Such a romantic, vintage Italian nook in the north shore of Staten Island. The chef and owner Maximo and his son gave us top notch service. Definitely get reservations we walked in and sat at the bar the place was packed. The menu is extensive so definitely go with people that share. We tried the ricotta cheese with honey and then ordered it again because it was just so good with the crostinis. We also had the calamari, delicious. My friend and I came out of our comfort zone and had the brisket pasta (homemade) and it didn't disappoint. Oh and the pistachio icecream sooo good. I'll see you there, I'm curious to try the rest of the menu.

Dinner at Don Cheech in Rosebank, reputed to have one of the best chicken parms in NYC. We started with their spicy fried calamari. I had the filet of sole Milanese with salad; my friend had the chicken parm (which was excellent) with cavatappi. It's a lovely dining room and the service is very attentive. I will definitively be back. It's a large menu and there's lots to try.

Went to this place for the second time last Friday we're friends. Did not disappoint. Nice menu good food good service very nice vibe. The Bronzino was one of the best I've had broiled with some pesto and brussels sprouts on the side. Everyone enjoyed their food.

Located in Rosebank in a beautiful decorated restaurant. When we walked in we were asked if we had a reservation on a Wednesday night in an empty restaurant. We said no , we were still seated , given the regular menu and a specials menu for the evening. As more patrons came in they were offered the pre fixed menu , which gave a full meal , appetizers, desserts included for one price. We were not offered that menu , which after we saw and heard others with that menu we decided to look to see if that menu was offered online to see what was on it. We saw the menu and realized we would have ordered from there verse the regular menu . Our take away was this was a deceiving restaurant and if you do go here make sure you ask If there are any other offers .

    Truffle pasta. AMAZING.

First off - I want to make it very well known, our waiter Adrien was absolutely amazing. That alone would make us return again and again. Outstanding isn't even enough of a word to describe him.. truly phenomenal, a gem of a person. Secondly, we have only been to Vinum for all of our special occasions the last few years. Since they closed, we celebrated this year at don cheech. The food, as expected, was beyond delicious & portions very generous. There is so much on the menu, I can't wait to come back and try more! Lastly, the ambience of the restaurant and the rest of the staff were bonus' to the already lux experience. Highly recommend, this is what dining should be!!!

9/27/23... As you know I get together quarterly with 2 childhood friends. One buddy has been talking about Don Cheech since our last S.I. visit. For drinks, a couple of espresso martinis was a nice way to get our evening started. Just one for me as it was potent.:) Appetizers- We shared two. That being buffalo mozzarella & Prosciutto plus calamari with cherry peppers. Nice kick on that one. Our entrees were Double cut pork chops, chicken Marsala and veal scaloppino sorrentino. My veal dish was excellent. Dinner portions are pretty large. Our server (Jose) answered all our questions about the menu, including our drinks. Dessert, 2 pistachio gelatos and a strawberry cheesecake which was very light. It's a newer place that has Chef Massimo running the show. Just a note, for dinner you will drop some serious coin. Looks like they have a pretty good outside patio and they offer a weekend brunch. Enjoy

Came here again for dinner and had a great experience! Their food was delicious and it was very nice that the chef came by to check on everyone! Our waiter was great too!

The food here is delicious. Ambiance is strange. Dead sound in dining area. No light music. Left to conversation only for entire experience My dining partner received a hair in her appetizer. It was in the sauce, not the food. Instead of apology, server made an excuse. Totally off base. Brought another full plate to table that wasn't asked for or warranted. Flatbread was very garlicky. Good but wouldn't order again. Carbonara had great flavors, but I believe it sat in window too long and sauce dried up. Poor timing of courses. Ossobuco is one of my favorites and this one delivered. So many restaurants on Staten Island. This one is good, but won't drive out of my way again for it.

The space itself is beautiful, warm, and inviting, and the staff was absolutely amazing attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making the night special from start to finish. The chef and owners were incredibly accommodating, which made such a meaningful celebration feel effortless. We had a banquet-style, family-style feast, and the food was nothing short of impeccable. The spread was abundant and thoughtfully prepared: assorted cold cuts, shrimp, seafood salads, fresh vegetables and salads, tuna tartare, potatoes with mushrooms, crepes filled with chicken and mushrooms, skirt steak, lamb chops and so much more. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. There was truly an abundance of food, and every bite was delicious. We even danced my parents hired a DJ and the atmosphere was filled with joy, love, and celebration. It was one of those nights you don't forget. A wonderful experience all around. Exceptional food, exceptional people, and a perfect place to celebrate something special. Highly, highly recommend.

We chose to dine on the first floor, which has a chic, elegant vibe with beautiful décor and a relaxing ambiance. There was a special set menu for the day, and the selections did not disappoint. I had the Burrata Salad followed by the Branzino--both were fresh and flavorful, and the portions were huge! I couldn't even make a dent in my main dish. My husband enjoyed the crepes and the seafood linguine, and he was just as impressed. The kids' menu was a cute touch, especially with the clever dish names. When I asked my 10-year-old what she was having and she replied, "I don't care," I was caught off guard--until I looked at the menu and saw that "I Don't Care" was actually the name of the mac and cheese! So creative and fun. Drinks were great too--strong and satisfying for my husband, and I was happy to see a solid mocktail selection for non-drinkers like me. The only downside? There were only two dessert options available. I was hoping for a bit more variety, especially since everything else exceeded expectations. Overall, it's a 10/10 experience, and I absolutely can't wait to go back!

I'll start off with that I was able to get one, and I am so glad I did. Theres a warmth of nonnas that's made this one of the most unique dining experiences out there. You can feel the love of nonnas cooking in each dish and the joy it brings them. They have a rotating selection of Nonnas along with their classic Italian menu. The Italian menu had food I've never really had before, all executed so well. I had an entire lambs head (not for the weak), so I got to eat cheek, eye, brain, etc. nonna maria had to come teach us out to cook it but it was a fascinating dish. The rabbit was also fall off the bone which I was just so pleasantly surprised by. It came with potatoes and carrots so it just felt so homey. Nonna Elizabeth was Puerto Rico was the featured chef and she made salted cod fritters, which at first, I was like it sounds interesting, but it was so well seasoned I ended up loving it. Got a pork and rice dish also, and the rice was so fascinating. It had olives in it and the pork was well seasoned. They really make you feel valued and that you're in nonnas kitchen. Everytime you go, you're going to get a different experience with the featured Nonna. For real, try this.

When they finally started using a reservation system, I was excited to finally secure one. I booked a reservation for 4 people, including one person who had been saying for years that she wanted to eat the cappuzelle with me. They also make you prepay on your card, which wound up being part of the problem. When we got there, we were seated for a while before anyone came over. We had already gone through the online menu and decided exactly what we wanted. When the waitress finally came over, she told us the burrata and the cappuzelle were sold out. That was incredibly disappointing, especially considering that was the dish I had wanted to try for years and one of the main reasons we came. She left so we could look over the menu again, and the two of us decided to order the branzino. Then we were told they only had one left. At that point it felt ridiculous. We were basically left with only a handful of pasta options and one chicken meal. I honestly do not understand how a restaurant knows exactly how many diners are coming that night, requires prepaid reservations, and is still running out of that much food by 7:00 pm. This was not the end of the night. It wasn't 10:00 pm. It was 7:00 pm. By then I was so frustrated that I told the waitress if I had not prepaid, I would have just left. We ordered the one branzino and made it very clear how disappointed we were. When it finally came, I was almost relieved they didn't have two, because it was impossible to eat. It was served whole, which I understand can have bones, but this was beyond that. It was so full of large and small bones that it was difficult to eat, and there was no effort made to debone it or even guide us through it. But the worst part was that nobody from management even attempted to smooth things over. No apology, no visit to the table, no effort to make it right. It felt like once they had our money, they did not care. I would love to say I loved the place and that I would fight for a reservation again, but I wouldn't. It is completely overhyped, and there are tons of Italian restaurants on Staten Island with better food, better service, and the basic ability to actually serve what is on their menu.

The sausage and pepper hero was also extremely delicious, where the sausage is not overly salty but still flavorful and paired perfectly with its tangy and savory sauce!
