There simply cannot be a more ethical, reliable garage in Western PA. My daughter lives there. She had some damage to her car, that I own. I live in Eastern PA. The door was WIDE OPEN to gauge the living heck out of me, price-wise. They DID NOT. Brunner's is INCREDIBLY FAIR, and were communicative, friendly, and fast. I am SO SO glad I asked a friend from Western PA what he recommended, and I am not at all surprised that he said Brunner's, based on my magnificent experience. I am new to Pittsburgh and while driving home from work my car was acting "funny" not shifting, not accelerating when I was pressing on the gas etc. I called every garage in Pittsburgh and Bunner's was the only place that could get my car in the very next morning. I think his name is Mark, very nice guy and made me feel good about going there. As a young female adult I often feel that I will get taken advantage of but this was not the case at Brunner's. I live in the neighborhood, so when my clutch went out on my car last October, this was the only place in near proximity that my car could drive to. I had taken my car to Brunner's for the occasional oil change and really liked that they were a local place so I thought it would be ok. (mistake #1) I guess I should've known better once I called and asked if they worked on transmissions and the voice on the other end said "uh, yeah sure, bring it in". First I paid $250 to change my master cylinder (no pressure for the petal), got it back and could now push the petal but shifting was still off. So I took it back (mistake #2) Oh, you need a new clutch. $800. Refusing to cry in front of a stranger, I forked over the dough, and the car - for 2 weeks. Bumming rides to my job that is 30 minutes away, calling after the estimated 4 days, confused as to why it was taking so much longer. Only to receive my car back - clutch not right. I thought that was just how it was going to be from now on, just not so right, but I could drive it and was more afraid of taking it back to the place that considered that as "fixed" because I had a feeling that 2 - 3 weeks later, I'd receive my mangled car back, still un-drivable. Now that my clutch has gone from 'difficult' to 'slipping while I'm driving' again and it's getting a bit dangerous to merge onto the highway, I finally took it to a transmission shop that my regular mechanic suggested. He estimated $450, can have it back to me in a day. I will NEVER go back. I will hire a tow truck to take my car to my regular mechanic if needed (in Duquesne PA of all places) rather than use them. read more

I will never go anywhere else! Everyone at Brunner's is honest and will give you car repair advice as if you were a family member in-order to make sure you don't spend more than you need to. Maggie is basically like a second mother to me now in that she scolds me for being too lax with getting my cars in for repairs. read more

I was purchasing a used car and took my selection to Mike for a pre purchase inspection. There were so many things wrong with that car! Mike told me exactly what was going wrong with it and I got my $2500 deposit back. The dealership didn't question anything, although they did try to justify it. Mike at Brunner's armed me with knowledge the dealers service manager couldn't argue with. I took my next choice direct to Brunner's and got the OK! Got in an accident, while front of the car needed work. Looked into 7 different repair shops (budget was tight) and visited each and gauged pricing/trustworthiness of each. Met a whole slew of people while doing this and finally decided that George was the guy for the job. I want to note first that I can rely heavily of public transportation, and I do, and so I told George up front that there was no real rush to fix the car. With that being said, George was able and worked real hard to round up parts from all around and order as little factory parts as possible to keep the price down. Really a great guy while other shops just wanted to factory order every part to speed up the process. George's hard work kept the price down. As for the shop itself there are a few things to note. -they do quality work -"casual" front office so you need to keep on top of them by calling regularly -will be honest with you -works very hard to keep the price down while still doing the best work Hopefully I will never need to come here again, but I know that if I do need a fix I will no doubt be bringing my car to George. read more

If you see a pothole do you aim right for it? That is what this garage does only in a different way. They bang your car up and down the curb so hard it sounds as if they hit another vehicle. If you find that you need a front end alignment, shocks, struts, etc. you'll know what may have been the cause. Take it back to them for repair and you play right into their hands. read more
