Bacon egg and cheese on rye
    Emily P.

One of my favorite spots in Bayonne. All of their food is really delicious! From the kielbasa and pierogis to their breakfast sandwiches... I don't think I have ever gotten something here that I didn't enjoy! If you get a sandwich with bacon, they pack it on! The pastrami sandwich they do the same! Can't go wrong with Alex and Terry's!

5 stars for the bacon egg and cheese sandwich!! I haven't had anything else but every time I order the BEC it's packed with bacon and sooooo delicious

Service here is some of the best I have had, anywhere. That deserves its own paragraph. Great breakfast of a perfectly cooked cheese omelette and a mound of crispy bacon. Strong coffee topped off a great meal. Not fancy, but I am sad now that I don't live around the corner from this place. Do yourself a favor - eat here.

From the outside it is very hard to tell, but lurking inside is a monster pastrami sandwich lol. I'm serious it's Huge!! This review is mainly based on their lunch menu with some other good things a polish deli should offer. The lunch specials are usually sold out later into the day so get there by noon. The pastrami seems infinite but don't quote me. The pastrami is sliced and bathing in an au jus that just soaks flavor into their rye bread. Their rye bread is what makes all their sandwiches large, so big they will sell you a half sandwich, cutting one slice of rye in half. You have to try the pastrami, how you like it, on rye and I dare you to tackle a whole. Chicken cutlet sandwich never disappoints. Pierogis are always fresh and a great side. All around great Polish style deli.

Pastrami Whole sandwich I said... It's probably small I said...

Now I love Katz deli and still think it's the best pastrami but if I don't feel like driving into the city Alex and Terry's is a great local choice. Twice the size and only $11 for a huge full sandwich. The Pierogies and kielbasa were also good. Walking in you can tell this is authentic home cooked Polish place. The staff was also pleasant I'll definitely be back as a regular.

Jesus Marimba! What a sandwich! Outstanding pastrami. Great rye bread. Copious amount of meat with a good german mustard. 1.2 lb sandwich. Enuf for four people but why share something so good, so wholesome. Highly, highly recommended.

From Texas- stopped to eat here after seeing 911 Teardrop. Fabulous food- all home made

We were the only people in the restaurant the entire time, though there were a few delivery orders. The restaurant has a homey interior, with callouts to their historic presence in Bay Ridge. We ordered the chicken klopsiki ($15.65) and the Hungarian pancakes ($20). Each dish comes with a house salad, which consists of red cabbage, sauerkraut, cole slaw, beets, shredded carrots, and lettuce. The salad had nice flavors and tasted fresh! I really enjoyed the chicken klopsiki, which is a chicken meatball. The meatball was moist, and the sauce had a nice flavor, like chicken soup. The only downside was that the mashed potatoes had no flavor and tasted like powdered mashed potatoes. I liked the flavor of the Hungarian pancakes, but the ratio of pancake to filling was heavily skewed toward the pancake, which was just fried potato with minimal flavor. Therefore, I would pass on the pancakes and just get the goulash if I decided to return. Service was okay. When I asked the server for recommendations, she wasn't enthusiastic, but I was asking generally, and I could have been more specific. She left during our meal, and we had to call someone to give us the check. So after giving us the food, service was nonexistent. Overall, I liked some parts of the dishes, but nothing was so amazing that I would be itching to return again!

I have to say at first I wasn't too fond on getting something but I'm glad I did. The food was very tasty and delicious. I had the Stuffed Chicken Breast (Nadziewane Piersi Z Kurczaka) I would definitely try it again. I love the different options of vegetables that come with the dish and that's coming from someone who isn't the biggest fan of certain vegetables.

It's been years since hanging out here. Lots of space for big groups, and it has been busy…read moreeverytime I have been. Came for a birthday party (that was moved from a park last minute because of the rain). We were in the front room and had 3 large party platters of food. The food was tasty overall - there were 2 platters with fried chicken, jalapeño poppers, huge pretzels, fries, mozzarella sticks, celery, and a lot of sauces. There was also a platter with a bbq theme with smaller pretzels, pulled pork, sausage, kraut, cabbage, german potato salad, smoked wings/chicken, ribs, another type of meat, fries, and sauces/cheese dip. A member of the staff said the front room wasn't child friendly and a couple had to sit in the big noisy room in the back with their kid while the majority of the party was up front. Not really sure why it mattered because both rooms have bars serving alcohol, and later on more and more kids were staying up front and no one told them to move. The same staff member went around taking used plates, cups and attempted to remove the food platters when they were still actively being picked over (a pet peeve of mine). He did try to accommodate us in the back by offering a long table (but it wasn't enough for the whole group) so it became the kids table. The bartender was attentive and I did not have to wait to long to be served. They have a large jug of water so you can serve yourself and the bartender can focus on everything else. I had a couple of gin and tonics that were under $9 each. They let the party bring in and serve a homemade cake.

When Jersey City was known, but slightly unknown. More for the if you know, you know people. I came back recently and was still amazed recollecting the nostalgia. It's just one of those places where you have to go during the summer, but can also go during any live sporting events. The camaraderie you get inside the biergarten is one of a kind. The summers are perfect when hundreds are people are flocked outside. Drinks are pouring plentifully and pretzels and other food are gleefully shared with crowds of people. In other words, just because Zeppelin Hall is a bit older than other spots here, it doesn't mean you shouldn't try it.
