Stopped by for corn beef and cabbage for St.Patricks Day , place was packed and great Irish music . The food was absolutely outstanding , the best corn beef and cabbage I've had in a very long time . This place is a gem and a must go . The only thing they have to work on a little bit is table service . People need to be a bit more friendly . Service at the bar is always great tho . Definitely recommend for the food and ambience .

This place is a treasure! I've been wanting to come here for some time now and I got the chance recently with my gf and I wasn't disappointed. I felt like I was walking into a pub in County Cavan, Ireland where my family came to America from. This is the kind of place I could spend hours sipping Southwick and eating apps while talking to the bartender about life. The night I visited they were closing soon so I didn't get to try their fish and chips which I hear are great, but I will be in again soon to try them. Trust me! I had a Southwick and my gf had a Magners. You can't go wrong with either of them. The vibe of this place is amazing and I'm excited to return. Until then, Sláinte!

The food was good! I loved the menu, a nice change from standard American and fast food. The service was great someone was always around to offer more drinks or tidy our table. The drinks were effective and tasty! I will return

Another Bayonne staple. I grew up coming here as a kid and it remained a favorite into adulthood. This place was on our food list, as we moved away, and wanted to hit up classic Bayonne spots. My friend put me on to the the steak sandwich a few years ago. It's an open faced sandwich served over buttered toast. I feel like a 1950s housewife eating this. It's like pure butter. Phenomenal. It's served with fries, but I always sub for the garlic potatoes. You have the option of soup or salad for a side. And of course, the onion soup is an absolute must.

Had to check this place out, it looks so magical from the outside. On inside even more, you are transported to a different time or a different country. The waiters were super nice. Not busy at all at 6 on a Thursday. Other reviews say this place is small but there is about 7 tables in the front and like 10 tables in the back, maybe it seems small when it's busy on the weekend. We got some signature cocktails that were on a menu at the booth. No prices but then we when we got the bill the milk way was $13 and the white wolf was $9. Both drinks were amazing. They got me very happy tipsy. And you really taste the pecan in the white wolf and the chocolatey creamy goodness in the Milky Way. We split the onion soup and the filet mignon. The onion soup for $8 was reasonably priced for the amount of cheese and soup they give. It was the best we both ever had. The flavor was so balanced and not too salty. The bread is under the cheese and the cheese tasted so good and gooey. The filet mignon had a good char and flavor but about 2 oz of it was grizzle, it was not center cut either. The spinach was amazing though, creamy but still felt like you were eating a vegetable. I would definitely come back again and try some of the other food like the corn beef. I also want to get those drinks again. This place was a nice warm hug on a rainy day!

AMAZING local spot. A previous reviewer hinted that it seems like the kind of place where if you go twice you become a regular. That is spot on. The old -school vibe is great. It is a very old fashioned place that is very comfortable and not pretentious at all. The people are all from nearby, and seem to be very familiar with the menu and what is on tap. Not to worry, though ... everyone is super friendly even if you are new. I can attest to that from my recent visit, and before I go any further, I"ll provide the spoiler alert that I will definitely be going back. The food: We ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls and they were phenomenal. The unexpected surprise was the homemade ketchup. Homemade ketchup! As it turns out, they take great care in all their ingredients, and this has a little spice to it. Not to worry, they also have the Heinz if you prefer. The burgers were on point. Made fresh, and cooked the way we asked. The wings were awesome too. I plan on getting the steak next time, or something German.

My girlfriend and I came here for dinner on a weekday evening. It was our first time trying this place. We arrived pretty early in the night, around 6pm, and it wasn't crowded at all. We were able to get a booth table right away. While looking over the menu, we ordered a glass of wine and a beer. For our meals, we went with 2 of there more famous dishes ordered here; the sauerbraten and sliced steak sandwich. Both of these meals were delicious. I especially enjoyed the sauerbraten, as the gravy covered over the meat was really good. The steak sandwich was cooked medium, which wad perfect, and just overall tasted great. We both enjoyed our meals and experience here. They have lots of menu items to chose from, and we would definitely come back to try some more items.

So I called in a order for pickup and once we arrived the bar had a couple people sitting at the end of the bar so me and my friend sat at the other end of the bar only for the bartender to come up to us and tell us he is going to need the seat for other people we got up and no one even sat down. Will never go back again but the girl host was very nice.

Last time I came here was 12 years ago. Nothing really changed. The interior looks the same. It has an old school feel to it. I came here for St. Patrick's day. I heard they have the best corned beef and cabbage in Bayonne. I have to agree, it was delicious. The food came quickly but it took half an hour for the waitress to come to my table after we finished dinner. I will come back when it is not a busy.

Gf birthday. She wanted steak. Longhorn was packed so I googled steak house. We drove over to Hendrickson's. What an old world charm inside. German decor. We started with drinks. Excellent variety. For a buck fifty more we had salads instead of soup. Then we both had 12 ounce new york shell steaks. Perfection and a thing of beauty. Came with broccoli and garlic potatoes. They were so good. All in all a perfect night.

    Bar decore, tasty drinks.

Hello, the wonderful staff at my favorite restaurant Americano!…read moreHappy Easter to all! Such meaningful Holiday was celebrated by all this Easter of 2026! The place was packed with well dressed people! It was like one happy family came to celebrate life! My boyfriend and I came for a Sunday brunch! We were there for dinner the night before on Saturday and truly enjoyed the food, especially a lovely surprise- 2 singing guitar players! I could sing along every song they played! I had my favorite antipasto salad, chicken Marsala with mushrooms, my boyfriend had the wedge salad, chicken parmigiana, and for desert we shared the amazing napoleon.. I learned that their pastry chef bakes fresh pastries every morning! I also love the coconut cake - it's amazing! I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to create a special Valentine's party! Every woman received a long stem white or red rose in its own water holder! There were rose petals on the floor and every song played was a Love song! What a lovely touch making every woman so special! I truly felt loved! And thank you for a special Valentine menu, which included heart shaped ravioli, heart shaped pizza, special $8.00 non- alcoholic drinks with little marshmallows in them.. The place was booked for Valentine's! Every table was taken! Dear Americano! Thank you for creating such an amazing place that makes me feel like home every time! I enjoyed the 8 piece Latin band.. I even got to dance a bit.. Keep up the good work! Im grateful to have a place like this right here in Bayonne, practically in my back yard.. I can listen to live jazz without traveling to NYC! Dear Lance! Thank you for such brave idea to create a James Bond/Hollywood style restaurant! Bayonne really needed that! Sometimes when I'm there I get confused, thinking I'm in NY City! And I can actually walk home! Amen! I can't wait for May 19th jazz group - Champion Fulton - a lady jazz pianist who sounds like Billy Holiday, great saxophone player - recording artists from NYC. It's my boyfriend's birthday .. he licked out! Thank you! Sophia

This restaurant is beautiful to visit and you'll feel beautiful just walking in. Parking is valet and easy as can be. Where does that happen in Hudson County? Now, the service and food. I have a very discerning palate and love to cook. I always find something to complain about when we eat out. Well, I have to say, the food at Americano was just perfect. From the exquisite appetizer selection of burrata, oysters (priced well!), fried artichoke hearts, calamari (perfectly breaded), we could not find fault and only oohed and aahed at the deliciousness of every dish. The steak was just out of this world. I was able to cut the steak with my fork it was so tender. Eggplant parmigiana that was absolutely perfect. Do not leave this out of your selections. Oh my God- the desserts. Don't even get me started. The attentiveness and expertise of the servers was what you find in Europe at the finest restaurants. The owner, Lance, was there that night and overseeing everything like a family boss. You could tell the staff adore him and their work. Needless to repeat but, I will. What a lovely evening of old world Hollywood charm topped off with food that will have you feeling like you spent your precious time and hard earned money well. That's a rare gem in today's world. We can't wait to return. (My only regret was that we didn't take enough pictures of the food!)

I got a Sazerac with cognac, I usually get that but this time they didn't have Pierre Ferran for they only had Ansac. I personally don't care for Ansac so I believe it totally changed the taste of the drink. The bartender could tell. I didn't like it and he asked me about four times " Are you sure I change it?
