Good little Irish pub bar serving up great beers and drinks. Inside is a bit dark so we sat outside in their courtyard patio as it was a warm day. Their menu is a bit eclectic and serves up dishes that are somewhat unique. The hits: the staff are all friendly and attentive. They serve Guinness which was a win in my BF eyes already! I also ordered an avocado stuffed with chicken and cheese. I enjoyed it but the cheese was a bit overwhelming. I would have wanted the other half of the avocado instead or with that amount of cheese. My BF ordered the dip sandwich which was tasty. The miss: we ordered the Irish nachos. This one can be either a hit or miss depending on your palate. We did not care for the beer cheese and bacon jam on the kettle potato chips but others seem to enjoy it. Overall a solid place for a quick drink and bite. read more

Nice and cool and dark inside - perfect for a 100-degree weekend lunch. We were welcomed by a friendly server and found a table pretty easily (it was about 1 pm on a Saturday). Good beer selection and fun menu with classic pub food. Everyone enjoyed their food (mac and beer cheese, reubens, grilled cheese with bacon jam). Enjoyable respite from the heat. read more

Jessica poured me a perfect Black and Tan. I could stop there and be a happy lad. But... Split Shepard's pie with another fella. Plenty for both of us. Feels like a real pub. Live music is always great. Beer selection is spot on. read more

The Kelly's showed up at Murphys Iris Pub Hungry, and they did not disappoint . The Irish Nachos, the Stuffed Avocado, Ceasars salad were good. The chicken wrap was good if you like mayo, and it's a little spicy. All in all, great food and great service. Love it. read more

Went to hear a friend 's daughter play her music. We tried the nachos with carnitas -- sorry, no photo. It was unusual with potato chips instead of tortilla chips. The toppings were really good -- Bavarian cheese, bacon jam, hold the tomatoes!!, and carnitas. I would rather have either more toppings or less chips because we had a lot of dry chips as the end. The music can be very good here and the vibe is always great with a great list of beer on tap. The bartenders are very welcoming and the servers are nice. I've been coming here for the past 10 years and the last three meals here just didn't seem as appealing. I used to love the Reuben's, but they aren't the same. I had The Shepards pie today and it tasted like liquid smoke. I think that I will try the Mac & Cheese the next time. The soups are varied and interesting and the clam chowder is good. The soft pretzels with the two dipping sauces are a tasty snack if you can't decide! read more

Nice atmosphere and the live music was good. Was sitting at a table in the back and had one of the workers come up to us to let us know it'll be last call. I go up to the bar to order a single beer not too long after and the younger girl that wore the flannel and had dark long hair told me it was last call 10 minutes ago (while eating at the bar top) then poured a drink for someone else at the bar as we were walking out read more

This place has the typical Irish pub feel. We were excited to try the food based on the reviews but some things fell short. First, I ordered the shepherds pie, which came out as a lunch service instead of a dinner serving, even though it was 5:30 and I ordered off the dinner menu. The waitress told me I could either get another one to complete the meal or order something else, so I got the Anthony's salad in addition which wasn't my plan and raised the cost of my meal. My hubby got the Irish Pub Dog, which was amazing. The shepherds pie was PACKED with garlic and black pepper, so much so that it was spicy and almost inedible. We have been to Ireland and had shepherds pie, plus I make it at home and this is not like any shepherds pie I have tasted. The salad was delicious, so it was such a disappointment that the shepherds pie was so bad. When we got to the end of our meal, my husband discovered that someone else's tab had been added to our meal and our waitress had not realized this. We received no discount for the mistake of the lunch portion of the shepherds pie. I would come back for the hot dog and the salad, but be prepared to wait a while and avoid the shepherds pie. read more

What a fun find! Visiting Murphys for the first time and needed a place to eat. It was a little late and not many choices. Stumbled into the pub because we heard some great music wafting around...great decision. The food was so scrumptious...like something my nana used to make; yummy in the tummy! This is a great pub in the heart of historic Murphys and, as is not uncommon in this area, makes good use of the town's name. It has a definite ean towards Irish or British pub feel. There's fairly limtied seating inside, since it's small, but there's an outside area. Staff are mostly very friendly and go a great job. They have a good range of different beers, with some uncommon and very good beers on tap, mostly from across California, but with some good Irish beers which one does nto normally see on tap here, like O'Hara's , as opposed to just the usual Guinness stable stuff. Food is great. The Irish Nachos were phenomenal, using kettle chops which actually provided just the right texture and crispiness, plus a great range of toppings giving lots of flavour and balance. 5 stars. Shepherd's pie was nice. A touch salty and fatty perhaps but rich and flavourful. 4 stars. Pretzels with beer cheese and mustard were excellent. 5 stars. read more

We spent the day, (and night) in Murphys for a quick little weekend getaway from Sacramento. Around lunchtime, we randomly stopped by Murphys Irish Pub for a couple of beers and appetizers, when our server suggested we come back again later to check out some live music. We did! We came back around 6, for dinner and enjoyed the spicy chicken wraps, and these killer soft pretzel sticks, (and more beer). They have fairly large beer menu featuring a lot of local beers and wine. By the time we were done eating, the place was completely full of people who came to see the band. The live music was provided by The Laurie Morvan Band, who rocked the place for a good couple of hours? (I lost track of time) Overall, we had a great time, and would definitely come here again. So, stop by the ol' pub if you come to Murphys! read more

This is such a cute bar in downtown murphys. THEY DO NOT SERVE LIQUOR, just wine and beer! It's small, but there is always live music - check the lineup on their website. Beware that there is a sliding cover fee depending on the band performing! The bartenders are very kind and serve you quickly . The wine and beer are super affordable- no more than $8 a drink. I liked that there is a "pay it forward" wall that you can utilize. I bought a drink for a stranger who needed a smile Overall, we love stopping here for a glass of wine when in downtown murphys! Murphys Irish Pub is full of character, fantastic music, and good vibes. My husband came here the other week for a low-key jam and we both had a great time. My water glass was refilled with a big smile throughout the evening and everyone else both in and outside the bar (in their lovely outdoor patio area) - were well-attended-to - too. I didn't get to try any of their food, but the dishes that passed by me, looked hearty and tasty. I was most impressed by how clean Murphys Irish Pub was. The bathroom was wonderful and well kept - as were all of the tables and bar seating. The vibe was low key throughout our time here and it was nice to watch regulars stop in and enjoy the music wafting throughout this lovely spot. This place has really good pretzels. The clam chowed was a little too salty and more then one people said it. Staff was a tad bit rude especially the girl behind the bar and the guy was kinda rude but he was alright. The have really good band playing and they where extremely nice. We like going here every time we visit Murphy's. There's just this vibe about it that makes you feel at home. On the day we were there, there was live piano music! The wait staff is great and the food is pretty good. It is pub food and pub food goes great with a pint (or local wine). On our last visit, we shared a Shepherd's Pie (we should have got our own). The food and beer were great. However the service was horrible. They only had two servers to help a roomful of people. We ordered a beer, pretzels and soup. It took over an hour to get our food. When we asked to be refunded for our food so we could leave, the food magically appeared. The servers were unapologetic. read more

Update on my review: I had originally posted a 5 star review. The food is delicious, but the service leaves much to be desired. We have been here probably 3 times now, and every time, the service has steadily gotten worse. I almost feel like we are a burden, when in actuality, we are usually incredibly easy to please. They also have live music on weekends, which was probably why. We got the Irish Nachos, which were made with kettle chips instead of tortilla chips. Kind of a unique twist, and the small was plenty for my dinner. Also got the Shepard's Pie, which was good, although I wouldn't say amazing. Service was fine, but nothing outstanding. We were nearby and decided to stop by this pub real quick. The hot dog was the best one I have tasted in years, by far superior in taste from most average hot dogs, I added the coleslaw into and it was . The pretzels were a nice touch too. The beers were refreshing and tasted amazing. Although I'm all the way in Sacramento, I would definitely be making the trip back for that hotdog. read more

Normally I would give this place 4 to 5 stars, but on the Dia De Los Muertos day, the short chunky blonde behind the bar was yelling at customers. Plus, we were all sat down and forgotten about for an hour! Very unorganized when they are busy! I've been here before several years ago, and it was amazing! read more

Seemed like a lot of regulars as they all knew one another. Female bartender came out and took our beer orders and then brought menus. We ordered food (fish & chips, and a BLTA Club). Friend said they have great fish & chips and she was very pleased. i was surprised to find the BLTA far above my expectations for a pub. Fries were good too- perfectly cooked to a golden brown. I would go back for that sandwich when in that area of town. The food items were each just over $20-24, four beers $9 each. With tax and 20% tip it was just under $100 I'd go back 100%. Not a place I'd take a date, however.

I didn't see it on the menu, but we saw another couple that had it, so we asked to order it too just for $5. We also tried the pizza and buffalo wings. The pizza was amazing! The breadsticks are so worth it! The wings are good too! All the servers were really nice. Any time a server walked by, they would always ask if we needed anything. It was so nice eating outside, it wasnt too loud, the weather was perfect. We will definitely come back here again!

Nope nothing but net at McP with plenty of thinly sliced juicy layers of meat and sauerkraut and thousand is one of the best Rueben's I've had in a year. Also, Trey was a fantastic server and Bell and the manager was very welcoming fantastic location great staff fantastic food . I don't like how they have plastic cups, but apparently it's a sizing issue. They just don't have room for storage but that's a tiny negative compared to the rest of the meal was fantastic.

The mac and cheese was hot...but a little one note (authentic, because that area of the world is not known for spice. Sorry....dig at the UK ). The fish and chips were a disappointment. The batter was falling off and NOT crispy....and the fries were not memorable. So, basically, pick and choose....some goodies, some not so much. We would definitely return for drinks and wings, and great service, but....maybe up your game on your Irish dishes

People complain about a cover but they don't understand the business side of things when you have to flip the bill for multiple bands to entertain your guests and stage and rental equipment pay staff extra staff extra security etc. A great small business in our town that continues to thrive due to the community support on days and events like this and of course awesome staff who is very welcoming and friendly.
