I honestly don't understand the bad reviews, we've dined here three times now and every visit has been a great experience! The food is always cooked to perfection, and the servers are consistently friendly and attentive. We always make reservations and have never had to wait. The ambience is lovely, especially for date nights. The bar menu offers plenty of options, and everything I've tried so far has been delicious (though I can't remember all the names!). My husband and I especially come for their oysters! they're always fresh, flavorful, and a great size compared to other restaurants. They do mention a dress code in the reservation reminders, but it's not too strict. We usually dress up, but we've seen plenty of casually dressed guests and it's totally fine. I made these plants about four weeks prior for Thanksgiving day because I've been to every restaurant in this facility and they have been phenomenal. Reservations are easy to create reminders came up properly to remind me in advance of the dress code and what was expected. We got there checked in with the hostess. She was so cute. Her name was Monica. She was very sweet. Very kind very attentive. The view is $1 million view but I'm a little bit biased. We live in the area and that is my favorite view. I travel all over the United States for work. I've been to multiple places but there's no place like the view you have in Jamestown and Sonora of the hills and just the people in the vibe. Our table was gorgeous our waiter John oh my gosh, she was such a sweetheart. I wish we have socialized all day. It started with our drinks. He made the suggestion the blackbird for a mocktail, my daughter loved it. She's 20 can't drink yet, but it was a beautiful suggestion. In addition we were not only celebrating Thanksgiving that we were celebrating her birthday as well. We ordered the charcuterie board. He asked how we like it served all at once if we want to do it by courses we chose to do it by courses just be advise. This is not sit down eat in one hour and be gone. We start at 4:30. We didn't get out there till seven. We started with our bread so they give you two different breads of focaccia bread, which is phenomenal. Oh my gosh and then like a bread that has seeds in it also really good but my favorite was the focaccia. They also gave us candied bacon with pecans on it chefs kiss to everything and then on top of that we get our charcuterie board, which was phenomenal. Great presentation. Great taste loved everything about it. Wish I got a picture of it. Sorry not sorry. They brought our soups out the French onion came out beautifully done. Great presentation with the cheese on top exactly how you would expect it from a height in restaurant now here's the piece of resistance. They bring out this white egg and take the top off and there's a huge piece of lobster at the bottom of the bowl with some croutons and I'm thinking of myself. OK, where's my best they bring this container and start pouring it into the bowl to bathe the lobster kissing it as though it's a sun kissing the beach and ocean right at sunset. It was a beautiful scene and then they took this beautiful oil. Drizzle a few drops on it. Oh my gosh that lobster bisque. I'm single it's gonna take a very special man to replace that lobster bisque chefs kiss to that too we finished that all the presentation. The delivery was just top notch. They bring out our meal. My dad and I have the Duncan with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes on top of the stuffing or dressing how you like to call it and a cranberry sauce that have the hint obsessed they just can't place the seasoning my daughter have a Ragu beef hamburger again phenomenal cook excellent taste. Everything was nice warm well presented just a phenomenal meal. I have a chocolate crème brûlée, which was oh my God I can't even describe it. It was heaven on earth tasted like espresso. My daughter and dad shared an apple crisp with a calmer drizzle and they wrote happy birthday among aside for her. They had chocolate spoons for my crème brûlée, and they made her a feather out of chocolate that went on top of the pie detail was phenomenal every detail every attention to detail every piece of this restaurant and the meal very planned out just a great great experience you walk in is gorgeous. It's fresh and it's walking but that's sexy. It's this place where you're like oh my gosh, this is up here in the hills. I mean it really talks sexy to you and the fact that they have these this bar and like this little area where there's like a little display and this little wine area it's just like wow and then you see the view of these beautiful hills as the sun setting and you're watching this in Jamestown and you're thinking this is in my own backyard. Why would I want to travel any places else when I have this beautiful scenery and then just the server John was phenomenal friendly making suggestions had robust conversation regarding wine and food I have not had a waiter like that in a long long time the mail was just out of this world worth the prize would do 100% again highly recommend this would be a great date place for a couple wanting to reconnect. Located on the 9th floor with its gorgeous ambiance, I literally felt like I was in a totally different city. But it only had a layer of cheese on the top. Under the cheese was like 7 layers of potatoes that had zero flavor. Just thin sliced potatoes cooked with a light cheesy top. Should at least flavor the potatoes or put layers of cheese throughout. We didn't finish 5. Salmon, was kinda odd to get a salmon dish with avocados on the top. The salmon was cooked well but it was a bit fishy tasting. Not bad, this is the only plate that was ok. Also came with skin up and out of the 100 times my wife has ordered salmon around California its never came skin up so that was a little odd as well. 6. Crab Cakes, they were good. But at $27 for two crab cakes a little bigger than silver dollars they had better be so damn delicious we cant stop talking about them. Not the case at all. 7. Lobster Bisque, This was excellent! Highly recommend 8. Bread, Ironic that I would talking about the bread but it really was that good. Loved it. Hate to write this review. This place has so much potential. I feel they are working out the kinks so we will try them again in the future. We knew about 6 of the people working there so it was great to see them and the customer service was awesome. Starting with the ambience, it was very classy and inviting. The lighting provides a cozy warmth that pairs well with the dishes. The food was very delicious, and although it is expensive it is to be expected! But regardless for the price you pay the food is absolutely wonderful. I had the fish of the day with the haystack fries and I don't think I will ever find another set of fries as good as these. The fish had a wonderful palette with a nice citrus flavor. Lastly the service was phenomenal. Our server Julio was very kind and patient, I've never met a server so welcoming and willing to provide only the best! I must have had more than a handful of refills on water consistently and efficiently! Maybe not a place I would come to consistently but it was definitely a wonderful experience and super hospitable! Incredibly disappointing The service is slow, it took about 15 minutes to get water and meet our waiter after being sat down. I started off with lobster bisque soup & a tequila sunrise and it was delicious. Soup was very creamy but that's my type of soup. The drink was solid. I tried the wagyu burger and the beef patty was more rare than I had asked for and the center of the beef was cold. It comes with a weird sauce that really ruins the burger. I would stay away from this burger. I also tried the steak with lobster tail and it was cooked nicely medium rare. Just an average good steak. I think this place is okay but for the price it's really not worth it. The service is incredibly slow despite not many customers. Nothing special I can really recommend here, and the prices are really high ($110 for lobster tail added). If you're here for appetizers and drinks , it will be a good time but if you're here for dinner, you'll find tastier and cheaper 30 mins away. read more

The restaurant is beautiful and it has an amazing view that can be seen from both your tables and the patio. Upon arrival, the host immediately greeted us, he found our reservation and asked us to please wait while they get our table ready. The staff was friendly and checked on us throughout our time within the restaurant. The Restaurant turned out beautiful, and defiantly something that brings upscale to our small town. Our waiter was Kass, and he was not only an excellent server but always had a smile on his face. I think he deserves a pat on the back, he was friendly, polite, attentive, professional and was great at not only serving his tables but assisting with others as well. He assisted with getting the Lobster off the tail. He even had genuine answers to some of our curious questions. We had other servers check on us as they passed our table from time to time, ask how our food was or if we would like anything else. The manager was an incredible host, he made rounds to every table, talked with guests, checked on orders, poured wine & champagne table side for many tables. He hospitality was admirable to say the least. We ordered Crab Cakes, Pork Belly & Cauliflower appetizers. The pork belly was delicious, 20/10! Highly recommend, the flavor was out of this world. The cauliflower was good and so were the crabcakes, but the pork belly stole the show. As for our main courses we ordered bone in ribeye & Lobster. The Lobster was melt in your mouth, the best I've ever had! The ribeye was delicious, slightly more done than requested but delicious! We also got potatoes Gratin, Lobster Mac & cheese, pan seared shrimp, Brocolini & Asperagus. Which were all delicious! I oredered a Spicy Peacock cocktail and it was the star of the show. The flavor profile and presentation of the drink was *chefs kiss* The spicy Jalapeno tequila paired with the sweet dessert pear and agave was incredible. Highly reccomend this cocktail. So sad to write this review because I was excited for a nice restaurant in the area. Thankfully we had been warned about the dress code, so no problems there. Had reservations at 7:30 and had to wait until 8:05 to be seated. We waited in the bar and ordered a sangria, but it was not good at all - very watery and bitter. It seemed like he had just taken a glass of wine and dumped a few orange slices in it. The bartender argued with me about what a sangria was when I wanted to get something else, which was awkward. When we were finally seated, it took an hour to get our food. My burger was ordered medium well and came out very well done. The outside was charred and inside was dry. The ingredient quality was nice, but not the temperature I asked for. Others in the party ordered a wedge salad that was not up to standard. With these prices, you'd expect to be raving about the food but all the dishes were mediocre at best. I hope they work out the kinks because it really is a beautiful setting. We ate here when they opened and service was very slow as they were missing people in the kitchen and on the floor. Last night we ate there again - service was impeccable, atmosphere is very nice and for the most part, the food was excellent. We were 4, two with birthdays in their 90's. One ordered the special of sea bass and it was beautiful to behold. One had the lobster bisque and scampi pasta - he liked both but the portions were just too large for him so part of the bisque got left and pasta went home with him. Another had the boneless steak and was happy - I had scallops and it was a large portion - at the opening they had an appetizer of scallops that filled me. But cooked perfectly both times. We should not have odered the sides as it was too much food, but they were good and some went home. The only miss- but a big one, was my appetizer of Iberico ham. I have recently returned from a trip to Barcelona, where I gorged on bot Iberico and Iberico Bellota ham, so had a fairly good idea of what I expected. One other person at our table also is well versed in it. What we got resembled jerky rather than the soft and sweet ham we expected, served cut in thin slices. This was thick - I think because it was so dried out they could not shave it in slices, and was market price, so very expensive - and 5+ times what bellota Iberico ham costs to buy by mail order. On the way out we saw the ham leg they were using in the chilled room - it is down to the bone and I am fairly certain the same one they had when they opened, but it has air dried to the point of being really too dry for an appetizer, but perfect for garnish or an ingredient in a dish. So that was a BIG miss, but the rest was very good. The only other blip was they were perhaps missing a bartender as one birthday boy was hoping for a martini before dinner and they could not do that - only could offer wine and beer that night. We had a wonderful dinner at this very nice restaurant. Our friends who live locally, brought us to celebrate NYE. We had lobster bisque, wedge and Caesar salad, scallops, filet mignon, NY strip steak, shrimp pasta with a side of brussel sprouts and potatoes gratin. We were all four very pleased with our meals. The only improvement we could suggest would be the lobster bisque was barely warm so perhaps heat it up a bit more before sending it out from the kitchen. Ambience was great and service (Ashley) was fantastic! We come from the Bay Area so we thought the pricing was reasonable especially given the surroundings, food quality and taste. Last night I popped into Chicken Ranch casino with a couple of friends and popped into Perch for dinner.... Best decision! Seated near the kitchen with a great view for sunset and met John, our server. What a blast!! John even made describing the menu fun! He was so much fun; and an amazing attentive server. We tried the pork belly, the wedge salad, scallops, filet, mushroom risotto, and a special which included venison and lamb. All cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. This restaurant is beautiful! Spacious & elegant. The wall of windows have an expansive view of the foothills to the west, to a lovely sunset the evening we were there. (Less appealing after dark when all you can see is the well-lit parking lot below.) Service couldn't have been better. Michelle was warm, friendly, and well informed about the menu. (Wish she had informed us about the price of the brandy I ordered with dessert: $60 for a single ounce!) We ordered the cioppino, and halibut with caviar sauce which was that evening's special. His cioppino was chock full of crab, lobster, oysters and mussels! He said the seafood was all good, but the bit of traditional cioppino sauce in the bottom of the bowl barely flavored it. My halibut was divine! I could have licked the plate! The wine list was insufficient. Dessert (crème brûlée, and something minty-chocolate) was served on a platter with a personalized anniversary wish written in chocolate. Made it feel very special! I'm sure we'll come back to The Perch in the future, but will be bolder about asking for prices. The surprises added up to a breathtaking total. read more
