But it was rather busy on a week day and the one server they had was running around so much he never checked back in on us after delivering the food, not even to get us the check. Duffy's was one of our regular spots when we lived around the corner. We were on Staten Island this weekend and I had some free solo time and stopped in for lunch. My wife was at a baby shower, my son was hanging out with his friends. Duffy's is your typical neighborhood bar / tavern. It's been here forever. The beer is cold, the drinks strong and the food consistently good. They brag that they have the island's best burgers (debatable) but, they are really really good. I ordered off the Saturday special menu. A cup of New England Clam Chowder and the Cowboy Burger hit the spot on a rainy dreary day yesterday. The burger was delicious and cooked to order. Great dive bar! I think we were the only people at the bar that didn't know everyone else who came in. We were treated nicely by a friendly bartender. They are famous locally for their burger and it's no wonder. I had a provolone and bacon burger served on an English muffin and cooked to medium perfection. Wifey had a delicious chicken sandwich and we shared perfectly cooked onion rings. They had a half dozen beers on tap. This is my favorite bar and restaurant in Staten Island bar none.. Growing up in the area, i've been coming to this place since I was a kid. The burgers are some of the best i've ever had. It's served on an english muffin which goes perfectly with the thick patties they have. I usually get it with a side of sweet potato fries which are always cooked just right. They are also known for their wings and other dishes but the burger is what really makes this place special. Everyone I know agrees this is the best burger spot on the island. Drinks are also great. They have any domestic beer you can think of and a few imported ones as well. The vibe this place has really makes you want to drink domestic though. Service is very friendly and attentive. It's also very reasonably priced. Overall- Perfect place for a burger and fries and a few beers to go along with it. Multiple TVs make it great for watching a game. read more

I went to order food next door with my friend and it was a 40 minute wait so we walked next door to Duffy's to grab a drink while we wait. The man behind the bar rudely screamed I don't make that what do you want when we asked for our drinks and then continued to yell I don't make that go across the street or something like we were children. It was rude and disgusting and embarrassing because the WHOLE restaurant turned around and looked at us. He rudely said I don't do those go across the street. I guess your bartender wants people to take their money and business elsewhere. We are grown adults and we're shunned away so disrespectfully because we asked for two shots he wasn't sure about. Duffy's is not just great burgers anymore. They have become so much more than that I had perhaps the best sandwich I've eaten in a while. Prime rib with cheese on focaccia with au jus. Food was good but the service and experience overall was terrible. From the moment we walked in we felt awkward. Not one person greeted us or even acknowledged us and we were looking at the staff like do we just sit anywhere or...? Then the waiters (who looked like 15 year olds) took turns waiting our table. one of them took our order, a different one gave us the food, another one took our drink order, and another one gave us the check. Very confusing. we asked for more of the sauce that came with one of our orders and the kid goes is that duffy sauce? and we didn't know so we said we weren't sure but we pointed to it and said it came with the food. Then he returned with something that tasted completely different but we didn't complain. Then, we ordered a wrap to-go and the kid comes back over to us to ask us what kind of side we wanted with it, to which I responded "whatever it comes with is fine". However, he gave us fries and charged us an extra $2.50 for the "substitution" which we didn't ask for. Pretty sure I shouldn't be charged for a substitution if I asked for whatever it came with. Last, when we paid for the bill, they didn't bring us back our change at all which should have been around $17 ... they just automatically assumed all of the change would be their tip. Not even asking us if we wanted change. Overall very disappointed and it's so unfortunate because the food was good. read more

First time we're here. The place doesn't look inviting from the outside, but it actually has a warm family vibe on the inside. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We got 2 beers, a Bloody Mary, 2 teas, an order of buffalo wings, meatball sandwich with vodka sauce and a burger with blue cheese. The whole thing came out to $53, which is great. Had lunch here with the Mrs. today before going to see the SI Yanks. We decided we were going to order off the specials menu. For an appetizer, we had the Cajun Steak Tips which had a nice little kick, it was served with salsa and sour cream. For burgers, (which may be the best on Staten Island), I had the Irish Cheddar burger with sweet potato fries and my wife had the Bleu Cheese burger with waffle fries.
