, I suggest bringing a friend as a spotter when exiting the parking lot if necessary. read more

We get there at 2:35pm and the guy at the counter is on the phone handling another customer. Rarely write reviews but feel prompted to do so by the high quality of the service received recently at the Postal Annex in Danville. On a Friday afternoon I brought a package for shipment of items urgently needed by a family member stuck with Covid in Mexico. Co-owner Pinal identified DHL as having the fastest delivery schedule, re-packaged the shipment in a DHL folder, and assured me DHL would pick up the shipment before CoB. DHL did so - but, unfortunately, thereafter delayed in sending the shipment and delivery never occurred. Pinal promptly helped coordinate with DHL in arranging for re-routing of the package back to me and then filed a claim for a refund of my shipping cost. Pending DHL's response, she credited my account for part of that cost - very professionally handled. read more

*UPDATE* THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!! I needed to ship a package to the San Jose area. They were going to charge me $52-$57 for 2 day shipping with no guarantee. I took my package and drove down the street to USPS. I paid $20.05 for next day guaranteed delivery with a confirmation # (free of charge). Their margins are insane! I will never go here to ship anything, only to drop off packages that are already prepaid. Might I also add - they charge more for stamps too. Also, I sent a small item in a yellow, padded envelope that was going to Los Angeles. They charged me $11 for no rush shipping. My husband sent the exact same item through USPS and paid $3 and the receiver received the package the next day. I want to support our local businesses, but not this place. read more

Realizing I would be passing by the postal annex that day, I thought it better to reserve in person. So I headed over about 30 mins after seeing it available online. When I arrived I could hear something like a t.v. on coming from the back room but I was the only person in the main part of the store. The heavy door closed loudly behind me and I stood there for a minute before turning around to leave. There wasn't a soul in sight. When I turn to leave that is when I hear a very unenthusiastic "is there something I can QUICKLY help you with?" So nobody else is around to help, but I am under a time limit now. I brought the lady up to speed... saw a 10 ft truck available for 9 a.m. the next day. "Yea it is available" she replied, "but let's make it 9:15 or 9:30 in case I am running late." Well good thing I didn't reserve it online! I would have no idea when I showed up at 9 a.m. to an unopened store, that it was because somebody was already planning the day before to not show up to work on time. That would stress anyone out that is on a moving time crunch. Needless to say I went elsewhere because like many in need of moving I was on a time crunch and needed reliability. I appreciate the correction I am disappointed to hear how horrible my wife was treated at this location in Danville Ca (Camino Tassajara). There is no excuse to raise a voice at the customer. We don't understand the disconnect and the how we felt to be that we were trying to deceive a local business in an area we truly respect and love. We didn't move far and plan to continue business in the area. Just not this store. We feel we've been truly violated as individuals and wonder why anyone would do business in this store. We've obviously only moved 6 miles away. Being over charged the second time should clearly state the unorganized or shady data that's produced here if it's even an accident at all? I suppose moving isn't a daily purchase for most which makes us wonder if they don't think we will come back for business again so it doesn't matter if service isn't up to par. Well they made certain we will go somewhere else and I'll be sure to warn the rest of our colleagues and friends as well. If nothing is retracted for the other purchase I have nothing else to lose. It's not too much that was lost price wise. I can't say it will be true for this store though. All they lose is trust from good people in the area. Uhaul is a good company, but renting Uhaul truck with this company is not worth it. If you decide to rent Uhual trucks through this company, make sure to take a picture of the mileage before and when you return it as well. And make sure they do not charge you for an extra days. Just needed to comment on how wonderful this store is for shipping either UPS or FEDEX. Over the years, I've been using various shipping stores, but never realized that so many are limited to either Fedex OR UPS. I called today to have 2 boxes picked up by UPS and 2 by Fedex . This is the only store in the area where you could do BOTH! The owner answered my phone call this morning and was so pleasant and welcoming for me to drop off my packages. I was there several months ago and used them to ship a heavy set of books . The agent took the time to compare shipping prices for both UPS and Fedex. He carefully packaged everything and it was shipped with no hassles for me. Really a great place . No need to use anyone else . They notarize as well.
