    We came in at 7 and the place was busy. A party was leaving. There were three tables open. We asked for a table in the corner but they said we couldn't sit there since it was for a party of 6 and we were only 3. They sat us at a table right Infront of the door. We had a nice Spanish man get us water and tell us the specials of the day. While we are deciding what to eat an older white man with glasses comes over and starts moving stuff on the table for no reason. Thought it was odd. 10 minutes later the white man comes back to take our order. My friend and sister order. He's half paying attention because he's watching everything else going on in the restaurant. I ask him to request the pasta special for me. He only mentions the tomatoes and zucchini so I say I want it. He goes to walk away while I'm mid telling him that I need gluten free pasta. My friends meatballs come out in a saute pan. My friend hates the presentation I think it's cute so an app. The meatballs are good and the sauce is fantastic. Then our entrees all come in pans. Super tacky and ugly. I couldn't believe we had a table full of cooking equipment. So I get my pasta and my sister goes is that cheese on top? He never told you that. Luckily I don't have a problem with the cheese but he half ass told me what the meal was. Throughout the whole experience our water glasses were always full. Nobody came to check on us or ask if we wanted anything else. Mr white manager kept breathing down our necks literally because my sister complained about it. He hovered over us way too much. You would think the customer service would've been better since he was always around but nope. My pasta special was enjoyable. My sister liked her whole wheat pasta with veggies. My friend got the ravioli and he said it's one of the best he's had. I would come back again but I'd sit far away from wherever the manager is.

    Restaurant is very beautiful, feels like an Italian cozy lil cave. The food as nice presentation was as it looks was just very average taste wise in my opinion. Overpriced for food I could find better elsewhere, service was okay as well. Worth a shot trying but there is better options on the island.

    We decided to come to Brioso on a whim. We called prior to showing up but, they wouldn't take our name. When we arrived It was super packed. The wait was about an hour for a Saturday night. We thought we should stay and try it out. In hind sight, what a Mistake!! When walking in, the bar is to the right with some bar stools and to the left is the dining room. It has a rustic Italian ambience and a wood oven all the way to the back. It was super loud and hard to carry on a conversation. We were able to get a seat at the bar while waiting. We weren't offered a menu for drinks so, we asked about varying wines they have and it seemed the bartender was clueless. The wines we did get were horrible. I ordered a Riesling. I asked for something semi sweet. The one I received was super sweet more like a dessert wine. It was stale and old. Also, we asked for a Merlot again it was Hot, old and funky tasting. Really disappointing for the start of the night. After waiting a while, the people after us started complaining of the waiting and the host I thought forgot about us. I glanced in his way (an older gentleman) and he got an attitude "yea yea I didn't forget" lol. Finally we were seat. We looked at the menu and asked about specials and heard about a filet mignon with two shrimp and veg. Perfect, will have that with a sampler as an app. We waited a while and by this time, we were super hungry and did not receive bread. We asked the wait staff. It's really sad that when it came, it was ice cold like right out of the fridge! Not really appetizing at all! The sampler finally came. Clams, mozz en corroza, stuffed mushrooms and zucchini. Everything was decent nothing really stood out. Nothing tasted super fresh or made ala minute. The flavor was one note and nothing had salt! We were really interested in the steak entree because we saw another patron with this dish. It looked really good. When we received it, the first thing we notice a shrimp was missing!! Umm, where's my second shrimp? Did the waiter eat it on the way to the table? Err.. So, now I have to ask about the missing shrimp.. no dessert!! Luckily two people sat next to us and asked about specials and we listened. The waiter def said two shrimp. So, we quickly called him over and asked. He lied to our faces and said he only said one!! Unbelievable! Well we started eating, although the steak was cooked perfectly, it lacked seasoning and flavor. Same with everything else on the dish. What a disappointment! First to hear something, then to be lied to! I will never come here again not only is the food not well prepared and seasoned, they SCAM their customers to their face! They lack integrity, consistency and professionalism. (272)

    The food was delicious and the staff was attentive and friendly. We sat in their heated tent which was a little chilly but still very comfortable. We had the seafood salad special, the venison ragu special and short rib gnocchi special. Everything was outstanding! I hope this insane state allows them, and others, to reopen indoor dining soon so they can stay in business.

    My bestie Jackie and I have had numerous nights and days out here with family and or friends . The owner is gracious and always gives us a big hello . The waiters are patient and kind and helpful .The bartender makes the best and freshest drinks ! Outstanding ! The food is always fresh , good portions . Yesterday we went there by 430 or so and stayed until closing ! Appetizers great , dinner excellent and a birthday cake with candle and espresso , for me ! Then ordered extra for our kids in separate homes, their requests !!! Place is immaculate and food and service excellent . There is a reason we have intimate dinners here, family dinners , Christmas gatherings . We are regulars and each one of us bring our families for a good night Making a lot of great memories here ! . Love !

    My Fiancé and I had the most delicious meal here last weekend. From the ambiance, to the never ending specials of the night, to there delicious drinks and food. We can not wait to be back. I think pasta is the go to move here but everything was wonderful. Definitely a local hidden gem!

    Wine was fabulous. Dinners took an hour to come out.... my mahi mahi was burned. My husbands seafood/pasta looked like something from a pizza a joint (and tasted that way). I'm a little shocked since this place comes highly recommended and is pricey. Unfortunately will not be returning.

    Love this place. Been going there for years. Peter is from Italy. The food is always good. Its my family's sure bet restaurant. Lol.

In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

We had already gone through the online menu and decided exactly what we wanted. When the waitress finally came over, she told us the burrata and the cappuzelle were sold out. That was incredibly disappointing, especially considering that was the dish I had wanted to try for years and one of the main reasons we came. She left so we could look over the menu again, and the two of us decided to order the branzino. Then we were told they only had one left. At that point it felt ridiculous. We were basically left with only a handful of pasta options and one chicken meal. I honestly do not understand how a restaurant knows exactly how many diners are coming that night, requires prepaid reservations, and is still running out of that much food by 7:00 pm. This was not the end of the night. It wasn't 10:00 pm. It was 7:00 pm. By then I was so frustrated that I told the waitress if I had not prepaid, I would have just left. We ordered the one branzino and made it very clear how disappointed we were. When it finally came, I was almost relieved they didn't have two, because it was impossible to eat. It was served whole, which I understand can have bones, but this was beyond that. It was so full of large and small bones that it was difficult to eat, and there was no effort made to debone it or even guide us through it. But the worst part was that nobody from management even attempted to smooth things over. No apology, no visit to the table, no effort to make it right. It felt like once they had our money, they did not care. I would love to say I loved the place and that I would fight for a reservation again, but I wouldn't. It is completely overhyped, and there are tons of Italian restaurants on Staten Island with better food, better service, and the basic ability to actually serve what is on their menu.

The pizzas were also perfectly crisp on the exterior and very enjoyable, where the pepperoni was also crisped to perfection! Food kept coming to the table that wasn't even ours. We were there to celebrate a birthday the water said " don't worry I'll take care of you without asking what we wanted for dessert- He came over with a platter of leftover hard overcooked zepoles ( if that's what they were ) and 2 SMALL pieces of horrible cake that didn't even serve the amount in our party. As far as the food goes .... I would have rather ordered dominos PLUS - the no personality hostess should find another job - maybe in a back office dealing with paper work and NOT with the public WILL NOT be back ...
