A very intelligent friend of mine referred me to this Garage when I lost faith in the place I was taking cars to. So we brought in my husband's Mustang and he usually takes it to the dealership. This was so much nicer because the estimate wasn't shocking and the time they took to do the work was extremely Quick compared to what we used to. I'm such a fan of this shop. I now took my bosses car there and I'll probably only come here from now on. All the people that I've talked to you that work here, well two men are super nice Most importantly, it definitely feels like they're not trying to rip you off Today they're looking at her AC and they said they don't think anything's wrong with it. I just took it away from a shop that wanted $2700 so the integrity of this shop is amazing. Thank you read more

I have used Porter's Garage for around 30 years. They have always been dependable and reliable as my children attended college. Porters kept their cars running. If you need reliable and honest service, I would highly recommend Porter's Garage. read more

Very good service and timely. The prices was fair and better than the dealer. I recommend highly

If you're a woman DO NOT go. I made an appointment to come in on a Tuesday, I showed up Tuesday, explained I was there to drop off my car for a strange sound it's been making. I then get told he can't help me today and there's no room "how about Friday". Then I explain the sounds my car has been making (sounds they supposedly couldn't get my car to make last time I took it to this shop) and offer to show Steve an audio clip of the sound. He immediately shut me down saying hearing the audio wouldn't help and that it's not a big deal and I can drive the car the way it is. It is DEFINITELY a big deal. My car will not run as is and I'm having to get it taken to a different shop. Also the entire time we were having the conversation I felt completely brushed off- like I was just a nuisance and didn't know what I was talking about. And from reading some of the other comments on here I'm pretty sure Steve isn't a fan of his female costumers. He just lost this one and my mother who regularly used to take her car here. Would not recommend read more

Horrible customer service- never going here again. I was initially excited to use this service, but the day i got there- it seemed like everyone was in a bad mood. My concerns as a client weren't met. Will not give this place a second chance. read more

Porter's Garage has always been the place that fixes my vehicles after another mechanics shop screws something up. I finally got it my thick skull to take it to Porter's first. I have always found their prices to be fair, their guidance honest, and their work to be top quality. And Steve in the front is always game for a quick chat. You won't regret using their service's for your vehicles. read more

Good guys and very reliable work. I highly recommend! They own their work. You can count on them. read more

Just had some work done on my truck at Porters. After searching around and pricing other auto repair garages, I found this place to have the best and fair prices. After I decided to have them do the work on my truck I found that they did a very good job. I've decided to have them do all mechanical work on my family vehicle. Yes, I recommend Porters for good honest and fair prices. read more

If you are looking for some honest people to work on your vehicle this is the place. I've taken my vehicles here recently after years of my grandfather recommending me to use this business. I don't think I can go anywhere else now after experiencing the service I have received here. The techs have been able to work on my newer vehicles as well as my older ones that some shops have no knowledge of. Proving an ability to complete any service requested. The best part is the value of the service you get here, and I feel that is very hard to find nowadays. read more

I went here and omg Steven I'm not sure what his name was but it was something like faue. I went inside this shop and looked for help and he spit on me because I was a girl asking for air in my tires. He looked me straight up and down and told me to die. I would not recommend this auto repair shop because of this one person. Please be careful girls because people like this exist in this world. read more

We all know how mechanics are, for the most part. Not at porters. Easy to talk to you on the phone. Easy to deal with when you get there. They did not gouge me in prices and did not bullshit. Me on what was going on with my car. Also, they were the third place I went to. My issue was minor in comparison however, I will go back if I'm needing mechanic services again. read more

I love this auto shop! I've been taking our 2010 Mercedes here for years for smog checks.

Conflicted.... My dad took his truck here. They fixed it and we're friendly and fair. Unfortunately not all was well. Ladder was stolen. Prior to service verbal assurance was given that work tools and materials would be fine. Then, referred to their fine print of not responsible. Truck works good though. And they have fair price. read more

Good experience, fast work and car runs great! I feel like they are honest. That's hard to find sometime.

X mechanic with 35 years experience, and disabled. I moved to Riverside in 2002 and had a hard time trusting shops to work on my vehicles. One of my friends told me about Porter's. Couldn't be happier. Steve is easy to deal with and sharp when it comes to cars. Needlessly say I found a shop I could trust, and have been using them ever since. read more

I went here on a recommendation from another auto repair shop. Here are the reasons for their one-star review: 1.) No greeting: I arrive and they didn't even greet me. All the guys saw me and kept working, some just standing around. The employees ignored me 2.) NO service: I asked, if I could I get a quote and one guy was acting like it was such a burden and said to wait a few mins. After waiting for 20 mins and no response, I decided to leave. RUDE SERVICE! I felt like I was back in some hick town and this was the only auto repair in town. read more

Reasonable prices, honest people with speedy delivery. I've been here 3 times already and always satisfied with Steve and their service.

Engine check light came on and they were able to look at our car the same day in the afternoon and replace a belt before 5 that day!

I am writing this review for my 72 years old mother who has been dealing with Porter's Garage for many years now. She always speaks very highly of their overall customer service from the gentleman behind the counter to the service technicians. If you are looking for a place you can trust this is the repair shop for you. Thank you Porter's for always being fair and honest in taking good care of my moms car. Have a Blessed Day !!! read more

No one at counter at first, then someone directed us to back of shop. Then Steve showed up, and took charge. Told wife and me to stay in car, enjoy the A/C and radio and kick back. He proceeded to smog the car quickly and efficiently . Overall entire visit took very little time and with Steve's sense of humor it was fun. Highly recommend. read more

I've been going to Porter's for over 50 years! In the early 70s, when I was in High School, I started frequenting Porter's, and I've been going back ever since! If Steve (previously John) offers a particular repair, I'll chose them over any other auto repair shop in town! They are knowledgeable, friendly, and they offer fast and fair priced services. I'm getting ready to have them rebuild a transmission, and change a timing belt for me, and I've never even considered going anywhere else. Plus, you don't have to worry about being conned into repairs, and/or parts, you really don't need. They are both honest and fair! read more

I was really impressed with this garage. They were very helpful on the phone discussing my car's issues, were able to get me in and everything fixed the same day, and charged a very reasonable price for the work I had done. by far the best customer and mechanical service i have experience. Dave was very thorough thru the repair process. Broke down options based on budget and just knew how to make things work for the car and owner. Dave is the man!!!! thank u sir read more

Avoid, I went to the garage for a simple fix which I could do but don't own tools. The excuse was did not have the part. A reasonable response. The 1st mechanic just said no. I started leaving and the 1st one walked into the walked into the garage. He started talking to the 2nd mechanic and clearly they didn't care. The 2nd mechanic laughed at me really loudly thinking I could not hear him as I was walking away. Unprofessional, don't go here. read more

Porters was recommend to me by a friend. I thought since he was in Riverside for so long, he'd be reputable. I explained the problem with my car and he told me he has to keep the car overnight. I asked if I could get a ride home, he said yes. He kept the car over night and all the next day. He did a couple of things to the car trying to guess the problem and charged me $100.00. He charged a battery that was new, and cleaned the buckle on my seat belt, it kept dinging even though I was buckled up. Today when I tried to start the car it was very hard starting, almost didn't start, and the seat belt is still dinging continually when everyone is belted in. I called back and told him it's still doing everything I brought it for in the first place, he says "I guess you can bring it back in next week, but find someone to take you home. It costs me money to have someone take you home" (I'm 5 minutes away)... Well it costs me money too when I have to pay for something that doesn't get fixed. His attitude, lack of customer service, and inability to know the problem or fix the problem will keep me from ever going back. Don't guess so you can charge for the service and keep the customer coming back until you can get it right. Not a happy customer. read more

Beware !!!!! do not get your vehicle service here. I had been going here for over 4 years. I got all work done to my vehicle regularly. So in aug 2016. I got my oil change, change oil and air filter, check belts and hoses , brakes, fluids etc. Everything was checked $101 later. Steve said looks good see u next oil change. My car was making a wierd noises. So I decided to take it to another auto mecha nic. Only 1199 miles later from Porters oil change/looks good comment I was in shock when the new person said my oil is black, I need a oil changed, air and oil filter changed.I needed serpertine belt changed, two front struts with the two mounts, spark plugs and the list goes on.They had to repair broken mount bolts. I was in shock.I said this can not be. I went to my car and showed the person my aug 2016 Porters receipt showing my oil change etc. The person noticed $63 for labor. That is awful high. I am so mad at Porters. I am telling everyone BEWARE. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICE HERE. . read more

A friend recommended this place to me. I took my car here with multiple problems I was noticing with it. My car has 285k miles, so I just knew it was going to be major when the check engine light came on. Steve called me within 30 min telling me what they recommend and the price. I was extremely satisfied with the price and it was nothing major. Olde blue (what I call my car) ran so much better after the TLC Porters garage showed her. The only reason for four stars is they only have the heavy duty mechanic during the week. I've already recommended them to several friends and relatives. read more
