Mussels in white wine sauce.
Adele P.

This place is phenomenal! We had a lovely date night last night. Friends have been raving about Adour Bistro and I can see why. The owner checks on everybody to make sure that they are happy here. Service here is on point, and we wanted for nothing. We started with drinks, he had wine and I had an elderflower Spritz. For our appetizer we ordered the grilled octopus which was perfectly done. For dinner I had the PEI mussels in white wine and my date had duck confit. Both were superb. There was not a bad mussel in the bunch and his duck was absolutely delicious. The white wine sauce for the mussels was extremely tasty and the French fries were a hit. I rarely eat fries but these were a delight. We didn't stay for dessert because we still have so much left over at home due to the holidays. However, I am sure that we will be back and will enjoy even more at this phenomenal new restaurant. I wish them much success and I know that I will be a regular. There is nothing else quite like this around here and I'm glad that they have opened. If you're going, make sure to make a reservation. I made reservations on their website. Place is small but elegantly appointed.

I was craving duck confit and didn't even know this restaurant existed in Bayonne. After checking the reviews, I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! Everything I ordered was delicious and fresh. The place is small, so I recommend making a reservation before you go. The service was fantastic as well.

Watermelon martini

Adour Bistro is truly a hidden gem in Bayonne, and if I had to rate it, this is hands down the #1 restaurant in town. There may be older, more upscale, and pricier establishments around, but for consistently excellent food and drinks, this is the place to be. The dishes are always cooked to perfection, the cocktails are creative and expertly crafted, and the atmosphere is both friendly and relaxed. We've tried almost everything on the menu and have never once been disappointed. Chef Andrew is outstanding--we feel so lucky to have his talent here. And George's cocktails? Absolutely spot-on. (Fun fact: he even makes his own limoncello for the lemon spritz!) Just to give you a taste of our most recent visit: we enjoyed an Italian Manhattan, a watermelon martini, syrniki (farmer's cheese pancakes), blintzes, and steak & eggs. Everything was flawless. Huge thanks to Andrew and George for their passion and hard work--you make every visit special!

This place is a gem. They haven't been open long. It's a cozy place with pleasant ambiance - love the lamps they have on the tables. They have a bar in the back - not big - three seats. They have an outstanding menu. The owner and servers are very friendly and helpful. My brother and I took our mother out to dinner. We had the Cauliflower Flore and the Fritto Misto to start. For dinner we had the Duck Confit, Ratatouille with Goat Cheese and the Hanger Steak with Chimichurri sauce. We also had deserts. We really enjoyed ourselves and we will be back.

Ending with a very nice well sized chocolate lava cake.

The food and the vibe had me in a spell. The place is located in a quiet residential street, off the busier Jersey Avenue. The entrance is inconspicuous, with only the neon sign letting you know you might be in the right place. It looks like the back entrance of a kitchen, but as you climb down the metal stairs, you enter in a world that can be described as chill, elegant, and unpretentious. Forget the trashiness of Downtown, with 40 year old alpha wanna bes flashing their cash on overhyped basic food and watered down cocktails. Madame is for serious people, far from basic. There isn't one item in the menu that sucked. I cannot drink, but that didnt stop me from enjoying myself, because the food was outstanding. The first dish were thr oysters: Pacific and Maine oysters. Both incredible with their subtleties. Then came the bone marrow with the braised beef and baguette. The marrow spread like butter on the perfectly seasoned baguette. The braised beef had a mild sweetness to it due to the onions, and it complemented the savory baguette. Then came the patè, and rhe roasted Brussels sprouts with apple and parmesan. The Brussels were so great, that it could get every child in the world to finally eat vegetables. To top it all off I had the creme brulè cheesecake with a warm cup of americano. I was done. I was at peace. By then, it was closing time, and...I didnt wanna leave...I would have gladly stayed and clean the kitchen. I ate at the bar, the place was not crowded at all and lounge music was playing in the background. It is walking distance from the Grove path, so if you are commuting back from work and are looking for a quiet and relaxed place with Michelin level food, stop by Madame. You will feel rejuvenated. Best way put, there's a ton of personality on the inside. As for the food...everything was very very good. We got the waffle sandwich, Belgian waffle, caviar & steamed eggs, and a few croissants...Top to bottom everything was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience of it all. Side note...add the croissant to your order...

Village eateries helmed by power-chef duo Jody Williams and Rita Sodi; four are within a block of each other. I passed the other three (Bar Pisellino, Via Carota, I Sodi) on my way and all had lines out the door. Carota and Sodi are Italian, Buvette is French. There are 2 other Buvettes in Asia and one coming soon in London. Buvette does not do reservations. Buvette is a charming but tiny/cramped space, made more tiny within the last year by NYC's removal of pandemic-era street patios which greatly helped dining capacity. Buvette may sometimes have a few front sidewalk tables, and there's a tiny outdoor patio in the back. The tables and dishware are also tiny. There's a kitchen in the back, but some food is also prepared below the bar in front, where there seem to be some ovens. The food seems reliably consistent here. The menu is short but there are daily specials. I ordered a non-alcoholic ginger soda, crab tartine (a special), lobster a l'Americaine (lobster pot pie) and frites. The soda is always on the menu and is refreshing, with a nice snap of ginger. The crab tartine was fab, a fresh crab salad with avocado atop toast. The lobster pot pie was made in the under-bar oven, a small serving of lobster and veggies with a golden puff pastry topper. Delish. The frites were nicely crisp, served with an aioli. Service was okay, but my hot food took about 45 minutes to come out, apparently because my ticket was lost. Overall a pleasant meal, my first during this visit.

First of all, the space is stunning. The bar, table, decor and everything looks expensive and exquisite. I mean, they do serve caviar on the menu afterall, enough said. With that, the menu also consists of pricey items. We decided to pass on the food and just have a cocktail. I had the Pineau Cobbler ($20) while my friend got the Hugo Spritz ($19). The cocktail wasn't really to my liking and I noticed I didn't get a strawberry garnish. It's still quite aesthetic, but that's all that this place is. It's pretty and pricey. Also, being located in FiDi, which isn't an area I find myself often.

I loved the table lamp and the Sabre silverware. I would give three stars, but it was a very enjoyable atmosphere so I'm rounding up. My drink was good but very small, as was the quiche I ordered, which was more of a mini quiche. The few pieces of lettuce in the salad were exquisite. I also shared the herbed focaccia bread snack, that was legitimately tasty. My companion enjoyed their croissant sandwich which in terms of portion size, might be the move here.
