First time using Performance. Acura MDX. Pricing was the same as the dealer with their multiple discount "specials" (coupons), that I always have to ask for. No hassle and they saved me time and gas! They are short handed (who isn't) so I had to schedule out a ways. Hopefully that won't be the case next time. But that's what happens when you slap a 5star rating on a business. My car overheated on the 91 and I pulled over on magnolia to find help. Performance Auto Care was the nearest shop from where my car broke down and Russell immediately took a look of what's going on. He's got such a nice and wholesome personality that he made sure everything he's explaining to me makes sense to me. He suggested me to get a new car instead of spending so much money on fixing a broken cooling system and oil leakage. I actually got my car fixed at Jerry's Auto Repair next door. However, I wanted to leave this review in appreciation for Russel's integrity. I had to drop my car off at Jerry's in the morning but Jerry was running late. I was taking a Lyft to work and my driver was waiting in the parking lot. In desperation, I ran into Performance Auto Care and asked the man at the front desk (Russel) if he could take a look at my car and have it fixed by tomorrow. Respectfully declining, he insisted I continue my repair with Jerry's- speaking highly of their services. He kindly offered to take my contact info and give my key to Jerry's when the shop opened so I could leave for work. By midday, I got a call from Jerry's saying my car was fixed. Giving an eager and potential customer's keys to your business competitor speaks volumes of one's character. My goodness! There are honest auto mechanics still in this world. Hubby had to bring in our truck because it wouldn't pass smog. He took it to another location and the estimate he received was so ridiculous , especially when it starts off ... it could possibly be but the $$$ on the estimate is for the exact same amount. No adjustments. ..... Then give me everything listed instead of the couple hoses. SCHMUCK! Thank goodness my hubby decides to come here. Russ was very honest in his opinion. Leave it for a few days and I'll call you with my findings. Really? A mechanic is going to look & take the time to figure out the issues before you hand me a huge as* estimate?! Two days later & Russ , calls to say hoses and a few other minor issues all for less than falf of SHMUCKS! picked it up. Running great and passed smog. Everyone walked away happy & content. I had been going to performance foot several years when our was owned by ron. I won't going because I had stored in@ Meineke and thought I got a good deal. Later I called performance, after Ron retired and Russ bought it to ask what his charges would have been. Be guesstimated about $$250 less. I'm back. Today took cast in to have an engine mount replaced. While that I asked him to check the other 2. They were bad. The did all three for labor price of 1 . a few weeks ado we took a friends car in, which had 190,000+miles. And he got it running, but good her it was definitely time to get rid of it. I was surprised to find a mechanic that did what he said for his quoted price. When I came to pick up my car he showed me the parts replaced and explained everything in detail. They also missed a sensor in the original check up so he replaced it for free without even seeing if I'd pay. I will go back for future work. read more

I would NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! take my car here to get work DONE... I had head gasket done WORK... I was told by Ron the owner, " If you have any problems bring it back". A few weeks later my check engine light came on so I took my car back to Ron and he said I needed an oil change. I have had my Honda civic for 6 years. I religiously get an oil change every 3,000 miles. If for some reason I go over.. My oil light comes on NOT CHECK engine light. Ron accused me of questioning his integrity and I was asking questions for clarity. He got extremely frustrated then hung up in my face. I called him back to explain how his behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful. I am simply trying to gain understanding. He is the professional and I am the client seeking his expertise.
