amazing!! clam pie and a blue moon beer priceless! love this place, have been going there for years!

True Score: 4.25 Stars Probably the best bar old school place in Staten Island. Lees Tavern is a bar pizza joint in Staten Island. It's off the beaten path but worth a visit. The pizza was fresh and delicious with a crisp crust. The food is served by the nicest, friendliest people. We visited here on a recommendation from a friend and were very pleased we did. The pizza was delicious (the best we've had on our trip) the atmosphere is warm, and the team are really friendly. It feels like a proper bar with personality unlike much of New York. If you're a tourist getting the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, rather than getting straight back on, take a break to come here instead, you won't be disappointed. Wait, I need to enhance my earlier comment. This is the best family dive bar on the island. I true classic. A must stop. Thanks read more

A casual pub with good food. The standouts for us were the buffalo calamari and stuffed artichoke hearts. We thought the clam pizza was good but just ok - was more like cheesy bread with clams on it. Also note this place is CASH ONLY! read more

Cute neighborhood bar with standard bar food which is pretty good. Lots of tv's for the sports enthusiasts. They are known for their white clam pie but I was in a mood for sauce. You're able to get half red and half white. I have to say the white was def better. The red sauce on the other half was a little overbearing. Buffalo calamari. Was very good but super spicy! Scungilli with medium sauce was very good but served with sliced Italian bread and not a biscuit Salad was very good. Good service. A parking lot across the street. read more

This corner Italian bar & grill is the cat's pajamas for old time New York neighborhood watering hole dive bars on Staten Island. Third generation, the bar room is darkly lit with tintype ceiling and wood/mirrored back bar. It has atmosphere up the wazoo! Even better, their thin crust pizza is terrific and well worth the drive from Bucks County, PA, as the dinner stop after exploration of local beaches and Fort Wadsworth. Their signature White Clam Pie is terrific. Crisp crust. Mild clam flavor mixed with melted mozza was surprisingly delicious for this first timer. Our pie was half regular tomato/cheese, which was a great counterpoint to the diced clams. We also ordered a half platter of Fried Calamari with medium spice red dipping sauce. Very nice as an appetizer. Service was provided by family and friends of the owners. At the end we met Momma Lee, who described the fifty plus years of close family involvement in the enterprise. It felt so cozy that we thought of hanging around longer to absorb more of whatever Lee's Tavern was putting out. But, they needed to turnover tables for folks waiting by the front door, so we paid and told ourselves we would be back for more. 5 Generational Stars read more

Lee's Tavern - I ordered a ceasar salad I didn't ask for black olives or red onion. They gave me old brown lettuce. I waited over 15 mins for a disaster. - Pizza Near Me - Staten Island, New York

If you're looking for a neighborhood bar ambience this is your place. If you looking for a good food stay away. We ordered pizza and let me tell you something: a frozen pizza from ShopRite has more character than the pizzas we were served. It was bland it didn't have any taste that even resembles a pizza. read more

As a native son of the Isle of Staten, County of Richmond, this is in my top two for the area. It's thin, but not too thin, the sauce is deliciously fresh, and the sauce to cheese ratio is perfect for my liking. The regular food is good too, the sandwiches in particular. I also recommend the fried calamari. It's crisp and fresh, and the dipping sauce is thick enough that it isn't your normal marinara, so it doesn't just slide off into oblivion. Where this spot really wins out is the FEEL. The ambiance, the service, the people, and the area lack any pretension whatsoever. When you show up more than once, they remember you, your kids names, and where you went to High School. Prices are super reasonable, and the location near the train is super convenient. Cash only (as all the legit spots in these parts are). Prepare accordingly. ATM in the back if you don't, so no worries. read more

I really love older style buildings and business but that's where it ends as far as my experience with Lee's Tavern. It's small maybe to small, it's incredibly hard to have a conversation because of the loud music interjected with strangely inserted blasts of rap music and the general acoustics are bad . The pasta and meat balls was terrible, it took way to long and arrived cold and the meatballs were dried out . Very disappointing. read more

If you want delicious pizza with a friendly ambiance then definitely check out this spot. Everytime I come to the Island I stop by

Cute neighborhood bar, known for the white crab pizza. The pizza is made fresh and has a nice thin crust. I had the white clam and it was a great choice, not fishy, just a nice clam flavor. My boyfriend had the chicken and hot pepper pizza, he really enjoyed it. I love the bar sized pizza, it's a perfect sized personal pan. We started with the Buffalo calamari, ehhh it was good bar food, nothing extraordinary. I like this place for what it is, it's my second time here and I would go back. Quick review. I haven't been to Lee's since moving off Staten Island nine years ago. The interior hasn't changed at all which is great. It has retained its nice neighborhood feel. The pizza here is some of the best you'll get on Staten Island. I gave my fellow traveler the options for several places and he chose here because of the bar pie option. I've never had the buffalo "galamad" (calamari) before and it was great. I was craving a clam pie which you can't get anywhere where I live now. It was delicious. My friend enjoyed his very much as well. The waitress was attentive and stopped by regularly to ask if we needed anything. It's cash only here so have the greenbacks when you come. Street parking can be difficult on weekends but on Wednesday at 1230, no problem. read more

When I was obsessed with Denino's pizza, a friend's girlfriend (at the time) said "No. Lee's Tavern"...didnt listen or care...then something changed at Denino's and I gave Lee's a try... This is the best pizza I ever ate and it is the best atmosphere ever for a 5* restaurant!!! Tonight we got clamaro, very good, not the best but excellent, and the best... 1 Pizza with artichoke, sweet pepper and pesto, and 1 Pizza with meatball, pepperoni, onion and mushroom In this crust I trust!! read more

Friendly staff and was crowded on an early Wednesday afternoon, which was a good sign. But I only found the pizza to be decent and not great. Not seeing the hype with this place's pizza. I think the bar setting is the main appeal here, because the pizza was just average thin crust style. Maybe I just prefer thicker crusted pizzas but this one did not blow me away. That said, I would be willing to try the other food this place has in the future. read more

The place doesn't even have a sign on the building...that is how legendary it is. The white clam pie is the thing to get and I like how they have a bar size (small) and a large. $10 for the bar size is a great price too. The pizza was light and crust had a nice crust to it. Good amount of clams and a solid balance of flavor. So good. I will be back to try other stuff on the menu. A place that feels like home - seems like there's some history in those walls for sure. The bar was completely filled when we came on a Sunday afternoon (locals, I'm sure). The service was quick and friendly. Got some classics: fried calamari and some pizza. Calamari was not chewy AT ALL and the medium sauce was just ever so spicy. Excellent. The pizza is that nice cracker style crust with a plum tomato sauce. Also excellent. A staple to the area. There's no sign on the outside and it looks like it's falling apart in the outside - but it adds some charm. Loved it. Cash only FYI. read more
