Having been to this restaurant before the food and service is good. My husband and I had an enjoyable dinner until the end of our meal. Noticing that everyone around us with the exception of us, was offered an "after dinner drink" on the house. We both had a martini cocktail at the table before ordering appetizers and entrees which totaled $218.00. We both had no problem with the tab but my problem was not being offered what everyone around us was offered, which made both of us feel out of place. We frequent many restaurants and whether you are a regular or a new customer the same treatment of appreciation is shown to all tables. Not at this restaurant. Totally dissapointing. Needless to say we will not be returning to this venue, there are other restaurants that show their appreciation for your business. My advice is "show all" or "none". read more

We really wanted to like this restaurant as it was clean and decorated beautifully. Upon entering the restaurant, it was bright and welcoming, though the tables did have numbers so we had to ask if there was an event planned for later in the day. The staff was mostly attentive. The main waiter was a bit of a snob. We came here as the restaurant we originally planned on visiting was not yet open and we were crunched on time. We came for lunch, and when we arrived, we were the only customers. They were quick to bring out bread and waters. We ordered: spaghetti carbonara, gamberoni with tomato sauce, and the branzino special. We also shared a tiramisu and 1 cappuccino later. I have to say for a Sunday lunch this was super expensive!!! We paid $165 for this meal. The branzino was $47!!! Wow. It's typically around $30-$40 at other places so this was really surprising. The sauce was also not as flavorful as other iterations of this dish at other restaurants. Even ordering this, the waiter made us feel like we weren't ordering enough. One thing I was really disappointed about was the carbonara. I was expecting an Italian style carbonara and this was not it. This carbonara was American style drenched in cream and not using panchetta. I was sad to eat this as it was also not well seasoned. At $30, I was disappointed in this pasta. Aside from the fact they were providing a free meal for my girlfriend's aunt and her company over Christmas, the food was outstanding and my girlfriend, when she picked it up, said the restaurant had a great look and atmosphere. We would definitely want to patronize this business as paying customers! Italianissimo provided--free, mind you--TWO trays of each the following: - mussels - chicken francaise - penne pasta in marinara sauce with homemade Italian meat balls - fresh quartered tomatoes with shaved ham - two loaves of wonderful fresh-restaurant-baked Italian bread All was yummy, fresh, and outstanding. I walked to this restaurants after discovering that the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed. However, I was more than pleased with this place. The ambiance was just gorgeous! The Easter design was also super cute. They serve you roasted garlic and pizza bread which was so fun to eat and it was my first time trying something like that but nevertheless very impressed in general. I ordered a penne Al vodka and it was delicious, one of the best in NY for sure. The prices are extremely reasonable and absolutely worth every single penny. I tried an Italian cheesecake with ricotta cheese for the first time and it was delicious. My Italian friend said that it was very authentic as well. Amazing experience from owner Franco and his entire staff. I hosted a private event with a live speaker and Franco helped create a great experience. The food was delicious, franco pre selected different appetizers, wine, and pasta for the table allowing the guest to focus on the presentation. Haven't been to Italianissimo in a long while. So went for an early dinner. I started off with Panzerotti and Zucchini-Good. My wife had the Shrimp Oreganata-Very Good/Excellent. She then had Linguine with Mussels in a Red Sauce-Very Good/Excellent. I had Ravioli-Very Good. Her main course was the Pork Chop with Red Sauce and Mushrooms and Onions-Very Good. I had the Veal Parmigiana with Spaghetti-Good. For Dessert She had Pistachio Ice Cream-Very Good/Excellent. I had the Italian Cheese Cake-Good/Very Good. Prices are very reasonable for the fixed price menu. Seating was comfortable, and Service was Very Good/Excellent. There is a small lot for parking in front of the restaurant. Last night my husband and I had a reservation at Italianissimo. We had dined there years ago but not recently. We were planning to check out the restaurant for our family who are looking for a restaurant for a big family dinner. We arrived, parked our car and walked into the restaurant. We passed the coatcheck and told the girl working there we did not want to check our coats. I had a very small wallet clutch. In my hip length jacket pockets I had stored my phone and important medication which I need to take at 7 PM. For these reasons I did not choose to check my jacket. When we went through the door the host stopped and told us to check our jackets. He said there was no room for wait staff with jackets at our seats. The way he approached us was with a very rude non caring attitude. After this my husband said to me should we go elsewhere? The host rudely interrupted our conversation and said yes I would be happy if you go somewhere else. Yes we went elsewhere and enjoyed a fantastic Italian dinner. There are too many wonderful restaurants in the area to have to be treated like the way we were, do yourself a favor and skip Italianissimo. Go to either Bocelli's Cielo, Nino's, Basilio, Da Noi, Esca's or go to New Dorp and have a great meal at Brioso! You can be sure my family party will not be at Italianissimo! read more

Great Italian restaurant! Came here while conducting training at Ft. Wadsworth. Decor is very vintage. I was looking for a lite lunch and got the Ahi tuna Apple skewers, excellent choice. The food was full of flavors and spices. My friend had the gnocchi with tomato and pesto. He enjoyed the sauce the most. The service was also very helpful and prompt. Not sure about dinner, but I'd definitely recommend this place for lunch. read more

Ive eaten in this restaurant multiple times and the food is always delicious but on 2 occasions the service was very poor. Today was one of those days. My party of 4 were first to arrive at lunch. A few other tables started to fill. We had some drinks and it took another 15 minutes to place our food order. We had one appetizer for the table that arrived after another 15 minutes and then we waited another 40 minutes for our entree's, while other tables got there food . Our orders were simple steak and ravioli. And my entree came without the roasted potatoes that were listed on the menu. They did bring them after we all finished our food. I ordered toward the end of the night and I'm guessing they were getting rid of some of their left over bread or baked goods because they added some little extras to my order and it was a wonderful surprise. 5 stars for the amazing food and the impeccable customer service! The night started off with a super friendly and professional hostess who quickly sat us down, despite not having reservations. We started off with fried calamari and a hot antipasto, which were both delicious! For our second course, we ordered the branzino special and the steak special (comes with sides) which were also both tasteful and ridiculously fresh! Throughout the night, we were constantly asked by the hostess if everything was fine, which was wonderful (you don't see that too often)! And the waiters were quite attentive. As a whole, the restaurant followed all the necessary precautionary guidelines for COVID-19. Everyone who works there, from the hostess to Tomas (I think that's his name), were all so helpful and caring, which ultimately made our dining experience even better! Italianissimo is one of my favorite Italian restaurants on Staten Island. My family has been coming here for years whether it was for a special occasion dinner or hosting someone's baby shower, bridal shower, engagement party, graduation party, etc. Yes, my family has hosted each of those parties here. Their food is amazing. Instead of sending out bread at the beginning, they start you off with their "pizza type bread" so good. Penne alla vodka is good, their fruitte de mare. You really can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Oh and their chocolate martinis and expresso martinis are AH-MAZING! read more

When you look at the store front of this restaurant, you would not think it is so big inside. The parking lot is very small but no worries as it is valeted. We had reservations and were seated promptly even though we were early. The food took a very long time to come out, but they were very busy that night. I ordered a pasta in a 4 cheese sauce and my Fiance ordered Penne in Vodka sauce. My dish was delicious and exceptionally rich (too rich for me.) We split a chocolate mousse cake which was also delicious. Definitely try this place out if you want good Italian food. My personal belief however is that they are overpriced for their food options and the location of this establishment. read more

About 5 inches long, the granddaughter had baked clams ( 4 little necks). It was totally pathetic and a complete waste of $60 per person. We were hoping for at least a meal But we got appetizers. To be honest, I went there with my office for our annual Christmas party and it wasn't all that good. Entrées took so long to come out and so did the desserts. I ordered the salmon and it was very dry. Wouldn't get it again. We ordered the family-style appetizers that was pretty good. The stuffed mushrooms they serve are in a parmesan style those were ok never had them like that before. I tried a piece of filet mignon that was amazing ! So soft and tender. As good as it gets is the right description for this restaurant. I was a regular here years back and I am delighted that the quality has not fallen. If you are looking for great food and presentation, this is definitely a place to eat. The pasta is always al dente, and veggies are cooked to your specifications. My favorite main courses are the soft shell crabs and their fillet mignon, both are divine. They offer great after dinner wines, that leaves your taste buds in a dreamy taste. The waiters will pamper you!!! I always favor their Tira Misu over all others, and I have been all over the globe. I must say you should be prepared to pay for the quality though. read more

Came here with a party of 3 tonight. Followed the table and went with the pre-fixe menu. The regular menu as well as the specials sounded very good. Our server was an absolute gentleman that knew the menu forward and backward. Started with the stuffed clams followed by the butternut squash and the veal marsala. Our server recommended a bottle of merlot that was delicious. Ordered a follow up bottle to make sure ;)...Portions were very nice for a pre-fixe menu and definitely very tasty.
