Duffy's is OK. I have only been there once so I am not expert in all of their offerings. I can only speak for the hamburger. I know people rave about the burgers so we thought we would give it a try. Like I said, it was just OK. Service was good, wait staff pleasant, and a comfortable place to have lunch. Overall though, I feel I prefer Griff's Place in New Dorp for burgers. Normally, I love this place. The service is always great. Tonight, I ordered a Cobb salad and potato skins to go. I get the food home and to my surprise...two sunny side up egg instead of hard boiled eggs. Salad covered in runny egg yolks No dressing either. I call and am told ...it's no longer on the menu. Then I'm told "it's egg". I asked the person who answered if he understands the difference in the cooking methods of the egg. He replied NO. He gets a manager who says "sir you are being hostile with the employe And instructs me to bring back the food so he can see the problem and they will re make a new one when I arrive or you can get a free Cobb salad next time you come in (the salad that is no longer on the menu). I said no ...I will throw it out. He said OK. Have a good night. He also said the girl who took the order and the boy who answered the phone were not familiar with the menu. The beer is cold, the drinks strong and the food consistently good. They brag that they have the island's best burgers (debatable) but, they are really really good. Great dive bar! I think we were the only people at the bar that didn't know everyone else who came in. We were treated nicely by a friendly bartender. They are famous locally for their burger and it's no wonder. I had a provolone and bacon burger served on an English muffin and cooked to medium perfection. This is my favorite bar and restaurant in Staten Island bar none.. Growing up in the area, i've been coming to this place since I was a kid. The burgers are some of the best i've ever had. It's served on an english muffin which goes perfectly with the thick patties they have. I usually get it with a side of sweet potato fries which are always cooked just right. They are also known for their wings and other dishes but the burger is what really makes this place special. Everyone I know agrees this is the best burger spot on the island. Drinks are also great. They have any domestic beer you can think of and a few imported ones as well. The vibe this place has really makes you want to drink domestic though. Service is very friendly and attentive. It's also very reasonably priced. Overall- Perfect place for a burger and fries and a few beers to go along with it. Multiple TVs make it great for watching a game. read more

Had lunch here with the Mrs. today before going to see the SI Yanks. We decided we were going to order off the specials menu. For an appetizer, we had the Cajun Steak Tips which had a nice little kick, it was served with salsa and sour cream. For burgers, (which may be the best on Staten Island), I had the Irish Cheddar burger with sweet potato fries and my wife had the Bleu Cheese burger with waffle fries.
