Duffy's was one of our regular spots when we lived around the corner. We were on Staten Island this weekend and I had some free solo time and stopped in for lunch. My wife was at a baby shower, my son was hanging out with his friends. Duffy's is your typical neighborhood bar / tavern. It's been here forever. The beer is cold, the drinks strong and the food consistently good. They brag that they have the island's best burgers (debatable) but, they are really really good. I ordered off the Saturday special menu. A cup of New England Clam Chowder and the Cowboy Burger hit the spot on a rainy dreary day yesterday. The burger was delicious and cooked to order. The service was nice too. I washed it all down with a draft Miler High Life. Craft beer and fancy cocktails are not on the menu here.

After Staten Island half, we waited for dinner to celebrate my friend's accomplishment! I was excited because I've heard of Duffy a bunch but didn't have a chance to go (or really I forgot!). Ordered a speciality burger- blackened blue cheese burger with a side l their fries. Definitely like the crinkle cut- they're crunchy! Good to note: they don't have a surcharge fee for credit cards!

This was my 2nd time at Duffy's. I really enjoy the burgers and wings. The sangria was also really good. And the staff is really pleasant and welcoming.

Great dive bar! I think we were the only people at the bar that didn't know everyone else who came in. We were treated nicely by a friendly bartender. They are famous locally for their burger and it's no wonder. I had a provolone and bacon burger served on an English muffin and cooked to medium perfection. Wifey had a delicious chicken sandwich and we shared perfectly cooked onion rings. They had a half dozen beers on tap. The place looks nice and retro but well kept. 5 large TVs played the last week of NFL games. If you are hungry for a burger and thirsty for a beer this is your place!

Excellent food and highly attentive servers. Dive vibes are great when you just want good food and to keep it casual. Will go again and again and again.

I went here for a function earlier today. Food was not bad but it is in big portions. My only concern was the outdoor hut seemed a bit tight in space. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Great drinks, great bartender. & he's cute !

Asked the bartender how much a miller was and he said "if you gotta ask it's too much" crazy work for a guy working for tips.

We ordered the Forest Ave roast beef sandwich and the fried shrimp appetizer with bang bang sauce. The shrimp had a nice crunch, and the bang bang sauce was good, but its flavor was a bit mild and plain; some garnish like chives can definitely elevate this appetizer further! Our sandwich unfortunately came without the bacon jam and maple bourbon, which meant it was just roast beef double dunked with Gruyère cheese. Unfortunately we didn't realize it until near the end, and although our waitress apologized and brought us a side of the bacon jam, by then we only had a quarter of it left which was a bummer. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and the gravy was rich and deliciously beefy, but the extra Au jus was a bit pricy for how little it was, where it came in the same small plastic sauce container instead of a small bowl/ceramic. I'm sure this doesn't happen often that half the sandwich ingredients were left out, so I guess we were just unlucky we didn't realize sooner, but it nonetheless detracted from our experience and we were charged the full price for the meal. Overall The Point Tavern has a lot of potential of being amazing and serve probably the best roast beef in all of Staten Island; I really wish them the best with their varied roast beef selections! Please give them a try and just check your sandwich before digging into it! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

What's the secret at the Point Tavern in Staten Island? They keep things simple! This review is based on my visit this past Saturday Evening - 21 June 2025. Bartender Mike is a true Mensch, if that's even possible, in a place like Staten Island, but he was truly a gem and kept the drinks flowing. This is truly a neighborhood watering hole that is frequented by many, including some friendly and beautiful teachers from the local school across the way. You are struck with an immediate vibe of friendliness and happiness, and visitors to the Point Tavern are truly treated like family. My great friend, "Uncle Anthony," and I enjoyed ourselves sitting and relaxing at the bar. There was a wide selection of draft beers on tap, and the mixed drinks were delicious. Confession: I made the "Shlep" to investigate this "Suspicious" Roast Beef Sandwich. My suspicions were confirmed--amazing, Juicy, Tender, and savory. Sandwiches are made to order and tailored to the customer's likely preferences. The kitchen got it right on the first shot and got me my "Kosher" Roast Beef Sandwich. Trust me, its worth the visit. SECOND, the food is just as amazing! I was so happy hahah. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a restaurant for more than just their food. We came here for my boyfriend's parent's anniversary and the server's were wonderful and honestly very thoughtful as well! They were very attentive to our table and refilled our waters often. I also say this because when my bf's parents ordered the halibut to split, they had brought out their meal in two individual plates that were beautifully plated, you would think they ordered separately! They also took our group picture! :) We ordered 2 orders of the Basement Snacks: For Two, 2 orders of their raw oysters for appetizers. For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Carbonara Rossa with a side of Asparagus. Everything was so good. Their buffalo wings were perfectly marinated and not too saucy, their ribs were so tender and the meat fell straight off the bone! My carbonara was also delicious. For dessert they even gave an anniversary treat which was so sweet. I ordered a Chocolate Cappuccino which was also great. 11/10! Wonderful and would recommend.
