I highly recommend anybody go here, BUT I HAVE TO SAY WHAT I HAVE TO SAY!!!!!!!!! I was there today, I do not know who the chef was (clearly not the usual one!!), but Angelica was working in the bar. I ordered my burger medium, and it was so far past well done, it was not even edible. It was dry and NOOOO!!! I always order grilled onions, and they have never once charge me for it. Today they charge me $.75 for four skinny strings of grilled onions and yet still put raw onions on my burger that I didn't want. I asked for extra pickles and did not get any extra. I ordered a glass of wine, they did not have any in the bar. Angelica went to the back and came back with a bottle of wine that was not chilled. It came right off the shelf, or at least that's what it tasted like. I had to fill the entire glass of wine with ice, and then it was watered down and was no good. If I did not take that burger to go, I would've sent the whole thing back. THEN! I pulled my salad out of the bag, it was in a teeny tiny bowl. When I eat the salad in the restaurant, it's in a big giant bowl. The salad in this little bowl was less than half of the salad I get had I eaten inside the restaurant. There is no way I will ever order to go food from old corner saloon ever again. I asked for extra lettuce, there was literally about 1/3 of the lettuce. I usually get in a regular salad when I order it inside the restaurant with my burger. Sad part is, and this could happen to anyone, if this was my first time eating at this restaurant, it would have been my last. There's no way I would've ever came back to a restaurant when they cannot get an order even close to right. #NotHappyAtAll and I just threw $47 in the trash. There is a 0% chance I will ever order "to go" food from there ever again, in fear that it will be a terrible order like it was just now. I don't have money to spare, and I literally threw $47 in the toilet today eating at old corner saloon. I could not be more disappointed.

At the end of the night we got our bill and luckily someone in our group caught that we were charged $25 for a trucker hat which none of us requested to purchase. We brought this to the girl's attention and her response was "well that's why I told you to check the bill." In a sarcastic and rude voice. I strongly believe based on this interaction that they charge unsuspecting out of town visitors for their merch and hope that people won't notice and then they just pocket the money? We then asked for a receipt which we never received.... Shady. I really cannot get over how rude the staff was and can't wait to try other places in Murphy's and never return to this establishment. Pretzel was yummy though. So they get two stars just for the pretzel.

We ordered 2 Double Cheese Burgers, the Broccoli Bacon Ranch Salad and an order of French Fries that included a side of ranch. All of what we ordered was delicious. The burgers come with double patties and are grilled along with the onions, the bun lightly toasted, soft and sweet and included a smear of 1,000 dressing. The burgers have 2 different types of cheese, fresh crispy shredded lettuce, pickles and sliced ripe tomato. It is the perfect combination and proportions of all ingredients. The Broccoli Bacon Ranch salad was not like anything I have had before and was a nice surprise to our taste buds. The salad included fresh bell peppers both yellow and red. It also had pickled onions, sunflower seeds, bacon and blue cheese that was all tossed together with ranch dressing which made it very convenient and easy to eat. Last but not least, the French Fries. They included a nice seasoning on the outside for a crispy texture and a creamy inside which I love. I liked the fact that they serve the fries with homemsde ranch and I didnt even have to ask for it...it's the little things for me. Dave, the owner is a magnificent host and and all around great guy. He welcomes everyone who comes through the door as though they are a decades-long regular. He has a bottomless wealth of stories to tell and is always ready to join in a good conversation. The menu is simple: a selection of about twenty well-curated bottles of beer, and a rotating selection of wines, most of which are made by Dave wearing his other hat as an award-winning maker of port-style and red wines. Dave says that he intends to put a small tapas menu together soon, but for now there is food available at the hotel next door. No matter, the limited menu is part of the attraction of the St. George Wine Room. The focus here is not on the vile pretensions of the wine snobs and foodies, but on time spent in a cozy place with an honest drink and the easy conviviality that a well run bar provides. Here, strangers are swapping life stories fifteen minutes after meeting and generally behaving as though meeting at a party hosted by a close mutual friend. There is a tiny stage that plays host to a variety of local acts from singer songwriters to small Latin combos a few nights a week, as well as serving as the arena for one of the most joyfully informal karaoke nights this side of a Filipino wedding. The night we were there, the solo guitarist playing covers at the restaurant around the corner was maybe going to show up. He didn't. Instead, the sons of one of Dave's friends came in and played a low key duet set of intimate guy-with-guitar songs and elegant improvisations, followed by a bout of joyous karaoke. The informality of the evening's entertainment only served to heighten the homey feeling. To be perfectly honest, I would rather not advertise that the St. George and Volcano exist at all. I'd hate to see this place devolve into an antique boutique cluttered little town like the nearby Sutter Creek. Charming as that city is, the simplicity and hideaway cosiness of Volcano and towns like it offer something different, and it's places like Dave's that are illustrative of this difference. But this place is too great to keep to myself, so do yourself a favor and stop in.

After frequenting the other local establishments I was ready to call it a day, or was that night, when the hubby said "I'm not done yet!" So back we went to the wine bar & am I glad we did! There was a duo playing guitar & harmonica & sounding nothing like latin jazz but we got ourselves a beer & settled in by the pot belly stove to hang out a bit. The latin band had not showed up so these guys just grabbed their instruments & entertained us all night! Later we sauntered outside where some had gathered & we were welcome like old friends. The front of the bar is like someone'e home patio - filled with seating & people stopping by to chat. We met the locals, the owner brought me a wonderful glass of port he had made, totally unbidden & we hung out for quite a long time, another beer, another glass of port...an unplanned day that turned out to be one we'll remember for a long time!
