Never again! I agree with some of the other reviews. They LOOK for things to run up your bill. I took my car there for an inspection and they said i needed new wiper blades. I put new blades on 2 months ago because they weren't working. I know they were fine because it rained a lot last week. My entire family used to take our cars there to try to support a local business. After they overcharged several of my family members none of us take our cars there. The former owner Sam was honest. The current owners are not read more

We took our car in for inspection. They told my husband that the rear brake caliper was seized and they recommended a new caliper. The brakes were working just fine for us so we declined the service. We took the rear tire off and discovered that the issue wasn't the entire caliper, it was the E-Brake cable bracket. A little PB blaster and WD-40 fixed it right up. They wanted to charge us $600+ for something that was fixed for $8. Overall, they LOOK for something to charge you for in order to pass inspection. Only go here if you want to be scammed. Edit in response to business response: The brake cable connects to a bracket on the outside of the caliper (picture included). This bracket is attached to a physical cable in order separate this actuation method from the brake pedal which works via hydraulic actuation. When we received the vehicle, the brake cable was unattached so I think that's what you mean by "much better condition". The bracket was also stuck in the open position. Therefore it was not engaging the caliper in order to compress the brake pads against the rotor. This was verified by viewing the caliper actuation when the brake pedal was pressed. So I disagree strongly that it was stuck in the on position for the entirety of the inspection. In fact, in the pictures sent to me, you can clearly see it's in the open position. It was obvious to me that the caliper was in working order and the problem lie elsewhere. The jiggling handle went away after I re-attached the brake cable. So I guess I should thank you for diagnosing it, but not for trying to sell me a replacement when all it needed was a repair. I agree it wouldn't and shouldn't pass inspection before some penetrating oil was sprayed on the bracket. I'd also like to add that the person who explained the problem to me barely knew anything about the issue when questioned on specifics. All I got was "it's seized". This was another indicator that there was a severe gap in knowledge for some of your technicians and I needed to scrutinize the result. I am a car enthusiast, engineer, and have rebuilt the front end on my Cooper. I know what I'm talking about. read more

Glenshaw Auto Service - Auto Repair Near Me - Glenshaw, Pennsylvania

The team at Glenshaw Auto Service at at the top of their game. I just started taking my vehicle there during the Pandemic and have not regretted my decision. They always are thorough and fair. Service was impeccable. Chris, Hannah and team at the front desk were courteous and swift with my oil change and courtesy inspection for my long road trip. I highly recommend this place - don't go anywhere else! read more

I think it's time for me to leave a review on this auto center. My dad, who speaks broken english, has been taking his car to this auto center for 20 years. From the first day I went with him (to translate) the owner has been honest and loyal to my father. There's nothing worse than to be taken advantage of because you don't understand the language. My dad now speaks english but 20 years ago, this wasn't the case. The owner always showed respect and great craftsmanship. Update: My dad STILL takes his car to this mechanic, now run by his son, who has the same morals as his father. read more

Oh my goodness! I don't even know where to start. Getting car repairs done is one of my biggest fears, as I always feel like I have a target on my back as a young girl who knows nothing about mechanics! I did some research and found this amazing place, and I am so glad! They squeezed me in the schedule last minute. I came in, got a free ride home, less then an hour later they called me to pick me up because my car was already finished! I had free rides each way and when I went to pay, Matt wouldn't let me! It was a quick fix and instead of making something up, they were 100% honest and said it really didn't cost them anything to fix. I've never been so impressed by the complete experience and costumer service at a car repair shop. I would recommend ANYONE! read more

With the solid reviews I read on Yelp, I had high hopes for this place. As a young woman, unfortunately, I've had far too many negative experiences of the stereotypical mechanic trying to put one over on me. Despite my appearance, I know a little bit about cars, just not to the point of being to get under the hood to fix things myself. My dad is a bit of a handy man and has shown me a few things over the years. I'm always leery of trying out a new car repair place, but needed to because I recently moved. Unfortunately, Glenshaw Auto didn't do much to assuage my fears. I told them I believed I knew what was wrong and wanted it fixed. They took two days to replicate the problem I said it was -- an intermittent starting issue with a specific part that needed to be replaced -- and charged me the time to let my car run forever and not be able to restart it. They charged about double what most places would charge for the part and labor when comparing online. I paid nearly $300 when it probably should've been in the $150 range. They also attempted to pressure sales me into buying tires, which I know I need and will likely purchase before winter. But I was told that if we were in another state with different laws that my car could be impounded because of the poor state of my tires. Good thing we don't live in a state like that. I'm disappointed. I expected more. I'll have to find a reliable place elsewhere. read more

The customer service at this place is beyond anything that I would expect at an auto service shop. I took my vehicle here for a repair that a previous shop had done wrong twice, charged me for and was still not fixed. The first thing that Glenshaw Auto did was to have a tech get in my car and drive around the neighborhood so that I could explain the issue. This didn't give any conclusive answers, but was something I thought was a smart thing to do on their part. I left my vehicle there, and within a couple of hours, their service rep (Matt) called to ask if he could email some documents (an auto-shop emailing me?! wow). The documents he sent were schematics of my car's suspension (the problem area). He then spent the next 15 minutes walking me through exactly what was wrong with the car and exactly what the other shop had not fixed properly. I gave them the go-ahead to do the work. Upon picking up the car, Matt asked that I text him to let him know if it seems that the issue was completely fixed after my drive home. He also let me know that I'd be receiving a follow-up call from them in 2 weeks to check that everything is still in order. What?! A follow-up call from a mechanic? I've never heard of such a thing. There were also a couple of things that he said they noticed on my vehicle that were not critical and didn't need to be addressed now (nice that I felt no pressure to make those fixes on the spot). He said that he would email me a quote on those other items in the next day. There's something that I really like about being emailed and/or texted as opposed to a phone call all the time. As far as price goes, it seems right inline with previous shops. I certainly did not feel that it was excessive, and they did fix the problem that the original shop could not properly do twice. I had also asked them to check a slow leak that I had on a tire. They removed and reseated the tire and charged me....nothing for it. It's not as if they forgot to charge me, it was right there on the invoice as $0. Other observations, very clean waiting room / reception area. Very friendly staff all-around. I'd certainly recommend these guys to anyone. read more

I have taken my car to them multiple times, always great service. Last week they really helped me out when I had car problems while my wife was in the hospital for a week with multiple procedures. I had to take a z trip to the hospital, they fixed my problem in two hours and delivered my car to the hospital for us. Who does that in this day and age? It was a great ending to a rough week! Thank you! Jay read more

I love this garage, I feel they are trust worthy and don't charge ridulous prices, I've taken my car in for things that they have to look at and they didn't charge me , they said if we don't fix anything we don't charge you. There also very nice and friendly, they have a nice waiting area if you want to wait while your car is being worked on. There have been times when we couldn't pick our car up before they left for the day, and they left the keys inside car so we could pick it up and said we could come by tomorrow and pay them. read more

Ive had a fair amount of experience with shops of all kinds through my car ownership over the years; I've experienced the good and the bad. I cannot say enough good about Glenshaw Auto Service. Their prices are competitive and I don't feel they are overpriced or pushy, trying to have you make unnecessary repairs. Most importantly and not always found in car repair places: Their staff is helpful and polite, friendly and approachable, their locations are clean, tidy, and convenient, they offer courtesy pickups, they follow up on issues or just general service, and they send thank you notes! I will continue to recommend Glenshaw Auto Service to anyone looking for a skilled repair team and unparalleled customer service. read more

I don't know where Tom here has been going for car repairs because Glenshaw Auto certianly is not honest, reliable or fair. I was a loyal customer for many years until I was treated horribly by the staff. They are unethical and will do work to your car without contacting you, so you will have to pay them. If you want to be taking advantage of and treated with disrespect this is your place...if not you might want to find another shop! read more

I live in Ohio, but my daughter attends university in Pittsburgh. On her way home for a visit, her car broke down on the turnpike. Being so far away, and unable to help her directly, we were lucky to have a local friend suggest Glenshaw Auto. The car was towed there and I am very thankful for their expertise and honesty in telling me about the car's issues and my options. They were incredibly patient and accommodating, and they went out of their way to help me explore my options despite the fact that I was never able to come to the shop and meet with them face-to-face. I am very grateful for their service and would highly recommend them. read more

Glenshaw Auto is the best auto repair shop you will find in Allegheny county. They are honest, reliable, and fair. I grew up in Glenshaw and I have been taking my car here for over 10 years. I have never been disappointed with the service they have provided. read more

I am so very thankful I found this place! They truly go over and above every single time! I needed an oil change, 2 lights replaced, and my car inspected and I was on a very tight budget. I told them what my budget was and not only did they come UNDER budget, but they were able to fix a problem on my car that I had for a couple years that another mechanic told me would cost well over $500! All of the staff are pleasant, happy, and a pleasure to work with. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place!!! We have been taking our cars here for close to 20 years and have always been treated very well. We tried several places before we found this place, but once we found them we have never looked back. While my car was in warranty, I had to take it to the dealer (who I bought it from) and they never treated me half as good as they do at Glenshaw Auto. I've had several issues with my car over the last several months and anytime I've called, they have always fit me in right away. They've even offered me a loaner if they had to keep the car while waiting on parts. Everyone is extremely pleasant and friendly - the service desk employees, mechanics and owners. I always know I will be treated fairly. They always take the time to explain what's wrong and provide all my options. They have never tried to sell me anything or do any extra work. I HIGHLY recommend Glenshaw Auto to anyone looking for an honest, reliable mechanic. read more

They ROCK! The only place in Pittsburgh with customer service skills. Paige was awesome, and they found what was wrong with my car in just a few hours (where others failed after meeting my car several days). Plus I got a loaner car! I will never take my car anywhere else. read more

I've brought my Toyota 4Runner to Glenshaw Auto a few times now, and each time I've been completely happy with their work and the whole experience. Everyone is super nice and friendly, not at all intimidating. They took the time to explain options to me, and to let me know about upcoming maintenance so I could be prepared. They are very focused on safety, so I have felt confident afterwards that they've caught any hidden issues. And they provided a loaner vehicle so I could still be mobile while my car was in the shop. I recommend them highly! read more

Glenshaw Auto was awesome! Sam and Matt probably the most helpful, nicest technicians we have encountered! Honestly, they were so extremely helpful and helped us get through a really terrible experience we had with some of the dealers. We have a 2008 Jeep Liberty which has a slider roof but only had 36,000 miles on it. Great car but the roof cable broke and no one could fix it other than if we paid $4000.00 for a new roof. It is our daughters car and just really needed it to get her through Grad school! (2 more years) After taking it to two different jeep dealers they were not helpful at all and probably did more harm than good! All we wanted to do is get it closed permanently and not worry about it working at all. Sam is just fantastic. He literally took it apart and put it back together and closed it permanently, (which is all we wanted) i have never had the experience of having such nice, honest communication between us and the technician. Honest hard working people who only want to give you the best service and not trying to rip you off. We recommend them highly and are so happy we found them!!! We are recommending our kids and friends to them!!! read more

Let me start by saying I only used them once BUT was very impressed with the follow through, care, and general concern they had in dealing with my issue. I had an annoying small oil leak in my car in which, new to the area, I decided to give them a try. After they fixed it, I again discovered there was still a leak only a day later. I took it back down to their shop, and fixed it again - this time only charging me parts since they couldn't get it the first time. They not only drove me back to my house in their shop car, but also dropped the finished car off when they were done. Fast forward to again the car was still leaking, and at this point being very annoyed and just wanted this thing done with once and for all. I again left it at the shop and they apologized for the inconvenience, and didn't charge for any of the re-work and gave me a nice small gift card as a token of causing inconvenience. Its the SMALL things that matter. This shop gets those right, and while I wish we solved the problem the first time, it was a tricky thing to diagnose so I do give them some leeway. I was impressed with the staff and their mission of making things right with the customer. 5 stars in my opinion. read more
