I think that action itself shows a lot about Justin's character and the pride he takes in his car services. I have been going to Pons Auto Service ever since, and his kind, thoughtful, and meticulous service has kept my car running smoothly over the past four years. I have had very bad car service experiences before, and when I told Justin about that, he went the extra mile to ensure that he always provided the utmost detail, explanations of services rendered when I had questions, and timely updates. Honestly, his car shop has restored my ability to trust car guys again with the exemplary service that he has provided. I have full trust and faith in Justin that he will always provide the necessary car services without overcharging or "fixing" things that don't need to be fixed. Went to the great Pons to get this 2017 Outlander looked at bc the dreaded light came on ... I was here for what I thought was just a tune up bc she seemed to be running rough, but these guys saved me from either needing a new engine or maybe a high speed accident bc they found something... turns out I needed totally new bearings it sucked and cost a couple of bucks to get her back on the road ... Pons failed my state inspection for bogus ball joint issues that don't exist, and told me they would need a full light assembly for the license plate lights. Total charges were quoted over $1200 for the repairs. Went and got a second opinion from another mechanic who let me know the ball joints are fine and safe to operate and then simply replaced the license plate light bulbs in under a minute. No assembly needed to be ordered. I will never give this shop a single dollar of business again. Steer clear of these deceitful business practices. read more

Pons is hands down the best, most reliable, and friendliest mechanic I ever went to. I have had some mechanics that jacked up my car, took forever, never call you back, make you wait, etc. At Pons they take care of you, and they do the job right. Chris rebuilt my Subaru from nearly being totaled and it ran perfect. When I get into another smaller accident, he got the car back on the road for me quickly, and called me right away to let me know what was up. When another mechanic didn't put my axle nuts on properly during a inspection causing more damage, Pons fixed it at a honest price, and quickly to help me out. Our car was unfortunately towed here after a hit & run. Our insurance doesn't deal with them so we were told we had to have our car moved to another body shop. They were closed for a week for vacation, fine. Our car just sat there in the closed shop. Well the owner decided to charge our insurance a $250 storage fee even though they weren't even open that entire time! Honest, affordable, and great service! Like everybody else, I have anxiety about mechanics ripping me off. Pons Auto is a true gem of a local auto servicer that just does good work at fair prices. They also provide a significant cash discount! They don't have a waiting area (battery/oil changes take ~15 minutes so no big deal), so make arrangements accordingly. I bring my own full synthetic motor oil, filter, and drain plugs, and they change my oil for just $20 (compared to $70-80 for full synthetic elsewhere). I've also had a coolant flush for under $100, which is unbeatable! read more

I had the misfortune of having both our family cars break down over the Thanksgiving holiday. I called Justin and he had me drop the Car 1 off to him early Friday morning. By 9am he called to tell me he had diagnosed the problems, explained each one and gave a price for each repair. The work was completed and I picked up Car 1 right after lunch. I dropped off Car 2 on Monday morning, received a call again about 9am explaining the repairs needed, cost, etc. Car 2 was completed and I drove away with it at 1pm. Justin and the other guys there did a great job! I have spoken to other people who have had the same type of experience there. In addition to fixing the problems correctly and quickly they take time to explain things and have superb costumer service by communicating with you in a timely manner and setting expectations on what to expect. Pons Auto Service is fantastic. I worked directly with Josh for my entire experience. My car needed inspected but had sat for most the year due to covid and working from home. Called on a Friday and it was in on Tuesday morning. I laid out any issues I knew about and asked Josh to give it all extra attention. The next day mid morning he called and outlined any issues and the cost to get everything sorted out, and was very transparent about if I should have the work completed (2010 Mazda 3, so didn't want to put a couple hundred in if it wouldn't last). Not even 48 hours after dropping my car off for an inspection appointment, I had my car back with all the additional work completed. Probably could have had it earlier but I let him know I was in no rush. Car is running like new. Great work at a fair price. In my experience I would def. recommend Pons. read more

They worked on my wife's car. You have to slam the door they replaced for it to close. When I asked them about it they said " I was nid picking". This was thousands of dollars from the insurance company. They said they would take care of the inspection, if not I would not of had it fixed. They didn't keep their work on the inspection and did lousy body work. I took them to court and the owner was there. I didn't even deal with him before court, I didn't know he was. He stated in court about agreements I made with him. read more

Was side swiped and needed body work. Took it here, got it back and It was crappy. sections of the paint looked faded. Nicks and bubbles everywhere. I posted a bad review and they said they'll fix it but please take down the review. I complied. Just got my car back from them fixing their crappy job to have an even more messed up paint job. Told me the gravel imprints must've happened between me taking it (my car) from their shop to my house. The only gravel was in their lot and I never drove over it as I was in a driveway. They didn't seem to care about the quality of the work. Were more interested in blaming the customer. They just rushed it in and out to collect a check. Don't take your car there for body work unless you want a half ass rush job done. Just to clarify this is the BODY shop ran by Chris, not the mechanic part of the shop ran by Justin. read more

I feel like I need to toot the horn for auto shops because a good one is so hard to find. These guys are awesome. First of all, they're legit. I mean they seriously remind me of my dad, getting down and dirty under our Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera to get it done. And there are plenty of yinz' n'at flying around to make me feel even more at home. I had my tail lamp busted by some unknown object falling from the sky (no joke ... impact is totally inexplicable, while it was parked in the PIT short-term lot). My car is new - so there are limited aftermarket parts available. So I called the dealership, and they told me they could get the tail lamp assembly for, and Pons quoted me less - oh, the travesty of dealership markups. Or, maybe Pons has access to the Santa Workshop of car parts - I don't ask questions. Even more, when I finally got over there to have the work done, they literally got the tail lamp, told me to hang out, and did the work on the spot. It is still in place, appears sturdy, and they advised me to not get a scratch touched up that I wanted to and told me to demand my detailer to take care of it ... I like free, quality advice. Long story short, these guys aren't in it to rip you off, they know what they're doing, and they seem like genuinely nice guys. 6 days ago I was rear-ended on the parkway (sorry to anyone stuck in traffic on 376-E on Dec 29, not my fault) and I have the option of going to a shop with an estimate or one of State Farm's shops, which Pons is not. I'm pretty sure I'll be taking the estimate papers over to Pons anyway. read more

Thanks to Snomageddon 2010, I had to pay a visit to a body shop to fix a dented front bumper and fender after crashing into a guard rail on Mt. Washington. I now know why there are always two listings for Pon's. Downstairs is the mechanic and upstairs is the body shop, they're two different businesses but I guess the owners are brothers or something along those lines. As with the auto shop, I didn't need to schedule an appointment, called and they told me to come in anytime (I guess with the snow storm a lot of their appointments got cancelled) Turned my car in on Tuesday, got it back same week Thursday with a brand new fender, headlight and a fixed up shiny front bumper. The price was more than reasonable and I'm happy to find a place where I can take my car, get outstanding service and not worry about being charged extra. read more

I found this place via a Groupon and have since taken our car back for service and inspections. The shop is always friendly and helpful. They seem to really want to get it right and if they can do it a more economical way they offer that as an option. You don't feel pressured and they don't seem to find mysterious additional things that need to be fixed. We recently had them do our brakes. The price was very fair and when we went to pick it up he had knocked down the labor charge he quoted us saying that it took him less time than he estimated... how about that for a change! it is really hard to find a good shop that isn't out to sell you cheap parts and unnecessary repairs and when you do find that shop you always know where to go. read more

I sent my 2004 Lexus to Pons to have the body kit painted and installed. The owner was very friendly: During our first meeting he gave me a quote and suggested me to shop around for the best deal. I also chatted with mechanics there during my waiting times and they really enjoyed working on cars in the shop. Turned out Pons was the only shop that was willing to work with my schedule, and the pricing is fair. So I dropped off the kit to get it painted and a week later went back for fitting and installation. The color was a really good match and overall I am really satisfied. 9 days short of being a full year since we needed Lenny(412-628-4091) again. Our trips to Pittsburg aren't always involving auto issues however this it the second time we had to call for a tow. We needed a alternator and Sears ( where we had one installed two months ago ) was of no help. Thank god for Lenny, he personally went and picked it up and installed it to get us back on the road again. If you travel to Pittsburgh or live in the vicinity put his number in your phone. I love this place! The employees are super friendly and respectful. When I go to other auto shops, they usually treat me poorly because I'm a female and they assume I don't know anything about cars. (When I go to Pep Boys, they sometimes completely ignore me and ask my boyfriend if he needs any help even though he is just accompanying me there.) The employees at Pons are kind, quick and always try to squeeze me in on the same day. When I damaged my rear bumper, they tried to use as many existing parts instead of making me buy new ones. Since I have a beamer, these parts are really expensive!! Many places don't even have the equipment to service my specific car, and some don't service any BMW's at all! When I went in to Pons to flush my coolant and drain my brake fluid, they told me that my brake fluid was fine, whereas other places might be dishonest and try to profit. They also used BMW approved coolant :) I'm from New York and after hearing the insanely high quote from my local auto shops, I took advantage of my trip to Pittsburgh to go to Pons. I had such a nice drive back from Pittsburgh to New York since my car no longer had a lag in acceleration and was super smooth. Pons' prices are lower than other Pittsburgh places I received quotes from, and they also respond incredibly quickly through yelp message! I had an exceptional service experience at Pons Auto Service. My rear brake pads we're totally gone and my car was making grinding noise when I brake. Since Monro Muffler was quoting high price, a colleague at work recommended me Yelp to check out pricing from local mechanics. I wasn't very hopeful about it but I gave it a shot by posting an ad for brake replacement on Friday night @ 730pm. To my pleasant surprise, Justin from Pons Auto responded to my ad within 5 mins. He gave the lowest quote for this service (way less than Monro). Also he was flexible to charge me for just labor as I wanted to get my own brakes and rotors from parts store. When I went to the store next day i.e. Saturday morning at 9am, I was politely greeted and Justin started working on my car right away as I told I wanted to wait instead of dropping my car as I didn't have a ride. He finished the work so quickly and I was out of the store (including payment) under 30 mins. It has been a day after service and car rides pretty smooth. Unfortunately, while at school, someone ripped off my passenger side mirror and I needed to get a new one. I called up Pons Auto Service in Greenfield by a Facebook recommendation and Justin, the owner, answered and listened to my minor issues with my 2004 Toyota Avalon that I drive at college. I was able to send him a photo of the situation at hand and received prompt responses on the likelihood of it being able to fixed and what I should do/how to find a replacement mirror online. Justin fixed it for me for an extremely small and fair price, turns out I ordered the wrong mirror, but this was not an obstacle for Pons Auto Service. I also was not sure if my car needed an oil change -- Justin checked it and said "no worries I'll add a quart." The price was right and extremely fair for my needs. They were extremely accommodating to my schedule and were available to see me at 8am on a Friday morning with very short notice-- I greatly appreciated that. They checked out the engine because I told them I was going on a four hour journey home, and they said you'll be in great shape. Trustworthy and extremely fair. read more

We were scammed by a Pons tow truck employee. He promised to drop our car off at our collision shop (which everyone knows you can drop a car off after hours) and kept it at their place instead overnight. He charged our collision guy over 400 dollars for the tow, which is unacceptable. Insurance is covering everything because the accident wasn't our fault, but this was unethical to say the least. For a well reviewed family owned business we were shocked that they took advantage of our insurance like this and plan to report them to the BBB. read more

I brought my 2008 Audi TT there on a Thursday for an estimate, they were able to take me the following Monday to repair a right rear fender where I backed into a truck and a dent on the crease of my right door where a car had backed into me. They told me my car would be ready that Wednesday. Not only was the car ready on Wednesday, the work was beyond my expectations. It looked brand new and they even had the car detailed. It was amazing. The price was fair and the staff is unbelievably friendly. I also took my car there for an inspection and brakes previously. Couldn't be more satisfied. read more
