I have been a customer of this store for over a decade. I have always received excellent customer service except last week. The owner who is always very gracious was not present unfortunately. I was in a hurry and wanted to quickly drop a return package. There was no customer in front of me and I got the most horrible customer service from the two employees who were there. The person who claimed to be the store manager was absolutely unreasonable. I was trying to return three items to Shopbop (which is part of Amazon). As I've done many times before, I packed all the items into one box with a single shipping label on the outside and included the remaining labels inside the box to save packaging. However, the manager refused to accept it without offering any explanation or willingness to discuss. I tried to explain that I've shipped this exact way many times before without any issues, but he simply said, "there is no discussion and It's not happening in this store." Omg!! I successfully retuned them at a different UPs store. At other UPS locations, they simply told me they couldn't control the shipping status if I chose that way, which I fully understood and still processed it as long as I sealed the box myself. (I always brought my own tape) Here, the attitude was rude, inflexible, and dismissive. Very disappointing experience. Please follow the merchant's return process instead of making up your own rules. To respond the comment below, I did offer to let him use just one barcode on the box, which was totally fine with me since it consolidates all returns under one shipment. Also, please train your employees to communicate properly and show basic courtesy. It's not too much to expect a simple explanation instead of an "it is what it is" attitude. Night & day difference - THIS is how you do customer service! I brought the same return item here after the UPS Store on Bollinger in Gale Ranch gave me the 'not my problem' routine. The staff member here also said it couldn't ship as-is, but instead of shutting me down, he offered a solution - an oversized shipping bag for $4. Quick, courteous, problem solved. UPS store provides extreme convenience services when it comes to Amazon package returns. I always go to the one on Regional. This one on Marketplace in San Ramon is my least favorite. 1. It refuses to accept Amazon return during holidays season. 2. It refuses to accept packages in clear plastic packaging. That's what Amazon sent! Or pay $2 for an envelope. Note to the owner: I was there between 9:05 to 9:20am April 5th, 2024. The staff in store told me that clear bag package isn't allowed by UPS policy although he knows Amazon sent as it. My first time here at this location and a very positive experience. Friendly and efficient would be the key words to describe it. I needed passport photos. After calling around for pricing, decided this location was the one to go. Walked in asked for passport photo help and walked out 5 mins later with my photos in hand. There were several other people that came after me for photos as well, the photographer/associate was quick and got all of our orders completed within a few mins. During the pic taking, the associate even asked if I was happy with the pic first before proceeding thru rest of transaction, I thought that was extremely considerate. I just have to read the directions that Amazon is asking me to do either customer packed which mean I provide a box or a bag to return or no box no label and that kiosk has plastic bags that I put my product in and seal it with the label that is provided from the label maker from the QR code read more

DO NOT SHIP ANYTHING YOU DONT WANT TO LOSE HERE. I would give this location a 0/5 rating if I could. I dropped off my package, and 5 days later it was reported that the box was damaged and the contents were "missing". Obviously, one of the employees here stole the contents of the package and left the box because it never left this location after I had dropped it off. I've never had a UPS store steal my items until now. They don't even inform you that your delivery had issues, and I had to check the tracking number to find out what happened. Shady employees work here and I'll never bring my business back. Edit: It's not very professional how this business is responding to me. They sounds very condescending. As you can see, the damage was reported at the same place as where I dropped the package off. So it obviously didn't make it anywhere before it was stolen. That explains my "thinking process". Instead of worrying first about public reputation and firing back at a customer, how about reaching out to me to try to figure this out? That's what good customer service would look and sound like. This location is not as obvious as I thought it would be - it is next to Vitality Bowl, somewhat "behind" Raleys/Trader Joes. I thought it would be in the same complex as Raleys/Trader Joes but it is NOT. Don't make the same mistake as me. Once I walked in the place, the service was quick and efficient. It's pretty small but that's what I expect of a UPS location. So if you're looking for another UPS location in San Ramon, there's one near the marketplace but location is not as apparent as I thought it would be. read more

I never wrote reviews. This is my first time for a negative review. My wife and I did our best today to pick up packages from this store and the staff who claimed himself as the manager refused to release the package per his "protocol". We called UPS customer support and clarified with the agency that we have sufficient document to pick up the package and we brought the phone into store while the support was still on and hoped customer support could get the store staff on the same page. Unfortunately they could not agree with each other about the so called "protocol". I hope UPS as a company has the same rule but it doesn't seem so. We felt so frustrated and complained, but then we were treated so disrespectfully by the staff yelling at us to "leave and get out" pointing us to the door after he thought he could not resolve this with me. This is so horrible. I doubt even if this staff is actually the manager. When I say manager I mean the business owner. I hope the owner could respond to me on this matter in that case through a phone call and I can update the review afterwards. But if he is actually the owner then I don't expect anything respectful from his potential responses knowing how my wife and I were treated today. read more

All the staff from youngest to oldest are amazing here. They are very professional and great at customer service. I've tried to recruit some of this staff because they do very well at this location. The young people that work here are a great example for the Bay Area and what we offer in personality. I am very proud of these young people for working hard and putting effort into their job. Getting passport photos taken can be stressful, given that it's a photo that will follow you around for a decade. However AJ made the process extremely easy and stress-free. I think we tried 5 or 6 retakes, and he was kind and understanding during each one, letting me try again until I got a take I was happy with. I do not feel safe at this store. I have been in a few times when a customer walked in without a mask, when they asked them to put it on the customer refused and they continued business as usual...uh...so what's the point of asking!? Common courtesy to the general public is to offer alternative services (assist them at their car or by the phone), or ask them to leave. Well it bit them in the butt because sure enough a week or so later One of the employees wouldn't let me in because their boss had been diagnosed with covid. Walked into this UPS store today to return three Comcast T.V. controller boxes. The gentlemen at the counter wanted to place all three in the same box. I asked if he could document that there was three controller boxes. He said he could not. I then asked if he could do three separate returns so I had a record that I was returning THREE controller boxes. He said no, we can't do that either. I said fine, send one back, and I will go to another UPS store and return the other two boxes, AND write a review for POOR CUSTOMER service. At this point the manager, an Indian woman, steps in and says "YOU NEED A MASK." I advised her I had a medical reason for not wearing it. She says then you need to bring in the medical reason! I advised her that I did not need to show proof of my medial reason. She then accused me of being difficult to deal with. I advised her my request was not unreasonable. At this point I took all three controller boxes out of the store. The very next UPS store I went to polity scanned the SERIAL numbers on ALL three controllers and gave me a receipt with the serial numbers of each controller box. The first store, with the poor customer service, only scanned the serial number for ONE controller. -Lame! The customer service at this store is not up to UPS standards. I will never go back to this store! The customer service at the second store was outstanding! read more
