My Jeep wasn't ready to be tested, catalytic converter (OBD) wasn't up to working temperature but he tested it anyway and it failed of course. Told me I should sell my Jeep because 4 cylinder Jeeps are too much trouble to smog or go back to the original sized tires, blah blah blah. We've been bringing our cars here for years and only go somewhere else if the wait is too long here. The owner has a dry sense of humor and it's always interesting to hear his latest take on life in the Inland Empire. I usually drop off the car and walk around the shopping mall for 20 minutes. It's frustrating that California requires smog checks on hybrid vehicles, and the owner said that even electric vehicles will require inspections in the future. Nice job security for him! read more

My car never has a problem passing smog. This time around there still wasn't an issue. Granted, it's $60 now just for a smog; welcome to California. Major issue here is the guy running the shop. He's extremely rude and has a nasty attitude about the homeless. He's convinced that ALL homeless are so because they're "just lazy and don't wanna work". Seriously?! I know several folks out there with actual mental conditions and drug addiction problems that have ruined their lives. I took my car in for a smog and end up hearing a wanna be elitist trying to explain that the homeless are so by choice. Wow. The smog was quick and easy, the price was right, and the owner/tech was actually friendly. You don't get that very often. They are also Star Certified for those of us that are required to get a Star Certified smog from our fine state. read more

Steve Thieu has been running his smog-test business at the Riverside Plaza address for years, sharing the building with a convenience-store with gas-station. The latter business has turned over to different ownership once or twice in that time. And Steve has had to replace his expensive testing equipment as mandated by the state at least once to my memory -- I remember he mentioned it. Granted, facilities are a bit cramped with no customer lounge for those hot summer Riverside days. But Steve knows his business, and he knows automobiles. Should I say he gave me good advice as to which later make and model to replace my old SUV? Charges are reasonable; this is an honest and compliant smog-test facility. Steve prefers cash to credit card, but he'll accept the latter. read more

Small place, there is not even a waiting area. Gave the guy the paperwork, he looked at my old piece of sh!t car and said $65 to do a smog check. He said because my car is old so it costs more. Hmm. I called the other place and they said it doesn't matter what year the car is and they charged 45. Not gonna do business here read more

I highly recommend this place for smog testing. Star certified and he smogs everything. I had an 88' Camry that 5 others wouldn't try. He knew what he was doing and did his job. The car passed. This place is in the back of an arco gas station. I Came here to get my car a smog test and this was by far one of the best customer service. I've been to some and had my car take more than an hour to finish. However in this specific one I was in and out in no time. Steve is the guy and very funny!
