So me and my veteran brother came to this establishment looked nice sat at bar - bartender didn't come over for over 10 min ordered drinks- she made walked away had to request menu . We ordered wing with blue cheese and a ranch - and ordered onion rings and a pizza - Wings came out only blu cheese she walked away i had to call her over i asked for the ranch we ordered with wings she tells me i have to wait till the other food comes out - I said so I'm supposed to eat my wings cold she says what do you want me to get it - i said well yea you work here no . Angry walked right to kitchen which is right at end of bar couldn't understand why couldn't grab and the sauce look pre made so just had to grab it . So we eat our food wings ok - pizza horrible only thing decent were onion rings . After eating got check she decided to tell me that if i decide to come back there i shouldn't be so rude and it's not her job to get what i ordered ! She said i don't make the rules here so maybe the owner needs to speak with her about rules or if she is not allowed to grab a premade sauce that was ordered with the food she can't grab it i doubt the owner would not let her grab a sauce that was missing !!! She clearly didn't know what she was doing waitress from other side brought food for bar patron she kept walking pass it she came from dinning side just to give to person at bar!!! The staff was very kind. The place was filled with people. We went there for a late lunch. We had the Tex- Mex salad with grilled chicken and the other with steak. The one with the grilled chicken was tasty however the one with the steak I would not recommend. It was over cooked and dry. Next time, I will get the grilled chicken. We went to W's Bar with a group of friends on a Saturday afternoon. The place is split in two, the bar Room is nice & inviting and has room for about 16 people seated at the bar, the dinning room is large enough we had a table for 12 and there was plenty of space. The menu was simple but the food was good, I had the Rubin and enjoyed it. The service was okay. The drink prices were fare, they had a half dozen beers on tap, although it would be nice if they served Guinness in a Traditional Imperial Pint glass. Lunch with tip cost $38 per-person. read more

Place is wayyyyyyyy over priced, I could make better burgers in my backyard. The waitress acted like everything you asked of her, she was doing you a favor. Every Friday and Saturday, a 100 underage kids from the South Shore are there drinking. Not only is it illegal to let these underage kids drink at your bar but it's a fire hazard considering the bar side is shaped like a subway cart. Been coming here for 23 yrs & sorry to say I'm not going to frequent this place anymore. Idk maybe it's the new ownership. Prices have gone up as to be expected but the portions have been drastically reduced. I had the chili which was some what watery. My wife & I had sandwiches(chicken salad &blt)& they were like sliders! I got a very small sliver of pickle to go with it, even the soft drinks were served in smaller glasses. Whenever my wife and our son would travel from our home in nj to Staten Island to visit family, we'd always stop at W's for lunch. My son loved their French Onion soup and would always ask for it. Food was always good. We stopped in recently tho and things have changed! Food was way off. Wings were SO over cooked. The well done burger came out BLEEDING! We spoke to our waitress (VERY NICE) who told us there's a new owner, a real nasty woman who I believe we encountered. She had a big attitude! The waitress told us the employees are all miserable now working for her. W's is now off my to-go list. If the owner is reading this, my advice would be lose the attitude. It's been a few years since I was last here and wow has this place changed. Not just the bar/restaurant itself, but the entire shopping plaza. From dingy and run down, to a more modern appeal. Anyway, on to W's! This bar was once a favorite of mine and my friends. Nearly every Monday night football game was watched here for several seasons (not sure if they still do this, but there used to be a all the wings you can eat and domestic pitchers for $20 during the game). Since we've matured and decided we cant gorge on wings/beer every week of our lives, we haven't been back. This past Sunday we decided to pop in for the Giants game. The wings are just as good as I remember (better than average for a bar for sure) and plenty of new and different menu items. Tonight was a wing/beer night so nothing else was sampled, but as far as bars in this area of SI go (Tottenville) you can't go wrong by checking this place out. In a place otherwise void of good options, W's stands out for sure. Friendly bartender and waitresses are usually the norm. This place used to be covered by tinted windows. You couldn't see in and it felt like a private society club. But now that they have taken the tint off the windows we ventured in. I'd highly recommend all of the burgers the meat is cooked fresh never frozen. I also like to compliment the W's crew on the wings they are nice and crispy never soggy and a generous portion is given. This has become my neighborhood favorite place to go. I would give it five stars however the Bud Light is always warm on tap I don't recommend it. Prices are very reasonable. read more

I have to disagree with BJM. Their Cheeseburger Deluxe is very good. It has a nice Charbroiled taste and comes with fries and fresh coleslaw. The Buffalo wings are the best on Staten Island. They compare with the Buffalo wings served by the better establishments in Buffalo, NY. read more

I am so happy that W's has not only been able to stay afloat during this tough time but has remained a great place for their customers to feel comfortable going to for a relaxing meal which is worth sitting outside for. Food is all terrific. The staff and owners are friendly and its a great place to relax. At night the bar crowd is never rowdy and on weekends some nights there is live music with no cover charge. Not expensive at all. Order a burger or the wings. This is my go to spot for lunch since I work in the neighborhood, and my favorite place to grab a beer or 2 after work. I really wanted to like this place. A local bar in the neighborhood... We got in around 7:30, and the female bartender told us we Couldn't open a tab because she was leaving in 30 mins. Who does that?!? The wings were ok. Saucy and spicy but a little too vinegary... The 8:00 bartenders seemed better but we didn't stick around. And the food comes out on a separate bill!!? Why?!! It's the same place? And the bartender couldn't take my order a waitress had to come over from the restaurant. Not very customer centric. I have to say that I'll never go back. I could get a better burger at the diner across the street for less. I think the bun they gave me was probably left behind from the previous owners or something. How could you serve that? Atmosphere and food are good . The bartending is terrible , especially if you have the misfortune of having Rachel as a bartender . She thinks because she parades around in yoga pants that she is doing you a favor by getting you a drink , even if it takes her 10 minutes . Her bar etiquette is terrible . Never a smile , always an attitude , gets your drink when she feels like it , spends most of her time on the phone . I've been there many a time and really try to give her the benefit of the doubt . I had a bunch of the guys come there for a holiday drink after I talked the place up , only to feel embarrassed by her bartending towards our group . I have been going to W's bar for Over 20 yrs.This is closest you can get to a Bay Ridge neighborhood type Pub.The staff is always friendly and the Beer is always ice cold.You will never get a warm bottle of beer here.Updated flat screens line the walls of this store front type pub.On the weekends there is usually a one or two piece performer who play all different types of music including an occasional Country western singer, if you like that music.Ive been there for what we call drunken karaoke on Saturday night where everyone sounds like Bono or Janis Joplin.Its quite the scene.Now the food part, which is in a room behind the bar.Thery have a limited menu which includes burgers,Steaks ,fish and they're signature giant chicken cutlet parm platter which I normally would not order from a bar in a strip mall.The Nightly specials are so good here you wouldnt believe they came out of a pub kitchen,including a different pasta and soup each night.Try the French onion soup and an order of buffalo wings.
