This place was great! I came down for the Murphys Irish Day festival and had a blast. Food and drinks are really good, the owners were also really accommodating and funny, but none of the staff wear masks even though they were constantly interacting with customers at a close distance who also were not wearing masks. Seemed a little weird because every other food and drink place I could see on the same street had every staff member wearing masks. Just seems like common courtesy for customers. If you are with anybody who is high-risk I do not recommend coming here. I'm excited to come back to this place though when the pandemic is over. read more

Amateur way to run a business. Ordered a chicken pesto panini and got a turkey bacon tomato panini, after waiting too long. It was a cold day and the small building had two doors open in the front we and a breeze from the back and 4 ceiling fans covering the ceiling. I asked if the one over me ( no place to get away from a fan) could be turned off and the woman said no because she'd have to get up on a ladder to do that. The bread used on the panini is too thick. After a lovely private wine tasting we decided we needed a little something to nosh before continuing our day in Murphys. Pop The Bubbly was recommended to us as a great place to grab a light meal. We made our way and stepped inside. We were immediately greeted and shown to a quaint outdoor dining area where we took our seats. Our server was in training and assisted by a second server. Both ladies were very friendly and helpful in their suggestions. After perusing the menu I selected the loaded quesadilla and my husband selected the chicken sandwich. I also chose a glass of bubbly rose, just because. Our food and drink were served after a short wait and were quite tasty! All in all Pop The Bubbly was a very good place to grab a quick bite before continuing our outing in Murphys. This was our 4th visit to Pop The Bubbly really enjoyed it . I wasn't a fan of Champagne but now I am. First the Husband and Wife that own this place are fantastic people. They really care about what you think and to make sure you enjoy your experience when visiting them. This Saturday we stop by to buy a couple of bottles from them. Brook took care of us. She was so knowledgeable about the drinks and champagne. We stayed and had a couple of there Champagne cocktails very good. We are fans and will be back and hope Brook is there to take care of us!!! This was our first time visiting Murphys. We had a wonderful day at many of the tasting rooms and pop the bubbly was one on my list to visit. We were excited and impressed by the reviews. I've been a little hesitant to post because it seems like any negative reviews are met with an argument instead of inciting change. That said, today was the driving force behind the review. To start with, I have frequented PTB multiple times, starting with their initial spot on mid-Main street. Lately, my visits have gotten more and more disappointing. The menu has changed...no more avocado toast or panini, just an overpriced pretzel and baked Brie. Today, we were told certain drinks were not an option as they had no cucumber, mint or lavender. I can't speak to the latter, but the market 3 blocks away does have cucumber and mint. We then opted for a glass of champagne (which was flat) and the lemon drops (super syrupy). We sat in the outside area (very nice) but we opened a tab, and no one ever walked out to check on us or ask if we wanted another round. I appreciate that during busier days, this isn't always feasible but today was not and a little customer service goes a LONG way. Also of note, my 25 yo daughter was passed over when asking for drink orders and when she interjected what she wanted, she was told "I need to see your ID". In my experience, most people take an order and then politely ask for an ID if there is a concern for serving minors. Needless to say, we didn't stay for a second round. I'm not boycotting the establishment nor am I looking to bash the place/owners and hope that this review will encourage some improvements. read more

This is a cute new stop in Murphys. Pop the Bubbly had a nice assortment of wines and has a very cute set up. You can sit at the bar or at one of their high top tables. The owner also makes her own candles that are for sale (and smell great). It was a little later in the day when we popped in here (see what I did there?) and we grabbed a couple of glasses of bubbles and were able to snag a lovely cheese and charcuterie board. We visited Murphys for the first time and decided to stop into Pop The Bubbly. There were a couple of customers, but they weren't really that busy. We ordered the top flight and we're prepared to buy a nice bottle or 2; however, the service was bad. One waitress was good, but I don't think she was assigned to us, the one that was "ours" was not at all interested. A guy came in for a beer and we had to listen to (maybe the owner?) complaining to him about the price of limes. We were ignored and had to actually ask for our check to leave. We left without buying a bottle of anything and went somewhere else. Overall, a disappointing experience. read more

It was a full house. We were a party of 12. There was one table open that could only accommodate 2. So some of us stood and sat around that one while others dispersed around the bar. There was a larger party that was finishing up and I kindly asked a gentleman that had stood up if we could come in behind them, to which he replied of course. As myself and my party started to sit the owner walked over and told me I could not sit there and needed to get up. In those exact words. I asked her why that was (in a calm tone) she explained that the party of 22 that came in after us had a reservation and that was their table. So now let me give you a quick run down. As the party of 22 came in, I was sitting right next to them. The owner rushed over offered them stools from the back and asked how many were in their party and that she would figure it out and accommodate them. She said "don't worry we will figure something out for all of you." I asked If they had more chairs and she quickly and promptly replied with a simple no. So as you see they came after us and were also a walk in. I stood up walked to the bar to tell my party for us to just go on to the next place because the service was bad and the owner obviously did not want to accommodate us. She was very aggressive, she followed me because she overheard me tell my husband that she lied to me about the other party having a reservation, so that that was our sign to just go. She clearly was expressing bias towards us and that is when the owner got very unprofessional and honestly just plain petty. She followed me and said very loudly I am not lying I heard what you said to him and then shouted in her own establishment that I was being aggressive. I was shocked and embarrassed. I still calmy spoke to her in a low voice and said how am I being aggressive I am not even talking with you. I told her I came to get the rest of my party so we can leave, and again in a shouting voice said "it looks like you are going to be a problem, I am going to have to dismiss your group." I said it again we are leaving please don't do that. There is no need to shout, I get it. The message is very clear we are leaving. She responded with I don't like your aggression. So that was our experience. i am a professional as well as the rest of my party. We consisted of educators, social workers and HR managers. Never would we ever act in an inappropriate way. But, as i said before there was bias and the other party was obviously more the owners vision of what she would like to see in her establishment. It is sad because we wantes to have fun and try a new place. The whole expirience was embarrasing and I do not want to deter others from visiting, my hope is that the owner kearns from this expirience and thinks of how she could have handled it differently and reflects on how her actions and words that night put her in a bad position. As we left i overheard other patrons saying that was not right, she disnt have to do thata. One person reached out and said they felt bad for us and that she was the aggressor. We headed to our dinner at Grounds, where the service is always great! ​I am sure she will respond and give her versions the one where she felt threatened by a minority. read more

My sister was interested in trying a bubbly flight and so we stopped in here before calling it a day on tastings. When we entered, we were told we could sit at one of the open tables or go outside to the patio. Once we got out on the patio, we sat down and were pretty quickly brought menus by the waitress who was on her first day. We were disappointed to find out that we would not be able to order tasting flights outside and would have appreciated knowing this before making our decision to sit outside. Ah well, we decided to just order a glass each, while my mother ordered a beer. Because it was our waitress's first day, she really couldn't give us much information about what was popular or which options were drier over sweet. I ended up going with one she had tried earlier that she had enjoyed but unfortunately we seem to have different tastes and I was not nearly as interested in it as I would have hoped. The male owner was also out on the patio constantly checking on patrons and he was a lovely counterpart to the female owner's abruptness inside. They had misters outside that weren't running too well but honestly, it was so hot while we were there that it probably wouldn't have made too much of a difference. Would I visit again? This is a very sad day. I've been living in Murphys for 2 years. I've enjoyed sipping at Pop The Bubbly. Unfortunately today, my elderly mother and friends went in too sip and make a purchase. We are brown people, Puerto Rican. As my elderly mother and friends walked in, a customer blurted out, "here comes the animals." How devastating, and worst... I've already spent hundreds of dollars there. This customer was sitting at the counter right in front of the owner. He said nothing. Very sad. I guess if your white, everyone is welcomed to enjoy. I had a terrible experience at this place. First off, they have little bowls of mixed nuts, sitting out around the bar, open, half eaten, with signs that say "mixed nuts $4.00." If you are going to leave nuts out on the bar, uncovered, people are going to assume they are complimentary, regardless of the stupid price sign. Are you too cheap to provide free mixed nuts to your customers? I, with my wine induced judgement, mistakenly took a few nuts from the half eaten bowl. The woman pouring, whom I believe to the the owner, instead of politely correcting me, letting me know they're not complimentary, hastily told me I need to buy them now. As ridiculous as it was I said that was fine, as my friends and myself finished the $4.00 bowl of nuts together. During our last pour, I accidentally tipped my glass over and splashed a small amount on the woman. I embarrassingly apologized several times to her. Instead of consoling her customer and reassuring them that it was an accident, she replies "first you stick your hands in the nuts, then you spill champagne all over me." She also said "you're lucky you didn't break the glass because they're expensive." First of all I spilled the tiniest amount of wine & it barely got on her so she was being extremely dramatic, but the real issue is who speaks to their guests that way? I could not wait to get out of there, me and my friends were all very uncomfortable from the moment we walked in.
