We will be back. We were heading home from Yosemite and my wife saw some reviews for this place. It was every bit as good as all the reviews. When we arrived, there was a wait. They said we would be seated within 15 minutes and we were. Our server was very friendly. And all the food was really quite good. They nailed it on our visit. One word: Amazing. From the attentive service, to the delicious and decadent food, everyone in our party was satisfied and happy. This breakfast place was a little far from where we were staying, but we wanted to explore the old town near Mandy's and stopped there for breakfast. We went around 9:30 in the morning and were seated instantly and at a booth like we wanted. I got the Hash Brown Heaven skillet and as a fan of hash browns, it was so good! It was very well served, and could be shared as it came with four pieces of toast, three eggs, and a bunch of bacon. The toast could have been also substituted by pancakes or biscuits, which was great. At our table, we also ordered Avocado Toast, an omelette, and a plate with eggs and bacon. The food was great all around and the restaurant took in substitutions very well. Also, the fruit that came with the plates, was, according to my mother, the best fruit she has ever had at a restaurant. This says a lot, as she always gets fruit! The restaurant itself was very cozy and the decor was very cute. It had a mix of decorative details from other time periods that added a nice touch. The service was so amazing. Our server were constantly refilling coffee, were very patient, and had smiles on their faces that made our breakfast relaxing and welcoming! Mandy's is my favorite breakfast spot. And now its my brother's too, everytime he comes to visit he wants to have Mandy's the morning he catches a train back home. As you can tell by the looks of the menus they are busy and well loved! My moms go to is the stuffed French toast and my brother weivers between the biscuits Diablo and the linguica skillet. I am extremely picky when it comes to French toast but they make the best French toast (besides my mom). Grandma tried their pumpkin pancake special served with a goat cheese caramel. This is the first time I went there. Somehow on sunday, the line is so long. 1) Decor is cute for a small town restaurant. 2) Food is definitely very good 3) Food come out very fast, since I have been waiting for very very long time to get seated, seem that they seem to forget me. I saw people after me, already seated. Then my husband went and ask. They seated me finally after pretty long time. But then again sunday is very busy. That is ok. We came here for breakfast while visiting our friends in Twain Hart. We arrived around 10:30am and were told that it would be a 15-20 minute wait for our party 5. We were seated in less than 5! We ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Biscuit Diablo and the Kid's Pancake Breakfast. We also ordered the Hot Chocolate, Peach Iced Tea and coffee. Everything was so good! The Lemon Ricotta pancakes were subtle and fluffy, the Biscuit Diablo had the right amount of heat and smokiness from the chipotle peppers - my daughter loved her breakfast as well. Pancakes were the size of dinner plates! They had so many options that sounded amazing - I'm coming back for their Sour Cherry Pancakes! And Mandy's has it all. My friends live in Sonora and while I was in town visiting, one morning we woke up hungover as can be and in dire need of classic breakfast food. Without question, they loaded us up in the car and said we're going to Mandy's. While it was a busy Sunday morning, it didn't take long for us to be seating in a booth tucked away in the back corner... honestly the best place to put us. I won't lie, we were looking pretty dishoveled. Our waitress was quick to take our drink orders as we browsed the menu, which didn't take long at all. I went with an omelet, with extra crispy hashbrowns, and a pancake on the side, with as much coffee as I could take. Our food came out quickly and not a single person at the table hesitated for even a second before diving in. My omelet was fluffy and cheesy and the green peppers inside were cooked just enough. My hash browns were indeed extra crispy and that alone was enough to put a smile on my face. And my pancake was exactly what I needed for "dessert" after my meal. I absolutely understand why this spot has over 450 reviews and a five star rating on Yelp. Everything from the service to the food and atmosphere were top notch. I was just a little disappointed in this place - we had a very long wait even on a Monday mid-morning to be seated. Once we got seated the service was good. I'm not a big breakfast fan, but the food was good - not memorable. I might have enjoyed it more but it was pretty crowded & loud. My sister & I were here for her birthday but she wears hearing aids so it was hard to converse. Maybe we'll try again sometime when it's not so crowded. Be PREPARED to wait before enjoying your meal here. As we were willing to do. We waited about 25 good minutes prior to our handheld buzzer going off with a table alert. We were seated in a a corner of the petite establishment. Surrounded by others enjoying their meals and or waiting to enjoy. The atmosphere is loud but in a "good" morning way. We were able to order right away and I kid you not, was eating about 15-20 minutes later. Was great timing as we arrived hungry. The food was good and presented nicely. The service was nice and fast as well. We only had one small minor correction of ordering bacon but received sausages. But that was handled right away. The establishment is located off of one of their main roads next to a gas station. Parking can be a tight fit as well. They are open for breakfast and lunch only. So be sure to plan accordingly in order to have enough time to have your meal. Clean establishment was marked a plus on my list! A nice gem to visit. read more

We were craving waffles for brunch and saw good reviews for Mandy's waffles on Yelp...and we were thoroughly delighted in the fresh, perfectly crisp yet soft golden waffles. YUMM. Topped with berries and whipped cream, with syrup and butter to add, this was such a treat! We sat at the bar and the staff were so friendly. It's a cozy and warm atmosphere, perfect for family meals. The only other feedback I'd give is that I wish the biscuits and gravy had a savory meat gravy. I really wish it was a sausage gravy but it was just a sort of thick floury slightly seasoned white cream sauce. First off, consider this a positive review because I have nothing but good things to say about this place. If that's enough for you to come visit, then you don't need to read further. Mandy's is a mainstay, comfortable breakfast and lunch diner, for the folks of west side of Sonora, Columbia, and many of the visitors to the area that are looking for a great meal. many people find this place by accident, or a random lookup in Yelp. Some regulars come from as far away as Murphys and Angels Camp or "up the hill". The place is about community, family and friends. If you sit at the counter, as I have for the better part of the past two years, you'll get into the family. Just introduce yourself. A few days of that and you'll be well known. Especially if you can laugh and join in the random chats that occur. Try something new every day until you can get your favorites figured out. There are many items to choose from. If you see something you need to modify, just ask. This is the most accommodating place in the world...Mandy might lovingly say "people are picky" as she slings up the best breakfasts and lunches in town. If it's within reason, your off menu request will be met with "Sure! No problem." if you modify you order too much, you my incur a moderate additional cost. On many Tuesdays and some Sundays Mandy stands behind the grill laughing as she cooks with the rest of the crew. The rest of the time three of her cooks are taking her lead. I like to listen in as the hosts and servers banter about topics of their day, sometimes the cooks, a generally a friendly but motley crew, can be overheard and can't be ignored. i also like to watch as the cooks toss their latest creations up on the counter. Every once in a while you'll see something new and may want to try that. Do it. The best meals here are the surprises you've never seen on the menu before. Or the daily specials. when you see the name sake owner in the restaurant, ask her what she recommends you try. ive never been steered badly, My favorite for lunch is the Rueben. Lemon ricotta pancakes are a light and easily put down for breakfast. Matts Chili is the bomb, but he's not in every days, so grab it while you can...and if you like a good chili omelette, even though its not on the menu, ask for it. Matts gonna do you right. But honestly, I've never had something here I didn't like. Today one of the newer hosts could be heard saying "that's what we're known for" when one of her regulars said "I'm just here for the good time." After all if you aren't at Mandy's to have a good time and to enjoy yourself, you can go to any place in town and create a crappy experience. But if you come in to Mandy's with an attitude, you'll probably leave smiling, having had your attitude adjusted (in a thoughtful and unobtrusive way.). This is by far the best restaurant for breakfast and probably for lunch in Tuolumne County. Every year it wins the Readers' Choice award in the local newspaper for the best breakfast in the Sonora area. The staff are awesome; they are friendly and fast. The food quality is superb with great options, and I always place a tip in the "Tip Jar for the Cooks." Sometimes there is a fairly long wait, especially on weekends. I've eaten at Mandy's twice now, and I can say I will be back again. The first time here, my husband and I had breakfast. He had the pork belly Benedict. The pork belly was soooo flavorful and tender. The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. The eggs poached perfectly. I had the corned beef hash and a side of biscuits and gravy. The gravy was seasoned will. The hash griddled nice and crispy like I like it. We also had the mango iced tea. Served in a nice big mason jar, it was refreshing. Not too sweet. Our second time, I wanted lunch. I ordered the Rueben sandwich, side of friend mushrooms, and a side salad. Everything was wonderful. My husband couldn't resist the pork belly Benedict again. LOL. It might have been even better than the first time! Our two year old son was with us the 2nd time. We ordered him a kid's quesadilla with chicken and fries. We put in his order when we ordered our drinks because we know how he can get antsy and we like to try to get his food first. Unfortunately, his plate came out only a few minutes before our food. The server kept apologizing profusely. We knew they were busy, and it was fine. We did appreciate that the server was apologetic. We had the same gentleman as our server both times and he is ON TOP OF IT! He is friendly and FAST! They turn tables very quickly here because the wait is usually out the door. What a great place. We liked the reviews so we decided to stop in and we drove an hour to get there. It was well worth it. I had the Wrangler omelette. It was one of the best omelets I've ever had. The portions are very generous. I had pancakes instead of toast and boy were they good. The Omelette stay together in a rich combination of textures and flavors. It didn't leak all over the place like a watery crummy omelet would. I cherished every bite. The guy who served us was really nice. Even though we had never been there before they treated us life old friends. I can't recommend this place enough. We were looking for a good place to eat before we headed back home. Hubby was the one who found this place while searching on here. We figured we had to try it since it has really good reviews. We were smart to go here early because the crowd started to arrive 15 minutes after we were seated. There's plenty of parking which is always a plus.The restaurant is small but quaint....very country...we are in Jamestown, afterall. We were greeted with a friendly smile from the hostess who was very much in the 4th of July spirit. First impression....clean restaurant with friendly staff. The hostess asked us what we wanted to drink right away. I ordered their Veggie Omelet and hubby ordered their chicken fried chicken.
