Whenever we're in Sonora, eating at The Armory is a definite must! This place is huge. There is a bar area to the left when you come through the entrance. The bar is impressive and a great way to be greeted. There is seating available if you want to grab a bite to eat while you indulge in a handcrafted cocktail. The entrance leads to an amazing outdoor area with a courtyard, lots of seating and more bar areas. There is an upstairs area that has views of Sonora, but also overlooks the outdoor area which is great for people watching. The Armory is family and dog friendly and it was great to see families and their fur babies enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. The menu has great appetizers to share, salads and bowls, tacos, sandwiches, and satisfying pastas + a delicious short rib plate. The drink menu is extensive - they have an impressive variety of barrel-aged bourbons, Irish whiskeys, scotch, rye, tequila, and mezcal and quite the selection of beers on tap, in bottles, and in cans. The wine list will have something for everyone. And the cocktails all looked amazing! We had the smoked pork nachos, ahi poke bowl, and the Rodeo Burger. Everything was tasty and came out quickly. Wonderful place! Kicked off with a strawberry rhubarb bourbon cocktail, shared a Bavarian pretzel with tasty cheese dip with a kick and a tangy mustard dip. Awesome little spot to hang to hang out w and get some sun. Came here w/ some buddies and grab lunch. The outside patio is awesome. Lots of space, and there is also an upstairs outside seating area as well. To order food you grab a menu, order at the counter, and you find your seat. Food comes out quickly (although it appeared the forgot 1 of our friend's orders, which was resolved quickly). The food is OK. I got Fish Tacos and Butternut squash tacos. I feel that they could have been a bit more "fancy" But overall the taste was good, and this is a brewery that has food, vs a restaurant. The staff is friendly, service quick, and just a cool place to hang out. I also say they have live music and line dancing on certain nights. Came here for dinner with my family. The ambiance is welcoming and there are multiple seating options. We chose to sit where they had table service. Someone immediately showed up to help us with menus and water as soon as we got the table. Ordered a couple of drinks and food. It came out fairly quickly. The food: 1. Fish tacos were amazing. It comes with waffle fries or nachos. We ordered one of each. The tacos were nice and crunchy. The sauce was very flavorful. 2. Roasted butternut squash tacos were also very good. 3. Mac and cheese - Cant go wrong with this for the kids. Drinks: 1. Maple bacon old fashioned - This is a bacon infused old fashioned which comes with a torched bacon. It was amazing. 2. I forgot the name but this drink but it had kiwi in it. Was really good as well. Overall all of us liked our food and the service was really good. Will come back here. read more

This place was a 10 out of five. My husband myself and Ted stopped on our way from Yosemite to home. I wasn't expecting it to be as great as it was. Atmosphere was gorgeous. The service was excellent. Our bartender was wonderful. I wish I would've gotten her name. Even the other customers were very friendly and chatty. I was starving since we had just got done with a long hike. The food was excellent and I regret that this place is so far away from where I live. I would definitely drive back for two hours just to try the food again. I had the battered fish tacos, and my husband had the nachos. Both were excellent. The fish tacos were probably the best batter fish tacos I've ever had. The nachos had so much meat on them. It was crazy. They had such a great selection of drinks as well. They even had my favorite beer on top. If you're anywhere in the area, please stop here and enjoy the atmosphere food and service. Parking was easy as there was a parking lot in the back. What a gem! Stopped by The Armory on a whim and was so pleasantly surprised. First off -- the food was fantastic. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen knows what they're doing. The ambience was super chill and perfect for a relaxed meal. What made it even better? They have a dog menu! As a dog owner, this was such a fun and thoughtful touch. My dog left just as happy (and full) as I did. The service was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. I have meant to come by here many times, and finally made it. We stopped in on our way back from Indigeny - what a great find!! A large open area is downstairs, with tvs and a bar, water feature, and various tables and seating areas with fire pits. Inside is a really cool bar where you walk through a barrel to get in, as well as a large private room - big enough for parties or receptions (with its own private bar). There is also a large area to eat upstairs outside. To order food, you go up to the counter and order - they like to keep your tab open unless you are paying with cash. The middle-aged lady at the register was a little less than polite to the person in front of me, and she didn't seem happy with the fact that I didn't want to keep my tab open. But other than that, everything - and everyone else - was great! Enjoyed the food, the servers, the atmosphere. Pulled pork was amazing and the butternut squash tacos were pretty good. The Armory is a standout venue in the area. I was glad for the opportunity to finally visit this spot - thanks to an organized group gathering here a number of weeks ago. The Armory is a beer garden, restaurant, cocktail bar, event venue and community gathering space all in one. The downstairs outside area is where we hung out during our time here. You order at the bar and then they will bring your food to you. The upstairs and the Barrel Room (which I have yet to view) are both full service. The ambiance in their downstairs area is low key. I appreciated that while there were a number of different groups assembled throughout our visit, the acoustics and layout of the space allowed for everyone to convene comfortably. We were able to easily hear and have conversations throughout the evening. I was particularly impressed by the construction of this spot. It's evident in every aspect of this venue - that a lot of love and integrity went into the building process. Not only is the layout well thought out - and made to accommodate a variety of different spaces and vibes - but it was crafted beautifully using quality materials and through local contractors. Even the bathrooms are spacious and well designed. The Armory often hosts live music and it's a fantastic space for it. While we were there - a wonderful band played covers throughout the evening. The acoustics were great - and it was lovely being able to enjoy the fresh air, while bouncing to the fun beats. There was plenty of room to dance as well. In addition to live music - The Armory hosts a variety of different events. On the first and third Saturdays of every month they host line dancing, they host live music every Thursday, trivia every Wednesday. and Taco Tuesdays - every Tuesday. I have heard solid things about their taco nights. The taco nights include a variety of different taco offerings - ranging from roasted butternut squash tacos to short rib tacos. My husband had the short rib tacos while we were here - and he was thoroughly impressed with them. With fall in full swing, and with the weather getting colder - The Armory - even with it's outdoor/open layout is still a solid place to enjoy a night out with friends or loved ones. They have fire pits and pellet stoves to keep you warm, all while you enjoy the welcoming ambiance and tasty menu of a true community gem. Trust. read more

This place was amazing! The service was top notch, everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful and made our time there feel like we were regulars. The whole building is SOOOO cool and a great place to hang out no matter where you are seated. Definitely on my list for a place on summer days! The menu is elevated bar food and everything was pretty tasty. We also had the soup and it came out lukewarm but might have been because of the compostable container it was served on. Otherwise the sandwich we had was delish and the pretzel was salty and warm and huge. We ordered a mocktail and beer with Baja fish tacos and the shrimp plate. There was also a dog menu so we got our dog ground steak. Drinks and food were fine. Really appreciated the dog menu though, nice touch! There is upstairs patio which is full service and downstairs patio which is bar service (you order at the bar). Only the downstairs patio is dog friendly. There's also a parking lot behind the restaurant with plenty of parking. read more

Came here for some drinks and appetizers and everything was delicious. The Pork nachos were so good we had to order more chips cause there was so much pork and cheese toppings however the chips took forever to come out and the toppings were cold by then. The pretzel was warm and delicious crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside and the cheese and mustard were a perfect accompaniment. They have a great variety of beers on tap and a great cocktail variety. It was a beautiful night to enjoy sitting outside and I love that they are dog friendly. read more

We did a trip up to Sonora for Valentine's Day because of a cooking class at Yankee Hill winery and The Armory was down the street from our hotel in Sonora. We didn't have food at the Armory and just enjoyed a few beers with friends; however, the food did look great and the beers they had on tap were pretty awesome, they even had Pliney The Elder which is one of my favorites. The service was great and the place was really cool inside with a very cool piece of wall art and an upper level that provided some cool views. Wow! Very good food and spirits. The restaurant is beautifully designed. The interior bar has a barrel style molding to enter to a U shaped bar. The dining area is open and the patio is awesome with a barrel style molding. The second floor dining area and garage doors that open to expand the areas was a cool.
