We hosted our son's christening for 100+ guests at Baci this past weekend, and everything was absolutely incredible. Joe, Theresa, and the entire staff went above and beyond from start to finish. Throughout the planning process and the event itself, they were always present, accessible, and completely hands-on. It's rare to see the owners and event team of a large venue so attentive...almost every detail was anticipated and handled before we even had to ask. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the food, from the flavor to the generous portions- especially the rock shrimp and pastas! I highly recommend Baci whether you're planning a special event or just a night out. This was one of the more disappointing restaurant experiences I've had on Staten Island. The restaurant was nearly empty, which initially gave us pause. We started with the burrata and tomatoes, and the burrata was served warm and had a sour taste that suggested it may not have been fresh. After one bite, we immediately asked the waiter to cancel our pasta and entrée orders. The waiter was gone for about 15 minutes before returning to say it was too late because the entrées had already been prepared. We explained that we had requested the cancellation as soon as we realized the appetizer was not acceptable, but we were still told we would need to pay for both dinners. We were also charged for the burrata, despite our concerns about its quality. We did not eat the entrées, did not take them home, and the food was not even ready when we left. Overall, the food quality was poor, the service was inattentive, and the handling of the billing issue was disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not return or recommend this restaurant. Since the start of the new year, this place has been under new management, and with that came a complete refresh, which includes both the look of the restaurant and the menu. While I appreciate a fresh start, I have to admit I was devastated when I found out my favorite dish, the Angry Lobster, was gone. I know restaurants evolve and menu changes happen, but this wasn't just a few tweaks. To me, it felt like a complete overhaul. Almost all of my go to dishes disappeared, and the menu now offers fewer and some new options. Part of me understands the decision, but another part of me is wondering, why fix what wasn't broken (in regard to food options). Since my favorite dish was no longer an option, I decided to branch out and order the Chicken Baci. It wasn't bad by any means, but it just didn't live up to what I've always loved about Baci. I also tried my friend's Manager's Special pasta. It was good, but it still didn't give me that same "I can't wait to come back" feeling that the Angry Lobster always did. Unfortunately, there isn't anything on the current menu that really compares. Now, if I were rating this place based solely on service, it would be an easy 5 stars. The staff were just as welcoming, attentive and friendly as ever, and they truly made the experience enjoyable. As for the food, I'm sad to say that this restaurant has slipped off my list of favorites for now. Maybe one day they'll bring back the Angry Lobster, and if they do, I might just have a change of heart. That said, I still encourage you to give this place a try. We had a reservation at 5:45pm and we were seated right away. I didnt know where was parking lot I park on the street. They should have a sign say parking. The place was pretty big and have seats. There were a lot of people there at the bar. If you didn't make reservation I don't think you will get a seat right away. The staff and services was great. Place was decorated beautifully for Valentine's Day and at the end of the night they handed out roses to the women, that was such a beautiful touch. Food was delicious. I can't wait to go back again. All I can say is outstanding! We had an early dinner last night and after trying each dish, we kept repeating that we must return. My Aperol Spritz was so refreshing. You must try the long hots, they stuff them with delicate pieces of scrumptious sausage. Another must is the watermelon salad. Get ready for an amazing combination of savory/sweet in every bite. I typically order Baci for pick-up or delivery. We order the same thing every time, the Angry Lobster. It's spicy and has a good amount of seafood. It seems like there is a pound of pasta in this dish and it's so good you don't want to stop eating it. The night we dined in the bartender was great (we ate at the bar because we didn't have reservations) service was okay, other than the happy bartender. The one waitess seemed annoyed anytime we asked her a question. The ambiance was beautiful. They were decorated for the holidays and had a large Christmas tree in the dining area. read more

Pieces of plastic were fried along with the calamari. Was eating a piece until i felt something incredibly strong and unchewable. At first i thought it was just a shrimp shell that snuck into the fryer but after I spit it out and cleaned it off, this was what i discovered. I scoured through the bowl just incase and found another piece as well. I drive past this restaurant numerous times on my route at work and it always smells great outside and the ambiance looks nice so I figured i would order in on a night i was too tired to cook and definitely expected better than this. I enjoyed my time there for sure. The staff was friendly and prompt, the decor is cute, and the food was great!!! We ordered the ricotta stuffed squash blossoms to start and they were so flavorful and so delicate. I wish the batter was thinner but still tasted amaaazing. We also got some of the baked oysters and they were tasty as well. My one gripe is that the spaghetti with the seafood had so many broken clam pieces. It's more than usual so every other bite I was crunching on a broken shell. It was unfortunate because I loved how it tasted. read more

TERRIBLE customer service We went for dinner tonight but I didn't want to go. It's a Friday evening and the end of a long, tiring work week. The restaurant is notoriously loud. Between the noise of traffic on Richmond Road, and the music in the restaurant it was the last place I wanted to spend a Friday evening. It's a beautiful restaurant. Someone puts a lot of care into decorating it and making it look nice, but for some strange reason they play club music....obnoxiously loud, club music, while you're trying to have dinner. It's not the playlist you'd expect at a nice Italian restaurant. We had a gift card for $100.00 and my wife (who likes the truffle pasta) convinced me that if we went early, the music would probably not be so loud. We got there at about 5:30pm, and she was wrong. As usual, the music was loud and obnoxious. We finished our meal, I requested the check and placed the gift card along with the balance difference in cash in the check binder. We exited the restaurant and while we waited to cross the street, the waiter met us outside to say there was a problem with the gift card. We made our way back into the restaurant when a woman met us at the door and angrily stated," There's no money on this gift card!" I turned to my wife and asked if she had the gift card receipt and she retrieved it from the table where we were seated and handed it to the angry woman. We waited by the bar while the angry woman went over to her computer to search information on the gift card receipt. After a few minutes, she looked over at us and said, "forget it, it went through." No apology, no remorse for her behavior. I shook my head at her and told her it was terrible what she had done. I told her she embarrassed us and could do better. She said, "well, it happens," and dismissed my disapproval of her behavior. The good news is, she pissed my wife off, so I never have to go there again. Thank God for small miracles. read more

We ordered a Baci salad, sorry no pics! But it was lightly dressed and fresh. We then ordered mussels in white wine followed by linguine in white clam sauce. Been back a few times with Family and Friends and the good is outstanding. They can get a little busy on the weekends so you might need to be a little patient. I'm ok with this as long as my food is hot when we get it. Saturday night they have a DJ and was a little loud a few months ago, thankfully they have turned volume down and are playing much better music. My go too meal has been the Veal Chop Soltombucco. I aske them to pound the veal chop on bone out and make it that way Or Marsala. This is enough for 2-3 people the veal chop is huge. I've also had the Angry lobster in white sauce, WOW fantastic over linguine. Food has always been great but at times service is slow. But definitely a go to restaurant. Went in on a Monday night for 8 pm. We were immediately seated and provided with all of the menus. I think the flooring and central tree are really nice but the writing on the mirrors doesn't match in my opinion. Most importantly the food was fantastic. To start off we had the fried calamari and baked clams. The calamari was as expected, the clams were absolutely delicious. For my main I had the special Cacio E Pepe that was made table-side, it was absolutely delicious. I haven't had pasta that good from a restaurant in awhile. My boyfriend had the chicken parmesan which came in a huge portion, he thought it was great as well. I recommend Baci if you are looking for a party vibe/atmosphere, and somewhere to dress classy/fancy/boujee. Baci is that place. Now to me, it was personally too loud, I had to scream for people to hear me. But if you prefer music blasting at a restaurant, come to Baci. I can testify that my meal was delicious and everyone at my table enjoyed the food/drinks. As I person with style, and house crazy cause of COVID, I enjoyed being at a fancy venue. However it was just loud, I had a difficult time hearing people. It's possible that wasn't communicating the proper way. I was communicating the "old fashioned" way with my voice and looking at people when I talk to them instead of texting the people sitting across from me. I need to get with the times. read more

Came in on a rainy Thursday night where the owner opened the door for us. There were only a few tables being used. We ordered drinks and apps. I ordered the rainbow martini and my friend ordered the coconut and pineapple martini. The drinks came out very fast. We both liked our drinks. They were very well balanced. They came out with bread and oil with herbs to dip. While my friend was enjoying the bread a man rolled over a table with some objects. We were both wondering what he was doing til we realized he was hand making our salted mozzarella! I thought it was so nice. The tapas that comes with it taste so good. A mix of salty, sweet, and acid. For apps we got meatballs and pasta fagioli. The meatballs are on the soft side and have a strong cheese in them. I wouldn't get them again. My friend said the pasta was good but the portion was big for an app. I ordered the gluten free penne ala vodka and he got the chicken Parm with french fries. Both of our entrees came out hot. His chicken Parm came with two big chicken cutlets and comes with a potato croquet. A meal for two people. He said he liked it. My penne pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was good but I wish it had more sauce on it. They had gluten free carrot cake that I took to go. It's not made it house. It was alittle dry but the cream cheese frosting helped. The waiter checked on us several times. Anytime I asked for something he got it swiftly. All the food came out hot and didn't take long. The first Baci is located in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, parking is a little easier on Staten Island. Large roof top covered outdoor dinning space available with a very effective heating system. Indoor dining room is open, keeping distance between each table. The interior space has a contemporary Italian bistro feel, with large windows, letting lots of day light into space. Beautiful tile with metallic finishes. Windows were designed to open the interior space to the outdoors. During the warmer weather sidewalk tables are also available. Service was impeccable, Mostafa was most attentive and provided our family dinner with prompt food courses and plenty of spicy jalapeño margs pouring. Fresh focaccia bread and eggplant caponata was served as soon as you sat down. The first course was burrata and cold antipasto. A large portion of freshly sliced Italians meats and delicious chunks of hard cheese- balsamic and oil on the side . A large burrata served with red peppers looked and greens. I had a delicious well rolled braciole with home made gnocchi and tomato Sunday sauce. Bread is necessary to dip you plate clean !! Dessert was shared bread pudding, yum and pistachio tartufo. Being fair and honest I would rate Baci overall with zero stars if I could. The food and bartender/waiter service we both excellent, 4/5 stars. The 1-star review is solely based on the management, particularly who I would guess is the owner. I was enjoying dinner at Baci for my wife's birthday party. We had made a reservation at 7PM and when we arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 we were told which table we would be sitting at but were directed to the bar as the table was not ready yet. Around 7:15 we inquired about our table and we're told it would be ready soon. At 7:45 as we were still not seated we inquired again and we were told that one of the managers had given our table away and we were asked not to make a scene and that we would be "made right". At the end of the night when we received our non-itemized bill and started to inquire into what was being charged we noticed that nothing was "made right" and when we asked our waiter and pointed out who had given the table away and made us the promise we're told "that guy is a nobody". After approaching the other manger who was looking how to make our evening right and that she "didn't want for us to leave unhappy" another gentleman who I assume was the owner joined out conversation, and quickly shut down the female manager and as he walked away he grabbed and yanked the woman's arm and pulled her away from us. read more

We made a reservation days in advance because we heard how long it takes to get seated because it is so new. Our reservation was for 8 o'clock we were seated til an hour later. It was extremely annoying to have the hostesses tell us "just a few more minutes" and see tables leave and have people be seated ahead of us. While the initial interaction was less than satisfactory the quality and taste of the food was incredible. We started off with the pear salad-- it was amazing. The cheese was the best part. Then I ordered the Baci pasta and ohhhh myyyyy it was so good. It really sounds like such a weird combination but somehow it all works together and has to be one of the best pastas I've had. Amazing. I will definitely order it again (probably to go since I don't think I could wait for a table for that long again). Overall, I'd rate this place 4 stars because of the food regardless of the wait. I have been meaning to check out Baci which is pretty new to Staten Island. I was invited for a friends birthday so it was a perfect opportunity. There was a large group for this occasion so we were offered the family style menu. The calamari are probably the best I've ever tasted. They were so well seasoned and tasty. We had so much food on the table it was great. The Orecchiette Broccoli Rabe & Sausage were amazing. Overall the options were good for family style. The vibe is fantastic and the music as well. Had reservations on a Saturday night for 10. We sat at a nice round table which was great because we like to converse with everyon. Well at I believe around 8 o'clock they bring a DJ into main dining room and that was it. it was like a club instead of restaurant. Totally ruined our night. Place is more popular now and they can't seem to handle it. Service is very slow and they are pretty bad at getting you seated in time even with reservations. Ambiance also changed, play the music way too loud now which didnt used to be the case. Also always have weird choices on the TVs. Decor is pretty nice Food and Drinks: Food is hit or miss. The veal and chicken dishes I've had were very good. Zucchini flowers are delicious. Bread is good. Their pasta dishes tend not to be great and lacking in flavor. Drinks are pretty good but come out so slow it seems they hate money. We had reservations for 8 and we didn't get seated till about 8:15. The music was so excruciatingly loud. I guess this is a popping place to be on a Saturday night for Staten Island people. The food was nothing special had no flavor to it. The waiter was nice but was too busy to be personable. Our entree took about 40 mins to come out. Idk why on earth anyone would wait for a table at this place. There was about 20 people hanging outside as we were eating just smoking and mingling. Basically put a dining table in the middle of DJS and you have baci .. no desire to return . Just have to add.. we paid with a credit card and left a $40 tip and we come to find the waiter apparently decided to give himself a $113 tip instead.
