When the radiator they had installed 2 months earlier failed due to factory defects 2 days before my older car was scheduled to be in a scene for a TV show I called Kaercher. Even with their heavy schedule they replaced it the next day at no cost for parts or labor, and with professionalism and courtesy, allowing me to meet my obligation. Due to the short time period and the deadline I was unable to thank them adequately, so I am writing to do that now. If you are looking for a straightforward, qualified auto shop, Kaercher is a very good choice. Jack M. read more

Best service station in the south hills. Thorough descriptions of diagnoses, solid work, reasonable prices, and they don't try to fix it if it ain't broke. What more could you want? 2 thumbs up. And 5 stars. read more

I've been having my cars serviced at Kaercher for years. There is nothing I can add to the superlative reviews on this site. This is a 3rd generation shop. Fixing cars and treating customers right is in their DNA. Why go anywhere else? read more

This is a family run business, which I like supporting. They squeezed me in when I realized I desperately needed my inspection. They're very friendly and trustworthy, so I'll be coming back for sure! Plus, they're conveniently located by a car wash, so I can take care of my car needs in one swoop. read more

So helpful and kind! This place is great. They don't overcharge and are honest about what you need. I highly recommend!

I've been taking my car to the dealership for the past few years and have been charged well over $200 for an inspection, emissions, and oil change. I decided to take it here and was quickly taken on a Friday morning at 7:15. The whole process took a little over an hour and cost me around $100! He let me know that by next inspection I'll need new rotors and pads, but I made it through this year. He easily could have told me I needed them this year and I would have payed to have him replace them, but he was honest! I had a great experience and will return next year for sure! read more

I grew up in the Sunset Hills, my parents used Tom Kaercher (previously Klein Automotive) since the 60's. And I have taken all my cars here for 30+ years with out issue. The owners Tom and Susan (her Father is Mr. Kline the original owner) have carried on the business. Her son, Brandon works there as well, Terrific family. The nice thing about the location, if you are in the area, you can take your car down and run or walk home or take the T to work, or if you inquire and live close they may take you back to your home if they have time. During your inspection month, it is BEST to call at the beginning of the month or you may not get in. I would not trust my car to anyone, trust worthy and always call as they find issues that need to be addressed or approved and always a very fair cost for the work done. read more

We have been taking our cars to Kaercher Automotive for many years and have never had a complaint. They provide friendly, honest service, are always willing to answer you questions and endeavor to save you money wherever they can. For example, this past June, we brought my Mazda 5 and my Wife's Pontiac Grand Prix in for inspection. Both cars were getting up in age. To pass inspection, my Mazda needed new breaks and a new tie rod. My wife's car needed some minor repairs but also had some serious rust problems on the underside of the car. Before they repaired anything on her car, they phoned me to let me know about her car's problems, specifically the rust issue. They said that the minor repairs would run about $400-$500, but the biggest problem was the rust. They could not fix it, but suggested a couple of body shops that they work with. They advised us, however, that the cost of repairing the rust would run about $2000. Rather than recommend that we fix the rust and other problems, they suggested that we consider getting a new car, which we did. Their recommendation meant that they did not get the $400-$500 for the small repairs and, having a new car with a warranty, they have one less car to work on for the foreseeable future. We love Kaercher Automotive and will continue to take our other car there and will certainly return with the new car once the warranty runs out. read more

This place is great! Amazing customer service and practical recommendations and fixes. They went out of their way to drop me off while they kept my car and worked on it until the next morning and they offered me a ride to come pick it up then! Great prices, especially considering how hard they work! read more

I moved to the area a few years ago and I was struggling to find a good honest automotive shop. In a previous life I used to work in the field so I have a pretty good read on people trying to BS me. I tried 4 other shops and was very disappointed. I tried these guys and have been using them for almost 2 years. I am extremely satisfied and recommend them all the time. read more

We have been taking our cars to Kaercher's for over 20 years. They honestly and fairly tell you what needs to be done and what can wait and let you know ahead of time what they have found - there are never any surprises. Not only have they kept the older cars running, but they've helped us pick new cars. My aunt's mechanic had recommended a new door ($270)and numerous other repairs that came to almost $1,000. Kaercher's fixed the door with a $10 part and did all the other repairs for less than $300. This is an honest, friendly, service- oriented family run business. They sent me to a competitor to buy tires - the competitor was singing Kaerchers praises as the last of a breed that actually knew cars and how to keep them running rather than just replacing everything, how well respected they are for their integrity and honesty, and how lucky I was to have them. When a business is willing to send you to a competitor, and the competitor is saying how trusted they are among their peers, you can feel confident in their recommendations and work. read more
