Premiere West regeared my 2007 FJ Cruiser with 5.29s and the truck feels brand new. On 35s the stock 4.10s were gutless. Now it pulls like it should, holds gear on grades, and sits at the right RPM on the freeway. Clean install, dialed setup, quiet diffs. What really sold me came after. My rear diff breather clogged and blew the seals. That wasn't on them, but they fixed it and gave me a break on the cost anyway. They stood by their work and took care of me. That's rare. Carlos Your response and narrative to my review is inaccurate. Let me clarify the facts for you. First, I went to your establishment for a re-gearing to 4:88 front and rear axles and an Eaton TruTrak to replace the OEM rear locker. After waiting at your shop for 8 hours, My vehicle was delivered to me with an error code "service 4wd". When I went back in and inquired about it, YOU'RE staff told me, "drive it for a while it will go away". That issue never resolved. I called PWG to schedule a fix appointment. At that appointment your tech put a solenoid to correct the "service 4wd" lamp and a requested rear diff cover. Why that solenoid wasn't done initially, I don't understand? I live in Palm Springs and for me to come to your shop because of your tech not performing installation correctly is a costly inconvenience to me! While getting an oil change at my regular mechanic, that's when he brought to my attention about your tech damaging my steering stabilizer, fluid actively leaking from rigs front drivers side axle and the transfer case. ALL areas your tech had to perform work on in order to do the re-gearing, and that were NOT leaking or damaged before your techs working on my vehicle. I tried to contact you on many occasions, to no avail. Finally, when I did talk to you about this, and said if it doesn't get fixed I will go to BAR for filing a claim, to which your response was, "go ahead"! Is this how a rightfully dissatisfied customer is treated at PWG? Currently I still have a rig that I can't even get into 4L. Those are the facts! Thanks. read more

I went 37" tires on my Jeep Wrangler JK and I'll be honest, at first I didn't feel I needed to re-gear my Jeep but after putting the 37" tires on, I felt my Jeep straining the transmission and it was difficult to get momentum on speed so I decided to re-gear to 4.88. Let me tell you, the difference is night and day, it has more torque and can speed up without exertion. It made a world of difference. When I first arrived all I see were jeeps and trucks and immediately laughed at myself because I pulled in to repair my Prius haha. The only thing that I had going for me was that it sounded like it was ready for the trails because it sounded like a prerunner due to the fact that someone had stolen my catalytic converter. So I walk in and I'm immediately greeted by Miguel and Carlos (who I found out was the owner) and I asked them "have you ever worked on a prerunner Prius" and they both started to laugh. After explaining to them both what had happened Carlos told me that they can definitely get it done. He was up front with me by saying at the moment all their lifts were in use and it would be a couple days before they were able to get to it, and to me that was fine. After a few days, Carlos called me letting me know that they had it on the lift, seen the damage, and had a better idea to what it would take to get everything replaced correctly. I truly appreciated the fact that he just didn't call me to give details of what was broken but offered video and pictures of what was damaged, gave me different part options, cost comparisons, and how long it would take. When I went to pick up my car Miguel went over all the paperwork, what was done, parts, and warranty that was offered. He took me out to my car and started it up and it sounded like a hybrid on battery mode and not a hybrid on Baja 500 mode. The car was returned clean and ready go. I left the shop knowing that if I needed anything from these guys wether it was for warranty or just future repairs I can go to these guys and know that the job will get done correctly, professionally, and proficiently. I had an appointment today at 0830am and was told over the phone that my car would be ready by 0230pm. The shop didn't touch it until 0200pm and I waited until about 0700pm to get my car back. The mechanics might have done a good job, which hopefully I will find out later, but the front desk left a bitter experience with this installation not starting on time and lasted more time than it should have. A discount to make up for the valuable time wasted would have been better than excuses and an apology. Poor customer expectations management (with an appointment) and maybe a good job...disappointed! I have a 2WD 2000 Toyota Tundra SR5 that I used for years in construction and now is my dedicated Baja/Camping truck. At first the suspension was shot so I figured I would pay a tad more and upgrade. I added * OME Front Springs (2883) * Spring Insulators * ARB Driver Side 1/4" Strut Spacer/ Shim Spacer * OME 90004 Front Shocks * OME 63091 Rear Shocks Right after I was able to install larger tires. It went from stock tires (245/70/16) to 265/75/16 Nitto Ridge Grappler's that have the slightest rub at full lock to left under power (non issue for me). Last, but probably most exciting for me, I decided to add the Eaton TrueTrac. The shop was very accommodating with scheduling. I drove in early and was driving off by lunch. I've done a couple trips now and all I can say is I wish I had done this day one... 20+ years and this truck is better than ever!!! read more

Dropped my Jeep off, they replaced all bearings and seals as well as the left axle shaft. It was ready for pick-up the next day. Well I don't even know where to start to be honest. I took my jeep in for regear and input to replace my leaking front axle or completely replace it. After talking to Miguel we decided to replace it in lieu of repairing. I asked him specifically if they have done axle swaps and he says yep no problem...Well here is when everything starts to go bad. They get my brand new spicer 44 in and waiting on rear chromoly's so I order a set of new shocks and drop them off while we have time. So after waiting a couple more weeks I'm excited to go pick her up after dropping $10K on all This work I notice damage on a brand new $6K spicer front axle. It's bad, like too long of a bolt was used but come to find out it was a long drill bit there's tech used to widen the hole in the track arm bracket so he could get the bolt through. Mind you another shop is fixing this and I get no apologies at all. Just a pissed of owner Carlos like I did something wrong yet it was there major fault. The other shop cuts off the old bracket, welds on anew bracket and welds up the damage on a $6K axle I paid for. Miguel all you had to do was say no it's not our niche and I would have gone somewhere else. I want to know how you would feel if you dropped $10K on work that was as bad as this? I cannot believe that an owner didn't man up and say we screwed up, nothing, nada, zilch! Here are some pics for your reading pleasure. Horrible experience with Miguel ! Wasted my time Clearly stated the tool came in Friday. Now being told the tool they needed arrived Monday. And the car hasn't been looked at. The whole car was here 13 days and all of a sudden they don't really work on Range Rovers. This is completely something Miguel didn't say over the phone when I first spoke to him. After the 13th day I decided to go there to see what they were actually doing with the car. I show up to see my car outside, unlocked just sitting there. Miguel tells me that they are busy due to hoists and other jobs that backed them up, and I can hang out until around 3pm to see if it can be repaired or not. Going by what he said i waited around, and the car has not moved again. He didn't know what to say and can barely look me in the eye. Wasted my time twice driving 1 hour each way (4 hours of just driving with a secondary car), and 2 tows getting to and from. Miguel has given this place a trash reputation as liars, and I really hope they learn their lesson by telling people the truth. I never asked for a deal, never was rude. I have $150,000 car and can afford the repairs. I truly hope they either tell people the truth on taking a job on or just go out of business. Update : Posted this review as I am waiting to tow the vehicle away. Owner Carlos coming out to tell me "you could have at least waited to post your f***ing review" Well what did you expect? That's what reviews are for. Whether it's good or bad, you have to take them as they come. Put yourself in your customers shoes and how would you feel if this happened to you or your family. If your considering a gearing change do yourself a a huge favor and call Miguel at Premier West Gears. I called and had a lot of questions and Miguel took the time to answer everything I asked. He never seemed bothered or rushed which is nice nowadays plus, after the first time we spoke a few days later I had a few more questions and he answered those with patience as well. Had 5.29's put in my Tacoma with a new lift and 33's. When I mentioned I wanted 4.88's Miguel recommended the 5.29s instead and I'am COMPLETLY satisfied!! NO MORE gear hunting and a little better gas mileage as well. Had the transfer case fluid changed at the same time for a little extra cost but they even rotated my tires for no charge. read more

I picked this shop based on their Yelp review. I dropped off a Chevy 10 bolt 8.2 rear end to be completely rebuilt. Initially told 7-10 days. Communication was poor, called several times after the 10 days and was told I would receive a call back that never came. After a month I called and was told it was ready. I arrived and they delivered me the rear tire end without any axles. Staff searched the shop and I was told they threw the axles away and the warehouse did not have any locally. I cut ties and bought my own axles. Seems like they have too much work and lack quality control. read more

Carlos, Miguel and the boys at Premier West took care of my 2020 ZR2 Bison. Previous owner had another shop regear it to 4.10s and by the time I bought the truck, the pinion bearings were shot and the ring gears were already showing some pitting on the face of the teeth. They were able to reset preload and pinion depth with a new Yukon bearing and crush sleeve kit before the gears completely ate themselves. They also pointed out that the previous shop bent the pins on the rear locker plug, then went ahead and fixed it no charge. So, now I've got a quiet truck with working lockers! These guys are pros and reasonably priced. These dudes ripped into both diffs and had me back on the road same day. I cant recommend these guys enough. I'll be heading back there when I'm ready for 4.56s. Thanks again guys! read more
