I've come here twice now to get maintenance done, frank was a very professional and gave excellent service. I was coming to get my check engine light checked and some squeaking my back tires was having. Frank and his team identified all the issues and gave me a fair quote. I looked up the price of everything and it was a great deal! They fixed the issues in my car in a very timely manner! I'll definitely come here anytime my car needs service. read more

Great service! Above any beyond! Fair price and no hidden fees and upsell. Honest people.

First off let me say, this place is legit! As soon as I drove on the lot, my man Frank heard the noise my car was making he knew exactly what was wrong with it. He was very professional and a real people person. He and his team were able to fix my car's issue within 4hrs and got it back to me in no time. If you're facing any car troubles, I highly recommend you bring your car here. You will be in great hands and they're not trying to hustle your pockets. The price is very fair! read more

Excellent service, nicest people! I definitely recommend this auto repair! The repair took less than expected

These guys always come through for me. Frank is top notch and always very helpful and knowledgeable. Been going here for a few years now.

Frank, the owner of the shop is very personable. He knows his stuff when it comes to vehicles and tells you like it is. As a young lady who's trying to search for a mechanic on her own, I worried I might get the marked up price for the services I'm asking for. I also worried that the laundry list the dealership provided 'recommended car service' would be used against me by other mechanics. Frank told me honestly what was needed for my vehicle and I saved hundreds of dollars. Support this business! read more

This is "the" place. Family owed and ran. Fair. Well trained. Clean (old as heck but clean). Fair priced. The often stay late to make sure people get their car. Frank is the best! I keep this place in my phone and they're my mechanics for more than 10 years now! They have a waiting area if you need to wait. Bring the team donuts! read more

I was looking for a local auto repair shop and I came across their website. For some reason their shop stood out more to me than the other auto repair shops. I'm so glad that I made the choice to go in. I met Frank who I believe was the shop manager and he was very helpful and professional. I told him about my car issue and he was willing to help me out. I was impressed by the timing it took for my vehicle to be serviced. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who is looking to get their vehicle serviced. Thank you Frank and Team for your service! read more

My older model Honda Accord needed a lot of engine work. Frank was very friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough detailing all the work needed. He was sensitive to the fact that this was my mother's car and how I wanted to keep it in good shape. To my amazement my car was ready in record time! Weighing all my options I truly felt B & J Garage was the best value for me! Thanks to the crew at B & J Garage! read more

I had met the owner, Frank, coincidentally at afterschool pick up for our kids during summer program. We had made some small talk and I noticed his shirt and had recognized the shop as the one down the street from work. Later I had looked up reviews for the place and saw that they came highly rated by so many people. We've been searching for a good mechanic and when it was time to get the brakes replaced in our car, I decided to give this place a try. Check in was easy the morning of drop off. Frank drove me in my car to drop me off at work so I didn't have to arrange transportation, since work was a little over a mile away from the shop. He called with a diagnosis to replace the front brakes, and recommended replacing the rear brakes since they were almost worn out as well. He quoted a price to fix which I felt was a really reasonable price. When they finished work, I was stuck in a meeting so Frank offered to drop the car off at work and leave paperwork and keys in a safe location. I paid them over the phone and I swear the process of getting this car worked on could not have been much easier! Since then the breaks have been working great and I am very pleased with everything from how easy the whole process was to price and quality of work. read more

I went to a few other shops on university, one of which messed up my brakes. The owner of the shop is hands on and very helpful. This is the best mechanic on university by far and most likely in the general area. Pricing was fair and my car was fixed in good time. Will be coming back for any car issues. read more

I understand they might have had to test drive my car, but I don't think it's ok to leave trash from McDonald's in it.

Took my car here not long ago for a noise my car was making. Ended up fixing the alternator and my axel that ended up costing more than expected but now my car is also leaking oil and it did not leak before coming here. Definitely won't be taking my car here again. They fix one or two issues but mess something else up. Very disappointed. I thought I had found a decent place for car repairs but nope! read more

Had something going on with my car? Had no Check engine light so couldn't get a code. Frank the owner is amazing and honest Extremely happy with the service. Definitely recommend this place 100%. read more

My daughter is attending UC Riverside and her 2009 Pontiac started acting up with a check engine light. The reviews on Yelp said B & J Garage is great and we found out they are all all true. Frank checked the car, fixed the 2 separate problems causing the check engine light, inspected the brakes and wipers and was back on the road in one day. He knows his stuff and was great with my novice daughters first repair shop visit. As she exclaimed 'Frank is very nice!' We will use them again for any auto problems. read more

Excellent sevice! Would not trust anyone else to work on my car. Thank you Frank, and your crew, for your knowledge and dedication to the field of auto mechanics. Kandie. read more

I brought my car in because my check engine light turned on. The mechanic waved me in and checked it right on the spot. Turns out my gas cap was slightly loose, so he reset it, and the light hasn't turned on since. I was in and out within a few minutes. They were very helpful. read more

I needed to call roadside to jump my car, needed to get a battery at autozone but was told that my battery was too corroded for them to remove it and a mechanic would need what was needed to do it so they recommended this place. I was in and out in about 30min. Being a single woman doing these errands alone, I feel like I could be swindled and given the run around but I called my brother in law before hand and what he told me to expect is what Frank and his team did for me. I was confident in Frank and his team to remove my battery, and install a new one and he even gave me a discount for paying in cash! The price was worth it and I highly appreciated he took me in less than an hour before he closed for the day! Thank you! I will be back if I need anything else! He is very honest and was very helpful. read more

Frank is great. However the rest of his team not so much...other men are very rude and disrespectful. Office woman is very difficult to track down and communicate with. I have also had my car returned with missing parts and been told I needed to replace them on my own dime. read more

I stripped a lug nut when changing my brake pads. After several failed attempts to remove the lug nut from the wheel I decided to Yelp mechanics in the area. B&J Garage was able to schedule the service on the same day. Frank recommend to drop off the vehicle, which I did. The service only took a few hours, and I was charged fairly. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area. read more

Frank the Manager is a great guy and very approachable. I was hesitant at first to changing mechanic shops but I read a ton of great reviews on Yelp and google. Frank listened to all my concerns and was honest up front on what he can do. I appreciated that. I also appreciate that he's very thorough and makes sides your car is taken care of. The mechanic shop itself is not the prettiest shop in the world when you first walk in, but for me as long as the service is exceptional. That's all it matters to me. Thanks again to Frank and his Team! read more

I took my 2010 Genesis here because I had a special request and unlike a few other mechanic shops I called, Frank seemed to think that they'd be able to help me. I'm going to be in a walking boot for about a year and needed hand controls installed on my car and they did a great job and didn't charge me a fortune like some of the handicapped automotive locations would have. In addition, I hadn't had any major maintenance done on my car in a bunch of years (I don't put many miles on it) and it seemed like Frank didn't try to recommend anything that I didn't think needed to be done, and the price he charged seemed very fair for what they did. They replaced all eight spark plugs and put on new brake pads and turned the rotors. It was ready to go the same day, even with all the work, and I was very happy with all of the services they provided. Should I need more maintenance on my car, I will definitely be taking it here. read more

Super service again, by Frank and staff. Quick diagnosis, in and out in less than a day. Explained everything clearly, constructive suggestions, and safety checks in other areas. Car running fantastic, thanks to B & J! read more

My mechanic was overbooked so I took my car here. They fix my car less than a day. They replaced the alternator and he topped off my oil for free. The staff was friendly and responsive. I left my mothers car there for air conditioner service so we will see how it goes. But so far I would for sure take my car back if I had another problem. read more

The bolt holding my air intake hose broke off and I needed it removed and replaced. I also needed my rear windshield wiper blade replaced (it was locked in place). Gave them a call as soon as they opened. The nice receptionist let me know I could bring the car in that day as they will squeeze me into their schedule. Once i got there, i could tell that they were super busy but left my car with them for a couple hours and I got notice my car was done and ready for pick up. I am so thankful to this business not only for their timely (and affordable) repair but also for their great customer service! I definitely recommend this auto repair shop! read more

I just wanted to share my experience with B&J Garage. First off Leo is very kind and extremely helpful. My car window had been stuck in the roll down position for 3 days and every shop I called said they couldn't help me bring it up because it was a "powered window" it would simply fall back down if they tried. I gave B&J a call and Leo looked for the part I needed but couldn't find one in stock at the moment but surely welcomed me to come by and said he'd help roll it up temporarily. Grateful grateful grateful for his heart. It took a little bit because my window seemed to be one of the harder ones because the make of my car but he sure did the job and I can't thank you enough, Leo! read more

Took my car in for a look over as the transmission was acting strange. Nothing was found but Frank did a free inspection and didn't charge me for the time. He was extremely nice, quick to get me in and out and I appreciated that he didn't charge me - I'll definitely go back again. read more

You will find your new mechanic if you stop by here !!!! Frank is so awesome ... having car issues before work , find this shop on Yelp and read the reviews and trusted the 5 stars hoping for the same experience. Let me tell you, any car issue going forward now I will be visiting these guys. As a female you are afraid you will be charged crazy amounts . Frank is honest and trustworthy. I was able to get my car fixed and it didn't hurt my pocket too much . Thank you frank and team !!! read more

I had a bad experience with another garage and needed help. I took my truck to B & J's and they were able to install a new motor . It wasn't cheap but they did the job and did it right. I now continue to take that same truck back to them for routine oil changes and I have to say that truck purrs like a kitten. If there is one thing the average person needs is a good mechanic and B & J's is the mechanic I trust. read more

Spent my morning calling around Riverside auto shops looking for someone who could help me fix my headlight. Someone at Prestige Auto recommended me to B&J garage. I called and Frank was able to fit me in same day and was soo helpful & nice to me! Fixed my headlight perfectly & with a smile. Highly recommend!! read more

This is by far the best mechanic shop that I have dealt with in a long time. There are a few that are up there with this shop but this one so far has been my go-to for everything. They take care of our fleet of vehicles in the best way. When dealerships "couldn't find an issue or replicate the issue", this shop immediately finds the problem and has it fixed in a timely manner at a competitive price. Our vehicles will continue to be serviced here until something drastic happens. I highly recommend them to anyone, whether you're a business or not. read more

Check engine light came on and naturally I freak out just a little bit. I pull over and turn to Yelp (but of course) for help. B&J garage comes up with an impeccable rating and I give them a call. Although they were busy Frank, the manger, gets on the phone and says, "bring it in and I will read it for you, to make sure it is not a safety issue and it's safe for you to keep driving it" (insert warm feelings and sunshine here) I quickly head over and Frank true to his form (as described on Yelp) takes care of my vehicular transport. Turned out to be a small emissions leak. He tested the gas cap and then explored under the hood until he came across the culprit. One of the hoses (I will not attempt to identify it, for fear of a catastrophic error) had come loose. He reconnected it and asked if I had been driving over hills or potholes (I plead the 5th) and said thats probably why it came undone. He took 10 minutes out of his busy day to make sure I, and later my 3 year old son, were safe. He fixed the small problem, so I could drive with confidence and ease That my fellow Yelpers is humanity at its best and it was a privilege to get to experience it. In that act of kindness he has secured my family's loyalty and respect. Thank you Frank. read more

First time here. Big takeaways: you will get HONEST info about your car. That is invaluable to me. Quick work, kind people. And fellow students: I'm told of you mention you are a student at the beginning they try to give a discount! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

It's a huge blessing to be able to trust the people working on your car. Frank and his team are people who have absolutely earned my trust. He and his guys were all as nice as can be. I came in with some idea of what was wrong and he gave me great advice on what to get fixed and what to wait on. They did all the work in a timely manor, and got me out of there at a fantastic price. B&J Garage will always be my first stop for auto repairs and maintenance. Can't thank them enough. Tips for your visit: 1. It was easiest for me to park on Eucalyptus and walk in. 2. It feels a little weird, but just wander on into the yard and flag someone down (it will most likely be Frank). They'll ask you what you need and get you all taken care of. 3. The office is in the back corner, if all else fails you can always go back there and find someone to help! read more

I am so glad I took a chance with this shop. I needed some adjustments to my car that they were able to take care of in about 30 min, and it was so affordable! I could just tell that he was genuine about helping out. I will definitely be back when I need some work and will recommend to any and everyone in the area. I came based off previous reviews and I'm so glad I did because my experience was even similar to them and that's how I know this is a quality business read more

I've been going to B&J Garage since 1980. Bill and Johnny were the owners at that time and through the years different managers have continued to provide honest and great work for their customers. Frank is the present manager and always answers our questions and concerns like we're his only customers. My husband and I won't and don't need to go anyplace else. read more

Called B & J this morning to see if they would do an oil change on my car, using my own oil and filter; as my vehicle takes a very specific filter and oil per warranty / recall concerns. I am told they do not do labor only oil changes, But they would be happy to order the parts that I need. (of Course so they can mark up the parts well beyond what you can walk into any store and buy it for) They charge $10.00 for a conventional oil change. $10 for oil, a filter, and the labor. But wouldn't just do the labor for $20. Saving themselves parts and making twice as much. Still the answer was no. Id say this is FAR from an honest shop...
