Great food. Great service. Vegan gluten free. Women and locally owned. Left super happy

Quick drop in for soup and coffee. After allowing me to taste two soups, I still couldn't decide which one to get. The server said "get a cup of both"! So I did. Perfect. We also had a waffle. 5* food, service, environment. Beautiful bathrooms, thanks for that.

Love it! Tricky parking I love the waffles! Amazing service, fresh, fantastic, fulfilling, flavorful, frothy dandy lattes!! Be back next week!

Falafel Wrap

My friend suggested this spot since they accommodate for dietary restrictions. Neither of us are vegan though! They have two rooms you can dine in. But the main room is smaller. My friend got kombucha and tried the taco bowl while I went with the falafel wrap. Delicious! And pretty filling! The falafel was more like a spread. And instead of a tortilla wrap, they used something that tasted and looked like teff. Very fresh ingredients! We did try some of the baked goods. I got a chocolate chip cookie that was gluten free. A bit too crumbly but it was good. Parking isn't my fave. It backs out onto the street but there was space for me to turn my car around just a bit.

Found this gem looking for a Vegan restaurant while passing through Columbus. I wish I had found it sooner as we are in Columbus a lot! I have Celiac disease and multiple food allergies that I've dealt with the last 12 years. Finding a place with all gluten free and vegan food is just unheard of, and we travel a lot! I was in happy tears when looking at the menu as everything sounded amazing and I actually had a whole menu to choose from! We decided on the tofu gyro wrap and falafel Mediterranean wrap, the spinach artichoke dip with toasted tortillas, cheesy loaded potatoes, pecan pie, blondie macaron, mushroom latte.. from the menu! They also have a large cooler with desserts, craft sodas, kombuchas and teas. They also offer breakfast all day, which was horrible as I also wanted to try those dishes too!! We live in Cincinnati, which is not too far away, and plan to be a regular at Portia's. If they ever want to start a chain restaurant in Cincy, I'd love to invest! We have nothing like this in Cincy (we are the worst city for vegan/gf, ughhh) Highly recommend no matter what your diet requires, you need to eat here! . It's good, healthy, whole food that is made with care!

This is some of the tastiest healthy food I have ever had. Everything on the menu is vegan and gluten free. I am not a vegan myself and I think anyone could find something to enjoy here. We had lunch, but the breakfast dishes that we saw coming out looked incredible. If you like guacamole, do not miss it here - so good!

This is the e best vegan restaurant I've had in Columbus! They have various snacks and desserts out front, you can order takeout from the front cashier or sit down in either side of the restaurant. The menu is large, so there's certainly something for everyone. My boyfriend loves meat, and he said that Portia's may turn him vegan. Smoothies, wraps, small plates, breakfast options all day, it's a wonderful spot! And, prices are reasonable for the food. The beet salad was great to save overnight and enjoy as a lunch the next day.

Came in with a friend for a late lunch. The service was absolutely amazing! Got the taco salad and it was delicious! I would definitely come back and try more things on the menu!

Very relaxing ambience. I got the pad Thai, spinach artichoke dip, and a matcha latte -- SO GOOD. Workers were very kind!

Food is always outstanding, service is even better. Very home-y and welcoming environment! Always feel great after coming here.

We started with a Hot Apple Cider, topped with maple-infused whipped cream and cinnamon, along with a couple of hot coffees. The cider was warm, comforting, and full of cozy fall flavors. Unfortunately, the self-serve coffee station wasn't kept stocked, and after waiting quite a while for a refill, we eventually gave up. For breakfast, we ordered two Mushroom Frittatas, a Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, and a side of Housemade Breakfast Sausage. The Mushroom Frittata featured three hearth-baked eggs with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, and Gruyère cheese, served alongside breakfast potatoes and a peppery arugula salad. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, served with strawberry preserves, was one of the highlights of the meal. It was flaky, buttery, and wonderfully moist, pairing perfectly with the sweet preserves. The Housemade Breakfast Sausage consisted of two peppery pork patties that were juicy and well-seasoned, making a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast with fresh, high-quality ingredients. While I wish the coffee station had been monitored more closely and that greater care had been taken regarding my food allergy, the Mushroom Frittata and fresh biscuit alone make Northstar Café worth returning to.

We…read morespent over $80 on a to-go order that included two Gina's Gem, a big cheese pizza, and a salad. The pizza arrived cold but was still edible. Unfortunately, the Gina's Gem was nothing like what was advertised. I was expecting warm, crusty bread with a roasted cheese dip on the side so you could tear pieces of bread and dip them into the cheese. Instead, the cheese had already been spread directly onto the bread and toasted together. Because of that, the bread lost the texture you would expect--it wasn't crusty or dippable at all. It ended up soft, almost soggy, and the cheese was baked onto the bread rather than being a dip. The whole appeal of the dish was supposed to be the warm bread with the roasted cheese to dip into, and that part was completely missing. Included with the bread was a hot honey that missed the mark on being "hot" and some kind of jam. These options just made everything even more soft....which should have been impossible. The salad was actually the best part of the meal - even though it was a bit spicy. I've always had good experiences here in the past, so this was a big letdown--especially for the price. I just wish the to-go version of the dish matched how it's described, or that expectations were set correctly when ordering. Unfortunately, this experience made me lose all trust in ordering from here again. I can't believe we waited until exactly 3pm (when they opened) to order this.... At the very least the pizza should have been hot.

A place you need to at least experience and judge for yourself. Great thing is they have an All American menu with plenty of plant-based options. Something for everyone. The chicken and waffles are something I'll never understand. People love 'em, it's a lasting fad, I'll try them. These are pretty good. Not good enough to make a convert of me, but recommended. I don't quite get the whole chicken is made from King oyster mushrooms, thing. Huh? No matter. I ate it. Really enjoyed it. Highlight for me was the excellent service and the total ambiance of the place. Can't speak to the value for the buck aspect, but i believe we'll be back! 08/24

Once more into the chicken and waffles adventure…read more This time, my buddy obviously was looking to change things up a bit and suggested vegan chicken and waffles. Really?! I didn't even know they existed. But yea, they are out there and they are...delicious. I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant (okay, really hesitant) when we walked into the small but friendly Lifestyle Cafe. Ordering was a breeze; walk up to the iPad thing and out your own order in, customizing as you please. Unfortunately they were out of the mushroom version so we got the Seitan and Soy versions. He ordered the Seitan and i ordered the soy but we split it up so we could each try. First, the waffles. A bit darker than expected but excellent. You could really taste the cinnamon and coconut sugar brûlée, which was a nice differentiator. Solid waffle. The Seitan was great, deep flavor and nice crunchiness. The soy was decent but it was basically soy with some batter, not nearly as much flavor. I am not vegan but I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu. If they can make a solid vegan chicken and waffles, I'm interested to see what else they can do.

I went here for my birthday and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was worth it…read more I ordered the steak, my boyfriend got the lobster ravioli, and we added salmon to the mix because why not go all in on a birthday dinner. Every single plate was hitting. The steak was cooked exactly how I asked, seasoned well, and actually had flavor all the way through. The lobster ravioli was rich but not heavy, and the salmon was flaky and done right, not dry at all. What really made it though was the service. They were attentive without hovering, kept the drinks coming, and made it feel like a special night without being extra about it. For a birthday dinner, that matters. If you're going, don't go playing small. Order what you actually want. It's one of those places where you lean into the experience and enjoy it. Solid food, great service, and a good spot for something worth celebrating.
