I live on Long Island and took my nephews to the Liberty Science Center. They grew up on Long Island and moved to Colorado so they wanted to get some pizza while they were here. We unexpectedly ended up at the Corner Square and were so pleasantly surprised at their pizza. We ordered a pie that was half cheese and half mushroom and it was absolutely delicious. It was cooked perfectly and had amazing cheese that stretched for miles with each bite. After we finished the pie and were leaving, I noticed the number of different types of pies at the counter and was intrigued by one called Brooklyn upside down. I asked the gentleman behind the counter, whose name was Pete, what that was all about and not only did he explain it to me, but he was so generous about giving me a slice to take home and try later which my family enjoyed. Went to this place since Barstool was here, the round I got with sausage and onion was a bit too puffy for me and there was this odd sweetness that came from the slice, the fluffy part bothered me the most since it almost didn't feel like pizza but more fluffy bread. Cheesesteak- It was a good cheesesteak but comes off salty, I know they use coopersharp but I couldn't get over the salt factor. I have tried Corner Square twice and I really really liked the regular cheese slice. The crust was perfect and the cheese/grease ratio was on point. I also had a burrata square slice which didn't reheat very well (the crust was too brittle) and I didn't really like it. On my first visit I had a cheese square slice. After going to the Liberty Science Center, my husband said we had to check out the pizza shop that was just a 10 minute drive away. We drove over and were so ready to try the cheesesteak Sandwich. When we walked in, the staff were patient as we figured out our order. I ordered the cheesesteak Sandwich which was orgasmic! The cheese they use is perfectly salty with the fresh bread and sauteed onions. It was so delicious. We also ordered the chopped chicken sandwich and the hot honey pizza. All that we tried was fantastic. They also have a clean bathroom for customers, which I appreciated before heading back to NYC after eating the delicious meal. I don't care about those well-known famous places in Philly in my opinion corner Square has an excellent Philly steak sandwich good quality meat excellent cheese they don't cut around corners and if you notice their menu is not really huge and there's a reason for that; they focus on giving you good quality food and they focus a lot on what they serve and they wanna make sure what they're serving the public great food good quality and that they don't wanna lose that greatness they serve you if you have a menu as big as a book you're gonna lose track and it's gonna be a bunch of problems and headaches so if you keep the menu simple you can keep track of what you're serving and the quality of your food and these guys do it. I actually put a picture on here of my hand with a fork going into the food because of somebody stupid comment I won't repeat.. but I could say as I do eat the food there. I had both a round and a regular square. And the square is a lot more crispier than the round so it's ur preference. The round is a more traditional slice. Both are delicious. But the shocker was they also sell cheesesteaks here. I had no idea until I seen someone eating it as I walked in. It looked really good so I had to order one. And so glad I did they have one of the best cheesesteaks in NJ. And definitely comparable to philly. And definitely just as good and maybe even better. The highlight is their cheesesteak. It's really the cheese and onions that make it, and the bread is nice and soft. Next up is their spicy pepperoni. I'm actually not a pepperoni fan, but this was probably the best I ever had. It was on a pretty good Sicilian pie that was soft with a slightly crispy bottom. Last up is the plain round. Pizza Masters and Starting Point are still the best for pure plain round. But this place is worthy to be one of Bayonne's top spots. I am very happy this new pizza place opened within a short walking distance from me. I ordered a spicy vodka square online 23.50. It was a big pie and even with 3 people we had leftovers. We came at the time of pickup but it was not ready. While we waited we were given slices of the hot honey pizza to try. I know to not expect that every time, but it was very nice that they did that. It was crispy, flavorful and there was a mountain of pepperoni on it. Inside the place is small. There were 2 people eating in there but mostly it looks like people take out. It's also very grey inside, grey walls, grey floors and bright lights. Complete opposite of their warm pizza. The pizza is like a warm hug but the decoration is a bit cold. They just opened so maybe they plan to add some color in there down the line. The spicy vodka square has a thick and fluffy crust because it's an "upside down" pizza with the sauce on top and cheese on bottom. I did not taste one hint of spicyness or any Calabrian chili oil. A nice new addition to the North Jersey pizza scene, with absolutely phenomenal Sicilian specialty slices. My usual rule with trying a new pizza place is to try the plain first. My theory is if you can't even do that, I won't even bother with trying anything else. This time I did it in reverse due to the hype around town with this place, and how everyone raves about it. So we went in, and got one Brooklyn Special, and one Spicy Pepperoni slice while we waited for the plain pie. The plain pie was good. But the real star of the show was the pepperoni slice. It was packed with flavor, had the perfect texture and consistency (crispy bottom, tasty and delicate middle, and perfect crust). The sauce to cheese ratio was on point, and the pepperoni was top notch. The cheese itself was a level above your everyday pizza cheese, for sure. The place is new but casual. This is an outstanding new pizza place in Bayonne. I am so happy that I live right up the block from them. Over the past several weeks, I have ordered some different pizza's from here to try a variety of them out, and everyone was so good. I love their grandma pies the best. The hot honey grandma pie is my favorite. So crispy and delicious flavors. They do pepperoni cups right on pizza. This is a must try. I have also ordered the Buffalo Chicken pie and Margherita pie.
