This is my absolute favorite restaurant--by far!! The food is always phenomenal and the prices are very reasonable. Plus, the staff are some of the nicest people! I live in LA which has some phenomenal Mexican food, but this place takes 1st prize. Every time I come to visit Copperopolis, this is the first place I stop--and I end up going back every couple days if I can stay away that long! Everything I've tried is a 10/10, but my favorites are the carnitas flautas (packed with delicious meat and topped generously with sour cream and guacamole), cheese enchilada with red sauce, and carnitas burrito. Not sure what's going on at Mi Pueblo but our most recent experiences have been disappointing. There was an unmelted block of cheese in my enchilada and our plates were cool not hot. You can't get a chicken taco with white meat. Instead it's filled with a mix of stewed chicken. When I pointed out it was not white meat, they remade the taco and it tasted like teriyaki chicken...but it was white meat. They do have awesome margaritas though! read more

Had a good experience the first time we had dinner not so much the second time. Maybe it was because they were busy. Ordered steak and cheese salad. Had to ask for extra lettuce because there was very little on my plate. Didn't notice any cheese and not much steak. Pozole was just okay. Service wasn't the best. read more

Always a weekly staple in this house. We have very limited options for dining out and Mexican is one of the few they have here, but the food is good, portions are decent, and service is good. Would be better if they included a green salad to offset the carb heavy food otherwise solid. read more

They are as consistent as any restaurant I have ever visited. We always get the chicken enchilada plate and delish every time. Service is always perfect and not bothersome. Place is clean and not noisy. Very good value. And to finish off your meal you must try the flan. Would highly recommend this establishment!!! read more

This is a "hole in the wall" in a small strip mall. We only found it because we were going to the grocery store in the same parking lot. It appeared to be quite small from the outside. On the inside it definitely was not small. The decor was "so-so." We were greeted promptly and were shown to a booth. Our server was very pleasant. A small basket of chips was brought along with a container of salsa and some sort of cabbage slaw. The salsa was very tasty, just the right amount for heat. My wife ate most of the cabbage slaw. Additional chips would have been nice. Our food was brought promptly after we ordered. The quality was very good. We were very pleasantly surprised with the amount of meat that was in the nachos! The food was enough that we had leftovers for our dinner. The value to price ration was "up there." We are not from the area. If we were we most definitely would be trying out other menu items. The only drawback was the men's restroom was out of service. A sign on the door had an arrow directing men to use the women's restroom. I opened the door when a woman walked up behind me telling me it was the women's room. I laughed and pointed out the sign on the men's room directing men to use the women's room. My wife and I ordered dinner tonight from Mi Pueblo to go. I ordered a Carne Asada WET burrito (red sauce). When my wife returned home and sat down to eat I realized the burrito had no red sauce, cabbage or tomato toppers. I called and explained it to them and asked for a manager call back. The same girl called me back and said they would give me a $7.00 credit on a $17.00 burrito, our total dinner was $35.00. I was told we had to drive the dinner back to them, which i did not do, guess the picture was not good enough or possibly they wanted to use it for someone else's meal, and because I had already started eating it thats all they would do, .....$7 bucks. I was told that the kitchen said it was all there when they made it and i was basically called a liar. I even sent them a picture. The red in it is the salsa I dumped on it because there was no red sauce. This restaurant DOES NOT stand behind their food and prices are very high for mediocre food. Food is delicious! Attentive service and reasonable prices. We asked for and received some habanero salsa because husband likes things spicy! This place was amazing ! Only Mexican place in the area with good reviews. I'm pet sitting in the area and from SoCal and was looking for something authentic since I'm a Latina. It's hard to find good Mexican food out here. I absolutely loved their chicken enchiladas, rice and beans and chips and salsa. Their prices are good despite inflation. Sometimes it's better eating out because groceries are just as pricey these days. I love supporting small businesses. This business and family is worth supporting. Came in today with my heart set on some "huevos rancheros" placed an order and when I arrived it was ready and I paid even left a tip. Then I was told my bags were on the table. Every time previously an employee got my bags off the table brought them to the register and checked them for accuracy. Not today though. I checked my "huevos rancheros" and saw it was actually just a fried egg. No onions, bell peppers, salsa, pepper, cilantro nothing. I asked the employee who then proceeded to convince me that the basic fried egg is huevos rancheros. I was done after that. I did notice that the nice older lady wasn't there so I may return. but driving through a storm for food that I didn't order plus receive crappy service isn't good business. Definitely left an unhappy unsatisfied customer don't know if I'll return. read more

Stopped here as a midway point on the way to Yosemite. It was late on a Friday night and we were seated immediately. We were brought waters and menus very quickly and ordered shortly after. They brought out chips and salsa to tide us over. There were two types of chips - one seemed like a regular tortilla chip and the other was fried. The regular ones tasted slightly off to me but the fried ones were delicious. We then waited an excruciatingly (partly because of hunger and partly because we wanted to get back on the road) long time for our food. After 20 min or so, our waitress came out and offered us refills on our drinks and chips. Our food finally arrived after 30 min. We both ordered tacos al pastor and they were quite yummy. We decided that the wait was because everything was made fresh to order. Things were reasonably priced as well - $25 for two entrees. We ate here twice this week as we were staying at Lake Tulloch. Very good food. Both times the restaurant was empty as it was the middle of the week so it was not busy. The flavor is good and the portions are large. We had the appetizer sampler, tacos, sopes, and carne asada plate. Stopped into this restaurant for some takeout during lunch. I got the lunch special burrito with black beans and agua de Jamaica. I really enjoyed both the burrito and the drink. The drink was huge for $3.00 and wasn't too sweet! I also got a coconut to-go which was incredibly nice of them to do for us! They cut the tops off just enough that we would be able to use a knife and poke a hole through it! The customer service was great and the food was delicious. They weren't doing indoor seating but they had a few tables outside for anyone who might want to enjoy takeout outside. I also saw a promotion for an outside candlelight dinner for two which I thought was a neat idea! They had hand sanitizer available on the front desk. Mi Pueblo's is in a shopping center sandwiched between a real estate company & the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office. The interior was lovely & colorful. Nice comfortable decor package with some privacy between booths & tables. I asked about a Margarita. Server said "We serve Wine Margaritas." I raised my eyebrows. "We make them with Wine because we don't have a liquor license." "Ummm Thanks, but I think I'll pass." I ordered the Special:: Camarones a la Mantaquila Tiger Shrimp sauteed in garlic butter & our special sauce with vegetables. Served with rice & beans with a side of corn tortillas I love Seafood. Tiger Shrimp added a flavor very different from other meats. The rice & beans seemed lighter than what I'm used to. The sauce was a lime-&-cilantro blend ~ possibly with yogurt? ~ rather than a cream sauce or a red that overpowers. Vegetables were tender onion strips & mushrooms. It all blended into a delicious concoction. Served with housemade tortillas & the best sauce blend I've ever tasted. No doubt it was freshly made instead of canned. I didn't leave with that "Oh I shouldn't have eaten so much" feeling. read more

Copper is a teeny tiny little town and I always wonder how any business could possibly survive.I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. I got the 2 items plate-chicken taco and shredded beef burrito. The chicken was very flavorful and tasty in a soft corn tortilla. This came with rice and beans. The burrito had delicious shredded beef, rice and beans in it. My daughter had a bean and cheese burrito. The lady was very friendly and attentive! read more

My parents have a getaway home in Copperopolis, so whenever I have a free weekend, I like to make the drive from Oakland. This visit, my dad, boyfriend, and I had heard about Mi Pueblo from a neighbor and decided to try it out. We were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew we'd be satisfied. I value decor and ambiance and Mi Pueblo started off on the right foot with their Christmas/holiday decorations. It felt very homey and welcoming (and warm!!). We were greeted and sat in a comfortable booth. We were given chips and salsa right away. (Always a plus in my book!!) The chips were crispy and not the cheap, store bought kind. The salsa was fresh with a good amount of spice. We all ordered different platters (enchilada platter, burrito platter, and chimichanga platter - served with rice and refried beans). All of us were happy with our orders. The servings were big and I was pleased to bring leftovers home with me. They also have a good selection of bottled beers, as well as beers and hard ciders on draft. We also noticed they had an apple cider sangria for the season. Would love to try the sangria next time! Although it is not the best Mexican food I've ever had, I appreciate the service and ambiance, and welcome this restaurant to the Copperopolis community. read more

Usually once you get you "to go" home it's not up to par and/or missing parts not so with Mi Pueblo Restaurant It was delightful my one and only semi complaint is (for me) way to much meat in my wet burrito :) and for everyone that's NOT something to frown over it's a great big + Happy,,,,,, best yet. read more
