We were very happy to hear they had high chairs and booster seats available. Place was not busy at that hour of the day, and we were glad to be seated near the back of the restaurant just in case our kid got fussy. It was nice and hipster and quiet and I love seeing the different flavors of foods on the menu. Hubby chose the Philly Cheesesteak poutine and he said it was really good. Originally I wanted to choose the Beefless Ginger Bowl, but thankfully the waiter warned me it may be a little on the spicy side. I'm glad he spoke up and I went with the Big Yum bowl instead. Definitely didn't disappoint! Had a fair helping of corn, edmame, sweet potatoes, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage and rice. I really appreciated the sauce was not overpowering and not unassuming. The perfect compliment in the perfect amount to just give your taste buds a little tickle. My kid tried some and he really liked it too, so it's always a bonus! If you can find street parking close by, definitely worth a visit!

Many Youtubers, vegan Instagrammers, or Reddit Posts recommended to try MeeT, so of course we had to see what the hype was about. There was plenty of seating inside and outside, but we chose to eat outside. One of the staff members said the service might not be fast since we're sitting outside, but our waitress, Dani, was so attentive and never forgot us! She went above and beyond by taking the time to check on us frequently, having long chats, and giving us the 101 around town. From giving us book recs to local restaurants and attractions around the city, Dani was a pool of knowledge and such a pleasure to talk to. She also knows Main Street like the back of her hand! Dani recommended the following dishes: Okonomiyaki - it was a bit salty for me, but still delicious. The pickled ginger really topped this dish off! It was a great appetizer before our actual meal came. Gruvi peruvi - there was an emphasis on olives, which is unusual for me but unique for this salad! I don't think I've ever had olives in a salad before, so it was interesting how it was the highlight of the dish. Elderflower spritz - light and not too sweet. The lemon really balances out the floral tones. I'm glad there wasn't too much carbonation in the drink. Mid-way through our meal, Dani came out to check up on us, but also surprised us saying her manager offered us dessert, on-the-house. Such a wonderful surprise! The restaurant did live up to the hype, and the staff were nothing but spectacular! Definitely will come back next time I'm in Vancouver.

The space was clean and our food arrived fairly quickly. We ordered the fried chicken and beef brisket soup curry. The spices weren't as strong and fragrant as the one we had in Sapporo which is what made it so memorable for me the first time. It was also a bit salty for my liking. But the fried chicken piece was about double the size than the one in Sapporo! Perfectly juicy and the crispiness is a nice contrast to the soup and soft vegetables. Beef brisket was soft and tender but would pick the fried chicken over the brisket. The rice was a bit lackluster compared to the more fragrant one in Sapporo. It's hard to compete with soup curry from the motherland, but this is still worth trying if you're looking for something different from the usual ramen or sushi.

I guess that's the trendy thing. They give you rice refills. The soup - I ordered the kakuni pork belly curry soup. The Kakuni is really really well done. Very tender and soft, absolutely wonderful. I also liked all of the other veggies - broccoli tomatoes corn etc. the soup is on the peppery side but has a great soft flavour to it. I also added eggplant which had great texture. The rice is also very unique. It is more like whole grained rice and feels healthy. Its texture contrasts with the soup and goes well with it I think. Don't expect traditional curry but if you're open to something new this is an enjoyable meal.

The entrance is down a level from the Main Street. It's a comfortable place with good decor and friendly staff. The hostess was very nice and helpful with great suggestions. So glad we tried the Aussie poutine because it was great! Seasoned fries, peppery gravy and melted cheese; what's not to like. The dud burger was good, as were the onions rings. I wanted to try the Roo burger because when do you get the chance to try kangaroo? It was ok but not really my taste. The beers on draft are a good mix with lots of mixed drinks to choose from as well. I'm glad we tried this place and would definitely try it again if I'm ever in town. I found out very quickly that the venue had been charging patrons for my tickets, which was not agreed on, so who knows how many people they never paid me for who were forced to pay them for my show rather than the performers getting the profits. At the end of the night they refuse to pay me the agreed-upon compensation for running the show and drawing in a crowd, gaslit me, and were incredibly hostile and rude. They said I should have gotten in 200 people with no stage view and given them the ticket sales. I literally had more than double the people I've had at other shows where I was paid more compensation and the owners were incredibly happy. The manager lied that the owner had left when he was right there. The owner eventually agreed to pay us half what was promised, and then the manager and his wife literally gave us a third of what we were owed. Went back to the owner at the back, when they said that he had left again and told us to gtfo, and again the owner told them to pay us, and then they cheated me out of an extra $20 and told us they didn't care about our patron's business. Not a single person at this bar is Australian, the nachos and poutine I tried sucked and were gross. They charged my performers for food and drinks when they agreed they'd cover it. I was told by other people that they charged them for extra drinks. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a venue or in a decade of running shows. And the manager threatened to cancel me from other venues for expect pay agreed on, as I have at all shows. If you want to go to an authentic Australian place, the only thing these Persians have in common is the way they treat people is criminal.

The lamb shoulder was equally good, with the meat absorbing the sauce perfectly. Both types of noodles we tried were springy with the perfect chew, providing a satisfying texture that complemented the proteins well. The braised egg was flavorful, with a rich, savoury taste that added an extra layer of indulgence. For our sides, we opted for black fungus, bean sprouts, celery and carrots, and corn. Each vegetable was fresh, adding a balance of crunch and subtle sweetness that elevated the overall dish. The decor within is super clustery and messy looking, however for a old school diner, I guess that makes sense? - place was pretty clean for the most part. - very packed and quite noisy - The service team was super friendly, and checked on you frequently. Tried the BC Wild Sockeye Salmon Burger - with a side of fries - nothing special with the fries, they did there part. The Salmon however, was very bland - parts were soft, where most of it was just a dry blob. - lettuce did not taste fresh and bits was changing color.

For those who want a great spot for brunch in trendy money spot Kits, it's one of the places to go. For those who are in the know, they seem to go somewhere else. Look, the place has nostalgia written all over it - and all the decor too. So many trinkets and things from the past laden all over the walls. AND it attracts TOURISTS. As I have been calling Vancouver my 2nd home - literally, and it's been over 2 years of commuting from Toronto to Vancity, I really should know better. Most things in West 4th is for the temporary denizens of YVR - yes.. that mean tourists. First of all, the service - the best damn thing here!!! Lovely lovely people that do their best to ensure you get a feel good vibe while eating mediocre food. Seriously... 20+ bucks for some bennies per person. $60 for a couple of dishes, and a couple cups of coffee. These are eggs bennies... not the feel good bennies if you know what I mean. I don't mind paying for good food, but meh food is hard to swallow! I know BC stands for Bring Cash and being on West 4th in Kits is expensive for businesses but you have to deliver some value to diners. OK - a Greek Benny should have some feta, some veggie things, perhaps some tzatziki or some kind of lamb or other meats. It's not quite what we expected. I had their special and don't ask me if I remember what it was. I can tell you that it had eggs on top of some kind of meat on top of some kind of bread. Lots of potatoes on the side and it was HEAVY. Needed hot sauce or something with spice or acid to cut the layers of fat throughout the dish. I'm going to stop here now. No more needs to keep punching at this. Most of the great reviews are by tourists, first time in vancouver peeps, and those who are looking for HUGE portions. Huge does not equal good food - I should have read the reviews better, but this wasn't my choice to go. It was the recommendation of a lifelong Vancouverite - YEAH... who has never been here before! LOL! Anyways, I hope you find this review funny, tragic, but mostly informative! 2.5 Stars as I am not going to return here but didn't want to ruin it for the fantastic staff... AND for those seeking HUGE over good. May the tourist never stop coming to KITS.

I wanted to order the 3-bowl set for lunch, but the selection for that day was kinda mid, so I opted for the bluefin feast bowl instead. I was NOT disappointed at all. The fish was so fresh and I feel like it was reasonably priced for all the fish that we got. When they said generous serving of tuna tartare, they were not lying. There was so much!!!!! Also really enjoyed all the different cuts of tuna; but my favourite was chu-toro for sure. Perfect balance between melt-in-your-mouth and having a bit of bite. It is a bit expensive, but they load up on the fish so I feel like it's worth the splurge meal once in awhile especially if you're missing Japan!
