I've been wanting to try this spot for a while. First tip: pay attention to where the entrance is -- otherwise you might accidentally walk into a guitar lesson like I did. It was pretty quiet during lunch, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the salad and it was massive -- easily big enough for two people. The only downside was the beer selection. They were out of quite a few options. Luckily they still had the one I wanted, but another customer gave up the search and settled for a soda. Food and service were excellent overall. Just don't come expecting a fully stocked beer list. read more

2.5 stars rounded up. I've never thought to stop in Copperopolis on my way to or from Yosemite, but there's a first time for everything I guess. Popped in after a Yosemite-in-a-day mission for dinner, and it was strange. The shopping center felt like it was some strange faux Disneyland town. Very little things were open, and there's also a hotel? This restaurant and the pizza place seemed to be the most bustling. The restaurant has an enormous door that was easy to open from the outside, a little more difficult to open from the inside. Anyway, enough about the ambiance. We had bikes with us, so they accommodated us outside. Menu was pretty basic: appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pastas, and drinks. Everything looked and sounded delicious to our famished crew, but I think they're banking on starvation. All the food was just okay, mediocre. Nothing was bad, but nothing was amazing either. I got the brisket salad. Brisket ($18) was kinda cold and gummy. The cornbread ($6) was a little tasteless. The honey citrus butter with the cornbread had so much potential but was also a little flavorless. A friend ordered pickle chips and that was probably the tastiest thing we had. Our server rang us all up individually which was great for a group. After tax and tip, it was $30, which hurt for such an unsatisfying meal. read more

Jalapeños poppers: 10/10 best thing in their menu. Bbq burger: 2/10 The bbq sauce was good but the chicken was really dry. Not a huge fan. Onion rings: 6/10 Bbq plate ribs and sausage: 8/10. There's better bbq places than this place. The side of coleslaw: bland could be better 5/10 at least it was cold and not hot Mash potatoes: 5/10. Not the best mash but sadly on the drier side. The Long Island iced tea: I had 2 which was $36 for both, I don't know if that's a reasonable price, but the good thing that it was good, more on the sour side. Draft beer: i do not recall which one it was, but I'm not a beer drinker. I cannot give an honest review for it. The service was decent, checked on us 2 times after getting our food. Slow service, had to ask twice for condiments then got empty ketchup, had to ask twice for fly diverter, no attention for 15 minutes, and had to ask for check. Another family ordered online, and they admitted that the order frequently doesn't go through. Family next to me had to wait 15 minutes to get their order taken. It was a slow day. Stopped here for lunch on our way home from Angels Camp. I ordered the raspberry chicken salad, but was brought the Southwest salad by mistake, so I had to wait while my companions started on their meals (no big deal). The waitress was very nice and apologetic and came back with the correct salad the second time, but this time the blue cheese was missing from the salad, so I had to wait again while she got the cheese; it wouldn't have been so bad, but the blue cheese is what pulled the salad together with the walnuts and raspberry vinaigrette! It definitely wasn't the waitress's fault, but she took it off our bill, which I thought was really gracious. The salad was good when they finally got it together! My two dining companions enjoyed their meals and the waitress was definitely welcoming and nice, so I'd go back if I was in the area again. read more

I had an ice cold stout in frosted glass. That hit the spot on a warm day. I had the brisket burger. I was wondering how much of a difference that is from a regular burger. It seemed not really much different although did seem denser. Left me wondering was I served something different? It came with onion rings that could have been hotter. First-time time stopping by this quaint town while driving back to the Bay Area. The downtown is like being in Universal Studios! It's really beautiful. Griff's caught my attention. The grand door is very welcoming. The Western interior is cool. I love it! It's a perfect pair for their menu. Their food is great too! Everything we ordered were tasty! Place was clean and they are definitely going for a specific vibe, rustic bbq type joint. The BBQ nachos were ok but sweet. Service on every occasion we visited was slow and we even waited a good length of time (even at the bar). The other downside is they don't typically keep good stock. On every occasion (we have been there three times) they have been "out" of something. While this place is great for the visitor or tourist, it's not a place the locals typically frequent. We live in town and have given them three different opportunities but it's just kinda meh. read more

Great BBQ! We stopped here to watch the Masters and have lunch. I had the brisket sandwich and my companion had the pulled pork sandwich. Both were very tasty! Ranch beans yummy and authentic. to start- we walked in at 4;30pm-waitress acknowledged us and said "be right with you"-there was an open table right in front of us-waitress proceeded to talk to other patrons then proceeded to go to another group and talk to them-never turning around and telling us to have a seat at the open table-very rude waitress. so we sat ourselves-don't think she liked that at all. food order-waitress came over and took our order. received food-2 cheeseburgers and fries- waitress came back and asked how is everything ? we just said o/k. actually the burgers where very dry and dead-lifeless !! the fries were cold and dead- 1 star is more than I wanted to give-but its the min. to get in comments on a brighter note the hostess was very nice-she should be the waitress and can the blond !! needless to say we won't be back and I'm sure we won't be missed. !!!!!!!!! 3.5 Stars On our way home from camping, we stopped by to grab a bite while our friend charged his Tesla. We sat outside since we had our dogs with us and it was nice and hot day. We ordered the 3 item combo, brisket, ribs, pulled pork, garlic fries.m, coleslaw and cornbread. I was craving a salad so I got the Santa Fe salad with smoked chicken. Our friend also ordered the 3 item combo but instead of pulled pork they selected chicken. Out of the 3 bbq items my favorite was the brisket! It was tender, smokey and just melts in your mouth. My second favorite was the cornbread! It was so moist, I should have order a few to go. As for the rest of the food, it was mediocre. Their bbq sauce was very average too! Their salad was a huge portion and very generous with the toppings. The service was wonderful. The staff was attentive and checked on us quite often. We frequent Griff's as one of our options when we are travelling from our home in the Bay Area to our home in Pine Mountain Lake. Last night I decided to get the prime rib as I had a good experience in the past. It took about 40 minutes to serve our food and the prime rib was cotton dry. I didn't want to send it back because it was already getting fairly late and I didn't want to spend another 40 minutes. My family likes Griff's and hopefully they QA their food before it goes out of the kitchen because I would not serve this to my guests and I'm just a home cook. read more

Was visiting the town of Murphy for the first time and saw lots of cars parking in this little town passing. I did a quick search and stumbled upon this spot and made it my mission to stop here before heading home. It was a good idea. We got: Pulled pork sandwiches Brisket sandwich Pulled pork sandwiches from the kid menu Corn dog from the kid menu The range of sides offered was great and the Mac and cheese with my sandwich was HUGE!
