Maybe if they had good customer service they could have survived. The first time I went to Flappy's was during Christmas. I was blown away (at first). Their decorations were AMAZING. However, it was sooooo slow. From the moment we were seated it probably took about 15 minutes before we were acknowledged. Then it took the same before our drinks were brought and they finally took our order. Nearly 1 hour after we sat some of our pizza finally came. The calzone took an extra 15 minutes. During the wait we did not get an update or any notice from the one or two staff members. When the food eventually came out it was still missing things. When we placed the order we asked for marinara and ranch. Neither came out with the pizza and we had to ask 4 times before it was finally brought to our table. Not to mention, we only asked for 1 marinara and they brought 2 that were half full and charged us for 2.... Some of the pizza options were fun and creative but the service and speed was a huge letdown. It is sad to see another place in Sonora go out of business but this place did basically everything wrong. read more

Went into Flappy's twice this past week - Wing Wednesday with my leadership team from work & again Saturday for a late lunch with my family. We are so sad that Flappy's is closing their doors permanently today. The Vibe is always so fun, the staff is super friendly and the food & drinks are always great. Best Garlic Parm Wings I have ever had, and love the Chonky Sticks. So let me explain. I understand why Tim became emotional. TBH I didn't actually find Tim's review. Maybe it's just clever marketing. I will say it's not the worst but definitely not the best. Which is sad because it was definitely top 5 in my book 2 years ago. The time has not been kind to Flappy's quality. It feels rushed, maybe a little undercooked. You can see in the photo the chicken and waffle is missing the waffle altogether. It's just not what it was. Maybe it was a bad day or just threw them off. Came in with a large group of 13 after snowboarding/skiing at Dodge Ridge resort the day before and had lunch before heading home. The decor was amazingly Christmas themed and there were coloring pages for the kids while waiting for food. We tried the No Ragrets veggie pizza and the Cluck Norris. I would say the Cluck Norris won with white sauce and bbq chicken - really great with thin crust and not overly sweet. The No Ragrets was also good with a nice thin crust but got a bit soggy due to the veggies. Nice place to stop for a bite to eat inside or to get a slice or two from the window outside! Seasonal cocktails were both fun and delicious, personal fav: peppermint espresso martini. We had some yummy appetizers either the flappy knots and mozzarella sticks passed my daughter's cheese pull test. We grabbed a pepperoni pizza for the kids. Pepperonis were skimp, sauce was lackluster and crust was a disappointment. I know it's just a pepperoni pizza, but if the bones ain't good it shows. I got the hot honey chicken sandwich which I was really excited about, but didn't finish because it was overall too sweet from the honey. Our waiter, Cameron, recognized our OG Flappys shirts and let us know that their new merch is now available online--which we'll definitely be ordering soon! I've been here several times and the food is inconsistent. The female bartender is rude too - I stopped in during Mother's Day w/ a friend and her 6 year old daughter. In front of the child, the bartender asked to see our "f**king IDs" then apologized because it was a "crazy morning" girl had maybe 5 people at her bar and the restaurant was almost empty. This isn't the first time she's been short. I've contacted the manager before for issues I've had and never received a response so I don't feel like a dick complaining on here. We used to go for brunch and the guy that worked that was cool. If you're going to eat there I would recommend the plain cheese pizza, the toppings don't hold up well w/ their thin slices and it becomes really greasy. Avoid the calzone it has barely any sauce. Chicken wings are good and I like their ranch. Pizza rolls or whatever are reheat and sometimes come out cold in the middle.
