I recently went here for a baby shower on a Saturday afternoon at 12 pm. I was low-key relying on the valet parking. There was a valet sign when we pulled up but no one to take our car, I ended up circling the block twice and I was able to get street parking but I wish they offered the service while I was there. The service was absolutely amazing. The waiters stopped in frequently and checked if we needed anything. They always refilled our drinks which by the way were delicious and they did not skimp on the alcohol. My favorite was the espresso martini. As for the food the bread was so good. I'm a bread girl and it was crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. The appetizer course came with baked clams, shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, stuffed eggplant, and I couldn't figure out the last item. I think it was fried cheese but I was not a fan lol. Pasta I chose the fusilli with bacon and a butter garlic sauce. I instantly regretted it after I saw the rigatoni come out. The bacon flavor was not prominent and the sauce was so watery, it didn't not stick to the pasta at all. My entree was the veal and although crispy and thin, it was dry. I wish there was a side sauce or maybe some marinara to take away the dryness. Would I come back here for the food again, maybe if I tried other things. Ate: Nice bread basket Salmons Alla terra Chicken scarpiello Linguine Del Mar Italian cheesecake Cappuccino Total $147 for 3 The olive oil requested & served was top notch which was a big win for me. At $38 the salmon was pricey, but it was a meal served with both zucchini & nice al dente broccoli. The salmon served sans skin with overcooked zucchini was generous and tasty nonetheless. The chicken scarpiello with vinegar peppers was the top dish. I would get that again. Italian cheesecake was ok, likely not housemade. PV is definitely a vibe if you're in the area. read more

I know people that refer to Ponte Vecchio as "The Last Real Italian Restaurant in Brooklyn." I don't know what that means really because there's plenty of other classic Italian spots around, but they are my friends, so we know their judgment is questionable at best. However, I do really love grabbing a big group, and celebrating here. (Going to Bay Ridge feels like a celebration to me, and I'm sure that's how everyone feels.) In an ideal world, you want to sit in the comfortable backyard on a warm night, drink an excellent martini or two, and follow it up with wine and a seafood heavy order. Calamari. Baked clams. Soft-shell crabs if they're in season. Spaghetti vongole. Mussels. Swordfish with pesto. Raindrops on roses. These are a few of my favorite things. The staff is usually great. I love the older bartender who makes those mean martinis, and the borderline abusive waitstaff that makes me feel like I'm at home except when they call me "Big Guy." They'll bring out an absurd dessert plate and sparklers for a birthday, and that will make up for the fact that it's a little too pricey for what you get. read more

I've had many birthday parties and family events here throughout my life and I'm obsessed with their food. My favorite is basically everything but if I had to pick it would be the gnocchi's. I also love the angel hair pasta with garlic and oil and chicken cutlet. The service is always perfect even when it's busy they make sure to take care of you! Looking for a romantic and quiet dinner with my partner, we were drawn to the elegant ambiance of the Ponte. Despite it being a busy Saturday night, we were seated right away. The waiter greeted us warmly and promptly served us some bread and breadsticks. We decided to start with the Polpo Ai Ferri ($28), grilled octopus with a red wine lemon sauce. While the octopus itself seemed fresh and tender, we found the sauce to be a bit off for our palates. For our main courses, I opted for the Crab Cakes ($21). Unfortunately, they were small and lacked flavor. I do understand the size of the crab cakes as this was an appetizer, and not an entree. My partner chose the Scallopine Piccata ($34), veal in a lemon sauce, but found it bland as well. The presentation of the Scallopine Piccata was also disappointing. The dish is usually served with broccoli, but the waiter graciously allow us to replace the side with capellini. read more

I've been going to PV since I was a kid. After moving to Staten Island, I returned this past Tuesday--and I have to say, the experience was awful. The pasta was overcooked and gummy, like glue. When we arrived, the hostess who seated us seemed completely unprofessional--like she belonged at a strip club, not at the front of a restaurant. The music was blasting, as if they were trying to mimic one of the loud, trendy spots in Miami. The waitstaff had zero personality. Unless they already knew you, they barely interacted. No manager or owner came by to check on us. It felt like they only cared about catering to the usual crowd--the ones they knew would tip big. It ended up being a total waste of a date night. There were waiters hanging out at the bar, drinking, while others stood around glued to their phones. The place wasn't even busy, yet it felt chaotic and careless. My first visit to Ponte Vecchio was to celebrate the wedding of some close friends. First of all kudos to our server Pat and his assistant from Ecuador whose name I forgot to find out for their friendly, efficient and professional service as well as to the kitchen staff for preparing a delicious meal. We began with some champagne and a delicious array of appetizers including fresh tender fried calamari, a stuffed fig and bacon special, fried zucchini and fried mozzarella. And of course an arugula salad to pretend we were eating healthy! Our main courses included two veal dishes, steak and an off the menu eggplant Parmigiana. All were very tasty. The food and service here is amazing. I ordered a bottle of Pinot Nior to start. Then into the fried calamari. Perfectly fired and fresh. The sauce served with it was perfect. The bread was lightly toasted and fresh. There was even breadsticks. Then onto the pasta Ponte Vecchio. Perfectly cooked pasta with peas, prosciutto, in a red cream sauce. Perfectly made. The waiter was very helpful and stayed on top of the table but not overbearing. Be prepared it is kinda of loud in there. Plenty of tables with clean white table cloths. I planted my self at the bar, and I couldn't help noticing that there were "Goumba's" everywhere. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio, and I slowly got into the soundtrack. The dining room began filling up and the noise level got a bit loud. I ordered a marinated Seafood Salad as an appetizer. It was very tasty. The dining area is clean and bright, and service was always fast and friendly. So far, I haven't met a dish or drink I didn't like. Don't skip the Fried Calamari, Baked Clams, and Chicken Parm. Not the Ponte Vecchio I remember from decades ago. While in Brooklyn, decided to go for a holiday meal. I remember them for their Spedini, so flavorful and covered with capers in a brown anchovies sauce. This one was not crispy very thick or with the flavorful sauce, this was a lite tomato sauce. The veal chop also had the same tomato sauce, and I was expected more mushrooms and cheese, kind of disappointing, since we had so many fond memories. All of which were outstanding I personal favorite was the zucchini flowers. It was stuffed with ricotta and plated on top of an amazing t'imitai sauce. For entree I ordered the shrimp and 1/2 plate of their pasta (pics attached) cooked to perfection and was AMAZING! I tried a little of everyone plate. Everything everyone ordered was GREAT!
