I returned to the Vic and once again had a great time. This time my wife and I went on a Friday evening and there were less people than on Saturdays. There were plenty of seats available in the restaurant area (where the band plays). Note that there's a separate bar area but if you sit there you won't be able to enjoy the live music. In terms of music there was a duo playing (Chris and Nick) and they were great! They played classic rock, top songs and all the good stuff. I will definitely be back next time they come back to the Vic. I believe they play there on a monthly basis. Service was great as usual. Our waiter (I believe his name is Jason) was super friendly and the waitress who was not serving our table but who remembered us from last time is also very friendly. Food was very tasty. Their Margherita pie is delicious ($13.95 for the large pie) and so is their fries with cheese ($3.95 for the small one which served 2 people well). I paid $10 for a pitcher of beer and my wife $6 for a glass of wine (which they refilled and didn't charge). I wish more people knew about this place because it was a great Friday night, great weather but there wasn't a lot of people there. Came here last night for a bingo event (every Thursday they host a bingo). The food was incredible and so cheap!! I love the bar pie it's a great thin pizza. I also loved the cheeseburger and the cheese fries. The staff and our waitress were phenomenal and very attentive! Bingo was lots of fun and free to play!! I had heard good things about this place so a friend and I decided to go there for burgers. Service: almost non-existent. There was one waiter running the bar and good deliveries. My friend ordered a salad & a burger, and a beer. I ordered a burger. We both ordered them medium but they were well-done. My friend never got their salad and we were both giving burgers deluxe even though we had ordered just the burgers. I thought my burger tasted slightly sour. I wasn't impressed at all. There are much better burgers here in Bayonne. I know people swear by the pizza but I really don't have any desire to try it at this point. read more

The crust is thin, but the toppings falls off. Ordered a Large "The Works" pie and wings. Got the chili flavor and the wings were meaty and the sauce complimented it. The pizza was messy. The second you pick up the slice, the entire topping slides down into the pizza box. I don't think the thin pie can handle much toppings. If you miss the bar pie from The Big Apple, this spot is for you, as it's identical. Had the buffalo blasters, too, which were delicious. Prices are old-school-Bayonne reasonable. Solid service from hometown bartenders. It's pretty Trumpy in there. So, if you're triggered by that, it's probably not your scene. read more

It was an ok experience. I'm not upset that I went, but I have no urge or need to go back. But let's focus on the positive ... the wings were the best part of the meal. As for the ambiance, it pulls off dive bar very well. A cool cast of characters, and a fun staff. The beer is cold, and there are plenty of TVs. Some of the challenges are: The chili was ... interesting (sweet? almost?) but certainly not traditional. The pizza was too thin. You can't even pick it up. It's certainly an outdated dive bar but it's a great, friendly, neighborhood bar and great place to watch sports. The thin pizza was decent. We are inclined to order it again with more of a variety of toppings. The chicken wings (coated in breading) were good as well. The drinks are fairly priced. I ordered from them twice...and twice they got my order wrong. First time they completely forgot one burger - which they claim to not have seen it in the order (and I had to call to get a refund). The second time my order included 3 burgers - two of which were wrong. I didn't not even get the bacon - which I paid extra for. Both times the food was delivered a bit warm - we had to reheat the food. Then they make you use a delivery service where they add fees on top of not giving you the food you paid for. I really love The Vic. It's just a neighborhood bar very casual. Lots of tables and TVs. The appetizers were all great. Their small antipasto salad is quite large, with plenty of ham and cheese thinly cut. All of the other apps we had were great too but our favorite was a crispy pretzel with a cheese dip. Bar pie as they call it was very thin which had my hopes up, but not cooked quite long enough to achieve a crisp on crust, very bendy in the middle. Pizza was fine. If a quiet neighborhood was given their worst nightmare this bar would be it. Most days the property is riddled with cigarette butts and trash. The fights outside are constant, very loud and can go on for hours. A nice neighborhood invaded by drunk drivers, trash and noise. Anyone who rates this place high simply knows the owner. No stars.
