Took a quick trip to Staten Island to give a visiting friend the ferry experience, and we stopped by this Italian restaurant for lunch. The interior was comfy with a classic old school feel. I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon, which was served with potatoes and broccoli, along with a squiggle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This came with a choice, and I went with French Fries, even though had I known the dish was already coming with potatoes, I would have gone with the Pasta. The Salmon was oh so tender, flaky, and slightly crispy. Potatoes and broccoli were both fresh, well seasoned, with a bit of a crunch. Olive oil and vinegar added to the deliciousness of the dish. Steak Fries were addicting, and full of pure potato taste. Service was solid. Our waiter was welcoming and made sure we were taken care of though out our meal. Prices were decent. I placed a similar order as last time, a calamari spinach pie and a royal pier but instead of a 10" royal, I got a 16". They managed to remember to include mushrooms but forgot the damn peppers this time. Are they ever going to get it right? ORIGINAL REVIEW: Ordered two pizzas for delivery. The Calamari Spinach pie was unique and delicious! The Royal Pier pie was also great but I took a star off because mushrooms were forgotten and I was a little disappointed since the description included it. First off food was quite tasty. I went with the Yelp recommendations and ordered a slice of arugula as well as a slice of calamari pizza. I got there when they opened, so the food didn't come out until noon, which was an hour later. I had a beer while I waited, so that made it okay. The ambiance has a diner/bar feel to it. Visiting from out of town and was craving some Italian. Checked out Pier 76. Was disappointed 100%! Pasta was overcooked, sauces were under seasoned, and menu was outdated. Crab cakes on the menu but not available, only 4 beers on tap, 2 wine selections, and fruit flies flying around your food. The poor server felt so bad because he kept saying, "sorry we don't have that.", or, "sorry that's not correct". You shouldn't have to put him on the front lines because ownership fails to do their part. He is a great guy and super sweet, too bad his management doesn't have his back and makes him serve half a** food. Not much ambiance if we're being honest but I hope your server finds a better place or better team to work with. To top it off there's a 4% credit card charge even if you use debit. I must say I had the crispiest most delicious calamari I have ever eaten at this restaurant. AMAZING!! The waiter worked nonstop to take care of the needs of our group of around 20 people. There seemed to be a very long wait for our main course, but everyone was satisfied with their choices. My chicken parm was thinly sliced and expertly breaded the way I like it and served with penne pasta. If I ever find myself in this area I will definitely stop in. Worth the trip. read more

My wife, daughter and I visited NYC 10 days and on our first day, we took the Staten Island ferry to get a view of the Statue of Liberty. While on Staten Island, we walked over to Pier 76 pizza. We ordered the Royal Pier pizza which is sliced meatball, pepperoni, peppers & sausage. It also comes with mushrooms but we held that off. In short, the pizza was fantastic. I would heartily recommend it. Service was great as well. A few days later, back in midtown, we ordered a pizza from Joe's on Broadway, and while that pizza was good as well, between the two, I would have to give it to Pier 76. Worth a stop! read more

We ordered pizzas from here while day drinking at Flagship Brewery. I would stack this pizza against any pizza spot across any of the NYC boroughs any day! Pizza was absolutely delicious. It's a very thin crust (à la Scarr's, Rubirosa, or New Haven style), but has a bit more give and flop to it. The toppings and pepperoni were bomb, crust/dough was perfect, sauce/cheese ratio on point. I can't speak to what it's like to dine-in here, but I do know this is some top tier pizza - people are seriously sleeping on Staten Island pizza! Holy pizza batman! Sicilian pizza at it's best. We ordered a couple of pints, bartender poured pitchers...all good. No problem with extra beer. Ordered the calamari and a 14in sicilian pepperoni pizza. Calamari came out piping hot. He said the calamari just came from the fish market. You could taste the freshness and it was super tender. I am so torn on how to rate Pier 76...I was at a friend's house on Staten Island with a group of folks, and they suggested that we order a bunch of pizzas from the restaurant. While I had never had their food before, the others had and simply raved about it. When the pies arrived, I sampled 3 slices (they are medium-sized, but not huge) of the Plain Cheese. I was immediately in awe of the thin, crisp crust, the sweet marinara sauce, and the flavorful cheese. At that point, I was ready to give it a 5 star rating. However, a few hours later, my stomach was not feeling great. Since there was really no way to know if the pizza was definitely the cause, I ate a leftover slice the next day and again my stomach was uneasy. Very professional and friendly staff, very COVID safe with temperature checks, staff masked, and contact info left for tracing. We decided to order a pizza for the both of us, and I had a Guinness as an appetizer and Irish Coffee for dessert, Bartender was easygoing and service was quick and prompt. I had the bbq chicken pizza at the recommendation of the staff (it was ok) and a grandma slice (I've had a lot better, especially at Frank Pinello's Best Pizza in Williamsburg). I don't even usually notice things like the sauce, but that was the best sauce on pizza I've ever had, and ultimately some of the best pizza I've ever had. We also ordered the lobster mac which was fresh and full of lobster flavor. Definitely delicious. We dined in, which I highly recommend. The setting was leisurely. The service was just right. Came here last weekend and it was the highlight of my trip to Staten Island. For years all I've heard of is the Staten Island Shuffle - i.e. people jumping on the Ferry from Manhattan, landing in SI, and then immediately hopping on the ferry back the other way. And for years I've heard people bash Staten Island for being boring, or weird, or barely accessible to the other Boroughs. I wanted to prove them all wrong, and did some exploring to see for myself on a Sunday whether it was all baloney. Unfortunately almost anything I tried to see within a 30-min walk of the Ferry was closed temporarily or permanently, or way out of reach unless you have a car - churches, bars, restaurants, stores, you name it. All shut down. It also happened to be pouring rain. And the famous $5 tallboy beers weren't available on the Ferry. So...yeah, fun times. So imagine how happy I was when we finally stumbled into this place (hey, a place of business that's actually open past 12:00 pm on a Sunday - what a shock), dried off, sat down, and almost immediately got served 4 slices of good, tasty pizza by the chillest, most laid back barman. He insisted on us sampling 2-3 of his beers on tap, with a generous pour on the samples too, before we ordered any of them - so we basically got 2 (solid) beers and a half for super cheap. He then set us up with cutlery and spices / parm / pepper to sprinkle on our slices of (tasty) pizza, and practically tucked us in. Then he left us to our own devices while he took care of other folks around the bar - which is nice. I hate it when people hover over you while you're trying to relax. Solidly good food, great service, and great hours & location. Not much else you can ask for. If I ever go back to give Staten Island another chance, I'll start from here and see how the rest compares. read more

Pier 76 is right by the ferry so whether your waiting to catch the next one or want to take a trip yo SI for pizza its doable. Its easily some of the best pizza I've had in NYC. It was slappin!!!! Yes I had just finished a 50 mile bike ride but man slice after slice the pies did not disappoint. The margherita was great, the veggie pizza was packedddd with vegetables and the wine pours were generous. It was like a little slice of affordable pizza heaven lol. read more
