Delicious food! My friends and I came here for the Bachelor finale on a Monday night and they had it on all the tvs plus a large projector in the back room which was great! PROS: 1. Best mozzarella sticks I've ever had, each stick had a nice thick piece of mozzarella, they were crispy, marinara dipping sauce was tasty as well 2. Delicious chicken tenders, classic diner style, wide and flat pieces of chicken, crispy, just how I like em! 3. Large projector screen in the back room with speakers, we had no problem seeing or hearing the Bachelor! CONS: 1. The service was pretty slow, it seemed like there was only one server there who was also the bartender but since this was on a Monday night, it's probably not usually as busy as it was when I went Besides the food I mentioned, we also had the garlic/butter pretzel with beer cheese and mustard which I enjoyed but the rest of my group found that the cheese was weird and not typical beer cheese. We also got Mac and cheese balls which I didn't try so can't comment and for dessert we had the smores brownie which was basic, I probably wouldn't get it again. Don't usually hang out here but was home for darts . It's a cool place to hang and grab a bite . The dart board area is kinda in a tent like building and the boards aren't even as the floor is uneven. Seems your throwing uphill . The food was very good as we had wings and a lasagna. They're chef is very good. And a friend of mine had these egg roll appetizers which I think he had a few of . Said they were very good. Close to the train station and municipal parking next door. For my first time at Flanagans tavern we had an assortment of appetizers such as the chicken tenders, beer cheese pretzels, mozzarella sticks, & Mac n cheese bites. The mozzarella sticks were my favorite!!! I didn't like the beer cheese that was given with the pretzel. Didn't really taste like beer cheese to me, although the pretzel was absolutely delicious and they also give a mustard cup for dipping! Both desserts- the s'mores brownie with ice cream and the fried Oreos were phenomenal!!!!! I came here because the tavern was hosting a "watch party" night for the bachelor finale (my favorite show). I really liked how they had multiple TVs all over the 2 rooms and that they had a projector as well. In every part of the tavern you were able to see and hear the show. I felt really bad that there was one person who was catering to people at the bar and table seating. I don't know if this is how it always is here but I felt so terrible for the worker even though he was so polite and kind. Great customer service from him! Although the ordering process took a while I give him a lot of credit. I also didn't like how the food took forever, for the appetizers they took 40 mins to arrive. The tavern was not crowded for appetizers to take 40 mins. Overall it is a cute "hole in the wall" type of bar with pretty chill vibes and tons of TV's probably good for sports watching. Came here for darts. Public parking in the back, but you can find street parking. As soon as you enter the bar is boom right there. Lots of TVs for sports and the dart boards are located on what feels like you're outside but covered. You're def shooting on a slant which makes it tougher to play. I used Door Dash to do my first order from Flanagan's last night because my husband and I were really in the mood for steaks. I got him the prime rib dinner with mashed potatoes and the steak was below par. It was chewy and really cheap tasting - something you would expect if you ordered a steak dinner at a Pizza Hut. His mashed potatoes were watery, lumpy, and drowning in chives - they should have called it "I stepped on a potato soup." I ordered the steak tip salad. The salad portion was good; the vegetables were clean and fresh. The steak was better than my husband's, but whatever sauce they kept it in was so incredibly salty that I needed a bottle of water to get through it. I always order wings from a new place because you can judge a lot by the wings. I got the bone-in 10 piece wings with Jameson Honey sauce. Absolutely gross. The sauce tasted like sticky leather salt, and they didn't even include any blue cheese. We each ate a wing and dumped the rest. I got my daughter sliders and fries. The sliders were barely cooked at all. I had to put them back in the pan before I could serve them to her. I also got the pretzels. They were wet, salty, and the side sauces tasted like what I imagine the Bog of Eternal Stench would taste like from Labyrinth. Between tip and ordering, I spent over $100 for garbage. read more

Then, onto the burgers, ordered the Irish burger and the wife ordered the Flanagan's burger, at medium, and again, phenomenal! I had never at this establishment because I wasn't from around here nor did we live close, until now. We're within walking distance and i gotta say, seems to me like, anything on the menu will be 100 times better than any of these fast food places! I've had a pleasant experience at Flanagan's. It's not too loud. I know I can come here and drink with some friends. It's not overly crowded so I never feel claustrophobic. I always get a seat at the bar for me and my boyfriend. We've ordered a couple of appetizers off the menu. My favorite is the Mac and cheese balls. It's very good. Also the bar has just a lot of different options. Sometimes other bars don't have the liquor I'm looking for. Thankfully Flanagans always has my 43 drink. read more

full disclosure, I've never stepped foot in this restaurant. I started eating food from this place during the pandemic by ordering delivery, while on a hunt to find a good burger in the area. I've had others, and there's some that are fine nearby, but I'm going to be fully honest: nobody touches this place. these genuinely might be the best burgers I've had on staten island. maybe anywhere in New York City. I've never been disappointed by the burgers here. they're cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and the toppings are perfect. I've had the J-9 numerous times and it's excellent and recently I've been ordering the Irish Prime Rib burger and I'm stunned by it. appetizer-wise, the pigs in blankets are fantastic and the pretzels are spot on. if you're on the lookout for a great burger, this is the place you've been hunting for. give them a try. read more

We really like coming here (and come pretty often) when the owner is there but last night we had the strangest service ever. Not sure if the bartender is new or if we just have never seen her but her service was unprofessional. Have no issue being ID'd but she was checking them with a laser for an uncomfortable amount of time before bringing my bf's out of state license over to some other customer at the bar to ask if it was legit. Weird but shrugged it off. Then, she told my boyfriend she needed to take his card (even though he was paying cash) as some kind of liability protocol. Never had this happen before at Flanagans or anywhere else. After all that she didnt even count the money before returning his card. We also had to flag her down to ask for stuff even though there were only three other guys in there and a small group of ladies that left shortly after we got our food. She looked bothered by us and we got the vibe she thought we couldn't pay for our food. Heard she's there Thursday-Sunday so next time we'll come early in the week. Great Kills has a new jewel. What a great makeover! Both the food and interior has changed since it was the former McGinn's. What a beautiful transformation. Both have changed for the better. We ordered takeout for Valentines Day and it was perfect. We both got the prime rib dinner with mash potatoes and it was delicious! The potatoes were chunky and smooth at the same time which I like. They gave us a lot of au jus. We also ordered the Irish egg rolls which we always get because they are so yummy. Came with plenty of spicy mustard. Will definitely order again. read more

Wondered in last night on the motorcycles for a drink with a buddy around 12am was kind of dead but didn't mind at all ! It's the summer and everyone's at the shore. The old McGinn's Bar in Great Kills. The bar area has been redone, it's comfortable w/ more seating. The owner Scott and his staff were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a J-9 Burger, which was Stuffed with Bacon, Topped with Cheddar and Mozzarella Cheese and was very good along w/ great sweet potato fries. Local bands play on the weekends. Flanagan's is a Great Local Bar, That I'm lucky enough to be able to walk home from if I have too. read more

This is an average rating of 5 for the bar and a 0 for my experience in the restaurant part...rounded up because of math. Went there on a Friday night, we were the only table in the dining area. Ordered Mozzarella sticks as an app, a Burger and Fish and Chips as our dinner. We then had to wait 40 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge the fact that our app never came out, it apparently went to one of the 2 bar tables. Maybe if we had been drinking more alcohol we would have had better service but once she realized the mistake they came out quickly. Unfortunately that meant our meal would soon be coming which were both inedible. The burger was overly salted and came with a comically over sized bun. The burger was home made which was a nice change from the usual meat disks that you are usually served in a bar but execution failed. My wife barely touched her fish since they were breaded mush in fish form. Overall we were pretty disappointed with the dinner part of our stay. We were meeting people so even though we had a rough start there the night was totally redeemed at the bar. The bar was a very good size and since they moved it it makes much more sense for the space and the bartenders were on the ball all night plus the crowd was older so there was a certain lack of riff raff which always leads to a pleasurable night. Weekends they seem to have bands which is not something I can get into in such small spaces but this night the band was great playing music from across decades and the crowd seemed to enjoy them so an added bonus. I will definitely be going back, but I will probably stick to the bar read more

This is a decent place to watch a game. They offer plenty of beer and food specials during the game. Try the Mac and Cheese bites - they are amazing. The burger was okay - a little overcooked but not terrible. The steak fries were delicious. The service is pretty good - much better than other bars I've been to on Staten Island. Our waitress was pleasant and very attentive. When I stopped in last night, there wasn't a huge crowd but that's because of some fight (I'm assuming UFC) on Pay Per View. I'm not into fights - I like the Rangers and the Yankees so with that, I lucked out because both games were on their TVs. Speaking of TVs, they have a 100 inch screen in their dining room. Place is open but can't handle the business because all the lady behind the counter does is complain non stop about all of the customers. Not one employee has a mask or gloves on & on top of that they have customers sitting at the bar without a mask having a few beers. I was told take out was 45 minutes I showed up after an hour & still had to wait an additional 30 minutes. They're way to overwhelmed for no reason they have an employee just standing there texting without a care in the world while the lady non stop yells back & forth with the "chef" in the back & on top of everything my medium well burger miraculously bled thru the seemingly 2 week old bun that it was served on. Never, ever go here!!! Went on a Monday night due to the website listing $6 appetizers and .50 wings. While looking at the menu we noticed that this deal was also in effect for Rangers games. The food came out subpar but for .50 I wasn't complaining. After we finished we received the check for $60. By their advertisement it should have been $26. We asked the waitress why it was so much and she said, " you got here before the game started (NFL) and the hockey game is pre season." None of this is listed on the menu or website. Went there with a Groupon and wasn't sure what I was walking into. Food was fantastic! We waited a long time for it but it was cooked fresh and made to order. The potato soup was unbelievably good (probably 1000 calories) and the steak tips over the salad was also great. The owner is a great guy, retired NYPD and treats everyone like family. The bartenders and waitresses were all very sweet and accommodating to my group of around 15. No heat in the winter, barely parking available burnt burgers no coleslaw as indicated on the menu. No waitress in sight to complain. Had to hunt down to get the check. Without the groupon - a plain cheeseburger with Fries $13, Hidden bacon on the other cheeseburger with fries and 2 sodas for a whopping $30. Both burgers burnt to a crisp. Inedible.
